Abstract

The half-life of $^{39}$Ar is measured using the DEAP-3600 detector located 2 km underground at SNOLAB. In 2016-2020, DEAP-3600 used a target mass of (3269 $\pm$ 24) kg of liquid argon distilled from the atmosphere in a direct-detection dark matter search. Such an argon mass also enables direct measurements of argon isotope properties. The decay of $^{39}$Ar in DEAP-3600 is the dominant source of triggers by two orders of magnitude, ensuring high statistics and making DEAP-3600 well-suited for measuring this isotope's half-life. Use of the pulse-shape discrimination technique in DEAP-3600 allows for powerful discrimination between nuclear recoils and electron recoils, resulting in the selection of a clean sample of $^{39}$Ar decays. Observing over a period of 3.4 years, the $^{39}$Ar half-life is measured to be $(302 \pm 8_{\rm stat} \pm 6_{\rm sys})$ years. This new direct measurement suggests that the half-life of $^{39}$Ar may be significantly longer than the accepted value, with potential implications for measurements using this isotope's half-life as input., Comment: 11 pages, 8 figures

Abstract

DarkSide-20k is a novel liquid argon dark matter detector currently under construction at the Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso (LNGS) of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN) that will push the sensitivity for Weakly Interacting Massive Particle (WIMP) detection into the neutrino fog. The core of the apparatus is a dual-phase Time Projection Chamber (TPC), filled with \SI{50} {tonnes} of low radioactivity underground argon (UAr) acting as the WIMP target. NUV-HD-Cryo Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPM)s designed by Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) (Povo, Trento, Italy) were selected as the photon sensors covering two $10.5~\text{m}^2$ Optical Planes, one at each end of the TPC, and a total of $5~\text{m}^2$ photosensitive surface for the liquid argon veto detectors. This paper describes the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) plan and procedures accompanying the production of FBK~NUV-HD-Cryo SiPM wafers manufactured by LFoundry s.r.l. (Avezzano, AQ, Italy). SiPM characteristics are measured at 77~K at the wafer level with a custom-designed probe station. As of May~2024, 603 of the 1400 production wafers (43\% of the total) for DarkSide-20k were tested, including wafers from all 57 production Lots. The wafer yield is $93.6\pm2.5$\%, which exceeds the 80\% specification defined in the original DarkSide-20k production plan.

Abstract

The effectiveness of feedback in enhancing learning outcomes is well documented within Educational Data Mining (EDM). Various prior research has explored methodologies to enhance the effectiveness of feedback. Recent developments in Large Language Models (LLMs) have extended their utility in enhancing automated feedback systems. This study aims to explore the potential of LLMs in facilitating automated feedback in math education. We examine the effectiveness of LLMs in evaluating student responses by comparing 3 different models: Llama, SBERT-Canberra, and GPT4 model. The evaluation requires the model to provide both a quantitative score and qualitative feedback on the student's responses to open-ended math problems. We employ Mistral, a version of Llama catered to math, and fine-tune this model for evaluating student responses by leveraging a dataset of student responses and teacher-written feedback for middle-school math problems. A similar approach was taken for training the SBERT model as well, while the GPT4 model used a zero-shot learning approach. We evaluate the model's performance in scoring accuracy and the quality of feedback by utilizing judgments from 2 teachers. The teachers utilized a shared rubric in assessing the accuracy and relevance of the generated feedback. We conduct both quantitative and qualitative analyses of the model performance. Abstract

Children born via cesarean delivery have a higher risk of metabolic, immunological, and neurodevelopmental disorders compared to those born via vaginal delivery, although mechanisms remain unclear. We conducted a meta-analysis of epigenome-wide association studies to examine the associations between delivery mode and blood DNA methylation at birth and its persistence in early childhood. Participants were from 19 pregnancy cohorts (9833 term newborns) and 6 pediatric cohorts (2429 children aged 6 to 10 years). We identified six CpGs in cord blood associated with cesarean delivery (effect size range: 0.4 to 0.7%, P < 1.0 × 10-7): MAP2K2 (cg19423175), LIM2 (cg01500140), CNP (cg13917614), BLM (cg18247172), RASA3 (cg22348356), and RUNX3 (cg20674490), independent of cell proportions and other confounders. In childhood, none of these CpGs were associated with cesarean delivery, and no additional CpGs were identified. Delivery mode was associated with cell proportions at birth but not in childhood. Further research is needed to elucidate cesarean deliverys molecular influence on offspring health.

Abstract

DarkSide-20k (DS-20k) is a dark matter detection experiment under construction at the Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso (LNGS) in Italy. It utilises ~100 t of low radioactivity argon from an underground source (UAr) in its inner detector, with half serving as target in a dual-phase time projection chamber (TPC). The UAr cryogenics system must maintain stable thermodynamic conditions throughout the experiment's lifetime of >10 years. Continuous removal of impurities and radon from the UAr is essential for maximising signal yield and mitigating background. We are developing an efficient and powerful cryogenics system with a gas purification loop with a target circulation rate of 1000 slpm. Central to its design is a condenser operated with liquid nitrogen which is paired with a gas heat exchanger cascade, delivering a combined cooling power of >8 kW. Here we present the design choices in view of the DS-20k requirements, in particular the condenser's working principle and the cooling control, and we show test results obtained with a dedicated benchmarking platform at CERN and LNGS. We find that the thermal efficiency of the recirculation loop, defined in terms of nitrogen consumption per argon flow rate, is 95 % and the pressure in the test cryostat can be maintained within $\pm$(0.1-0.2) mbar. We further detail a 5-day cool-down procedure of the test cryostat, maintaining a cooling rate typically within -2 K/h, as required for the DS-20k inner detector. Abstract

We study the exclusive semileptonic decays $\Upsilon(1S)\to B_{(c)}\ell\bar{\nu}_\ell$, where $\ell = e,\mu,\tau$. The relevant hadronic form factors are calculated using the Covariant Confined Quark Model developed previously by our group. We predict the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}(\Upsilon(1S)\to B_{(c)}\ell\bar{\nu}_\ell)$ to be of the order of $10^{-13}$ and $10^{-10}$ for the case of $B$ and $B_c$, respectively. Our predictions agree well with other theoretical calculations. We also consider the effects of possible New Physics in the case of $\Upsilon(1S)\to B_c\tau\bar{\nu}_\tau$. We show that the branching fraction of this decay can be enhanced by an order of magnitude using constraints from the $B\to D^{(*)}\ell\bar{\nu}_\ell$ and $B_c\to J/\psi\ell \bar{\nu}_\ell$ experimental data., Comment: 18 pages, 4 figures, 5 tables, references added, to be published in Chinese Physics C

Abstract

The dual-phase liquid argon time projection chamber is presently one of the leading technologies to search for dark matter particles with masses below 10 GeV/c$^2$. This was demonstrated by the DarkSide-50 experiment with approximately 50 kg of low-radioactivity liquid argon as target material. The next generation experiment DarkSide-20k, currently under construction, will use 1,000 times more argon and is expected to start operation in 2027. Based on the DarkSide-50 experience, here we assess the DarkSide-20k sensitivity to models predicting light dark matter particles, including Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) and sub-GeV/c$^2$ particles interacting with electrons in argon atoms. With one year of data, a sensitivity improvement to dark matter interaction cross-sections by at least one order of magnitude with respect to DarkSide-50 is expected for all these models. A sensitivity to WIMP--nucleon interaction cross-sections below $1\times10^{-42}$ cm$^2$ is achievable for WIMP masses above 800 MeV/c$^2$. Abstract

The knowledge of scintillation quenching of $\alpha$-particles plays a paramount role in understanding $\alpha$-induced backgrounds and improving the sensitivity of liquid argon-based direct detection of dark matter experiments. Abstract

Understanding the radiogenic neutron production rate through the (${\alpha}$, n) reaction is crucial in many areas of physics, including dark matter searches, neutrino studies, and nuclear astrophysics. In addition to its relevance for fundamental research, the (${\alpha}$, n) reaction also plays a significant role in nuclear energy technologies and in applications such as medical physics. This white paper reviews the current state of (${\alpha}$, n) yield calculations, neutron spectra, and describes the computational tools used for their estimation and the available cross-sections. The uncertainties affecting the estimation of (${\alpha}$, n) yields are addressed, and a program to enhance the accuracy of these estimates is proposed. Furthermore, the need for new measurements of (${\alpha}$, n) cross-sections for a variety of relevant materials is emphasized. Such improvements in neutron flux predictions are crucial for reducing uncertainties in sensitivity estimates for next-generation physics experiments operating in the keV--MeV range., Comment: 38 pages, 8 figures

Abstract

Experiments aimed at direct searches for WIMP dark matter require highly effective reduction of backgrounds and control of any residual radioactive contamination. In particular, neutrons interacting with atomic nuclei represent an important class of backgrounds due to the expected similarity of a WIMP-nucleon interaction, so that such experiments often feature a dedicated neutron detector surrounding the active target volume. In the context of the development of DarkSide-20k detector at INFN Gran Sasso National Laboratory (LNGS), several R&D projects were conceived and developed for the creation of a new hybrid material rich in both hydrogen and gadolinium nuclei to be employed as an essential element of the neutron detector. Thanks to its very high cross-section for neutron capture, gadolinium is one of the most widely used elements in neutron detectors, while the hydrogen-rich material is instrumental in efficiently moderating the neutrons. In this paper results from one of the R&Ds are presented. In this effort the new hybrid material was obtained as a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) matrix, loaded with gadolinium oxide in the form of nanoparticles. We describe its realization, including all phases of design, purification, construction, characterization, and determination of mechanical properties of the new material.

Abstract

We study the rare semileptonic decays of $B_c$ mesons within the effective field theoretical framework of covariant confined quark model. The transition form factors corresponding to $B_c^+ \to D^{(*)+}$ and $B_c^+ \to D_s^{(*)+}$ are computed in the entire $q^2$ range. Using form factors, we compute the branching fractions and compare them with the available theoretical results. We also compute various physical observables such as forward-backward asymmetry, longitudinal and transverse polarizations as well as clean angular observables.

We re-consider recent measures of $R_{K}$ and $R_{K^*}$, now compatible with the Standard Model expectations, as well as the results for the process $\text{BR}(B_s \rightarrow \mu^+ \mu^-)$ alongside earlier determinations of $R_{D^{(\ast)}}$ and $\text{BR}(B_c \rightarrow \tau \nu)$. We provide analytic constraints on the associated Wilson coefficients in both the $b \to s$ and the $b \to c$ sectors. These allow us to estimate the scale of potential New Physics for generic extensions of the Standard Model. 19. Automated Assessment in Math Education: A Comparative Analysis of LLMs for Open-Ended Responses

Abstract

The effectiveness of feedback in enhancing learning outcomes is well documented within Educational Data Mining (EDM). Various prior research have explored methodologies to enhance the effectiveness of feedback to students in various ways. Recent developments in Large Language Models (LLMs) have extended their utility in enhancing automated feedback systems. This study aims to explore the potential of LLMs in facilitating automated feedback in math education in the form of numeric assessment scores. We examine the effectiveness of LLMs in evaluating student responses and scoring the responses by comparing 3 different models: Llama, SBERT-Canberra, and GPT4 model. The evaluation requires the model to provide a quantitative score on the student's responses to open-ended math problems. We employ Mistral, a version of Llama catered to math, and fine-tune this model for evaluating student responses by leveraging a dataset of student responses and teacher-provided scores for middle-school math problems. A similar approach was taken for training the SBERT-Canberra model, while the GPT4 model used a zero-shot learning approach. We evaluate and compare the models' performance in scoring accuracy. Abstract

Radiative decays $D^*_{(s)}\to D_{(s)}\gamma$ are revisited in light of new experimental data from the \textit{BABAR} and BESIII collaborations. The radiative couplings $g_{D^*D\gamma}$ encoding nonperturbative QCD effects are calculated in the framework of the covariant confined quark model developed by us. We compare our results with other theoretical studies and experimental data. The couplings (in $\textrm{GeV}^{-1}$) $|g_{D^{*+}D^+\gamma}| = 0.45(9)$ and $|g_{D^{*0}D^0\gamma}| = 1.72(34)$ calculated in our model agree with the corresponding experimental data $|g_{D^{*+}D^+\gamma}|=0.47(7)$ and $|g_{D^{*0}D^0\gamma}|=1.77(16)$. The most interesting case is the decay $D^*_s\to D_s\gamma$, for which a recent prediction based on light-cone sum rules at next-to-leading order $|g_{D^*_s D_s\gamma}|=0.60(19)$ deviates from the first (and only to date) lattice QCD result $|g_{D^*_s D_s\gamma}|=0.11(2)$ at nearly $3\sigma$. Our calculation yields $|g_{D^*_s D_s\gamma}|=0.29(6)$, which falls somehow between the two mentioned results, although it is larger than those predicted in other studies using quark models or QCD sum rules., Comment: 27 pages, 5 figures, 7 tables, fix typos, add references, and match with journal version

Abstract

PURPOSE: Following motor vehicle collisions (MVCs), patients often undergo extensive computed tomography (CT) imaging. However, pregnant trauma patients (PTPs) represent a unique population where the risk of fetal radiation may supersede the benefits of liberal CT imaging. This study sought to evaluate imaging practices for PTPs, hypothesizing variability in CT imaging among trauma centers. If demonstrated, this might suggest the need to develop specific guidelines to standardize practice. METHODS: A multicenter retrospective study (2016-2021) was performed at 12 Level-I/II trauma centers. Adult (≥18 years old) PTPs involved in MVCs were included, with no patients excluded. The primary outcome was the frequency of CT. Chi-square tests were used to compare categorical variables, and ANOVA was used to compare the means of normally distributed continuous variables. RESULTS: A total of 729 PTPs sustained MVCs (73% at high speed of ≥ 25 miles per hour). Most patients were mildly injured but a small variation of injury severity score (range 1.1-4.6, p < 0.001) among centers was observed. There was a variation of imaging rates for CT head (range 11.8-62.5%, p < 0.001), cervical spine (11.8-75%, p < 0.001), chest (4.4-50.2%, p < 0.001), and abdomen/pelvis (0-57.3%, p < 0.001). In high-speed MVCs, there was variation for CT head (12.5-64.3%, p < 0.001), cervical spine (16.7-75%, p < 0.001), chest (5.9-83.3%, p < 0.001), and abdomen/pelvis (0-60%, p < 0.001). There was no difference in mortality (0-2.9%, p =0.19). CONCLUSION: Significant variability of CT imaging in PTPs after MVCs was demonstrated across 12 trauma centers, supporting the need for standardization of CT imaging for PTPs to reduce unnecessary radiation exposure while ensuring optimal injury identification is achieved.

Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Socio-economic and political events of recent years have caused a significant increase in immigrants attempting to illegally cross the United States (US)-Mexico border. While a 30-foot border wall separates the US and Mexico, immigrants from around the world have used this location as their point of entry to the US. These border crossings have led to a dramatic increase in major trauma resulting in increased inpatient resource utilization and the need for comprehensive hospital services. The aim of this study was to describe the nationality of injured immigrants admitted to a Trauma Center serving a segment of the US-Mexico border wall and to report their ultimate destinations after discharge. METHODS: We performed a retrospective review of patients admitted to an academic, Level 1 Trauma Center after injury at the US-Mexico border wall from 2021 to 2022. Demographic information was obtained from the trauma registry. The electronic medical record was searched to identify each patients self-reported country of origin. Patients nationality was then stratified by region of the world to understand geographic representation of border injury admissions. RESULTS: We identified 597 patients injured while crossing the US-Mexico border wall representing 38 different countries. The mean age of patients was 32.2±10.4 years and 446 (75%) were male. Most patients (405, 67.8%) were Mexican, followed by 23 (3.9%) patients from Peru, 17 (2.8%) patients from India, 14 (2.3%) patients from El Salvador, 13 (2.2%) patients from Cuba and 12 (2.0%) patients from Jamaica. When considering regions of the world other than Mexico, patients were most commonly from Africa, South America and Central America. CONCLUSION: The increased volume of trauma associated with the US-Mexico border wall is a humanitarian and health crisis.(1) The diverse national origin of patients admitted after injury from border wall falls has shed new light on the social and interpreter services needed to care for these border injury patients and the challenges that exist in their post-discharge care.

32. Predictors of direct oral anticoagulant concentrations in the trauma population.

Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) use is becoming more prevalent in patients presenting after trauma. We sought to identify the prevalence and predictors of subtherapeutic and therapeutic DOAC concentrations and hypothesized that increased anti-Xa levels would correlate with increased risk of bleeding and other poor outcomes. METHODS: A retrospective cohort study of all trauma patients on apixaban or rivaroxaban admitted to a level 1 trauma center between January 2015 and July 2021 was performed. Patients were excluded if they did not have a DOAC-specific anti-Xa level at presentation. Therapeutic levels were defined as an anti-Xa of 50 ng/mL to 250 ng/mL for rivaroxaban and 75 ng/mL to 250 ng/mL for apixaban. Linear regression was used to identify correlations between study variables and anti-Xa level, and binomial logistic regression was used to test the association of anti-Xa level with outcomes. RESULTS: There were 364 trauma patients admitted during the study period who were documented to be on apixaban or rivaroxaban. Of these, 245 patients had anti-Xa levels measured at admission. The population was 53% woman, with median age of 78 years, and median Injury Severity Score of 5. In total, 39% of patients had therapeutic and 20% had supratherapeutic anti-Xa levels. Female sex, increased age, decreased height and weight, and lower estimated creatinine clearance were associated with higher anti-Xa levels at admission. There was no correlation between anti-Xa level and the need for transfusion or reversal agent administration, admission diagnosis of intracranial hemorrhage (ICH), progression of ICH, hospital length of stay, or mortality. CONCLUSIONS: Anti-Xa levels in trauma patients on DOACs vary widely; female patients who are older, smaller, and have decreased kidney function present with higher DOAC-specific anti-Xa levels after trauma. We were unable to detect an association between anti-Xa levels and clinical outcomes. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: III-Prognostic and Epidemiological.

Abstract

The direct search for dark matter in the form of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMP) is performed by detecting nuclear recoils (NR) produced in a target material from the WIMP elastic scattering. A promising experimental strategy for direct dark matter search employs argon dual-phase time projection chambers (TPC). One of the advantages of the TPC is the capability to detect both the scintillation and charge signals produced by NRs. Furthermore, the existence of a drift electric field in the TPC breaks the rotational symmetry: the angle between the drift field and the momentum of the recoiling nucleus can potentially affect the charge recombination probability in liquid argon and then the relative balance between the two signal channels. This fact could make the detector sensitive to the directionality of the WIMP-induced signal, enabling unmistakable annual and daily modulation signatures for future searches aiming for discovery. The Recoil Directionality (ReD) experiment was designed to probe for such directional sensitivity. The TPC of ReD was irradiated with neutrons at the INFN Laboratori Nazionali del Sud, and data were taken with 72 keV NRs of known recoil directions. The direction-dependent liquid argon charge recombination model by Cataudella et al. was adopted and a likelihood statistical analysis was performed, which gave no indications of significant dependence of the detector response to the recoil direction. BACKGROUND: Seasonal variations in environmental exposures at birth or during gestation are associated with numerous adult traits and health outcomes later in life. Whether DNA methylation (DNAm) plays a role in the molecular mechanisms underlying the associations between birth season and lifelong phenotypes remains unclear. METHODS: We carried out epigenome-wide meta-analyses within the Pregnancy And Childhood Epigenetic Consortium to identify associations of DNAm with birth season, both at differentially methylated probes (DMPs) and regions (DMRs). Associations were examined at two time points: at birth (21 cohorts, N = 9358) and in children aged 1-11 years (12 cohorts, N = 3610). 44. Atmospheric Neutrino Octant from Flavour Symmetry

Abstract

The binary tetrahedral group ($T^{'}$) has provided the most successful flavour symmetry in understanding simultaneously the three mixing angles both for quarks in the CKM matrix and for neutrinos in the PMNS matrix. One prediction, invariant under leptonic CP violation, relates the atmospheric and reactor neutrino mixings $\theta_{23}$ and $\theta_{13}$ respectively. We study sedulously this relation using the latest neutrino data. It is natural to focus on the frustrating experimental octant ambiguity of $\theta_{23}$. We conclude that the flavour symmetry requires that $\theta_{23}$ is in the second octant $\theta > 45^0$, not in the first one $\theta_{23}<45^0$, and eagerly await experimental confirmation of this prediction., Comment: 6 pages LaTeX

Abstract

miniBELEN-10A is a modular and transportable moderated neutron counter with a nearly flat detection efficiency up to 8 MeV. The detector was designed to carry out measurements of (alpha, n) reactions in the context of the Measurement of Alpha Neutron Yields (MANY) project. In this work we present the results of the commissioning of miniBELEN-10A using the relatively well-known thick-target neutron yields from 27Al(alpha, n)30P.

Abstract

miniBELEN is a modular and transportable neutron moderated counter with a nearly flat neutron detection efficiency up to 10 MeV. Modularity implies that the moderator can be reassembled in different ways in order to obtain different types of response. The detector has been developed in the context of the Measurement of Alpha Neutron Yields (MANY) collaboration, which is a scientific effort aiming to carry out measurements of (alpha,n) production yields, reaction cross-sections and neutron energy spectra. In this work we present and discuss several configurations of the miniBELEN detector. Abstract

Measuring the argon purity is critical for all Ar-based rare event research experiments. Mass spectrometry is typically used to assess the uranium and thorium contamination in samples of the materials used to build low-background detectors; however, this technique has the potential to provide other valuable information that is currently not exploited. We have shown that, by ICP-MS, it is possible to identify and quantify common chemical contaminants in argon. Preliminary tests were done with the gas extracted from the experiments MicroBooNE at FNAL and ArDM at LSC. In the former case, we evidenced relevant nitrogen contamination well above the one measured in the commercial argon gas. In ArDM, we identified and quantified the presence of mercury in the gas used for its science run. In both cases, the presence of krypton (~ppb) and xenon (~10s ppb) in argon gas has been established., Comment: Proceedings for Low Radioactivity Techniques (LRT) 2022

48. From Peril to Protection: an evaluation of regulations impacting eScooter injuries

Abstract

Background The use of standing electric motorized scooters (eScooters) has skyrocketed since its first release in 2016. This quickly popularized form of transportation has been associated with significant injury and even death. These eScooter-related traumatic injuries led to local advocacy efforts, resulting in safety restrictions including speed limit geofencing, sidewalk restrictions, and limiting the number of eScooter providers in high-density population areas. We hypothesized that these local safety restrictions decreased the number of eScooter-related injuries presenting to our trauma center. Methods This is a retrospective cohort study of eScooter-crash patients presenting to our Level 1 trauma center from July 2018 to June 2023. Variables included patient demographics, injury severity score (ISS), and mortality. The primary outcome was the rate of eScooter patients presenting over time in relation to the implementation of local-regional safety regulations.Results A total of 381 patients presented after eScooter crashes. Males were 73.8% of patients. The average age was 38.6 years; 45+ years was the most common age group at 33%, followed by ages 25–34 (31%). The mean ISS was 9±6, with ISS 0–9 (65.1%), 10–15 (24.4%), 16–24 (8.4%), and >25 (20.1%). There were three (0.8%) deaths. The median number of eScooter patients per month with prespeed limits was nine and post five (p=0.005), showing a 44.4% decrease in injured patients. After February 2022 restrictions, the rate precipitously declined with a median of two (p=0.033), reflecting an additional 60% decrease in injured patients.Conclusion Local advocacy resulting in increased safety regulations was associated with a significant reduction in injured patients secondary to eScooter use. This demonstrates the importance of advocacy efforts in response to changes in injury patterns and mechanisms of injury. We believe that our work can serve as a model for other urban centers seeking to reduce eScooter-related injuries and implement effective safety measures.Level of evidence IV, prognostic/epidemiologic.

Abstract

Biallelic mutations in the SACS gene, encoding sacsin, cause early-onset autosomal recessive spastic ataxia of Charlevoix-Saguenay (ARSACS), a neurodegenerative disease also characterized by unique and poorly understood retinal abnormalities. While two murine models replicate the phenotypic and neuronal features observed in patients, no retinal phenotype has been described so far. In a zebrafish knock-out strain that faithfully mirrors the main aspects of ARSACS, we observed impaired visual function due to photoreceptor degeneration, likely caused by cell cycle defects in progenitor cells. RNA-seq analysis in embryos revealed dysfunction in proteins related to fat-soluble vitamins (e.g., TTPA, RDH5, VKORC) and suggested a key role of neuroinflammation in driving the retinal defects. Our findings indicate that studying retinal pathology in ARSACS could be crucial for understanding the impact of sacsin depletion and may offer insights into halting disease progression.
