Purpose: There is a need to better understand the impact of different contexts depending on their economic and social development on women’s entrepreneurial experience, that is how belonging to certain cultures may affect women entrepreneurs’ experiences differently. Design/methodology/approach: Using interviews, this research explores the narratives of 35 women entrepreneurs in Nigeria (sub-Saharan Africa) in a context of scarcity and where the burden of care and support falls on women. It is important to understand how entrepreneurs feel and think about the barriers and catalysts they have encountered and their identity in specific contexts. Findings/results: In Nigeria, the discourse around women entrepreneurship revolves around personal characteristics that women should emphasise, such as self-confidence, self-efficacy and determination. Therefore, they build their identity in a communitarian and pluralistic way, which is not common in developed countries that are more individualistic. Practical implications: We cannot assume that a developed world perspective, however dominant, is well-equipped to explain entrepreneurship everywhere. In developing countries, women still must fight for their legitimacy as entrepreneurs, while in developed countries women show greater agency in trying to counteract the gendered construction of entrepreneurship. Originality/value: The article follows calls in the literature, specifically that dealing with women’s entrepreneurship, to contextualise the analysis, focus on developing countries and use a qualitative approach.

Trichoderma strains used in vineyards for the control of grapevine trunk diseases (GTDs) present a promising alternative to chemical products. Therefore, the isolation and characterization of new indigenous Trichoderma strains for these purposes is a valuable strategy to favor the adaptation of these strains to the environment, thus improving their efficacy in the field. In this research, a new Trichoderma species, Trichoderma carraovejensis, isolated from vineyards in Ribera de Duero (Spain) area, has been identified and phylogenetically analyzed using 20 housekeeping genes isolated from the genome of 24 Trichoderma species. A morphological description and comparison of the new species has also been carried out. In order to corroborate the potential of T. carraovejensis as a biological control agent (BCA), confrontation tests against pathogenic fungi, causing various GTDs, have been performed in the laboratory. The compatibility of T. carraovejensis with different pesticides and biostimulants has also been assessed. This new Trichoderma species demonstrates the ability to control pathogens such as Diplodia seriata, as well as high compatibility with powdered sulfur-based pesticides. In conclusion, the autochthonous species T. carraovejensis can be an effective alternative to complement the currently used strategies for the control of wood diseases in its region of origin.

Fusarium graminearum causes Fusarium head blight (FHB) on wheat and barley and contaminates grains with various mycotoxins that are toxic to humans and animals. Deoxynivalenol (DON), a type B trichothecene, is an essential virulence factor that is required for F. graminearum to spread within a wheat head. Recently, novel type A trichothecenes NX-2 and NX-3 (NX) have been found in F. graminearum. NX trichothecenes lack a keto group at the C8 position. To determine if NX trichothecenes play a role similar to that of DON during F. graminearum infection, deletion mutants of TRI5, the first gene for trichothecene biosynthesis, were generated from strains PH-1, NRRL46422, and NRRL44211 (hereafter 44211) representing the 15-acetyl-DON, 3-acetyl-DON, and NX chemotypes. No trichothecene production was detected in any of the Δtri5 mutants in cultures or inoculated wheat heads. FHB symptoms were restricted to the inoculated wheat spikelets when point-inoculated with the Δtri5 mutants, confirming the necessity of NX and DON for FHB spread. Furthermore, whole-head dip inoculations revealed significant reductions in disease and fungal biomass in wheat heads inoculated with 44211Δtri5 compared with 44211. Introduction of the native 44211 TRI5 and a Trichoderma arundinaceum TRI5 ortholog in the 44211Δtri5 mutant complemented trichothecene production in vitro; however, introducing both TRI5 partially restored wild-type levels of NX in infected heads. Our results demonstrate that NX trichothecenes play an important role in Fusarium graminearum initial infection as well as FHB spread. Introducción: En la vejez, el declinar en las Actividades Instrumentales de la Vida Diaria (AIVD), se relaciona con deterioro cognoscitivo; sin embargo, no todas ellas se ven alteradas, en especial al inicio de la enfermedad. Por lo tanto la identificación de estas actividades podría ayudar a obtener diagnósticos más tempranos y precisos. Objetivo: identificar las actividades instrumentales de la vida diaria (AIVD) que más se asocian con deterioro cognoscitivo en los adultos mayores. Materiales y métodos: se analizaron datos del estudio SABE Bogotá (2012), donde se entrevistó a 2.000 adultos mayores (?60 años) en un estudio transversal, se recolectó una muestra probabilística por conglomerados, con una cobertura del 81.9%. The trichothecene toxin-producing fungus Trichoderma arundinaceum has potential as a biological control agent. However, most biocontrol studies have focused only on one strain, IBT 40837. In the current study, three Trichoderma isolates recovered from bean-field soils produced the trichothecene harzianum A (HA) and trichodermol, the latter being an intermediate in the HA biosynthesis. Based on phylogenetic analysis, the three isolates were assigned to the species T. arundinaceum. Their genome sequences had a high degree of similarity to the reference IBT 40837 strain, in terms of total genome size, number of predicted genes, and diversity of putative secondary metabolite biosynthetic gene clusters. HA production by these bean-field isolates conferred significant in vitro antifungal activity against Rhizoctonia solani and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, which are some of the most important bean pathogens. Furthermore, the bean-field isolates stimulated germination of bean seeds and subsequent growth of above ground parts of the bean plant. Transcriptomic analysis of bean plants inoculated with these T. arundinaceum bean-field soil isolates indicated that HA production significantly affected expression of plant defense-related genes; this effect was particularly significant in the expression of chitinase-encoding genes. Fusarium genus is a wide host phytopathogen causing significant losses in multiple crops, including hops. There is limited information on the sustainable management of Fusarium spp. in hop fields. Trichoderma is an endophytic fungus used in agriculture as a biological control agent (BCA) and as a plant growth promoter. It has been used to antagonize Fusarium spp. in other crops. The objective of the current study was to identify indigenous hop field Trichoderma isolates with biocontrol and hop growth promotion capabilities. Three isolates of Fusarium and eleven autochthonous Trichoderma isolates collected from sustainable hop fields were evaluated in this work. Direct confrontation tests (the physical interaction between the pathogen and BCA and their competition for space and nutrient resources) and membrane tests (the capacity of the BCA to produce metabolites or enzymes through a cellophane film and inhibit the development of the pathogen) assessed the antagonism of these Trichoderma isolates against Fusarium culmorum, F. sambucinum, and F. oxysporum. A bioassay with hop plantlets inoculated with a spore suspension of Trichoderma was performed to assess its hop growth enhancement. T. hamatum (T311 and T324), T. virens T312, and T. gamsii T327 showed high growth inhibition of Fusarium spp. phytopathogens and high plant growth promotion. Native Trichoderma isolates from sustainable hop-producing soils have great potential as BCAs and hop growth promoters.

Native strains of Trichoderma in vineyard soil represent an opportunity for reducing the incidence of grapevine trunk diseases (GTDs) in vineyards. Moreover, its relationship with the environment (physicochemical soil characteristics and farming management practices) remains unclear. In the current study, a survey was carried out on farming management used by viticulturists, and soil samples were studied to analyze their physicochemical properties and to isolate Trichoderma strains. Later, statistical analyses were performed to identify possible correlations between Trichoderma populations, soil management and soil characteristics. In addition, in vitro tests, including antibiosis and mycoparasitism, were performed to select those Trichoderma strains able to antagonize Phaeoacremonium minimum. In this study a positive correlation was found between the iron content and pH in the soil, and a lower pH increases Trichoderma populations in soils. Vineyard management also affects Trichoderma populations in the soil, negatively in the case of fertilization and tillage and positively in the case of herbicide spraying. Two Trichoderma native strains were selected as potential biocontrol agents (Trichoderma gamsii T065 and Trichoderma harzianum T087) using antibiosis and mycoparasitism as mechanisms of action. These results led to the conclusion that native Trichoderma strains hold great potential as biological control agents and as producers of secondary metabolites.

Although increasing focus is being given to the control of insect pests with natural products, the study of volatile mediated microbe-insect interactions has been largely neglected so far. Currently, no standardized method is available for the in vitro evaluation of the effects produced on insects by Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) directly emitted by actively growing microbial strains. This manuscript presents a reliable protocol using VOC Chambers (Álvarez-García et al., 2021) to assess these effects and specifically those exerted on dry grain insect pests. The methodology also serves to evaluate the impact of these volatile interactions on the grain damage produced by the insects. It allows to vary the level of gas exchange with the environment, thus providing different experimental conditions to emulate diverse natural ones in which these interactions may occur.Our method adapts the use of VOC Chambers for the evaluation of microbe-insect volatile interactions and the in vitro screening of microbial strains that produce potentially bioactive VOCs against insects.It allows assessing the effects of these volatile interactions on the damage produced by insect pests on stored dry grains.Sealed and unsealed setups can be used to determine the impact of ventilation and gas exchange on these interactions.

Trichothecenes are terpenoid toxins produced by species in 10 fungal genera, including species of Trichoderma. The trichothecene biosynthetic gene (tri) cluster typically includes the tri5 gene, which encodes a terpene synthase that catalyzes formation of trichodiene, the parent compound of all trichothecenes. The two Trichoderma species, Trichoderma arundinaceum and T. brevicompactum, that have been examined are unique in that tri5 is located outside the tri cluster in a genomic region that does not include other known tri genes. In the current study, analysis of 35 species representing a wide range of the phylogenetic diversity of Trichoderma revealed that 22 species had tri5, but only 13 species had both tri5 and the tri cluster. tri5 was not located in the cluster in any species. Using complementation analysis of a T. arundinaceum tri5 deletion mutant, we demonstrated that some tri5 homologs from species that lack a tri cluster are functional, but others are not. Phylogenetic analyses suggest that Trichoderma tri5 was under positive selection following its divergence from homologs in other fungi but before Trichoderma species began diverging from one another. We propose two models to explain these diverse observations. One model proposes that the location of tri5 outside the tri cluster resulted from loss of tri5 from the cluster in an ancestral species followed by reacquisition via horizontal transfer. The other model proposes that in species that have a functional tri5 but lack the tri cluster, trichodiene production provides a competitive advantage.

El presente trabajo analiza qué características singularizan la sátira trovadoresca gallegoportuguesa respecto a la cultivada en otras tradiciones líricas. La crítica suele identificar esa diferencia en el plano temático, ya que la sátira ibérica cultiva mayoritariamente el vituperium y las invectivas asociadas a ataques personales. Sin embargo, un análisis comparado con las otras tradiciones poéticas muestra que esa circunstancia no constituye una excepción y que, por el contrario, desde el punto de vista temático la lírica gallegoportuguesa posee puntos en común con la poesía europea coetánea, por ejemplo, con la de los poetas cómico-realistas italianos. También coincide con las otras tradiciones líricas en el uso de un lenguaje dotado de dobles sentidos, aunque posiblemente bajo premisas que no coincidan con las que establece el Arte de trovar del cancionero B para distinguir entre las cantigas de escarnio y las de maldizer.

Acanthoscelides obtectus is an insect pest that attacks wild and cultivated common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L). Four Trichoderma strains, the T. arundinaceum IBT 40837 wild-type strain (=Ta37), a producer of trichothecene harzianum A (HA), two transformants of T. arundinaceum strain, Ta37-17.139 (=Δtri17) and Ta37-23.74 (=Δtri23), and the T. brevicompactum IBT 40841 wild-type strain (=Tb41), which produces the trichothecene trichodermin, were assessed to establish their direct effect on insect attacks and their indirect effect on the plants grown from the beans treated with those fungal strains and exposed to insect attacks. Treatments of bean seeds with different Trichoderma strains led to different survival rates in the insects, and the Tb41 strain caused the lowest survival rate of all. An 86.10% of the insect cadavers (in contact with Δtri23) showed growth of this strain. This was the treatment that attracted the greatest number of insects. The daily emergence was reduced in beans treated with the Ta37, Tb41, and Δtri17 strains. The undamaged beans treated with Ta37 and Δtri23 showed a high capacity of germination (80.00% and 75.00%, respectively), whereas the Δtri17 and Tb41 treatments increased the capacity of germination in the damaged beans (66.67%). The undamaged beans treated with Δtri23 had the greatest dry weights for the aerial part (4.22 g) and root system in the plants (0.62 g). More studies on the mechanisms of insect control, plant growth promotion, and trichodermol and trichodermin production by Δtri23 and Tb41, respectively, should be explored in order to commercialize these fungal species on a large scale.

Farnesol is an isoprenoid intermediate in the mevalonate (MVA) pathway and is produced by the dephosphorylation of farnesyl diphosphate. Farnesol plays a central role in cell growth and differentiation, controls production of ubiquinone and ergosterol, and participates in the regulation of filamentation and biofilm formation. Despite these important functions, studies of farnesol in filamentous fungi are limited, and information on its effects on antifungal and/or biocontrol activity is scarce. In the present article, we identified the Trichoderma harzianum gene dpp1, encoding a diacylglycerol pyrophosphatase that catalyzes production of farnesol from farnesol diphosphate. We analyzed the function of dpp1 to address the importance of farnesol in Trichoderma physiology and ecology. Overexpression of dpp1 in T. harzianum caused an expected increase in farnesol production as well as a marked change in squalene and ergosterol levels, but overexpression did not affect antifungal activity. In interaction with plants, a dpp1-overexpressing transformant acted as a sensitizing agent in that it up-regulated expression of plant defense salicylate-related genes in the presence of a fungal plant pathogen. In addition, toxicity of farnesol on Trichoderma and plants was examined. Finally, a phylogenetic study of dpp1 was performed to understand its evolutionary history as a primary metabolite gene. This article represents a step forward in the acquisition of knowledge on the role of farnesol in fungal physiology and in fungus-environment interactions.

In the business world, the improvement of employee well-being in organizations is important, as there is empirical evidence that it brings social value and economic benefits to organizations. To advance in this line of research, we considered SMEs as the object of study due to their importance in Spanish businesses and the scarcity of empirical studies on the subject. We use the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to analyse the measurement models and the structural model. Our research focuses on the importance of influential variables on well-being, but also considers how they affect financial performance. In the model that we present, there is a direct effect between the latent variables HPWS, well-being, reputation and financial performance, which represents how human resource management based on good practice in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) positively affects well-being by creating a good reputation and generating more business wealth. Our findings confirm the direct relationships proposed in the model, as well as the relevance of well-being and reputation as mediating variables.

The aim of this paper is to understand how absorptive capacity and innovativeness influence business performance. Most previous studies have not considered the different dimensions of absorptive capacity and innovativeness. As a consequence, they have not analyzed the relationships between these dimensions, such as potential and realized absorptive capacity (RACAP) and product and process innovation. In our study, we analyzed the relationships between each of these dimensions and their effect on organizational performance. To achieve this, in addition to the theoretical foundation provided by the working hypotheses, a questionnaire was sent to 800 CEOs of Spanish companies in different sectors, obtaining a response rate of 38.25%. Structural equation modeling was applied to test the hypotheses. This study confirms the positive effect of absorptive capacity on innovation capacity, which in turn has a positive effect on business performance. Moreover, different dimensions of absorptive capacity and innovativeness play an important role in these relationships. This study contributes to a better understanding of how potential and RACAP influence the innovativeness of firms, both in their ability to innovate products and to improve business processes. In addition, it explores how these different innovations impact business performance and provide firms with knowledge on how to invest resources to increase profits. Future research should further study the inner workings of each of the dimensions analyzed to determine the importance of each dimension for business performance.

Pesticides of chemical synthesis have mainly been used to control pests, diseases and adventitious plants up until now. However, it has been shown that some pesticides can remain in the soil for long periods of time, thus affecting the development of organisms in the rhizosphere as well as human health, which are two of the most noteworthy side effects. The aim of this research was to analyze the compatibility of autochthonous Trichoderma strains with different synthetic fungicides, acaricides, insecticides (including an entomopathogenic fungus) and herbicides. Sulfur encouraged the growth of all autochthonous strains assayed, and the combination Trichoderma-B. bassiana did not disturb their growth. So, the combination of the autochthonous Trichoderma strains with these organic pesticides will be a positive strategy to apply in the field to control pests and some diseases. Conventional pesticides modified the development of all autochthonous Trichoderma strains, demonstrating that not only do they affect weeds, fungus or pests but also rhizosphere microorganisms. In conclusion, conventional pesticides indiscriminately used to control pests, diseases and weeds could reduce the development of autochthonous Trichoderma strains, especially fungicides and herbicides.

El presente artículo estudia las cantigas de amigo gallegoportuguesas que se conocen como “cantigas de santuario”, atendiendo a sus condiciones de producción y recepción como claves para acceder a su significado. Se cuestiona la relación existente entre el autor y el templo aludido en la cantiga, para lo cual se adoptan como objeto de estudio a Martin Codax y sus siete cantigas de amigo. Para ello se analizan el posible origen toponímico de su apellido y la relación que mantiene con Vigo, el lugar que se menciona en sus cantigas.

El Baladro del sabio Merlín (editado en 1498 y 1535) constituye uno de los ejemplos más destacados de la recepción de la literatura artúrica en la Península Ibérica durante el final de la Edad Media. El Baladro desciende de la sección central del ciclo de la Post-Vulgata –o Merlin–, compuesto en Francia entre 1230 y 1240, en un contexto cultural e ideológico muy diferente del castellano de los siglos XV y XVI. Por ese motivo, los textos hispánicos fueron sometidos a una serie de modificaciones, que buscaban la adecuación de la obra al horizonte de expectativas de su nuevo público. Esto conllevó la reinterpretación de ciertos pasajes, de acuerdo con la ideología del contexto de recepción y su consiguiente reescritura. El presente trabajo analiza el capítulo en el que se relata la entronización del rey Arturo y cómo estos procedimientos de reescritura conllevaron una reinterpretación de los conceptos sociales y políticos a los que allí se alude.

Several studies have been conducted on ethical leadership and workplace ethical behavior but little is known about the role of organizational justice and each of its dimensions (procedural, distributive, interpersonal, informational) in this relationship. This study predicts that ethical leadership enhances organizational justice perceptions, including each of its specific dimensions, which in turn enhances employee ethical behavior. The results from two-wave survey data obtained from 270 employees in the Malaysian manufacturing industry confirm that ethical leadership has a positive impact on employee ethical behavior, and that organizational justice and each of its justice dimensions mediate this relationship, both individually and together. Importantly, interpersonal and informational dimensions show the strongest mediation effects. This paper highlights the actions and strategies that can help managers to effectively elevate the moral tone in their organizations. In particular, our findings show where managers must put more emphasis to foster an ethical workplace: on providing fair treatment (interpersonal justice) and honest information (informational justice).

Silk from Bombyx mori has two main proteins: fibroin and sericin. Fibroin is a protein that exhibits good biocompatibility and high surface reactivity, desirable properties for many biomedical applications. Sericin is related with adverse immune response in some medical uses. Therefore, its removal (degumming) is desirable in almost all fields, including the textile industry and biological applications. In this study, three degumming methods (distilled water, liquid neutral detergent and sodium carbonate solution) were evaluated using Raman spectroscopy. Degummed silk treated with sodium carbonate solution exhibits a pattern consistent with previous studies for sericin-free fibroin, and significant differences with the untreated silk pattern. Also, degummed fibroin fibers were dissolved in a calcium chloride solution, in pursuit of a more versatile material. Additionally, different porous membranes of dialysis tubes were tested to remove residual salts, and were compared by conductivity measurements and EDS analysis, identifying good performance for an affordable food cellulose membrane. The results showed that it is possible to obtain fibroin with adequate chemical properties, using low-cost process and membrane of dialysis tubes.

Trichoderma strains used in biological control products usually exhibit high efficiency in the control of plant diseases. However, their behavior under field conditions is difficult to predict. In addition, the potential of indigenous strains has been poorly assayed as well as their possible behavior as endophytes. Hence, niche colonization is a key feature for an effective protection. In this study, we aimed to: (i) explore the possibility of using a new Trichoderma strain isolated from vine to control pathogens, (ii) study the in planta interaction with the pathogen Phaeoacremonium minimum W. Gams, Crous, M.J. Wingf. & L. Mugnai (formerly Phaeoacremonium aleophilum), a pioneer fungus involved in Grapevine Trunk Diseases (GTDs) such as esca. For this purpose, fluorescently tagged Trichoderma sp. T154 and a P. minimum strain were used for scanning electron microscopy and confocal scanning laser microscopy analyses. Data showed that the Trichoderma strain is able to colonize plants up to 12 weeks post inoculation and is located in xylem, fibers, as well as in parenchymatic tissues inside the wood. The beneficial fungus reduced colonization of the esca-related pathogen colonizing the same niches. The main observed mechanism involved in biocontrol of Trichoderma against the esca pathogen was spore adhesion, niche exclusion and only few typical hypha coiling was found between Trichoderma and the pathogen. These results suggest that the Trichoderma strain has potential for reducing the colonization of Phaeoacremonium minimum and thus, an inoculation of this biological control agent can protect the plant by limiting the development of GTD, and the strain can behave as an endophyte.

Acanthoscelides obtectus, one of the world’s most important post-harvest pests, attacks wild and cultivated common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). Four Trichoderma strains, Trichoderma arundinaceum IBT 40,837 (=Ta37), a wild-type strain producer of trichothecene harzianum A (HA); two transformed strains of Ta37, Ta37-17.139 (Δtri17) and Ta37-23.74 (Δtri23); and T. brevicompactum IBT 40,841 (=Tb41), a wild-type strain producer of the trichothecene trichodermin, were evaluated to determine the effect of these compounds on the virulence of A. obtectus and the effect of these strains on the seed’s capacity of germination and on the agronomic traits of the plants grown from these seeds. Treatments of bean seeds with different Trichoderma strains provided varying survival rates in A. obtectus adults, so life survival of insects after Tb41 strain application was reduced to 15 days. Δtri17 and Tb41 strains sprayed on P. vulgaris beans resulted in low weight losses (1.21 and 1.55%, respectively). In spite of the low germination percentage of beans treated with Δtri23 strain (lower than the germination percentages of the rest of the fungal strains applied), this treatment encouraged a greater Wet Weight of Aerial Part of the plants grown from both damaged and undamaged beans. High germination rates of Ta37 and Δtri17 strains (higher than with the rest of treatments), did not turn into a greater Wet Weight Aerial Part and Wet Weight of Root System in the future plants developed. Linear regression between the number of exit holes and the wet weight aerial part on the one hand, and between the number of exit holes and the wet weight root system on the other, showed interaction, so Δtri23 and Tb41 strains behaved differently in comparison to their respective control treatments. The number of exit holes of beans treated with Δtri23 or Tb41 was negatively correlated with both the wet weight aerial part and the wet weight root system in P. vulgaris plants. Δtri23 sprayed on undamaged beans caused the greatest Wet Weight Aerial Part and wet weight root system in plants. Due to the good results obtained by Δtri23 and Tb41 strains in this work, more studies for A. obtectus control, P. vulgaris plant growth and trichothecenes production by these strains should be explored, in order to advance in the knowledge of how these fungi could be used in the field crop, together with the application of management strategies to mitigate risks for farmers and to minimize environmental contamination.

Trichoderma is a genus of fungi used for the biological control of plant diseases and a large number of its bio-formulates are available in the market. However, its efficacy under field conditions remains unclear, especially for the protection of grapevine plants against Grapevine Trunk Diseases (GTDs). These diseases are caused by a complex of fungal pathogens whose main point of entrance into the affected plants is through pruning wounds. In this research, different Trichoderma native strains have been evaluated according to their ability to grow at different temperatures and their capacity to colonize pruning wounds in adverse climatic conditions. Strains from section Trichoderma have adapted to cooler conditions. On the other hand, strains from clade Harzianum/Virens grow at higher temperatures. However, differences can also be found between strains inside the same clade/section. Native strains were able to colonize more than 70% of vine pruning wounds in winter conditions. The Trichoderma strain T154 showed a significantly higher re-isolation degree from vine plants and its concentration was optimized for spraying onto vine plants. In conclusion, Trichoderma native strains are better adapted to survive in a changing environment, and they could give better protection to grapevine plants in co-evolution with each specific vineyard.

The purpose of this study was to understand how proactivity can affect the relationship between absorptive capacity and organisational performance. Most previous studies have ignored the role of proactivity in this relationship and have not considered the multidimensional nature of absorptive capacity. A questionnaire was sent to 800 CEOs of Spanish companies from different sectors, procuring a response rate of 38.25%. A structural equation model was applied to test the hypothesis. This study confirms the positive effect that absorptive capacity has on business performance and the moderating role of proactivity in this relationship. Companies that develop their capacity to absorb information from the environment achieve better results. Furthermore, if they engage in proactive behaviour within their company, this relationship is stronger. Future research should include more capacities that are related to knowledge and business performance (i.e., learning capability, innovation capacity, etc.). This study contributes to the understanding of how to manage a company’s knowledge in an appropriate way. It sheds new light on how knowledge management should be conducted, emphasising not only the gathering of information but also the promotion of a proactive attitude on the part of employees to achieve the goal of better performance.

El dolor de espalda es uno de los síntomas más frecuentes en las instituciones de salud. La neurocirugía desempeña un papel importante en el diagnóstico y tratamiento del dolor de espalda que a menudo resulta en intervenciones quirúrgicas que incluyen la fusión intersomática lumbar entre otras alternativas terapéuticas. Sin embargo, la funcionalidad y los índices de calidad de vida esperados no siempre demuestran una mejora completa, a pesar del tratamiento médico y quirúrgico adecuado. Por lo tanto, los autores realizaron una revisión de la literatura no sistemática para evaluar los elementos más importantes involucrados en las evaluaciones diagnósticas que incluyen: anatomía lumbosacra, procesos patológicos de la columna vertebral que causan dolor de espalda e indicaciones de fusión intersomática lumbar. Finalmente, el papel relevante que tienen los parámetros espinopélvicos en un adecuado planeamiento quirúrgico. Esta revisión de la literatura no sistemática tiene como objetivo establecer la evaluación más contribuyente de los factores espinopélvicos antes de la cirugía para mejorar la selección de pacientes que se someten a tratamiento quirúrgico y, por lo tanto, mejorar su funcionalidad y los índices de calidad de vida.

The interest in the study of microbiological interactions mediated by volatile organic compounds (VOCs) has steadily increased in the last few years. Nevertheless, most assays still rely on the use of non-specific materials. We present a new tool, the volatile organic compound chamber (VOC chamber), specifically designed to perform these experiments. The novel devices were tested using four Trichoderma strains against Fusarium oxysporum and Rhizoctonia solani. We demonstrate that VOC chambers provide higher sensitivity and selectivity between treatments and higher homogeneity of results than the traditional method. VOC chambers are also able to test both vented and non-vented conditions. We prove that ventilation plays a very important role regarding volatile interactions, up to the point that some growth-inhibitory effects observed in closed environments switch to promoting ones when tested in vented conditions. This promoting activity seems to be related to the accumulation of squalene by T. harzianum. The VOC chambers proved to be an easy, homogeneous, flexible, and repeatable method, able to better select microorganisms with high biocontrol activity and to guide the future identification of new bioactive VOCs and their role in microbial interactions.

Spain has ranked 6th on the harvested bean area and 8th in bean production in the European Union (EU). The soils of this area have mixed silt loam and sandy loam texture, with moderate clay content, neutral or acidic pH, rich in organic matter and low carbonate levels, providing beans with high water absorption capacity and better organoleptic qualities after cooking. Similar to other crops, it is attacked by some phytopathogens. Hitherto, chemical methods have been used to control these organisms. However, with the Reform of the Community Agrarian Policy in the EU, the number of authorized plant protection products has been reduced to prevail food security, as well as to be sustainable in the long term, giving priority to the non-chemical methods that use biological agents, such as Trichoderma. This study aimed to investigate the relative importance of various crop soil parameters in the adaptation of Trichoderma spp. autoclaved soils (AS) and natural soils (NS) from the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) “Alubia La Bañeza—León” that were inoculated with Trichoderma velutinum T029 and T. harzianum T059 and incubated in a culture chamber at 25 °C for 15 days. Their development was determined by quantitative PCR. Twelve soil samples were selected and analyzed from the productive zones of Astorga, La Bañeza, La Cabrera, Esla-Campos and Páramo. Their physicochemical characteristics were different by zone, as the texture of soils ranged between sandy loam and silt loam and the pH between strongly acid and slightly alkaline, as well as the organic matter (OM) concentration between low and remarkably high. Total C and N concentrations and their ratio were between medium and high in most of the soils and the rest of the micronutrients had an acceptable concentration except for Paramo’s soil. Both Trichoderma species developed better in AS than in NS, T. velutinum T029 grew better with high levels of OM, total C, ratio C:N, P, K, Fe, and Zn than T. harzianum T059 in clay soils, with the highest values of cation exchange capacity (CEC), pH, Ca, Mg and Mn. These effects were validated by Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA), texture, particularly clay concentration, OM, electrical conductivity (EC), and pH (physical parameters) and B and Cu (soil elements) are the main factors explaining the influence in the Trichoderma development. OM, EC, C:N ratio and Cu are the main soil characteristics that influence in T. velutinum T029 development and pH in the development of T. harzianum T059.

Fungi from the genus Trichoderma have a worldwide distribution and are commonly found in agricultural lands. Further, it has been described as a non-virulent and symbiont microorganism that can contribute to minimize the pernicious effects of pathogens. In the present work we have isolated Trichoderma spp. from bark of grapevine in different orchards in order to determine the influence of fungicide application and vine age on Trichoderma diversity in plant. An opposite correlation between the number of fungicides sprayed per campaign and the diversity of Trichoderma spp. isolates was found. Moreover, the older are grapevine plants the higher is the diversity of Trichoderma spp. isolates. The different Trichoderma strains isolated were tested against Phaeoacremonium minimum, a grapevine trunk pathogen, to evaluate their biocontrol capacity. Three Trichoderma strains shown a significant capacity to control P. minimum and were selected as candidates to be used as biological control agents. In addition, a rapid and easy method for isolating Trichoderma spp. from grapevine plants has been developed, which allowed to determine that the reduction in the amount of pesticide use, together with the preservation of old vineyards, lead to healthier agroecosystems containing higher levels of beneficial microorganisms.

Self-inhibitory processes are a common feature shared by different organisms. One of the main mechanisms involved in these interactions regarding microorganisms is the release of toxic diffusible substances into the environment. These metabolites can exert both antimicrobial effects against other organisms as well as self-inhibitory ones. The in vitro evaluation of these effects against other organisms has been widely used to identify potential biocontrol agents against phytopathogenic microorganisms. In the present study, we performed membrane assays to compare the self-inhibitory effects of soluble metabolites produced by several Trichoderma isolates and their antifungal activity against a phytopathogenic strain of Fusarium oxysporum. The results demonstrated that Trichoderma spp. present a high self-inhibitory activity in vitro, being affected in both their growth rate and the macroscopic structure of their colonies. These effects were highly similar to those exerted against F. oxysporum in the same conditions, showing no significant differences in most cases. Consequently, membrane assays may not be very informative by themselves to assess putative biocontrol capabilities. Therefore, different methods, or a combination of antifungal and self-inhibitory experiments, could be a better approach to evaluate the potential biocontrol activity of microbial strains in order to pre-select them for further in vivo trials.

The number of plants produced in horticultural substrates has increased over the last decade. These substrates are to have some physicochemical and phytosanitary characteristics that allow for optimal growth. Rhizoctonia solani JG Kühn is one of the root and hypocotyl diseases that frequently develops in seedbeds causing severe economic losses worldwide. The aim of this work was to evaluate the substrates and additives used in bean plantlets and the R. solani disease severity. The use of vermiculite or peat did not affect bean germination percentage, but peat promoted the development of the aerial part and vermiculite improved the growth of the root system. R. solani reduced bean germination percentage and bean growth in both peat and vermiculite. The presence of additives (bentonite and/or cornmeal) in the substrates (vermiculite or peat) reduced bean germination and development, favouring the severity of R. solani. However, the addition of cornmeal improves bean dry weight of the aerial part. So, whenever it is necessary to add additives to the substrates to improve the installation and development of a biocontrol agent, such as Trichoderma harzianum, the mix of peat and cornmeal would improve the development of both bean and biocontrol agent.

Trichothecenes are a family of terpenoid toxins produced by multiple genera of fungi, including plant and insect pathogens. Some trichothecenes produced by the fungus Fusarium are among the mycotoxins of greatest concern to food and feed safety because of their toxicity and frequent occurrence in cereal crops, and trichothecene production contributes to pathogenesis of some Fusarium species on plants. Collectively, fungi produce over 150 trichothecene analogs: i.e., molecules that share the same core structure but differ in patterns of substituents attached to the core structure. Here, we carried out genomic, phylogenetic, gene-function, and analytical chemistry studies of strains from nine fungal genera to identify genetic variation responsible for trichothecene structural diversity and to gain insight into evolutionary processes that have contributed to the variation. The results indicate that structural diversity has resulted from gain, loss, and functional changes of trichothecene biosynthetic (TRI) genes. The results also indicate that the presence of some substituents has arisen independently in different fungi by gain of different genes with the same function. Variation in TRI gene duplication and number of TRI loci was also observed among the fungi examined, but there was no evidence that such genetic differences have contributed to trichothecene structural variation. We also inferred ancestral states of the TRI cluster and trichothecene biosynthetic pathway, and proposed scenarios for changes in trichothecene structures during divergence of TRI cluster homologs. Together, our findings provide insight into evolutionary processes responsible for structural diversification of toxins produced by pathogenic fungi.

Trichoderma harzianum is a filamentous fungus well adapted to different ecological niches. Owing to its ability to antagonize a wide range of plant pathogens, it is used as a biological control agent in agriculture. Selected strains of T. harzianum are also able to increase the tolerance of plants to biotic and abiotic stresses. However, little is known about the regulatory elements of the T. harzianum transcriptional machinery and their role in the biocontrol by this species. We had previously reported the involvement of the transcription factor THCTF1 in the T. harzianum production of the secondary metabolite 6-pentyl-pyrone, an important volatile compound related to interspecies cross-talk. Here, we performed a subtractive hybridization to explore the genes regulated by THCTF1, allowing us to identify a multiprotein bridging factor 1 (mbf1) homolog. The gene from T. harzianum T34 was isolated and characterized, and the generated Thmbf1 overexpressing transformants were used to investigate the role of this gene in the biocontrol abilities of the fungus against two plant pathogens. The transformants showed a reduced antifungal activity against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici race 2 (FO) and Botrytis cinerea (BC) in confrontation assays on discontinuous medium, indicating that the Thmbf1 gene could affect T. harzianum production of volatile organic compounds (VOC) with antifungal activity. Moreover, cellophane and dialysis membrane assays indicated that Thmbf1 overexpression affected the production of low molecular weight secreted compounds with antifungal activity against FO. Intriguingly, no correlation in the expression profiles, either in rich or minimal medium, was observed between Thmbf1 and the master regulator gene cross-pathway control (cpc1). Greenhouse assays allowed us to evaluate the biocontrol potential of T. harzianum strains against BC and FO on susceptible tomato plants. The wild type strain T34 significantly reduced the necrotic leaf lesions caused by BC while plants treated with the Thmbf1-overexpressing transformants exhibited an increased susceptibility to this pathogen. The percentages of Fusarium wilt disease incidence and values of aboveground dry weight showed that T34 did not have biocontrol activity against FO, at least in the ‘Moneymaker’ tomato variety, and that Thmbf1 overexpression increased the incidence of this disease. Our results show that the Thmbf1 overexpression in T34 negatively affects its biocontrol mechanisms.

This fact gives rise to a higher effectiveness in the activities of firms. This paper analyze the characteristics and performance of multifunctional teams, virtual teams, open-innovation teams and self-managing teams. It also study the case of Semco, a company that is characterized by its innovative practices in human resources management and focus on responsibility and initiative and increase the self-control of team members.

Determining the relevant aspects of family businesses (FBs) that make them increasingly competitive is the main objective of researchers in this field. Despite this, there is little empirical literature on the behavior of the internal customer (IC) in FBs or how businesses increase their satisfaction. Basing our work on psychological theories and with both quantitative and qualitative information from 31 semi-structured interviews, this work establishes certain characteristics of the ICs of the FB and proposes a series of guidelines for increasing their satisfaction, thereby facilitating the continuity of this type of business. FBs that are able to understand that the motivation of their ICs is more important than other qualities, and that this requires a more comprehensive management will be able to get sustainable competitive advantages in the future.

Within the context of the consumption of goods or services the decisions made by individuals involve the choice between a set of discrete alternatives, such as the choice of mode of transport. The methodology for analyzing the consumer behavior are the models of discrete choice based on the Theory of Random Utility. These models are based on the definition of preferences through a utility function that is maximized. These models also denominated of disaggregated demand derived from the decision of a set of individuals, who are formalized by the application of probabilistic models. The objective of this study is to determine the behavior of the consumer in the choice of a service, namely of transport services and in a short-distance corridor, such as Toledo-Madrid. The Toledo-Madrid corridor is characterized by being short distance, with high speed train available within the choice options to get the airport, along with the bus and the car. And where offers of HST and aircraft services can be proposed as complementary modes. By applying disaggregated transport models with revealed preference survey data and declared preferences, one can determine the most important variables involved in the choice and determine the arrangements for payment of individuals. These payment provisions may condition the use of certain transport policies to promote the use of efficient transportation.

Several Trichoderma spp. are well known for their ability to: (i) act as important biocontrol agents against phytopathogenic fungi; (ii) function as biofertilizers; (iii) increase the tolerance of plants to biotic and abiotic stresses; and (iv) induce plant defense responses via the production and secretion of elicitor molecules. In this study, we analyzed the gene-regulation effects of Trichoderma harzianum Epl-1 protein during the interactions of mutant Δepl-1 or wild-type T. harzianum strains with: (a) the phytopathogen Botrytis cinerea and (b) with tomato plants, on short (24 h hydroponic cultures) and long periods (4-weeks old plants) after Trichoderma inoculation. Our results indicate that T. harzianum Epl-1 protein affects the in vitro expression of B. cinerea virulence genes, especially those involved in the botrydial biosynthesis (BcBOT genes), during the mycoparasitism interaction. The tomato defense-related genes were also affected, indicating that Epl-1 is involved in the elicitation of the salicylic acid pathway. Moreover, Epl-1 also regulates the priming effect in host tomato plants and contributes to enhance the interaction with the host tomato plant during the early stage of root colonization.

Trichothecene mycotoxins are recognized as highly bioactive compounds that can be used in the design of new useful bioactive molecules. In Trichoderma brevicompactum, the first specific step in trichothecene biosynthesis is carried out by a terpene cyclase, trichodiene synthase, that catalyzes the conversion of farnesyl diphosphate to trichodiene and is encoded by the tri5 gene. Overexpression of tri5 resulted in increased levels of trichodermin, a trichothecene-type toxin, which is a valuable tool in preparing new molecules with a trichothecene skeleton. In this work, we developed the hemisynthesis of trichodermin and trichodermol derivatives in order to evaluate their antimicrobial and cytotoxic activities and to study the chemo-modulation of their bioactivity. Some derivatives with a short chain at the C-4 position displayed selective antimicrobial activity against Candida albicans and they showed MIC values similar to those displayed by trichodermin. It is important to highlight the cytotoxic selectivity observed for compounds 9, 13, and 15, which presented average IC50 values of 2 μg/mL and were cytotoxic against tumorigenic cell line MCF-7 (breast carcinoma) and not against Fa2N4 (non-tumoral immortalized human hepatocytes).

The common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is one of the most important food legume crops worldwide that is affected by phytopathogenic fungi such as Rhizoctonia solani. Biological control represents an effective alternative method for the use of conventional synthetic chemical pesticides for crop protection. Trichoderma spp. have been successfully used in agriculture both to control fungal diseases and to promote plant growth. The response of the plant to the invasion of fungi activates defensive resistance responses by inducing the expression of genes and producing secondary metabolites. The purpose of this work was to analyze the changes in the bean metabolome that occur during its interaction with pathogenic (R. solani) and antagonistic (T. velutinum) fungi. In this work, 216 compounds were characterized by liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis but only 36 were noted as significantly different in the interaction in comparison to control plants and they were tentatively characterized. These compounds were classified as: two amino acids, three peptides, one carbohydrate, one glycoside, one fatty acid, two lipids, 17 flavonoids, four phenols and four terpenes. This work is the first attempt to determine how the presence of T. velutinum and/or R. solani affect the defense response of bean plants using untargeted metabolomics analysis.

El estudio de la literatura medieval se lleva a cabo, a menudo, a partir de los principios metodológicos que elabora la historiografía literaria. Esto se debe tanto a la naturaleza histórica de la literatura, como a su utilización como parte de los discursos identitarios sobre los que, desde el siglo xviii, se han construido las naciones contemporáneas. Sin embargo, su aplicación resulta harto problemática cuando tal metodología pretende aplicarse a una realidad prenacional, como es la medieval. El final de la lírica gallegoportuguesa constituye un buen ejemplo de tales disfunciones metodológicas, cuánto más que su ordenación historiográfica se realiza desde un sistema literario minorizado, como el gallego, en el que la historia de la literatura se carga de una funcionalidad simbólica más amplia que en aquellos otros que gozan de plenitud institucional. Uno de los recursos narrativos sobre los que la historiografía gallega explica del fin del trovadorismo será el concepto de fecha clave, que en este caso girará en torno al año 1354, en que muere don Pedro, conde de Barcelos. El análisis comparado de esta propuesta narrativa con las de otras tradiciones líricas románicas revela las limitaciones de este tipo de explicaciones y alerta acerca de la asunción acrítica de los métodos de la historiografía literaria.

A finales del siglo XV Diego Rodríguez de Almela redactó, a petición de altas personalidades de la Orden de Santiago, una Compilación de Milagros de Santiago muy vinculada temáticamente con otros trabajos suyos de carácter historiográfico. En el contenido de la obra se percibe la fuerte huella de la tradición cronística castellana y de la escuela de Alonso de Cartagena, así como elementos de diversa naturaleza muy comprometidos con la situación de la Corona de Castilla en vísperas del fin de la Reconquista. La conveniencia de una peregrinación regia a Compostela y las dificultades en la elaboración del listado de maestres de la Orden al final de la Compilación, debidas esencialmente a conflictos políticos, condicionan por entero la ideología del texto.

El carcinoma adenoide quístico del conducto auditivo externo es un tumor extremadamente raro, con alta probabilidad de invasión perineural y de metástasis. Los objetivos de este trabajo son presentar un caso típico de una mujer de 63 años de edad, quien consultó por hipoacusia, plenitud aural y otalgia; así como describir la intervención quirúrgica realizada para su resección y su evolución postoperatoria.

Considering the complexity of the in vivo interactions established by a mycoparasitic biocontrol agent at the plant rhizosphere, proteomic, genomic, and transcriptomic approaches were used to study a novel Trichoderma gene coding for a plant cell wall (PCW)-degrading enzyme. A proteome analysis, using a three-component (Trichoderma spp.–tomato plantlets–pathogen) system, allowed us to identify a differentially expressed Trichoderma harzianum endopolygalacturonase (endoPG). Spot 0303 remarkably increased only in the presence of the soilborne pathogens Rhizoctonia solani and Pythium ultimum, and corresponded to an expressed sequence tag from a T. harzianum T34 cDNA library that was constructed in the presence of PCW polymers and used to isolate the Thpg1 gene. Compared with the wild-type strain, Thpg1-silenced transformants showed lower PG activity, less growth on pectin medium, and reduced capability to colonize tomato roots. These results were combined with microarray comparative data from the transcriptome of Arabidopsis plants inoculated with the wild type or a Thpg1-silenced transformant (ePG5). The endoPG-encoding gene was found to be required for active root colonization and plant defense induction by T. harzianum T34. In vivo assays showed that Botrytis cinerea leaf necrotic lesions were slightly smaller in plants colonized by ePG5, although no statistically significant differences were observed.

En los últimos años observamos como el incremento de la competencia y la necesidad de mejorar la calidad de las empresas turísticas están íntimamente relacionadas. Pero llama la atención que la mejora de la calidad no sea suficiente para hacer frente a los efectos que la globalización tiene en el sector. La repercusión del factor humano se ha analizado e investigado en el sector turístico pero se ha comprobado cómo posteriormente no se incorpora en los sistemas de medición y mejora de la calidad del servicio. Por este motivo esta investigación plantea una revisión de los modelos de gestión de calidad del servicio incorporando como pieza clave en el desarrollo de los servicios y en la fidelización y satisfacción de los clientes, al empleado. Su papel secundario ha dejado como único juez y sabio de la calidad al cliente, dejando al empleado sin ningún tipo de función significativa en cuanto a la gestión de la calidad del servicio. Se hace necesario por tanto crear nuevos modelos de gestión de calidad que integren al empleado y de esta forma ayudan a las empresas del sector a conseguir incrementos significativos y muy diferentes hacia la calidad del servicio.

Estudio de la recepción de la lírica gallegoportuguesa y del papel que esta escuela poética desempeña en los respectivos discursos de hegemonización de las literaturas gallega y portuguesa. Las estrategias de apropiación simbólica que utilizan ambas literaturas estarán determinadas por sus diferentes grados de institucionalización, ya que la gallega se encuentra en situación de minorización y la portuguesa actúa desde una posición hegemónica. No obstante, este tipo de enfrentamientos se sitúan en un marco de relaciones más amplio, que contempla una continuidad cultural entre Galicia y Portugal, al menos en los siglos XIII y XIV.

Objetivo: En este trabajo se presenta la aplicación del análisis coste-efectividad de tipo probabilístico al tratamiento con presión continua en la vía respiratoria por vía nasal (nasal continuous positive airway pressure, nCPAP) del síndrome de la apnea obstructiva del sueño (SAOS). Material y métodos: La base del estudio es un modelo de Markov probabilístico. Éste se caracteriza porque las variables se introducen en forma de distribuciones. El modelo se procesa mediante 2.000 simulaciones de Monte Carlo, cada una de las cuales calcula el coste y la efectividad incrementales. El resultado se analiza mediante el plano coste-efectividad, la curva de aceptabilidad, el beneficio neto y el valor esperado de la información perfecta. Resultados: La razón coste-efectividad del tratamiento con nCPAP media calculada es de 5.480 S/año de vida ajustado por calidad (AVAC). Utilizando como umbral de eficiencia la cifra de 30.000 €/AVAC, el análisis probabilístico muestra que en el 98,5% de las simulaciones el tratamiento con nCPAP es una práctica eficiente. El valor esperado de la información perfecta muestra que el parámetro que origina más incertidumbre en el resultado es la ganancia en calidad de vida producida por el tratamiento. Conclusiones: El análisis de tipo probabilístico ratifica el resultado de los estudios deterministas que caracterizan el tratamiento con nCPAP como una intervención eficiente. La ventaja añadida es que permite situar la incertidumbre en términos cuantitativos; en este caso la probabilidad de equivocarse es inferior al 5%. Además, el estudio muestra que para reducir esa incertidumbre la investigación debe centrarse en la mejora de la información referente a la calidad de vida.Objective: To describe the application of a probabilistic cost-effectiveness analysis to nasal continuous positive airway passage (nCPAP) treatment of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). Material and Methods: The probabilistic model was constructed from a discrete Markov model. This probabilistic approach is characterized by the introduction of variables as probability distributions. The model performed 2,000 Monte Carlo simulations, and incremental costs and effectiveness were calculated in each. The results were analyzed through the cost-effectiveness plane, the acceptability curve, the net benefit rule, and the expected value of perfect information (EVPI). Results: The mean cost-effectiveness ratio for nCPAP treatment was 5,480 S/QALY (quality-adjusted life year). Using an acceptability threshold of 30,000 €/QALY, the probabilistic analysis showed that nCPAP was the optimal treatment in 98.5% of the simulations. The EVPI showed that the parameter causing greatest uncertainty in the final results was the quality of life gain through nCPAP treatment. Conclusions: The results of our probabilistic analysis are endorsed by previous deterministic studies confirming that nCPAP treatment of OSAS is the most cost-effective strategy. An additional advantage of probabilistic analysis is that it allows uncertainty to be quantified; in the present case the probability of making the wrong decision was below 5%. Furthermore, this study reveals that to reduce uncertainty, research should center on improving information on quality of life.

El presente trabajo estudia la onomástica ficcional empleada por los trovadores provenzales, como vía de indagación que pretende acercarse a la casuística da fin’amors. Se tiene en cuenta la importancia del recurso retórico del exemplum, en tanto que procedimiento que presentiza actitudes morales a través de figuras paradigmáticas identificables con la voz de la enunciación poética, de manera que se reconozcan las actitudes morales que se derivan del sufrimiento amoroso. Se revelan así, además de los fundamentos de la doctrina del amor cortés, los universos ficcionales de los que se nutrían los trovadores provenzales y, al mismo tiempo, los procedimientos de ficcionalización utilizados en esa tradición lírica medieval.

La plupart des textes hispaniques traitant la matière de Bretagne sont produits entre la fin du Moyen Âge et le début de la Renaissance. Ce fait est paradoxal, car leur éclosion textuelle se produit précisément au moment où le genre des livres de chevalerie impose de nouvelles manières de narrer les expériences chevaleresques. La tension entre la survivance des vieilles histoires arthuriennes et leur décadence provoquée par ce renouveau stylistique permet de s'interroger sur les pratiques de lecture du public de l'époque et l'intérêt qu'il manifeste pour la littérature arthurienne. L'article étudie les processus de réinterprétation et d'actualisation de ces oeuvres, conditionnés par l'idéologie de cette période au sujet des rapports entre la royauté et la noblesse.
