In the last years, the use of composite indicators has consistently increased, and the necessity to build model-based composite indicators with a strong methodological statistical approach becomes more and more important for reasons of trustworthiness. In this paper, we propose to build a composite indicators system able to measure different levels of relations among (group of) variables according to an ultrametric form which detects a hierarchical structure upon (group of) variables. Each dimension is measured as a specific composite indicator which reflects a subset of variables. In order to show its potential and applicability, the methodology is employed to analyze a dataset which contains variables about separated waste collection in Italy taking into consideration both its performance and its costs.

Introduction A synergistic effect of the combination therapy tadalafil plus L-Arginine is conceivable in patients affected by erectile dysfunction (ED). Aim To evaluate the effectiveness and tolerability of tadalafil 5 mg and L-Arginine 2.5 grams in monotherapy and combination therapy. Methods Recruited patients completed the International Index of Erectile Function – Erectile Function domain (IIEF-EF) and Sexual Encounter Profile diaries completed at baseline and after treatment. The survey was randomized into 3 groups with an equal allocation ratio. Group A received daily L-Arginine 2,500 mg, group B received daily tadalafil 5 mg, and group C received both daily L-Arginine 2,500 mg plus daily tadalafil 5 mg. The duration of therapy in all 3 groups was 12 weeks. Safety was assessed by evaluating all reported treatment-emergent adverse events. Main Outcome Measure The main outcome measure was the change in IIEF-EF score and in per-patient percentage of “yes” responses to Sexual Encounter Profile Question 3 from baseline to after treatment. Results 300 eligible patients were enrolled, and 100 subjects for each group were allocated. Based on the IIEF-EF score, the participants were divided into 3 categories: severe, moderate, and mild ED. IIEF-EF score increased in group A from 15 ± 7 to 18.1 ± 9.2, in group B from 14.8 ± 6.9 to 20.8 ± 7.3, and in group C from 14.9 ± 7.1 to 22 ± 7.5. In mild ED group, the mean IIEF-EF score increased from 22.1 ± 2.2 to 27.5 ± 2.3 in group A; from 22.1 ± 2.2 to 27.8 ± 2 in group B, and from 22.2 ± 2.2 to 29.3 ± 0.9 in group C. We report a total of 11, 53, and 67 cases of adverse events in group A, B, and C respectively. Conclusions Combination therapy was superior to monotherapies. Online education is nowadays becoming increasingly important in students’ learning process. To plan future activities within an online course, it is crucial to understand which factors mostly contribute to Student Satisfaction which, in turn, affects the students’ performances. The data collected from students attending the course in Statistics of the bachelor’s in Economics in Unitelma Sapienza was considered, with the aim to detect both what students appreciated the most about a specific interactive online activity (e-tivity) and what critical aspects they believed emerged from the experience. Moreover, the performances obtained by the students who took part in this e-tivity were compared with the ones of whom had not attended. Finally, the paper presents an aggregated index for the Student Satisfaction highlighting the main aspects of it.

Background Although many studies emphasize the importance of using oxygen saturation (SpO2) targets in the NICUs, there is a wide variability in used saturation ranges among centers. Primary aim was to draw a representative picture on how the management of oxygen monitoring is performed in the Italian NICUs. Second aim was to identify healthcare-professionals related factors associated with oxygen targeting in the preterm population. Methods Cross-sectional study with data collection via an electronic survey form. A questionnaire containing pre-piloted and open questions on monitoring and management of the SpO2 was administered to neonatologists across the network of the Italian Society of Neonatology. The questions focused on: the infrastructure, specific training, healthcare professionals and patients-related factors. The results of the survey were anonymously collected, summarized and analyzed. Results Out of 378 questionnaires, 93 were correctly filled. Thirty-six different SpO2 ranges were observed. Centers using written standard operating procedures on oxygen management and SpO2 monitoring maintained a correct average range of SpO2 90–95%, avoided hyperoxia and reconsidered saturation targets in relation to comorbidities. 39.8% of responders disabled alarms during neonatal care. One center used biomarkers for complete monitoring of neonatal oxygenation status. Conclusions There is considerable variation in SpO2 targets for preterm infants in the Italian NICUs. Standard operating procedures and specific training for health care personnel are the main factors playing a role for the correct maintenance of the recommended oxygen targets in preterms.

Job Satisfaction is a set of favorable or unfavorable feelings and emotions linked to how employees view their work environment. If employees are not satisfied with their jobs, the overall progress of the entire system is affected. This paper reports on a study of teacher job satisfaction that examined a sample of 362 teachers. The study used a Common Assessment Framework & Education questionnaire to collect data, and a Structural Equation Model taking age, total years of service and gender into account was used to identify the factors that most influence Job Satisfaction. The results obtained from the Job Satisfaction model underline a significant difference between male and female teachers.

The concept of job satisfaction has been of great interest to social scientists concerned with the problems of work in an industrial society. Job satisfaction is an indicator of how people feel about their work. This study investigates the job satisfaction of 134 teachers in the province of Naples. The study used a Common Assessment Framework &Education questionnaire (short version). This paper investigates the role of factors that impact on job satisfaction. IV. International Conference on Tourism Dynamics and Trends (ICTDT2020) will be held at the Akdeniz University, Tourism Faculty in 16-19 September 2020. The International Conference on Tourism Dynamics and Trends is organized in collaboration with five Universities: Akdeniz University (Turkey), University of Sannio (Italy), University of Seville (Spain), University of Rome Unitelma Sapienza (Italy), Swansea University (UK). The conference will generate a discussion forum in which scientists will offer their vision about the advances and tendencies in the research in tourism, travel and hospitality area. The conference will bring together academics, master and doctoral students who are studying at tourism, travel and hospitality or related disciplines. Professionals of the tourism, travel and hospitality companies who are keen to know the latest developments in academic literature and would like to share their expertise with the participants of the conference are also invited to participate.

Considering the structural equation model (SEM), usually the main researches are based on the structural model rather than on the measurement one. So, this context implies some problems: construct misspecification, identification and validation. Starting from the most recent articles in terms of these issues, we achieve – and formalize through two tables – a general framework that could help researchers select and assess both formative and reflective measurement models with special attention on statistical implications. To show this general framework, we present a survey on customer behaviours for socially responsible food consumption. The survey was carried out by delivering a questionnaire administered to a representative sample of 332 families. In order to detect the main aspects impacting consumers’ preferences, a factor analysis has been performed. Then the general framework has been used to select and assess the measurement models in SEM. The estimation of the SEM has been worked out by partial least squares. The significance of the indicators has been tested using bootstrap. As far as we know, it is the first time that a model for the analysis of the consumers’ behaviour for social responsibility is formalized through a SEM.

The multiple non-symmetric correspondence analysis (MNSCA) is a useful technique for analysing the prediction of a categorical variable through two or more predictor variables placed in a contingency table. In MNSCA framework, for summarizing the predictability between criterion and predictor variables, the Multiple-TAU index has been proposed. But it cannot be used to test association, and for overcoming this limitation, a relationship with C-Statistic has been recommended. Multiple-TAU index is an overall measure of association that contains both main effects and interaction terms. The main effects represent the change in the response variables due to the change in the level/categories of the predictor variables, considering the effects of their addition. On the other hand, the interaction effect represents the combined effect of predictor variables on the response variable. In this paper, we propose a decomposition of the Multiple-TAU index in main effects and interaction terms. In order to show this decomposition, we consider an empirical case in which the relationship between the demographic characteristics of the American people, such as race, gender and location (column variables), and their propensity to move (row variable) to a new town to find a job is considered.

The extension of genetically modified (GM) foods has been highly controversial in Europe, and particularly in Italy. Consumer scepticism is usually attributed to the low level of public knowledge about the health consequences of GM foods, particularly the risks and benefits The purposes of this research are to verify the degree of spread relating to genetically modified (GM) foods in Italy and to construct a statistical model in order to analyze the Italian habits regarding the consumption of GM foods. In the research has been gathered a questionnaire to the school students selected school of a metropolitan area (Naples, South-Italy). The questionnaire consisted of questions focusing on school cultural characteristics and questions regarding awareness and uses about GM foods. The data obtained have been elaborated by a structural equation model.

Recently consumer’s behaviour towards food products has been increasingly influenced by quality and safety and, in that context, genetically modified organisms have taken particular significance: they can be defined as organisms in which the DNA has been altered in a way that does not occur naturally. Moreover, food safety has been the object of increasing attention in recent years as a major consumer concern, because it affects purchasing behaviours. So, the consumption of genetically modified foods appears to be the cause of particular doubts and hesitations among consumers, above all in a particular European country such as Italy. In the present research a survey to analyze the consumption of genetically modified foods among Italian people is presented. Objectives: to explore genetically modified food’s consumption among Italian people and, then, to suggest a statistical model to explain purchasing behaviours in the specific Italian market.
