The study aims to furnish insights on the use of new impact indexes for ex-post evaluations in the framework of the post-2020 CAP. In particular, concerning water policies, the use of economic efficiency is considered and applied to three irrigation supply systems in winegrowing farms of northern Apulia, southern Italy. Results make it possible to investigate whether and how different irrigation supply systems interact with the management of productive factors and inputs, so as to understand complex and wider impacts of policies on costs and revenues of farms in the short and long run. Economic efficiency, used as impact index, can provide useful information for assessing the multiannual performance in several post-2020 CAP contexts and in connection to the related specific objectives. In particular, this index could be applied to assess the policy performance on farm scale in connection to the supporting of viable farm income; to the enhancement of market orientation and competitiveness; to the improvement of farmers’ position in the value chain; to the adoption of climate change mitigation and adaptation measures; to the preservation of natural resources; to the employment of young farmers; to the development of rural areas; to the improvement of agricultural response to community demands on food, health and animal welfare., DOI:10.30858/RAD/2020/17.0100

Apulia is the fifth Italian region in terms of irrigated area and irrigation water used in agriculture. However, inefficiencies in the management of the regional irrigation consortia force most of farmers to use groundwater by private wells, with negative consequences on soil and crop characteristics, and with grave desertification risk. In the first instance, through a choice experiment survey, the study investigated the aptitude of the regional farmers toward the abandonment of their farm wells in exchange for an improved consortium irrigation network and additional services. In order to estimate the ornamental value of trees, many countries use specific parametric methods, which however are based on a subjective choice of parameters and assignment of respective weights. Aim of the paper is the overcoming of the above limits through the implementation of a different methodological path based on Choice Experiments. In recent years, the cliffs along the coastal stretch of Melendugno are being interested by coastal erosion. For its environmental, landscape and tourist value, the local authorities are planning several actions to be implemented in the short, medium and long term as part of one of the five regional projects included in the new Territorial Landscape Plan of Apulia. The paper aims to verify the effective interest of residents and tourists in the province of Lecce towards the renovation and upgrading projects for the cliffs of Melendugno through the choice experiment (CE). In recent years, the media impact of the damage from electromagnetic fields generated by high voltage power lines on human health has grown considerably. Hence, judges increasingly require the assessment of the compensation concerning the land depreciation for the “perception” of the health risk from land market operators, regardless of the land use and the ascertainment of the health damage. The aim of this paper is the assessment of the “perceptive” devaluation of the Apulia agricultural lands in the presence of high voltage power lines and for different crop systems, in order to present a methodological approach that could support the experts appointed by judges. In the last twenty years in real estate appraisal there has been a growing interest for new and reliable assessment techniques essentially through the introduction of pluriparametric estimate, in particular of linear regression. However, also these techniques seem having not a great deal of adherence to very complex markets, for which the detection of best suited techniques to investigate market segments is necessary. The aim of the research is to test the applicative possibilities of model tree to land market, in order to highlight possible market segments in the original data set not detectable a priori.

For a qualitative leap in the processes of land reorganization, the territory and the community should be regarded as part of an information process through which the human capital deploys all its potential (information society). As a natural consequence, a new identity can be sketched as territory-community-development, resting upon the capability to absorb, process and transfer knowledge for a participated representation of reality, that is reality proposes itself as a social construction synthetically mirrored in a text-project. In this paper we tried essentially to propose some solutions to identify the models needed to match programmatic 'agreements' and linguistic 'agreements'. The aim is twofold: 1) to implement land reorganization through a semeiotic design in order to plan a path whereby individual needs and interests can comply with community needs and interests; 2) on account of the sustainability prerequisite, to allow innovation and conservation to coexist in the town centre in order to respond more effectively to the growing and ever more urgent needs of population.

Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) has elevated commercial value due to its health appeal, desirable characteristics and quantitatively limited production, and thus it has become an object of intentional adulteration. As EVOOs on the market might consist of a blend of olive varieties or sometimes even of a mixture of oils from different botanical species, an array of DNA-fingerprinting methods have been developed to check the varietal composition of the blend. Starting from a comparison between publicly available DNA extraction protocols, we set up a timely, low-cost, reproducible and effective DNA isolation protocol, which allows an adequate amount of DNA to be recovered even from commercial filtered EVOOs. Then, in order to verify the effectiveness of the DNA extraction protocol herein proposed, we applied PCR-based fingerprinting methods starting from the DNA extracted from three EVOO samples of unknown composition. In particular, genomic regions harboring nine simple sequence repeats (SSRs) and eight genotyping-by-sequencing-derived single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers were amplified for authentication and traceability of the three EVOO samples. The whole investigation strategy herein described might favor producers in terms of higher revenues and consumers in terms of price transparency and food safety.
