Abstract

Since the late 1800s, fingerprints have been used as a technique of identifying persons. Biometrics technology, which employs physical or behavioral features to identify people, is gaining popularity as a reliable and effective method of personal verification that aids in the identification of a real person. As a result, utilizing MATLAB, this study provides an effective method for automating fingerprint recognition for the verification and authentication of specific people. Human fingerprints contain minute characteristics known as minutiae that can be utilized as identity marks for fingerprint verification. Fingerprint identification is amongst the most effective and popular biometrics, due to their distinctiveness and stability over time. But due to developments in computing power, they have only recently become automated (i.e., biometric). Fingerprint recognition software comes in a number of types and sizes, and it can be utilized for a wide range of purposes. One of the most stimulating pattern recognition problems is fingerprint recognition. The Fingerprint Recognition system consists of three steps. Pre-processing increases binarization and thins the fingerprint image in the first step. The second process is the Feature Extraction Stage, involving the employment of minutiae extractor techniques for extracting ridge termination and ridge bifurcation from the thinned image. The third process is matching (identification and verification), which requires using the minutiae matcher process, that uses distance and similarity metrics to match two minutiae points. Fingerprint images from the FVC2002 database are used to evaluate the algorithm's accuracy and reliability. Abstract

Skin beauty is a primary need for women, and it caused the cosmetic market to increase significantly for domestic and foreign brands throughout the year. There has been abuse by irresponsible entrepreneurs by selling and producing skin care products that do not meet Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) requirements. The focus of this review is to find out how the legal review of dangerous skincare users in the perspective of Islamic law and consumer protection act (Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 8 Year 1999 concerning Consumer Protection). The research method used in this study is normative juridical research with statutory and conceptual approach. The results of the study show that Islam provides more protection for women and there are internal and external legal protections in Indonesia for skincare users.

Abstract

The regulation in the Marriage Law Chapter 29 Verse (1) after Constitutional Court Decision Number 69/PUU/XII/2015 has been change into the process of marriage agreement. In the marriage agreement that legalized into Constitutional Court Number 69/PUU/XII/2015 can only be made before the marriage takes place. However, when the Constitutional Court Decision Number 69/PUU/XII/2015 arrives, a marriage agreement can be made as long as the marriage has taken place. The decision of the Constitutional Court Number 69/PUU/XII/2015 also gives a new authority to the Notary to be able to ratify the marriage agreement. Article 29 paragraph (1) of the Marriage Law after the Constitutional Court Decision Number 69/PUU/XII/2015 has provided changes after the Constitutional Court Decision Number 69/PUU/XII/2015 regarding the form of the marriage agreement in the form of a written agreement and must be ratified by the employee The marriage registrar has often been misinterpreted as an authentic deed, resulting in disharmony of implementing regulations related to the form of the marriage agreement.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out about the simple evidentiary regulations in Law Number 37 of 2004 concerning Bankruptcy and PKPU. In addition, to find out the formal evidence as well as the judge's legal considerations in the decision to postpone the payment of debt obligations that ended in bankruptcy at PT. Sarana Yeoman Sembada. This research uses normative legal research. The results of this study are that the simple evidence referred to in the determination of bankruptcy is also contained in the PKPU arrangement in Article 222 of the Bankruptcy Law and PKPU. In addition, the Bilyet Giro submitted in the PKPU application against PT. Sarana Yeoman Sembada is invalid as evidence because it does not meet the formal requirements of the Bilyet Giro and violates the provisions contained in the Bankruptcy Law and PKPU, so that the bankruptcy decision given by the Panel of Judges to PT. Sarana Yeoman Sembada was declared wrong because the application which was granted by the Panel of Judges came from an application submitted by the Petitioner who had no legal standing.

Abstract

Porous borders continue to be the principal source and conduit for small arms and light weapons (SALWs) throughout Africa, particularly Nigeria. Presently, Nigeria's security environment is severely endangered by the operations of the Boko Haram insurgent group, which often uses smuggled firearms and ammunition. Scholars have paid little attention to analyzing the smuggling problem in SALWs and their threat to Nigeria's internal security amid the Boko Haram menace. This study addresses the SALWs smuggling, and Boko Haram challenges to Nigerian security by using the Benin-Nigerian Porous Border as a case study. This paper discovers that the porous Nigeria-Benin border and the lackadaisical attitude of both governments have enabled transnational crime of the Boko-Haram sect. The paper recommends adequate coordination between security services and residents to battle the scourge of cross-border proliferation of small guns and light weapons between Benin and Nigeria. This study recommends a West African regional security network structure to regulate borders and coordinate security to curb SALWs and other criminal activities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
