ABSTRACT The hairy-tailed bolo mouse, Necromys lasiurus (Lund, 1841), which is typical of the Cerrado (CE), has been recorded in some open areas within the Atlantic Forest (AF) domain of the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro (RJ). In the CE, N. lasiurus is a known reservoir of zoonotic agents, and is the reservoir of an orthohantavirus genotype, Araraquara virus (ARAV), the etiological agent of Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS). Given this, the presence of N. lasiurus has potentially negative implications for public health in the state, and therefore it is important to elucidate the origin of its populations in RJ and their connections with populations outside the AF known to carry the ARAV. In the present study we combined phylogenetic and phylogeographic approaches to elucidate the evolutionary history of N. lasiurus populations in RJ, and to test if their dispersal into the AF domain is recent or ancient. These analyses were based on sequences of the mitochondrial Cytochrome b gene, obtained from N. lasiurus specimens from the Atlantic Forest of Rio de Janeiro (AF-RJ), together with all the sequences of this gene available for N. lasiurus in GenBank. In addition to the phylogenetic and phylogeographic analyses, the sequences were used to test among five hypothetical demographic scenarios, proposed to explain the evolutionary history of the hairy-tailed bolo mouse in the state of RJ. The results of all the analyses indicated that populations from AF and the Arid Diagonal (AD) of South America, which includes the CE, diverged in the Late Pleistocene but reconnected in the Holocene. The RJ population (AF-RJ) resulted from this recent genetic admixture among diverging populations from AF and AD. Despite the recent reconnection, no evidence has been found that the AF-RJ N. lasiurus population acts as a reservoir of ARAV, although the continued genetic connectivity with those from AD highlight the need to reinforce the public health monitoring of orthohantavirus in this rodent, especially given the potential spillover of other genotypes. Overall, then, the results of the present study provide important new insights into the evolutionary history of N. lasiurus, which should contribute to the surveillance of orthohantaviruses, and the development of more effective measures for the prevention and control of this zoonosis.

Teaching practices constitute a dynamic performance with the capacity for transformation, the evolution of human consciousness, autonomy, leadership and conscious commitment to strategic intervention with a holistic vision in the process of teaching and educating that generates emotionally healthy spaces to “learn to learn”, to do, to coexist, to be and to undertake the student. In this context, the article reports research that had the purpose of measuring and modeling the meanings of university teaching practices in the complexity of the educational process of comprehensive competency training. To do this, 25 professors from Latin American universities were surveyed regarding the impact of today's university graduates in the region on social life, technology, and entrepreneurship. The plithogenic Iadov technique was introduced to process the data, where the Iadov logic chart becomes mainly Plithogenic Inconsistent Picture Fuzzy Numbers. We consider that the theory of plithogeny makes a formal approach to complex phenomena because it generalizes dynamic systems.

Fundamento: el mundo aún vive un gran problema de salud pública, el Sars-Cov-2 causa la enfermedad COVID-19, que produce principalmente infecciones respiratorias, con disnea, tos, fiebre e intolerancia al ejercicio; deja una gama de deficiencias con secuelas físicas a corto y largo plazo, que afectan la condición física y la fuerza de agarre de mano.Objetivo: determinar características, así como relación entre la distancia recorrida y la fuerza de agarre manual en pacientes que padecieron COVID-19. Métodos: estudio descriptivo, correlacional, transversal, realizado en el Centro de Rehabilitación Respiratoria Privado, de Lima, entre enero y marzo del año 2021. Participaron 88 pacientes mayores de 20 años, hemódinamicamente estables, con 30 días de evolución después del alta. Fueron evaluados con la prueba de caminata de 6 minutos (C6M) y fuerza de agarre medida con dinamómetro Camry. Resultados: la edad media fue 61,7±14,5. El grupo más afectado fue el mayor de 50 años. El sexo masculino, tiempo de internamiento en Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos e índice de masa corporal fueron factores influyentes en los pacientes que padecieron COVID-19. Se evidenció relación entre la distancia recorrida y la fuerza de agarre, pConclusiones: existe correlación entre la fuerza de agarre de mano baja y normal y la distancia recorrida en los pacientes que han padecido COVID-19.

El mundo cada vez es más complejo y preocupado por los recursos que la compone, la actual pandemia COVID-19 evidencia que no sólo las empresas sino también los países se ven envueltos en una competición a todos los niveles para convertirse en referencia impactando en las 3 dimensiones (económica, social y ambiental). El propósito de la presente investigación fue analizar las principales motivaciones que llevan las empresas con certificación B en América Latina. La metodología fue cualitativa bajo el método de teoría fundamentada, la unidad de análisis estuvo correspondida por 183 empresas bajo criterios de exclusión como: Pertenecer a las industrias de educación, turismo y hotelería, y apoyo a los emprendimientos, pertenecer a solo países de Latinoamérica y tener la certificación B. Los principales hallazgos fueron que las Empresas B responsables desarrollan una economía más inclusiva, sostenible y respetuosa con el medio ambiente en beneficio de la sociedad, que van más allá de la noción de Responsabilidad Social Empresarial. Las conclusiones evidencian que estas empresas se alejan de las empresas tradicionales, puesto que combinan el desarrollo social y el crecimiento económico posicionando a los países que tienen este tipo de empresas como referentes.

Simple Summary: A 90-day mortality predictive model for curative gastric cancer resection based on the Spanish EURECCA Esophagogastric Cancer database was externally validated using the GASTRODATA registry. The externally validated model showed a modestly worse performance compared to the original model, nevertheless maintaining its discriminating ability in clinical practice. Background: Radical gastrectomy remains the main treatment for gastric cancer, despite its high mortality. A clinical predictive model of 90-day mortality (90DM) risk after gastric cancer surgery based on the Spanish EURECCA registry database was developed using a matching learning algorithm. We performed an external validation of this model based on data from an international multicenter cohort of patients. Methods: A cohort of patients from the European GASTRODATA database was selected. Demographic, clinical, and treatment variables in the original and validation cohorts were compared. The performance of the model was evaluated using the area under the curve (AUC) for a random forest model. Results: The validation cohort included 2546 patients from 24 European hospitals. The advanced clinical T- and N-category, neoadjuvant therapy, open procedures, total gastrectomy rates, and mean volume of the centers were significantly higher in the validation cohort. The 90DM rate was also higher in the validation cohort (5.6%) vs. the original cohort (3.7%). The AUC in the validation model was 0.716. Conclusion: The externally validated model for predicting the 90DM risk in gastric cancer patients undergoing gastrectomy with curative intent continues to be as useful as the original model in clinical practice. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo describir una propuesta metodológica que muestre los procedimientos tecno-operativos a seguir en la investigación cualitativa-naturalista en las ciencias gerenciales. Para ello, se presenta una descripción procedimental y aplicada en un estudio que busca develar los factores que generan satisfacción laboral en la fábrica de calzado Acosta. Se seleccionaron 3 trabajadores según criterios de inclusión y exclusión (saturación de datos). Los mismos se sometieron a un proceso de codificación, análisis e interpretación de los hallazgos significativos del estudio, a la luz del contexto desarrollado (relativización). Los resultados muestran una ruta investigativa cualitativa-naturalista que constituye una estrategia tecno-metodológica efectiva para abordar problemas de investigación complejos en las ciencias sociales y gerenciales, que concibe la integración de técnicas, herramientas y análisis secuenciales para interpretar y comprender el fenómeno social. Se concluye en una ruta de 4 fases: Entrevistas espontaneas categoriales, como producto del pilotaje de la pregunta de investigación a informantes clave-primario y surgimiento de categorías apriorísticas (entrevistas semiestructuradas); Codificación, emergen códigos abiertos, asociados con categorías orientadoras (enraizamiento y densidad); Análisis, se presentan redes semánticas, tablas código-documento, coocurrencia de códigos; e, Interpretación, según la relativización del contexto y sujetos intervinientes para responder a la pregunta de investigación.

The predominant landscape of the Atlantic Forest of the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro is made up of forest fragments surrounded by a matrix of modified habitat, which may influence the occurrence and distribution of host species and their parasites in comparison with the original continuous forest. The present study describes the structure, composition, and diversity of the helminth community found in rodents in two areas of an open matrix of different status of conservation. The abundance, intensity, and prevalence were calculated for each helminth species in rodent species. The influence of biotic and abiotic factors on the abundance and prevalence of the helminth species was also investigated. Community structure was analyzed based on the beta diversity and a bipartite network. Nine helminth species were recovered from Akodon cursor, Necromys lasiurus and Mus musculus, with the greatest helminth species richness being recorded in A. cursor (S = 8), followed by N. lasiurus (S = 6), and M. musculus (S = 3). Only three of the helminths recorded in A. cursor had been recorded previously in this rodent in the Atlantic Forest, where 12 different helminths have been recorded, so that the other five are new occurrences for this rodent. All the helminth species of N. lasiurus had been reported previously in this rodent in the Cerrado and Caatinga regions. Mus musculus was infected with the same helminths as the local fauna. Host species and locality were the most important factors influencing helminth abundance and prevalence. Beta-diversity was high for infracommunities indicating more substitutions of helminth species than losses among individuals. Three helminths species were shared by the three host species. The reduced beta-diversity observed in the component communities was consistent with the overlap observed in the helminth fauna of the host species.

Fundamento: El dormir adecuadamente es una necesidad fisiológica de primer orden. Cuestiones tan cotidianas como la carga académica, tareas domésticas, o el trabajo nocturno, contribuyen a que algunos se priven de las horas de sueño recomendadas, y ello trae consecuencias para la salud, el estado anímico, y la inteligencia emocional.Objetivo: describir la relación entre la somnolencia diurna y la inteligencia emocional en estudiantes universitarios.Métodos: estudio descriptivo, correlacional, con 140 alumnos del sexto al décimo ciclo de la carrera de Terapia Física y Rehabilitación, en la Universidad Norbert Wiener, Lima, Perú. Se aplicó la escala de somnolencia de Epworth para evaluar la somnolencia diurna, y la Trait Meta Mood Scale para inteligencia emocional. Mediante la prueba estadística Rho de Spearman, se evaluó la correlación entre variables.Resultados: la edad media de los estudiantes fue 25,73 ± 4,2 años, y un promedio de horas de sueño de 5,86±1,28. El valor medio de somnolencia diurna fue 9,95±3,6; esta fue ligera en la mayoría de los casos (69,65 %). La inteligencia emocional presentó un valor medio de 78,66±13,08, y fue el factor reparación el de mayor puntuación (28,36±5,63), seguido de la claridad (25,91±5,58) y la atención (24,38±5,50). Se observó una correlación negativa débil entre la somnolencia diurna y la inteligencia emocional (p= 0,058).Conclusión: la somnolencia diurna tiene consecuencias en el comportamiento de las reacciones comprendidas por la inteligencia emocional. Los estudiantes universitarios de Terapia Física y Rehabilitación analizados se caracterizan fundamentalmente por presentar somnolencia diurna ligera e inteligencia emocional adecuada.

Este artigo visa abordar a Educação Patrimonial no Brasil tendo como base a análise de documentos produzidos pelo IPHAN (Instituto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional) e a revisão bibliográfica de estudos de pesquisadores sobre o tema enquanto metodologia, partindo da problematização da relação da educação patrimonial como prática de liberdade. Como resultado, foram apresentadas discussões de termos desenvolvidos por Paulo Freire para pensar uma educação patrimonial crítica, inclusiva e democrática em oposição a uma educação patrimonial conservadora.
