Amaç: Çalışmamızın amacı, eklem dışı distal tibia kırıklarının tedavisinde kullanılan intramedüller çivileme (İMÇ) ve minimal invazif plaklı osteosentezin (MİPO) fonksiyonel ve radyolojik sonuçlarının karşılaştırılmasıdır.Gereç ve Yöntem: Ocak 2008 ve Ocak 2015 tarihleri arasında hastanemizde eklem dışı distal tibia kırığı tanısıyla MİPO ya da İMÇ ile tedavi edilen 59 hasta geriye dönük olarak değerlendirildi. Kırık kaynamasının ve açısal deformitelerin değerlendirilmesi için postoperatif radyografiler kullanıldı. Hastaların fonksiyonel sonuçlarının değerlendirilmesinde ise Olerud-Molender Ankle Scoring (OMAS) yöntemi kullanıldı ve hastaların ayak bileği hareket genişlikleri goniometre ile ölçüldü.Bulgular: Yapılan son değerlendirmede tüm kırıkların kaynadığı görüldü. Kırıkların ortalama kaynamasüresi MİPO grubunda 16,1 hafta (12-24 hafta) ve İMÇ grubunda ise 15,5 hafta (10-24 hafta) idi (p=0.254). Ortalama OMAS skoru İMÇ grubunda 67,5 (40–90) MİPO grubunda ise 63 (30-90) idi (p=0,12). Ortalama operasyon süresi İMÇ grubunda 95(45-115) dakika ve MİPO grubunda 75 (40-100)dakikaydı (p= 0,04). Ortalama radyasyon maruziyet süresi İMÇ grubunda 30 (8-143) saniye ve MİPOgrubunda 17 (5-65) saniyeydi (p= 0,03). Açısal deformiteler İMÇ grubunda 7 (%23) hastada MİPOgrubunda 5 (%17) hastada görüldü. Yumuşak doku problemleri ise MİPO grubunda daha fazlahastada görüldü.Sonuç: Sonuç olarak İMÇ ve MİPO distal tibia metafizer bölge kırıklarının tedavisinde güvenlekullanılabilmektedir. İntramedüller çivileme daha fazla hastada açısal deformiteye ve gecikmişkaynamaya neden olurken MİPO daha sık yumuşak doku sorunlarına ve daha kötü fonksiyonelsonuçlara sebep olabilmektedir., Aim: Our study’s aim was to investigate the effectiveness of minimal invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) and intramedullary nailing (IMN) in extraarticular distal tibia fractures and to compare the outcomes of these two treatment methods.Materials and Methods: Between January 2008 and January 2015, 59 patients had extraarticular distal tibia fracture and treated with MIPO or IMN were evaluated retrospectively. Postoperative x-rays were evaluated for fracture consolidation and angular deformities. For the functional evaluations of the patients Olerud-Molender Ankle Scoring (OMAS) method was used and ankle joint range of motion was measured by goniometer.Results: At the last visit, all the fractures consolidated. Average union time was 16.1weeks (range, 12-24 weeks) in MIPO group and 15.5 weeks (range 10-24 weeks) in IMN group, respectively (p = 0.254). The mean OMAS scores were 67.5 (range 40–90) and 63 (range 30-90) in the IMN and MIPO groups, respectively (p= 0.12). The mean operation time was 95(range 45-115) minutes in IMN group and 75(range 40-100) minutes in MIPO group (p= 0.04). The mean operative radiation exposure times were 30(range 8-143) and 17 (range 5-65) seconds in IMN and MIPO groups, respectively (p= 0.03). Angular deformities were found in IMN group at 7 (23%) patients and in MIPO group at 5 (17%) patients, respectively. Soft tissue problems were seen in more patients in MIPO group.Conclusion: In conclusion, IMN and MIPO can be used safely in the treatment of distal tibial metaphyseal fractures. While IMN caused more angular deformity and more union delay, patients treated with MIPO had poorer functional results and more soft tissue problems.

Objective: Cancer isdefined by a abnormal growth of cells, that invade tissues and organs andspread to other parts of the body. Breast cancer is one of the most repeatedlydiagnosed cancers and the foremost cause of death among women worldwide. Medicinalplants can have an anticancerogenic effect in some cancer types. Our aim is tosearch the cytotoxic effect of Origanum minutiflorum O.Schwarz & P.H. Davis on breast cancer cells in vitro conditions. Methods: In thisstudy, MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7 breast cancer cell lines and adipose tissue derivedmesenchymal stem cells were used. Essential oil from Origanumminutiflorum was exposed tothe all cells and IC50 dose was calculated by MTT assay. We have examinedimmunocytochemical staining of eNOS, p53, PCNA and TUNEL at IC50 dose for eachcells. The results were evaluated using one-way-ANOVA by Graphpad software. Results: Theproliferation of breast cancer cells were inhibited by oregano oil. Oregano oildid not show any cytotoxic effect in mesenchymal stem cells. It was determinedthat cytotoxic effect of oregano oil on cancer cells was occurred throughincrease of eNOS and p53 staining for survival and the TUNEL labeling forapoptosis, and decreased of PCNA staining for proliferation. Conclusion: Accordingto our data, oregano oil has cytotoxic effect on MDA-MB-231 and MCF-7 breastcancer cell lines, and it needs to be analysis to detect active components forother biological activities., Amaç: Kanser, dokuve organları istila eden ve vücudun diğer kısımlarına sıçrayabilen, hücrelerinanormal gelişimidir. Bulgular: Memekanseri hücrelerinin proliferasyonu oragano yağı tarafından inhibe edildi.Oregano yağı mezenkimal kök hücrelerinde herhangi bir sitotoksik etkigöstermedi. eNOS ve p53 ile apoptozisin göstergesi TUNEL’de artış yoluylaoreagono yağının kanser hücrelerinde sitotoksik olduğu ortaya çıktı vePCNA boyamada proliferasyonun azaldığı tespit edildi. Sonuç: Bizim verilerimize göre oregano yağı MDA-MB-231 ve MCF-7 memekanseri hücrelerinde sitotoksik bir etkiye sahiptir ve diğer biyolojikaktiviteleri için aktif komponentlerini tanımlayacak testlere ihtiyaç vardır.

This study identified not only the wild plants collected for food purposes by local people of Karaisalı County in the Mediterranean Region, but also the uses and local names of these plants. Field study was carried out over a period of approximately 2 years (2008–2010). During this period, 76 vascular plant specimens were collected. Demographic characteristics of participants, vernacular plant names, edible parts and utilization methods of the plants were investigated and recorded. In the scope of the study, the plant species were collected; herbarium materials were prepared; and the specimens were entitled. In addition, the use-value of the species was determined and was calculated for the food plants included in the study. A total of 76 food plants belonging to 30 families were identified in the region. The most common families are: Asteraceae (12 plants), Lamiaceae (10 plants), Rosaceae (9 plants), Polygonaceae (5 plants), Apiaceae (4 plants). The study showed that the plants used are either eaten raw or ripe, cooked as vegetable dish, consumed as jam, consumed as coffee, as spice, frying in oil or baked to be served as dishes such as stew, pie made by roasting the leaves, prepared sour souce is added to food. During this ethnobotanical research, it was verified that wild edible plants play an important role in diet in Karaisalı. We examined whether the plants used had literature records or not. Varied usages of a number of plants have been recorded for the first time by us. Tree of those plant are endemic. The plant flora of Karaisalı is threatened by such factors as grazing, expansion of new agricultural lands, and unsustainable picking of plants to generate income. Steps should be taken immediately to ensure the inclusion of relevant flora within conservation designations.

WOS: 000381628100034, The essential oils of flower and leaves of Dorystoechas hastata Boiss & Helder. ex Bentham, grown in Turkey, was obtained by hydrodistillation and analysed by GC and GS-MS. Fourty components were identified in the flowers oil, which represented about 93.97 % of the total composition of the oil. The major constituents of the flower essential oil were myrcene (19.37 %), 1,8-cineole (14.30 %), beta-pinene (9.19 %), alpha-pinene (8.49 %) and beta-caryophyllene (6.18 %). Thirty-seven components were established in the leaves oil, making up 97.16 % of the total composition. The main constituents of the essential oil of the leaves were myrcene (20.71 %), 1,8-cineole (18.76 %), beta-pinene (12.51 %), alpha-pinene (8.54 %), bornyl acetate (7.28 %) and terpinene-4-ol (6.19 %). Bu araştırma, Pozantı Dağı'nın florasını tespit etmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bölgeden 1994-1996 yılları arasında yaklaşık 1800 bitki örneği toplanmış olup 77 familya ve 355 cinse ait 854 takson tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma alanında 2 takson Pteridophyta ve 852 takson Magnoliophyta divisiosuna aittir. Mevcut taksonlardan 165'i endemik olup endemizm oranı %19,3'dür. Taksonların fitocoğrafik bölgelere göre dağılımları şöyledir; Iran-Turan elementleri %28.5, Akdeniz elementleri %18.8 ve Avrupa-Sibirya elementleri %5.5'dir., This research was carried out to determine the flora of PozantıMountain. As a result of the examination of aproximtely 1800 plants specimens collected from the area, between 1994-1996, 854 taxa that belong to 77 families and 355 genera was determined. Two taxa belong to Pteridophyta 852 taxa belong to Magnoliophyta divisio.The 165 of the total taxa are endemic to Turkey and the rate of endemism is 19.3%. Toplanıp teşhis edilen 38 bitkinin dördünün Adana il sınırları içinde de (Ballota macrodonta Boiss. et. Bal., Galium dieckii Bornm., Thlaspi rosulare Boiss. et Ball., Verbascum cilicium (Boiss et Heldr.) O. Kuntze ve üçünün ise [Thurya capitata Boiss et. Bal. (Hatay, Adana), Saturaje cilicica P. H. Bölgeden 1994-1996 yılları arasında yaklaşık 1100 bitki örneği toplanmış olup 61 familya ve 270 cinse ait 539 takson tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma alanında 1 takson Pteridophyta ve 538 takson Magnoliophyta divisiosuna aittir. Mevcut taksonlardan 147'si endemik olup endemizm oranı %27,3'dür. Taksonların fitocoğrafik bölgelere göre dağılımları şöyledir; Iran-Turan elementleri %25.6, Akdeniz elementleri %16.7 ve Avrupa-Sibirya elementleri %5.7'dir., This research was carried out to determine the flora of Aladağlar (Niğde region). Bu araştırmada, 2002 yılında Gemerek (Sivas) ve çevresinde yapılan etnobotanik çalışma ile bazı bitkilerin yöresel isimleri ve kullanım alanları derlenerek verilmiştir.Yörede tıbbi amaç için ve gıda olarak kullanılan 30 bitki tespit edilmiştir. Bu bitkilerin kullanılma amaçları ve nasıl kullanıldıkları hakkında kaynak kişilerden derlenen bilgiler verilmiştir. Ayrıca yörede 27 hastalığa karşı bu 30 bitkinin değişik şekillerde kullanıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu bitkilerin yöresel adlarının saptanması da çalışmanın sonuçlarındandır

Bursa bölgesinde zengin flora ve pek çok lokal endemiğe sahip olmasıyla bilinen Kuzey-Batı Anadolu’da bir dağ olan Uludağ’dan toplanan ve Ornithogalum oligophyllum E.D.Clarke ile yakın benzerlik gösteren Ornithogalum nurdaniae Y.Bağcı ve Savran yeni türü tanımlandı ve resimlendi. Ayırt edici morfolojik özellikleri tartışıldı. Ayrıca yeni türün ekolojisi, biyocoğrafyası ve koruma statüsü sunuldu., Ornithogalum nurdaniae Y.Bağcı & Savran sp. nov. (Liliaceae), a new species related to O. oligophyllum E.D.Clarke, is described and illustrated from Uludağ (the Bithynian Olympus), a mountain in NW Anatolia well known for its rich flora and many local endemics (A2 Bursa province). Diagnostic morphological characters are discussed. Notes are also presented on the ecology, biogeography, and conservation status of the new species.

It is crucial to make neurovasculary examination before and after joint reduction. Phsical examination and x rays are enough for diagnosis. These injuries are rather rare injuries and any misdiagnosis or any failure in treatment can result in permanent disability. A forty three year old man presented emergency room with right ankle pain and limited joint motion which occured after a high ground fall. His ankle was deformated and swollen. After patient diagnosed with isolated medial subtalar dislocation, his ankle was closely reducted and protected in a cast. He was treated conservatively without any complications.

Presl.,B. trichopoda Hausskn. ex Bornm.,B. auricula ta Hausskn. ex Bornm. var. auriculata ,B. lutea Cullen & Coode,B. plantaginea DC.,B. brachycarpa Boiss. subsp. brachycarpa var. brachycarpa, B. brachycarpa Boiss. subsp. minor (K. Koch) Parolly & Eren var. pilicarpa Parolly & Eren, B. brachycarpa Boiss. subsp. brachycarpa var. ilicifolia Parolly, Nordt & Eren olup kromozom sayıları 2n = 2x = 16'dır. Bu cinsin karyolojik verileri sonucunda tek temel kromozom sayısı gözlendi (x = 8). Ayrıca, çalışılan bütün Barbarea taksonlarına ait idiyogramlar verildi. Türkiye'de Bar barea cinsinin revizyonuna sitotaksonomik yönden katkıda bulunan bir araştırmadır, In this research, the somatic chromosome numbers and karyotypes of taxa belonging to the genus Barbarea R.Br. were determined using Image Analysis System. These taxa are Barbarea vulgaris R.Br., B. verna (Mill.) Aschers., B. sicula C. Presl., B. trichopoda Hausskn. ex Bornm., B. auriculata Hausskn. ex Bornm. var. auriculata, B. lutea Cullen & Coode, B. plantaginea DC., B. brachycarpa Boiss. subsp. brachycarpa var. brachycarpa, B. brachycarpa Boiss. subsp. minor (K. Koch) Parolly & Eren var. pilicarpa Parolly & Eren, B. brachycarpa Boiss. subsp. brachycarpa var. ilicifolia Parolly, Nordt & Eren as 2n = 2x = 16. Based on karyological data with this genus, one basic chromosome number in Barbarea taxa were observed (x = 8). Furthermore, ideograms were given for all the studied Barbarea taxa. The research has made contribution to the cytotaxonomic revision of the genus Barbarea in Turkey

During the floristic studies in the area in 2004, the vernacular names and the usage of some plants were compiled. In the region, 39 plants used for medicinal purpose and as food materials were determined.
