Hexagonal antiferromagnetic D019-Mn3X (X = Sn, Ge, Ga) compounds, with a non-collinear Kagome spin structure, are Weyl semimetals exhibiting novel topological transport properties. The longitudinal magnetoresistance of c-oriented epitaxial Ru/Mn3Ga thin films exhibits a positive quadratic dependence on magnetic field over a wide range of temperatures. Here we describe the transverse magnetoresistance, with the field in the out-of-plane direction, for c-oriented epitaxial GaN (0001)/Mn3Ga films. There is a transition from a negative linear to a positive quadratic dependence on magnetic field in the temperature range from 200 K to 300 K. The electrical resistivity shows a metallic to semiconductor transition at 230 K. By applying the electric field along two perpendicular in-plane directions we find asymmetry in the magnetoresistance curves due to self-spin polarized currents created through magnetic octupole clusters. LLM-as-a-Judge is a widely used method for evaluating the performance of Large Language Models (LLMs) across various tasks. We address the challenge of quantifying the uncertainty of LLM-as-a-Judge evaluations. While uncertainty quantification has been well-studied in other domains, applying it effectively to LLMs poses unique challenges due to their complex decision-making capabilities and computational demands. In this paper, we introduce a novel method for quantifying uncertainty designed to enhance the trustworthiness of LLM-as-a-Judge evaluations. The method quantifies uncertainty by analyzing the relationships between generated assessments and possible ratings. By cross-evaluating these relationships and constructing a confusion matrix based on token probabilities, the method derives labels of high or low uncertainty. We evaluate our method across multiple benchmarks, demonstrating a strong correlation between the accuracy of LLM evaluations and the derived uncertainty scores. Our findings suggest that this method can significantly improve the reliability and consistency of LLM-as-a-Judge evaluations.

Evaluation of large language model (LLM) outputs requires users to make critical judgments about the best outputs across various configurations. This process is costly and takes time given the large amounts of data. LLMs are increasingly used as evaluators to filter training data, evaluate model performance or assist human evaluators with detailed assessments. To support this process, effective front-end tools are critical for evaluation. Two common approaches for using LLMs as evaluators are direct assessment and pairwise comparison. In our study with machine learning practitioners (n=15), each completing 6 tasks yielding 131 evaluations, we explore how task-related factors and assessment strategies influence criteria refinement and user perceptions. Findings show that users performed more evaluations with direct assessment by making criteria task-specific, modifying judgments, and changing the evaluator model. We conclude with recommendations for how systems can better support interactions in LLM-assisted evaluations.

The interaction between atoms and a quantized radiation field is fundamentally important in quantum optics and quantum information science. Due to their unusual properties, Rydberg atoms are promising building blocks for two-qubit gates and atom-light quantum interfaces, exploiting the Rydberg blockade interaction which prevents two atoms at close distance from being simultaneously excited to Rydberg states. Recently, this effect was used to engineer quantum processors based on arrays of interacting Rydberg atoms illuminated by Raman lasers. Motivated by these experiments, we extend the Jaynes-Cummings model to study the interaction between two Rydberg atoms interacting by the Rydberg blockade and a quantized radiation field. We find a rich variety of Rabi oscillations and entanglement between the atoms and the radiation field as a function of initial conditions and interaction time, which may be used to obtain atom-light quantum interfaces as components for future long-distance quantum communication., Comment: 21 pages, 7 figures

In the nanometric scale, alloy nanomaterials behave as new materials since they are able to display structures and properties which are different from those of the pure metal nanostructures or bulk alloys. In this work, the compositional characteristics of AlCu alloy nanoparticles obtained by {\dag}Femtosecond Laser Ablation Synthesis in Solution (FLASiS) on solid targets with different percentages of Al and Cu were studied. Morphology, structure, composition and plasmonic behaviour of the nanoparticles were analysed by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) and Optical Extinction Spectroscopy (OES). From the obtained results, underlying formation mechanism and a configuration model of a host alumina matrix with copper inclusions is proposed. Analysis of the plasmonic resonance spectral region in the extinction spectra of the synthesized colloids using this model show that the nanoparticles have a Cu filling factors of about 0.02 which agrees with those determined independently from TEM images. The amount of Al and Cu components in the nanoparticle depends on their relative percentages in the initial solid target. We present the design of the mechanical structure of the miniBeBe detector, a subsystem of the Multi-Purpose Detector, soon to enter into operation at the Nuclotron based Ion Collider fAcility of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The miniBeBe detector was designed and is currently being developed by the MexNICA Collaboration to contribute to the level-zero trigger of the Time of Flight. The mechanical structure meets the requirements of minimizing the material budget and be free of ferromagnetic materials, without compromising its robustness. The design also allows easy module replacement for maintenance and overall removal at the end of the first stage of the experiment, without affecting the rest of the subsystems, to leave room for the installation of the Inner Tracking System. In addition, a Finite Element Method analysis of the mechanical components under load was performed. Based on this analysis, it was determined that the design meets the space constraints within the Multi-Purpose Detector, as well as a deformation of less than 1 mm with overall stress of less than 2 MPa, such that no material used in the design is at risk of mechanical failure during operation. A cooling system heat transfer analysis was performed showing that the detector Silicon Photo-Multipliers can be kept within a temperature range of 19$^{\circ}$C to 23$^{\circ}$C, which is adequate for their optimal performance., Comment: 15 pages, 13 figures, 6 tables

Traditional reference-based metrics, such as BLEU and ROUGE, are less effective for assessing outputs from Large Language Models (LLMs) that produce highly creative or superior-quality text, or in situations where reference outputs are unavailable. While human evaluation remains an option, it is costly and difficult to scale. Recent work using LLMs as evaluators (LLM-as-a-judge) is promising, but trust and reliability remain a significant concern. Integrating human input is crucial to ensure criteria used to evaluate are aligned with the human's intent, and evaluations are robust and consistent. This paper presents a user study of a design exploration called EvaluLLM, that enables users to leverage LLMs as customizable judges, promoting human involvement to balance trust and cost-saving potential with caution. Through interviews with eight domain experts, we identified the need for assistance in developing effective evaluation criteria aligning the LLM-as-a-judge with practitioners' preferences and expectations. The aim of this study was to predict university students' learning performance using different sources of data from an Intelligent Tutoring System. We collected and preprocessed data from 40 students from different multimodal sources: learning strategies from system logs, emotions from face recording videos, interaction zones from eye tracking, and test performance from final knowledge evaluation. Our objective was to test whether the prediction could be improved by using attribute selection and classification ensembles. We carried out three experiments by applying six classification algorithms to numerical and discretized preprocessed multimodal data. The results show that the best predictions were produced using ensembles and selecting the best attributes approach with numerical data.

The present work studies the gravitational radiation of a non abelian vortex with a non compact internal moduli describing its excitations. This situation may be realised by semi-local supersymmetric vortices \cite{novedad1}-\cite{reviewshifman}, although supersymmetry is not necessary for this to happen. In the situation considered along this work, the internal space has infinite volume, and a largely energetic perturbation propagates along the object, even though the vortex line may not be moving. A specific configuration is presented, in which the internal space is the resolved conifold with its Ricci flat metric. The curious feature about it is that it corresponds to a static vortex, that is, the perturbation is only due to the internal modes. Even being static, the emission of gravitational radiation is in the present case of considerable order. In the present letter, the solutions of the Klein Gordon equation in the space time of an infinite domain wall is studied. It is shown that the horizon is an special region, where initial conditions (scattering conditions) at asymptotic past for the field can not be defined. This is in harmony with the fact that this region can not be crossed, a possibility that was suggested in \cite{lanosa}. If these results are correct, then it makes no sense to impose boundary conditions at this location., Comment: 5 pages, no figures

In the present letter the infinite domain wall geometry in GR \cite{vilenkin1}-\cite{ipser} is reconsidered in Taub coordinates \cite{taub}. The use of these coordinates makes explicit that the regions between the horizons and the wall and the outer ones are flat. By use of these coordinates, it is suggested that points inside the horizon and outside never communicate each other. The wall is seen on the left and the right side as contracting and expanding portions of spheres and a plane singularity, which is the imprint the contracting and expanding domain wall. Particles of each region will never reach this imprint. In addition, at some point during the evolution of the system, four curious holes inside the space time appear, growing at the speed of light. This region is not parameterized by the standard Taub coordinates, and the boundary of this hole adsorbs all the particles that intersect it. The boundary of these holes are composed by points which in the coordinates of \cite{vilenkin1}-\cite{ipser} are asymptotic, in the sense that they correspond to trajectories tending to infinite values of the time or space like coordinates, while the proper time elapsed for the travel is in fact finite. This is not paradoxical, as the coordinates \cite{vilenkin1}-\cite{ipser} are not to be identified with the true lengths or proper time on the space time. The correct interpretation of the boundary is particularity relevant when studying scattering of quantum fields approaching the domain wall. We study the scalar probe in the near-horizon region of near-extremal five-dimensional black holes and the problem of reattaching the asymptotic region. We consider the example of a Myers-Perry black hole with two independent angular momenta, for which the problem can be solved analytically in terms of the Riemann P-symbols and the confluent Heun special function. By prescribing leaking boundary conditions similar to those considered in the context of Kerr/CFT correspondence, we implement the attachment of the asymptotically flat region, matching the solutions in the near-horizon Myers-Perry geometry with those in the far region. This provides us with a set of explicit expressions for the field response in the background of five-dimensional stationary black holes near extremality, which enables us to highlight qualitative differences with the analogous problem in four dimensions., Comment: 23 pages, 1 figure

Here we report on an acoustoelectric slab waveguide heterostructure for phonon amplification using a thin Al$_{0.58}$Sc$_{0.42}$N film grown directly on a 4H-SiC substrate with an ultra-thin In$_{0.53}$Ga$_{0.47}$As epitaxial film heterogeneously integrated onto the surface of the Al$_{0.58}$Sc$_{0.42}$N. The aluminum scandium nitride film grown directly on silicon carbide enables a thin (1 micron thick) piezoelectric film to be deposited on a thermally conductive bulk substrate (370 W/m-K for 4H-SiC), enabling negligible self-heating when combined with the In$_{0.53}$Ga$_{0.47}$As semiconductor parameters of large mobility (~7000 cm$^2$/V-s) and low concentration of charge carriers (~5x10$^{15}$ cm$^{-3}$). A Sezawa mode with optimal overlap between the peak of its evanescent electric field and the semiconductor charge carriers is supported. The high velocity of the heterostructure materials allows us to operate the Sezawa mode amplifier at 3.05 GHz, demonstrating a gain of 500 dB/cm (40 dB in 800 microns). Additionally, a terminal end-to-end radio frequency gain of 7.7 dB and a nonreciprocal transmission of 52.6 dB are achieved with a dissipated DC power of 2.3 mW. The power added efficiency and acoustic noise figure are also characterized.

In the present work, the results obtained in [1] about the revivals of a relativistic fermion wave function on a torus are considerably enlarged. In fact, all the possible quantum states exhibiting revivals are fully characterized. The revivals are exact, that is, are true revivals without taking any particular limit such as the non relativistic one. The present results are of interest since they generalize the Talbot effect and the revivals of the Schr\"odinger equation to a relativistic situation with non zero mass. This makes the problem nontrivial, as the dispersion relation is modified and is not linear. The present results are obtained by the use of arithmetic tools which are described in certain detail.
