We involve the galactic halo observational data to test the weak field General Relativity involving the cosmological constant. Using the data for 15 hydrogen (Hi) VLA super spirals and the Tully-Fisher relation we obtain constraints for each galaxy. The results are consistent with previous results for spiral galaxies, as well as with the scaling relations for the halos, thus confirming the efficiency of the use of dark halo data and Tully-Fisher relation, including the baryonic Tully{Fisher index (BTFR), for testing modified gravity models., Comment: 5 pages, 1 Table, MPLA (in press)

We consider different observational effects to test modified gravity approach involving the cosmological constant in the common description of the dark matter and the dark energy. We obtain upper limits for the cosmological constant by studying the scaling relations for 12 nearby galaxy clusters, the radiated power from gravitational waves and the Tully-Fisher relation for super spiral galaxies. The sparsity parameter for clusters of galaxies is obtained in the context of $\Lambda$-gravity. It is shown that, the theoretical estimated values are within the reported error limits of the measured data. Thus, in the future the sparsity parameter can serve as an informative new test to detect the discrepancy between General Relativity and $\Lambda$-gravity., Comment: 6 pages, Mod. Phys. Lett. Galactic halos are of great importance for our understanding of both the dark matter nature and primordial non-Gaussianity in the perturbation spectrum, a powerful discriminant of the physical mechanisms that generated the cosmological fluctuations observed today. In this paper we analyze {\it Planck} data towards the galaxy M104 (Sombrero) and find an asymmetry in the microwave temperature which extends up to about $1 \degr$ from the galactic center. This frequency-independent asymmetry is consistent with that induced by the Doppler effect due to the galactic rotation and we find a probability of less than about $0.2\%$ that it is due to a random fluctuation of the microwave background. In addition, {\it Planck} data indicate the relatively complex dynamics of the M104 galactic halo, and this appears to be in agreement with previous studies. The contribution of the thermal dust component in galactic halo rotation is explored based on the microwave data of Planck satellite. The temperature asymmetry of Doppler nature revealed for several edge-on galaxies at several microwave frequencies is analyzed regarding the contribution of the thermal dust emission. We derive the dust contribution to the galactic halo rotation using the data in three bands, 353GHz, 545GHz and 857GHz for two nearby galaxies M81 and M82. The relevance of the revealed properties on the halo rotation is then discussed in the context of the modified gravity theories proposed to describe the dark matter configurations., Comment: Mod. This paper is a follow-up of a previous paper about the M82 galaxy and its halo based on Planck observations. As in the case of M82, so also for the M81 galaxy a substantial North-South and East-West temperature asymmetry is found, extending up to galactocentric distances of about $1.5^\circ$. The temperature asymmetry is almost frequency independent and can be interpreted as a Doppler-induced effect related to the M81 halo rotation and/or triggered by the gravitational interaction of the galaxies within the M81 Group. We used Planck data to study the M33 galaxy and find a substantial temperature asymmetry with respect to its minor axis projected onto the sky plane. This temperature asymmetry correlates well with the HI velocity field at 21 cm, at least within a galactocentric distance of 0.5 degree, and it is found to extend up to about 3 degrees from the galaxy center. Planck data towards the galaxy M82 are analyzed in the 70, 100 and 143 GHz bands. A substantial north-south and East-West temperature asymmetry is found, extending up to 1 degree from the galactic center. Being almost frequency-independent, these temperature asymmetries are indicative of a Doppler-induced effect regarding the line-of-sight dynamics on the halo scale, the ejections from the galactic center and, possibly, even the tidal interaction with M81 galaxy. The Kolmogorov-Arnold stochasticity parameter technique is applied for the first time to the study of cancer genome sequencing, to reveal mutations. Using data generated by next generation sequencing technologies, we have analyzed the exome sequences of brain tumor patients with matched tumor and normal blood. We show that mutations contained in sequencing data can be revealed using this technique thus providing a new methodology for determining subsequences of given length containing mutations i.e. its value differs from those of subsequences without mutations. A potential application for this technique involves simplifying the procedure of finding segments with mutations, speeding up genomic research, and accelerating its implementation in clinical diagnostic. Moreover, the prediction of a mutation associated to a family of frequent mutations in numerous types of cancers based purely on the value of the Kolmogorov function, indicates that this applied marker may recognize genomic sequences that are in extremely low abundance and can be used in revealing new types of mutations., Comment: To appear in Royal Society Open Science, 12 pages, 2 figures

The structure of the cold spot, of a non-Gaussian anomaly in the cosmic microwave background (CMB) sky first detected by Vielva et al. is studied using the data by Planck satellite. The obtained map of the degree of stochasticity (K-map) of CMB for the cold spot, reveals, most clearly in 100 GHz band, a shell-type structure with a center coinciding with the minima of the temperature distribution. The shell structure is non-Gaussian at a 4\sigma confidence level. Such behavior of the K-map supports the void nature of the cold spot. Non-gravitational Yarkovsky-Rubincam effect for LAGEOS and LAGEOS 2 satellites used to probe General Relativity has been revealed by means of the Kolmogorov analysis of their perturbations. We apply the Kolmogorov statistic to analyse the residual data of two LAGEOS satellites on General Relativistic Lense-Thirring effect, and show that it reveals a tiny difference in the properties of the satellites, possibly related to Yarkovsky-Rubincam effect. The technique of degree of randomness is used to model the correlations in sequences containing various subsignals and noise. Kolmogorov stochasticity parameter enables to quantify the randomness in number sequences and hence appears as an efficient tool to distinguish the signals. Astrophysical and cosmological signals such as the cosmic microwave background radiation, as observed, typically contain contributions of different components, and their statistical properties can be used to distinguish one from the other. A method developed originally by Kolmogorov is involved for the study of astrophysical signals of randomness of various degrees.
