We classify the hypersurfaces of $\mathbb{Q}^3\times\mathbb{R}$ with three distinct constant principal curvatures, where $\varepsilon \in \{1,-1\}$ and $\mathbb{Q}^3$ denotes the unit sphere $\mathbb{S}^3$ if $\varepsilon = 1$, whereas it denotes the hyperbolic space $\mathbb{H}^3$ if $\varepsilon = -1$. We show that they are cylinders over isoparametric surfaces in $\mathbb{Q}^3$, filling an intriguing gap in the existing literature. We also prove that the hypersurfaces with constant principal curvatures of $\mathbb{Q}^3\times\mathbb{R}$ are isoparametric. Furthermore, we provide the complete classification of the extrinsically homogeneous hypersurfaces in $\mathbb{Q}^3\times\mathbb{R}$.

In this work, we developed a cosmological model in $ f(Q, C) $ gravity within the framework of symmetric teleparallel geometry. In addition to the non-metricity scalar $Q $, our formulation includes the boundary term $ C $, which accounts for its deviation from the standard Levi-Civita Ricci scalar $ R^* $ in the Lagrangian. We derived the field equations for the metric and affine connection, employed them within a cosmological setting, and a vanishing affine connection to derive modified Friedmann equations. We used the latest observational dataset OHD in the redshift range $ z \in [0, 2.36]$, Pantheon + SH0ES in the redshift range $ z \in (0.01, 2.26)$, BAO, and the joint datasets OHD + Pantheon + SH0ES and OHD + Pantheon + SH0ES + BAO to constrain the parameters of our model by employing Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method to minimize the $\chi^2$ term. Using the constrained free model parameters, we carefully analyzed the behavior of different physical parameters and verified that the model transits from deceleration to acceleration. Finally, we observed that the model demonstrates an expanding quintessence dark energy model and converges to the $ \Lambda $CDM in later times., Comment: 19 pages, 18 figures

We study electromagnetic radiation reaction on a charged particle around a weakly magnetized Kerr black hole. We solve numerically the Teukolsky equation to find energy fluxes in electromagnetic radiation at the horizon and at spatial infinity. We also employ analytical methods in the low-frequency limit, finding excellent agreement with the numerical results. For a wide range of parameters, energy fluxes on the horizon are negative for all orbital radii: the modes are amplified through superradiance. More interestingly, the flux on the horizon is larger (in absolute value) than the flux at infinity for orbits with orbital radius $r_0 \gtrsim 9M$ -- floating orbits are a generic outcome of having magnetic fields around black holes. Particles on these orbits extract energy from the BH through their radiation field; the net effect is an increase in the particles' kinetic energy, so that they outspiral to infinity. Although in realistic accretion disks viscous forces are expected to dominate, floating orbits remain an interesting feature of the existence of ergoregions in black hole spacetimes., Comment: 9 pages, 5 figures. In this investigation, we perform an observational statistical analysis in the theory of $ f(R, L_m) $ gravity. The proposed theoretical model is based on the Ricci scalar's non-linear contribution. We use a distinct parameterization for the deceleration parameter and constrain the model parameters by using various observational data. To determine the best-fit model for the cosmological parameters, we use different observational datasets such as the Hubble Space Telescope, the Pantheon Supernova Survey, the Gold dataset, the Gamma-Ray Burst (GRB), and the Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO). Furthermore, we study the late-time cosmic evolution of the Universe in detail and examine the implications of the constraint values on cosmological parameters. Additionally, we conduct a thorough comparison with the standard cosmological model $ \Lambda $CDM and other standard models obtained by Odintsov et al. \cite{Odintsov:2023cli, Odintsov:2024lid} to examine the validity of our proposed model in the low-redshift regimes. Finally, we find that the proposed model encapsulates an intriguing transition from early deceleration at high redshift to acceleration at low redshift, a quintessence dark energy scenario, and convergence towards the well-established $ \Lambda $CDM model in late-time Universe's evolution., Comment: 18 pages, 15 figures

This paper presents an experimental study on mmWave beam profiling on a mmWave testbed, and develops a machine learning model for beamforming based on the experiment data. The datasets we have obtained from the beam profiling and the machine learning model for beamforming are valuable for a broad set of network design problems, such as network topology optimization, user equipment association, power allocation, and beam scheduling, in complex and dynamic mmWave networks. We have used two commercial-grade mmWave testbeds with operational frequencies on the 27 Ghz and 71 GHz, respectively, for beam profiling. The obtained datasets were used to train the machine learning model to estimate the received downlink signal power, and data rate at the receivers (user equipment with different geographical locations in the range of a transmitter (base station). The results have shown high prediction accuracy with low mean square error (loss), indicating the model's ability to estimate the received signal power or data rate at each individual receiver covered by a beam. The focus of this article is on a modification of General Relativity (GR) governed by a dynamical scalar field. The latter is able to acquire a nonzero spacetime-dependent vacuum expectation value, which gives rise to a spontaneous violation of spacetime symmetries. Based on the (3+1) decomposition, we demonstrate how to develop the Hamiltonian formulation for this model. Having done so, our primary interest is to understand how spontaneous spacetime symmetry violation manifests itself in such a setting. In particular, we find that the constraint structure of GR is preserved, although the constraints are clearly modified by the scalar background field. These results emphasize the beauty of spontaneous spacetime symmetry violation in gravity from the viewpoint of the Hamiltonian formulation. They may pose the base for further studies of more sophisticated models of vector and higher-rank tensor fields. The Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) Alliance proposes an open architecture that disaggregates the RAN and supports executing custom control logic in near-real time from third-party applications, the xApps. Despite O-RAN's efforts, the creation of xApps remains a complex and time-consuming endeavor, aggravated by the sometimes fragmented, outdated, or deprecated documentation from the O-RAN Software Community (OSC). These challenges hinder academia and industry from developing and validating solutions and algorithms on O-RAN networks. This tutorial addresses this gap by providing the first comprehensive guide for developing xApps to manage the O-RAN ecosystem from theory to practice. We provide a thorough theoretical foundation of the O-RAN architecture and detail the functionality offered by Near Real-Time RAN Intelligent Controller (Near-RT RIC) components. We examine the xApp design and configuration. We explore the xApp lifecycle and demonstrate how to deploy and manage xApps on a Near-RT RIC. We address the xApps' interfaces and capabilities, accompanied by practical examples. We provide comprehensive details on how xApps can control the RAN. We discuss debugging strategies and good practices to aid the xApp developers in testing their xApps. Finally, we review the current landscape and open challenges for creating xApps.

Research on supervised learning algorithms in 3D scene understanding has risen in prominence and witness great increases in performance across several datasets. The leading force of this research is the problem of autonomous driving followed by indoor scene segmentation. However, openly available 3D data on these tasks mainly focuses on urban scenarios. In this paper, we propose TS40K, a 3D point cloud dataset that encompasses more than 40,000 Km on electrical transmission systems situated in European rural terrain. This is not only a novel problem for the research community that can aid in the high-risk mission of power-grid inspection, but it also offers 3D point clouds with distinct characteristics from those in self-driving and indoor 3D data, such as high point-density and no occlusion. In our dataset, each 3D point is labeled with 1 out of 22 annotated classes. We evaluate the performance of state-of-the-art methods on our dataset concerning 3D semantic segmentation and 3D object detection. Finally, we provide a comprehensive analysis of the results along with key challenges such as using labels that were not originally intended for learning tasks.

Multiple visions of 6G networks elicit Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a central, native element. When 6G systems are deployed at a large scale, end-to-end AI-based solutions will necessarily have to encompass both the radio and the fiber-optical domain. This paper introduces the Decentralized Multi-Party, Multi-Network AI (DMMAI) framework for integrating AI into 6G networks deployed at scale. DMMAI harmonizes AI-driven controls across diverse network platforms and thus facilitates networks that autonomously configure, monitor, and repair themselves. This is particularly crucial at the network edge, where advanced applications meet heightened functionality and security demands. The radio/optical integration is vital due to the current compartmentalization of AI research within these domains, which lacks a comprehensive understanding of their interaction. Our approach explores multi-network orchestration and AI control integration, filling a critical gap in standardized frameworks for AI-driven coordination in 6G networks. The DMMAI framework is a step towards a global standard for AI in 6G, aiming to establish reference use cases, data and model management methods, and benchmarking platforms for future AI/ML solutions.

We study radiation from charged particles in circular motion around a Schwarzschild black hole immersed in an asymptotically uniform magnetic field. In curved space, the radiation reaction force is described by the DeWitt-Brehme equation, which includes a complicated, non-local tail term. We show that, contrary to some claims in the literature, this term cannot, in general, be neglected. We account for self-force effects directly by calculating the electromagnetic energy flux at infinity and on the horizon. The radiative field is obtained using black hole perturbation theory. We solve the relevant equations analytically, in the low-frequency and slow-motion approximation, as well as numerically in the general case. Our results show that great care must be taken when neglecting the tail term, which is often fundamental to capture the dynamics of the particle: in fact, it only seems to be negligible when the magnetic force greatly dominates the gravitational force, so that the motion is well described by the Abraham--Lorentz--Dirac equation. We also report a curious "horizon dominance effect" that occurs for a radiating particle in a circular orbit around a black hole (emitting either scalar, electromagnetic or gravitational waves): for fixed orbital radius, the fraction of energy that is absorbed by the black hole can be made arbitrarily large by decreasing the particle velocity., Comment: 18 pages, 6 figures. Understanding the physics of electromagnetic pulse emission and nozzle damage is critical for the long-term operation of laser experiments with gas targets, particularly at facilities looking to produce stable sources of radiation at high repetition rate. We present a theoretical model of plasma formation and electrostatic charging when high-power lasers are focused inside gases. The model can be used to estimate the amplitude of gigahertz electromagnetic pulses (EMPs) produced by the laser and the extent of damage to the gas jet nozzle. Looking at a range of laser and target properties relevant to existing high-power laser systems, we find that EMP fields of tens to hundreds of kV/m can be generated several metres from the gas jet. In this paper, we generalize to higher dimensions Robinson's approach to proving the uniqueness of connected $(3+1)$-dimensional static vacuum asymptotically flat black hole spacetimes. In consequence, we prove geometric inequalities for connected $(n+1)$-dimensional static vacuum asymptotically flat black holes, recovering results by Agostiniani and Mazzieri. We also obtain similar geometric inequalities for connected $(n+1)$-dimensional static vacuum asymptotically flat equipotential photon surfaces and in particular photon spheres. Assuming a natural upper bound on the total scalar curvature, we recover the well-known uniqueness results for such black holes and equipotential photon surfaces. We also extend the known equipotential photon surface uniqueness results to spacetimes with negative mass. In order to replace the role of the Cotton tensor in Robinson's proof, we introduce techniques inspired by the analysis of Ricci solitons.

Document management in the rental market is a critical process to ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and regulatory compliance in the sector. In Portugal, the challenges include the complexity of legislation, particularly GDPR non-compliance, lack of transparency, and bureaucratic process inefficiency. With this in mind, a solution based on Hyperledger Fabric, a blockchain platform, is presented for the implementation of a document management system for the rental process. This system oversees the rental process, which consists of three phases: the application for a property by the prospective tenant through the upload of necessary documents, acceptance/rejection by the landlord of various received applications, and the creation of a report by the system, which only the auditor can request and view. The system smart contract records metadata associated with the documents (hash, owner) and coordinates requests for file access by landlords to prospective tenants. Thus, the system is responsible for creating immutable and traceable records of the entire process. The underlying platform serves as the foundation for conducting future audits. After the landlord verifies the files and accepts the rental proposal, any authorised auditor can request a report for a property by accessing the records through the final report, which includes all events that occurred during the process., Comment: 10 pages

In this work, employing spin-pumping techniques driven by both ferromagnetic resonance (SP-FMR) and longitudinal spin Seebeck effect (LSSE) to manipulate and direct observe orbital currents, we investigated the volume conversion of spin-orbital currents into charge-current in YIG(100nm)/Pt(2nm)/NM2 structures, where NM2 represents Ti or Ru. While the YIG/Ti bilayer displayed a negligible SP-FMR signal, the YIG/Pt/Ti structure exhibited a significantly stronger signal attributed to the orbital Hall effect of Ti. Substituting the Ti layer with Ru revealed a similar phenomenon, wherein the effect is ascribed to the combined action of both spin and orbital Hall effects. Furthermore, we measured the SP-FMR signal in the YIG/Pt(2)/Ru(6)/Ti(6) and YIG/Pt(2)/Ti(6)/Ru(6) heterostructures by just altering the stack order of Ti and Ru layers, where the peak value of the spin pumping signal is larger for the first sample. To verify the influence on the oxidation of Ti and Ru films, we studied a series of thin films subjected to controlled and natural oxidation. As Cu and CuOx is a system that is already known to be highly influenced by oxidation, this metal was chosen to carry out this study. We investigated these samples using SP-FMR in YIG/Pt(2)/CuOx(tCu) and X-ray absorption spectroscopy and concluded that samples with natural oxidation of Cu exhibit more significant results than those when the CuOx is obtained by reactive sputtering. In particular, samples where the Cu layer is naturally oxidized exhibit a Cu2O-rich phase. Our findings help to elucidate the mechanisms underlying the inverse orbital Hall and inverse orbital Rashba-Edelstein-like effects. This work shows for the first time experimentally the close relation between return currents from relativistic laser-driven target polarization and the quality of the relativistic laser plasma interaction for laser driven secondary sources. Such currents rise in all interaction schemes where targets of any kind are charged by escaping laser-accelerated relativistic electrons. Therefore, return currents can be used as a metrological online tool in the optimization of many laser-driven secondary sources and for diagnosing their stability. We demonstrate the destruction free measurement of return currents at the example of a tape target system irradiated by the 1 PW VEGA3 laser at CLPU at its maximum capabilities for laser-driven ion acceleration. Such endeavour paves the ground for feedback systems that operate at the high-repetition-rate of PW-class laser systems.

In this study, we explore the impact of an additional dimension, as proposed in Kaluza-Klein's theory, on the Casimir effect within the context of Lorentz invariance violation (LIV), which is represented by the ``aether field''. We demonstrate that the Casimir energy is directly influenced by the presence of the fifth dimension, as well as by the aether parameter. Consequently, the force between the plates is also subject to variations of these parameters. Furthermore, we examine constraints on both the size of the extra dimension and the aether field parameter based on experimental data. The LIV parameter can provide insights into addressing the size-related challenges in Kaluza-Klein's theory and offers a mean to establish an upper limit on the size of the extra dimension. We report the first high-repetition rate generation and simultaneous characterization of nanosecond-scale return currents of kA-magnitude issued by the polarization of a target irradiated with a PW-class high-repetition-rate Ti:Sa laser system at relativistic intensities. We present experimental results obtained with the VEGA-3 laser at intensities from 5e18 - 1.3e20 W/cm2. A non-invasive inductive return-current monitor is adopted to measure the derivative of return-currents on the order of kA/ns and analysis methodology is developed to derive return-currents. We compare the current for copper, aluminium and Kapton targets at different laser energies. The data shows the stable production of current peaks and clear prospects for the tailoring of the pulse shape, promising for future applications in high energy density science, e.g. electromagnetic interference stress tests, high-voltage pulse response measurements, and charged particle beam lensing. We compare the target discharge of the order of hundreds of nC with theoretical predictions and a good agreement is found., Comment: submitted

First we survey and explain the strategy of some recent results that construct holomorphic $\text{sl}(2, \mathbb C)$-differential systems over some Riemann surfaces $\Sigma_g$ of genus $g\geq 2$, satisfying the condition that the image of the associated monodromy homomorphism is (real) Fuchsian \cite{BDHH} or some cocompact Kleinian subgroup $$\Gamma \subset \text{SL}(2, \mathbb C)$$ as in \cite{BDHH2}. As a consequence, there exist holomorphic maps from $\Sigma_g$ to the quotient space $\text{SL}(2, \mathbb C)/ \Gamma$, where $\Gamma \subset \text{SL}(2, \mathbb C)$ is a cocompact lattice, that do not factor through any elliptic curve \cite{BDHH2}. This answers positively a question of Ghys in \cite{Gh}; the question was also raised by Huckleberry and Winkelmann in \cite{HW}. Then we prove that when $M$ is a Riemann surface, a Torelli type theorem holds for the affine group scheme over $\mathbb C$ obtained from the category of holomorphic connections on {\it \'etale trivial} holomorphic bundles. After that, we explain how to compute in a simple way the holonomy of a holomorphic connection on a free vector bundle. Finally, for a compact K\"ahler manifold $M$, we investigate the neutral Tannakian category given by the holomorphic connections on \'etale trivial holomorphic bundles over $M$. If $\varpi$ (respectively, $\Theta$) stands for the affine group scheme over $\mathbb C$ obtained from the category of connections (respectively, connections on free (trivial) vector bundles), then the natural inclusion produces a morphism $v:{\mathcal O}(\Theta)\longrightarrow {\mathcal O}(\varpi)$ of Hopf algebras. In this paper, we study ends of complete gradient non-trivial Schouten solitons. Without any additional assumptions, we show the shrinking ones have finitely many ends, and the expanding ones are connected at infinity. We also provide information regarding the non-parabolicity of the ends in the shrinking setting, and on the behavior of the potential function and volume growth in the expanding case.

We prove that all ends of a gradient shrinking $\rho$-Einstein soliton are $\varphi$-non-parabolic, provided $\rho$ is nonnegative and the soliton has bounded and nonnegative scalar curvature, where the weight $\varphi$ is a negative multiple of the potential function. We also show these solitons are connected at infinity for $\rho \in\left[0,1/2(n-1)\right)$, $n\geq4$, and a suitable bound for the scalar curvature.

The Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) from Integrated Neutral Gas Observations (BINGO) radio telescope will use the neutral Hydrogen emission line to map the Universe in the redshift range $0.127 \le z \le 0.449$, with the main goal of probing BAO. In addition, the instrument optical design and hardware configuration support the search for Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs). In this work, we propose the use of a BINGO Interferometry System (BIS) including new auxiliary, smaller, radio telescopes (hereafter \emph{outriggers}). The interferometric approach makes it possible to pinpoint the FRB sources in the sky. We present here the results of several BIS configurations combining BINGO horns with and without mirrors ($4$ m, $5$ m, and $6$ m) and 5, 7, 9, or 10 for single horns. We developed a new {\tt Python} package, the {\tt FRBlip}, which generates synthetic FRB mock catalogs and computes, based on a telescope model, the observed signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) that we used to compute numerically the detection rates of the telescopes and how many interferometry pairs of telescopes (\emph{baselines}) can observe an FRB. FRBs observed by more than one baseline are the ones whose location can be determined. We thus evaluate the performance of BIS regarding FRB localization. We found that BIS will be able to localize 23 FRBs yearly with single horn outriggers in the best configuration (using 10 outriggers of 6 m mirrors), with redshift $z \leq 0.96$; the full localization capability depends on the number and the type of the outriggers. Wider beams are best to pinpoint FRB sources because potential candidates will be observed by more baselines, while narrow beams look deep in redshift. The BIS can be a powerful extension of the regular BINGO telescope, dedicated to observe hundreds of FRBs during Phase 1. In this work, we consider a propagating scalar field on Kaluza-Klein-type cosmological background. It is shown that this geometrical description of the Universe resembles - from a Hamiltonian standpoint - a damped harmonic oscillator with mass and frequency, both time-dependents. In this scenario, we construct the squeezed coherent states (SCSs) for the quantized scalar field by employing the invariant operator method of Lewis-Riesenfeld (non-Hermitian) in a non-unitary approach. The non-classicality of SCSs has been discussed by examining the quadrature squeezing properties from the uncertainty principle. Moreover, we compute the probability density, which allows us to investigate whether SCSs can be used to seek traces of extra dimensions. Few-shot anomaly detection (AD) is an emerging sub-field of general AD, and tries to distinguish between normal and anomalous data using only few selected samples. While newly proposed few-shot AD methods do compare against pre-existing algorithms developed for the full-shot domain as baselines, they do not dedicatedly optimize them for the few-shot setting. It thus remains unclear if the performance of such pre-existing algorithms can be further improved. We address said question in this work. Specifically, we present a study on the AD/anomaly segmentation (AS) performance of PatchCore, the current state-of-the-art full-shot AD/AS algorithm, in both the few-shot and the many-shot settings. We hypothesize that further performance improvements can be realized by (I) optimizing its various hyperparameters, and by (II) transferring techniques known to improve few-shot supervised learning to the AD domain. Exhaustive experiments on the public VisA and MVTec AD datasets reveal that (I) significant performance improvements can be realized by optimizing hyperparameters such as the underlying feature extractor, and that (II) image-level augmentations can, but are not guaranteed, to improve performance. Based on these findings, we achieve a new state of the art in few-shot AD on VisA, further demonstrating the merit of adapting pre-existing AD/AS methods to the few-shot setting. Last, we identify the investigation of feature extractors with a strong inductive bias as a potential future research direction for (few-shot) AD/AS.

In this text, we wish to provide the reader with a short guide to recent works on the theory of dilatations in Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry. These works fall naturally into two categories: one emphasises foundational and theoretical aspects and the other applications to existing theories.

Machine learning (ML) sensors are enabling intelligence at the edge by empowering end-users with greater control over their data. ML sensors offer a new paradigm for sensing that moves the processing and analysis to the device itself rather than relying on the cloud, bringing benefits like lower latency and greater data privacy. The rise of these intelligent edge devices, while revolutionizing areas like the internet of things (IoT) and healthcare, also throws open critical questions about privacy, security, and the opacity of AI decision-making. As ML sensors become more pervasive, it requires judicious governance regarding transparency, accountability, and fairness. To this end, we introduce a standard datasheet template for these ML sensors and discuss and evaluate the design and motivation for each section of the datasheet in detail including: standard dasheet components like the system's hardware specifications, IoT and AI components like the ML model and dataset attributes, as well as novel components like end-to-end performance metrics, and expanded environmental impact metrics. To provide a case study of the application of our datasheet template, we also designed and developed two examples for ML sensors performing computer vision-based person detection: one an open-source ML sensor designed and developed in-house, and a second commercial ML sensor developed by our industry collaborators.
