A field experiment was conducted during Rabi season of 2015-16. Geographically Lucknow is situated at 26050’ N latitude, 80052’ E longitude and altitude of 111 miter above mean sea level (MSL)at Horticulture Research Farm-1, Babasaheb Bheemrao Ambedkar University Vidya Vihar, Rae Bareli Road, Lucknow, (U.P.) 226025, Studies on the “Effect of boron and zinc on Physical characters, Yield attributing characters and Bio-chemical aspects of fruits, yield and quality of pomegranate (Punica granatum L.), cv. Bhagwa”, revealed that Physical characters viz. Fruit weight(101.33g), Fruit length (0.53m), fruit diameter maximum (0.39m), Fruit volume (89.67ml) and Pericarp thickness (0.17mm), Peel weight(0.039g), Number of aril/fruit (302.67) and Aril weight(0.06 g), Aril length (0.48), Aril diameter (0.30), Yield attributing characters viz. Fruit yield g/plant (435.35g), Fruit yield kg/ha(299.67kg/ha), and Bio-chemical aspects viz. Specific gravity of fruit (2.07), Titratable Acidity (0.43%), Ascorbic acid (10.80mg/100g), Total Soluble Solids (14.470 Brix), Total sugars (6.00%), Reducing sugar (4.63%), Non-reducing sugar, (1.91%), of fruits were maximized. When we use with recommended dose of micronutrients (Boron 0.2%) + (Zinc 0.5%).

The present experiment was carried out entitled “Correlation coefficient and Path analysis in Okra [Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench]” was conducted at Horticulture Research Farm of the Department of Horticulture, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Vidya- Vihar, Rae Bareli Road, Lucknow (U.P.) during the summer season from February 2017 to May 2017. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with three replications. The experimental materials consisting sixteen variable genotypes of okra viz. Pusa Sawni, Parbhani Kranti, IC-093724, Arka Abhay, IC-04484-B, VRO-4, VRO-5, IC-117263, VRO-6, Kashi Kranti, IC-128095, IC-117027, IC-033329, IC-117265, IC-042451and IC-090184. The maximum genotypic correlation coefficient and phenotypic correlation coefficient was observed for number of fruit per plant. The genotypic path coefficient revealed highest positive direct effect on fruit yield by plant height.

Thin film of Ti0.95Co0.05O2-δ was deposited on Si (100) using PLD method and annealed in O2 and N2 environment. Raman spectra confirm that all the films have rutile structure. Surface morphology indicates that the surface roughness and grain size increase with annealing. The electronic structure studied by NEXAFS spectroscopy at O K, Ti L3,2 and Co L3,2-edges revealed that peak intensities decrease significantly for the film annealed N2 environment. The ligand-field splitting estimated from the energy difference between the t2g and eg features in O K-edge spectra were 2.71 eV for as-deposited and O2 annealed film, whereas reduced more than double (⿼1.32 eV) for the film annealed in N2. Atomic multiplet calculations and experimentally observed NEXAFS spectra at Co L3,2-edge and Ti L3,2-edge confirm that Co present in 2+ and Ti in +4 valence state, whereas the multiplet structures of O2 annealed film looks similar to Co metal.

A series of polycrystalline bulk samples of Mn 1+x Fe 2-2x Ti x O 4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5) have been prepared by using a conventional solid-state reaction method. The effect of Ti4+ ions substitution on magnetic and electronic structure of MnFe2O4 has been studied using isothermal d.c. magnetization and near edge X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (NEXAFS) measurements. The magnetization studies infer that all samples have ferrimagnetic ordering at room temperature. The magneton number (nB) calculated using the magnetic hysteresis loop has been found to decrease linearly with the Ti substitution, which indicates that the system follows the Neel's two sub-lattice model. The decrease in the value of nB may be due to the dilution of the sub-lattice by Ti ions. The NEXAFS measurements performed at Fe/Ti L3, 2 edges indicate that Fe ions are in mixed valence state whereas Ti ions remain unchanged at 4+ state.
