Nos últimos anos, a Qualidade nas Organizações Escolares tem adquirido grande relevância no debate e no discurso da Política Educativa em Portugal na sequência da crescente e gradual cedência de autonomia às Escolas. Este movimento surgiu da crescente necessidade de satisfazer as expectativas dos stakeholders, da progressiva importância da assunção dos valores da responsabilidade social e prestação de contas na Cultura das Organizações. O mérito e os resultados da Qualidade ao nível empresarial têm contagiado a administração pública em geral, e as Organizações Escolares em particular, na esteira das novas tendências da Gestão em busca da Excelência. Esta visão direcciona as Organizações Escolares a adoptar metodologias e práticas mais eficientes e eficazes, melhorando continuamente os seus processos, indo ao encontro das necessidades e aspirações dos diferentes actores educativos e da comunidade local. Neste contexto, a Avaliação Interna poderá assumir-se como um forte instrumento de Gestão da Qualidade, promovendo a aprendizagem organizacional, a melhoria da Qualidade e o desenvolvimento da Organização Escolar. A abordagem à Gestão da Qualidade pressupõe a mobilização da Liderança e dos colaboradores da Escola na mudança contínua e permanente das práticas, atitudes e comportamentos consubstanciados num conjunto de crenças, valores e princípios, sem os quais, não se conseguirá consolidar uma Cultura Organizacional Escolar orientada para a Qualidade. Se por um lado, a Cultura Organizacional Escolar poderá facilitar e potenciar programas de Gestão de Qualidade como a Avaliação Interna, por outro lado, a Cultura Organizacional Escolar deverá adaptar-se e ajustar-se à mudança que a melhoria de Qualidade representa. O presente estudo tem o propósito de verificar a contribuição da Avaliação Interna na melhoria da Qualidade e do desempenho das Escolas, analisando os seus efeitos na Cultura Organizacional Escolar e na Gestão da Qualidade da Organização Escolar.

A total of 39 species of Stomatopoda were previously reported from marine and estuarine habitats of Brazilian waters. The present checklist is based on material deposited in the crustacean collection of Museu de Oceanografia Petrônio Alves Coelho, Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, city of Recife, Brazil (MOUFPE). The collection, deriving primarily from the northern and northeastern coast of Brazil, includes 667 samples and 1.301 specimens, distributed in four superfamilies, seven families, 14 genera and 33 species, including one holotype and two paratype. Apparent distribution gaps for five-species were filled. Two Brazilian endemic species had their southern geographical ranges increased (Neogonodactylus moraisi (Fausto Filho & Lemos de Castro, 1973) and Nannosquilla dacostai Manning, 1970) and one was recorded for the first time from northeast Brazilian waters [Alima neptuni (Linnaeus, 1768)]. There are now 42 species of Stomatopoda recorded from the Brazilian coast.

ECHINOPSYLLUS SARS, 1909 Diagnosis: Body cylindrical, tapering slightly posteriorly, without clear demarcation between prosome and urosome; body ornate with series of produced conical processes, each bearing unmodified sensilla apically. Cephalothorax with two to three pairs of lateral and two pairs of dorsal conical processes. Second pair of dorsal cephalothoracic processes branched. Thoracic somites bearing P2–P5 each with paired dorsal conical processes; P6-bearing somite (genital half of double-somite in female) without produced processes. First abdominal somite (abdominal half of double-somite in female) and second abdominal somite with basally fused pair of divergent, conical processes. Remaining integumental sensilla modified, branched. Somatic hyaline frills weakly developed and smooth. Body somites, swimming legs, P5 and furcal rami with conspicuous tube-pores. Anal operculum rounded with fine setules. Furcal rami elongate and divergent, with seven setae; setae I and II inserted in median third of ramus, seta III sub-distal; seta IV reduced, fused basally to seta V; seta V well developed, pinnate; seta VI reduced; seta VII inserted in median third of ramus, triarticulate at base. Sexual dimorphism in body size, degree of development of cephalothoracic posterodorsal processes and dorsal processes of P2–P3 bearing somites, rostrum size, antennule, P3 endopod, P5, P6, genital segmentation and abdominal ornamentation. Rostrum moderate in size, discernible in dorsal aspect; fused to cephalic shield; with paired bulbous membranous projections proximal to sensilla; with long distinctive midventral tube-pore subdistally. Antennule four-segmented in female, eightsegmented and subchirocer in male (with three segments distal to geniculation); aesthetasc arising from segments 3 and 4 in female, segments 5 and 8 in male; segment 2 (both sexes) with one subapical anterior seta arising from distinctive spinous projection. Antenna with allobasis showing partial suture along exopodal margin, abexopodal margin with two setae of which endopodal one reduced; exopod entirely absent; endopod with three lateral and six distal elements (two spines and three geniculate setae, longest one fused basally to tiny naked seta). Mandible with robust coxa bearing short pinnate dorsal seta; palp one-segmented, uniramous with two to four setae. Maxillule with one element on coxal endite; basis with three elements on proximal endite; exopod and endopod completely incorporated into basis, each represented by one seta. Maxillary syncoxa with two well-developed endites, each with one to two elements; allobasis drawn out into claw with three accessory elements; endopod minute with two setae. Maxilliped subchelate, slender; syncoxa without armature; endopod drawn out into long narrow, curved claw with one reduced accessory seta. P1–P4. Intercoxal sclerites wide and narrow; praecoxae moderately developed; coxa small, quadrangular, bases extremely transversely elongate. P1 exopod three-segmented; exp 3 with three to five geniculate setae; endopod absent, original position indicated by slightly membranous area. P2–P4 exopods threesegmented; endopods absent (P2), one to twosegmented (P 3 female and P 4 male); P2–P4 exp 2 with or without inner seta. P3 endopod male threesegmented; enp 2 elongate, dorsal surface produced distally into recurved apophysis; enp 3 with two apical setae. In this study, results are presented concerning the population dynamics of the meiobenthic copepod Nannopus palustris in the oligo-mesohaline area of the Gironde estuary, France. Samples were taken weekly during one year (April 1992 to April 1993). Stage-specific birth and mortality rates were calculated using the Argentesi model. Clutch size, percentage of ovigerous females and sex ratio of the Nannopus palustris population showed clear seasonal variations strongly related to temperature. Other factors like salinity or chlorophyll-a were also significantly related to these population parameters. The development time field data obtained for Nannopus palustris was also significantly related to temperature. Fecundity, or egg production rate, and instantaneous birth rate showed strong variations throughout the year. In this study specific mortality rates for nauplius, copepodite and adult animals were estimated for the first time for a benthic harpacticoid. All models indicate that the nauplius stage suffers higher mortality as compared to copepodite stages or adults. Waves or peaks of mortality were detected for all stages and were probably related to the moulting process associated to the progression of different abundance pulses. All results indicate that the population increase is not food limited during the year, being mainly temperature controlled.
