Aviation is one of the leading industries in the application of emerging technologies. There were several epidemics affecting the development of the industry globally. Competent human resources and their training with updating technological skills are some of the basic solutions for getting out of such crises. The aim of this chapter is to emphasize the significance of digitalization in aviation education for upskilling the future workforce requirements as aviation rebuilds over the COVID-19 pandemic. For that reason, the content determined as explaining first the COVID-19 impacts on worldwide air transportation then listing the previous studies on pandemic and aviation education the categorization is revealed ‘pre-during-post pandemic aviation education' to take place as a period in the literature. The role of aviation educational organizations and policymakers are studied, and in the process of digital transformation, future skills are discussed. In the last part, the experiences of the educators during the pandemic process were discussed through interviews.

Purpose - The airport master plan should include requirements and recommendations, demand forecasts, environmental analysis, layout plan, facility requirements, financial size, and location selection information. The biggest factor in choosing air transportation by passengers is that it is a fast and comfortable mode of transportation. Since the transportation time and ease of the airport is also a factor affecting this factor, its integration with airport access roads, intercity connecting roads and other modes of transportation is important for the passengers to choose air transportation. Therefore, the importance of airport access roads in master plan studies can be understood more clearly. Aim of the study is that analyzing to airport ground access services of Hasan Polatkan Airport within the scope of master plan.Methodology - In the first part of the research, the airport planning steps are examined in the literature. Airport ground access services data was collected with the secondary data. Revealed preferences surveys (RP) and stated preferences surveys (SP) were used to get he data of the passengers’ satisfaction. A statistical program used to analysis of survey. Total of 91 passengers were reached in 3 different flights in 2018 in the summer. The scale of the research was adapted from the Passenger Time Value, Benefit-Cost Analysis and Airport Capital Investment Decisions bookFindings- Only 15.4 percent of the passengers use public transportation to access the airport. Conducted with the passengers at the Eskişehir Hasan Polatkan Airport Terminal Section, the passengers were generally satisfied with the transportation conditions to the airport. The primary mode of transportation preferred for RP in access to the airport is light rail systems.Conclusion- Survey form to evaluate the airport transportation services in terms of passengers was prepared and applied on outgoing incoming passengers. As a consequence of the analysis of the research, suggestions about Hasan Polatkan airport were completed.

Amaç- Bu çalışmada, yönetişim sürecinde iletişimin rolünü ve önemini ortaya koymanın yanında sivil toplum anlayışı ve onun temsilcisi olan sivil toplum kuruluşunun iletişim durumunu tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır. Metodoloji - Araştırma Türkiye’nin sivil havacılık güvenliği alanında tek sivil toplum kuruluşu olan Havalimanları Güvenlik Memurları Derneği (SİHAGÜVDER) üyesi 357 katılımcı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir.Bulgular- Ulusal sivil toplum kuruluşları temsilcilikler kurarak üyelerine ulaşabilmektedir. Yerel STK temsilcisi (%19,2) ve arkadaşlarından (13,9) kulaktan kulağa iletişim önemli iletişim araçlarıdır. Cevap veren STK üyelerinin en az tercih ettikleri iletişim tekniği internet sayfası ve diğer sosyal medya (instegram, twitter vb.) araçlarıdır. Sonuç - Sivil toplum kuruluşlarının güçlendirilmesi ve gelişmesi için yönetişim anlayışı gün geçtikçe önem kazanmaktadır. Yönetişim sürecinin verimli olabilmesi amacıyla tüm iletişim kanallarının üyelerin yönetim ve diğer üyeler arasında yeterli bir düzeyde kullanılmadığı anlaşılmıştır., Purpose- In this study, besides revealing the role and importance of communication in the governance process, it is aimed to determine the understanding of civil society and the communication status of the non-governmental organization that is its representative.Methodology- The research was carried out with 357 participants who are members of the Airport Security Officers Association (SİHAGÜVDER), the only non-governmental organization in the field of civil aviation security in Turkey.Findings- National non-governmental organizations can reach their members by establishing representative offices. Word of mouth communication from local NGO representatives (19.2%) and their friends (13.9%) are important communication tools. The least preferred communication technique of the responding NGO members is the internet page and other social media (instegram, twitter etc.) tools.Conclusion- Governance understanding is gaining importance day by day for the strengthening and development of non-governmental organizations. In order for the governance process to be efficient, it has been understood that all communication channels are not used at a sufficient level between the members of the management and other members.

Purpose- The purpose of the study is to determine conceptually the effect of technological changes on airport security personnel. Airports have the potential to attract danger due to its strategic importance. Over the last decade, changes in the threat profile have occurred. The main purpose of aviation is to provide service to passengers by creating space and time benefits. The balance of passengers' comfort and safety to be maintained by air depends on the type of threats and the technology used in security. For this reason, large investments have been made in the development of security technology at airports. In this process, small-scale, relatively simple security systems at the airports, large-scale, high-tech systems were introduced. Methodology- Literature review method was used. Findings- In order to evaluate the approaches of the airport security personnel to the technological change, the survey study on the openness to technological changes in the literature review was investigated and the main dimensions in this context were put forward. The impact of technological changes on airport security personnel was interpreted and recommendations were made. Considering that human factor is the user of technology, the attitude of individuals towards technology is effective in ensuring airport security. Technological change has had a significant impact on the attitudes, behaviors and mental structure of the employees. Technological change causes many psychological effects such as monotony, boredom, fatigue, stress and anxiety. Conclusion- The psychological effects of the technological change on the employees were found to be monotony and boredom, stress and anxiety. The social effects of technological change on employees are alienation and inadequacy, education, communication and social relations. The economic impact of technological change on employees is dismissal and job insecurity. In addition, the physical effect has emerged as health problems.

In this study, S-type rotifer Brachionus plicatilis were enriched with 10 levels (0, 0.001, 0.01, 0.1, 1, 10, 100, 500, 1000 and 1500 mg L-carnitine per L) of L-carnitine supplements dissolved in Chlorella vulgaris culture medium in a 10 mL individual culture trial for 7 days. The initial rotifer density was 1 individual mL(-1). The trials were conducted to 200x0(6) cell mL(-1) at food density at 25 +/- 1 degrees C under an axenic condition in the laboratory. L-carnitine enrichment has shown considerable influence on the population growth of rotifer Brachionus plicatilis. As a result, the maximum number of individuals was determined as 1560 +/- 10.00 rot./mL in the group enriched with 100 mg/L L-carnitine supplement and the lowest number of individuals was determined 376.67 +/- 25.17 rot./mL in the group enriched with 1500 mg/L L-carnitine addition (p

Objectives: This study aims to estimate the prevalence of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and spondyloarthritis (SpA) in Turkey using the same telephone questionnaire developed for screening RA and SpA in France and used in Serbia and Lithuania. Material and methods: The study was performed in two steps. In step I, the French questionnaire was translated into Turkish and validated through a group of 200 patients (80 males, 120 females; mean age 44.0 +/- 13.1 years; range, 19 to 75 years) followed up at the rheumatology departments of University Hospitals in Antalya and Ankara. In step II, the validated Turkish questionnaire was administered face-to-face to randomly selected 4,012 subjects (1,670 males, 2,342 females; mean age 41.5 +/- 16.8 years; range, 16 to 97 years) by trained general practitioners across the country, in 25 provinces for case detection. The subjects who were suspected of having RA or SpA in accordance with the questionnaire were invited to the nearest university hospital for rheumatologic examination in order to confirm the diagnosis. Results: In step II, a total of 25 subjects (2 males, 23 females) were diagnosed as RA. The standardized RA prevalence for the general population of Turkey was calculated as 0.56% (95% confidence interval [CI]; 0.33-0.79), 0.10% (95% CI; -0.05-0.25) for males and 0.89% (95% CI; 0.51-1.27) for females. A total of 18 subjects (3 males, 15 females) were diagnosed as SpA. The standardized SpA prevalence for the general population of Turkey was 0.46% (95% CI; 0.25-0.67), 0.17% (95% CI; -0.03-0.37) for males and 0.65% (95% CI; 0.32-0.98) for females. The prevalence of RA was highest in the Northern region (2.00%) and the prevalence of SpA was highest in the Central region (1.49%). Conclusion: The prevalences of RA and SpA in Turkey are close to each other and there are significant inter-regional variations in prevalences of both RA and SpA.

For the lastcentury, terrorism has shown itself in many different field. One and maybe themost effective field is aviation sector. Because of its function, airports are the most strategical places forcountry, securing these areas are also extremely crucial. Thus, airports arenumber-one target for sensational terrorist attacks. In this paper, AtatürkAirport attack on 28th June 2016 has been studied and outcomes arediscussed for more sophisticated security systems. In the first stage of thispaper, the theoretical research of terrorist attacks and related terms havebeen examined. In the second part, with the data acquired by study in practiceairport attack on 28 June 2016, reasons of attack, precautions after explosionand negative consequences have been stated with articles. In the final part ofthe study, the actual and possible results of airport attack have beendiscussed and evaluated by employee working at airport by means ofsemi-structured interview and in-depth analysis. With analyzing the obtainedresults, the impact of terrorist attack at Atatürk Airport on governmental andpersonal level has been identified and on the purpose of improvement of systemsome recommendations have been made.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the bond strength, penetration ability, microleakage, and remineralisation capacity of glass ionomer-based fissure sealant materials.In this study, three glass ionomer-based fissure sealants were evaluated (Fuji Triage, Fuji VII EP, and GCP Glass Seal). A dye-penetration test was performed to evaluate microleakage under a stereomicroscope. The materials were applied to occlusal tooth surfaces, and bucco-lingual sections (1 mm width) were assessed to evaluate the penetration ability. Shear bond strength of tested materials was assessed using a universal testing machine. Finally, the remineralisation capacities of the materials were evaluated with EDS.The Fuji Triage exhibited the lowest microleakage and unfilled area proportion (p0.05). The highest shear bond strength was calculated with Fuji VII EP (p0.05). The fluoride content for all treatment groups was significantly different when remineralisation values were compared to demineralisation (p0.05).Both the Fuji Triage and Fuji VII EP yielded compatible and satisfactory results and all fissure sealants used in this study are sufficient as anti-caries agents.
