[EN] Objective: To design and implement a laboratory teaching/learning strategy applied to male infertility diagnostic during COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Seventy-five students attending Module 3 (M3): Male Infertility Diagnostic Laboratories, of curricular unit Laboratories in Biomedicine 5 were divided into 8 groups to reduce students’ number in class. M3 was organized in 2 Wet labs (WL; laboratory training) and 2 Dry labs (DL; theoretical-practical classes). At the end of M3, students completed a satisfaction survey. Results: Results showed that most students were satisfied with topics addressed, time dedicated outside the class, evaluation, and overall organization of WL and DL. The protocols provided and general conditions of WL were considered satisfactory. Only positive classifications were attributed to the learning goals, relevance of knowledge acquired, and opportunities to ask about evaluation. Qualitative data suggested that the dynamics, innovation, and organization of classes, allied to the knowledge and motivation of professors, provided the appropriate learning environment. Conclusions: The methodology implemented in M3 during COVID-19 pandemic represents a valid strategy to encourage and motivate students learning, stimulate teamwork, communication, and autonomy in the laboratory. Dissertação de mestrado em Psicologia Clínica e Saúde (Psicogerontologia Clínica), apresentada à Faculdade de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação da Universidade de Coimbra O Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) é um instrumento breve de rastreio cognitivo que tem revelado uma elevada sensibilidade às formas de declínio cognitivo ligeiro. Estudos prévios comprovam a utilidade do MoCA na deteção de possíveis disfunções cognitivas em várias condições clínicas, nomeadamente na Esclerose Múltipla (EM). Com vista a reduzir possíveis efeitos de aprendizagem decorrentes da administração repetida desta prova em estudos de follow-up clínico, foram desenvolvidas duas formas alternativas do MoCA. Objetivos: O Estudo 1 pretende contribuir para a validação das versões alternativas do MoCA em pacientes com EM; o Estudo 2, tem por objetivo explorar e comparar o perfil de desempenho cognitivo entre os pacientes com EM e os doentes Defeito Cognitivo Ligeiro (DCL) do tipo degenerativo. Métodos: As três versões do MoCA foram administradas (intervalo médio = 29 dias) a uma amostra de pacientes com EM, tendo a 1ª versão (V1) sido administrada sempre em 1º lugar e as versões alternativas de forma contrabalanceada. Adicionalmente, em cada momento de avaliação foi também administrado o MMSE, sempre precedendo as versões do MoCA. Os pacientes do grupo clínico DCL realizaram apenas um momento de avaliação em que foram administrados o MMSE e o MoCA (V1), nesta ordem fixa. Resultados: No Estudo 1, foram avaliados 57 pacientes com EM, 86% do sexo feminino, com uma média de idades de 44.33 (± 11.74) anos e 12.25 (± 4.27) anos de escolaridade. As três provas revelaram boa consistência interna, respetivamente: .83, .85 e .85 e as correlações observadas são indicadoras de validade convergente e de constructo. A análise de regressão linear comprovou a influência significativa da idade e escolaridade nos resultados das 3 versões, com o modelo a explicar, respetivamente, 51%, 48% e 48% da variância total dos resultados. A idade de início da sintomatologia dos pacientes com EM foi a única variável clínica com capacidade preditiva significativa relativamente aos resultados obtidos nas três versões do MoCA, explicando, respetivamente, 12.6%, 11% e 8% da variância total dos resultados. O resultado médio na V1 foi 23.33 pontos, na 2ª (V2) de 24.28 pontos e na 3ª (V3) de 24.16 pontos. Não foram observadas diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre a V2 e V3 (t=.483, gl=56, p=.631) que foram administradas de forma contrabalanceada. No Estudo 2, foram avaliados 57 pacientes com DCL, 52.6% do sexo feminino, com uma média de idades de 74.49 (± 7.28) anos e 5.56 (± 3.37) anos de escolaridade. Foi possível verificar que os grupos clínicos EM e DCL apresentam desempenhos cognitivos globais não estatisticamente diferentes quer no MMSE quer na V1 do MoCA. No entanto, verificaram-se diferenças estatisticamente significativas ao nível dos domínios cognitivos comprometidos, com melhores desempenhos para o grupo clínico EM nos domínios da Função Executiva, Capacidade Visuo-espacial, Linguagem e Orientação. Conclusões: As três versões do MoCA revelam boas propriedades psicométricas para a avaliação dos pacientes com EM, tendo os resultados evidenciado a equivalência entre as V2 e V3 (Estudo 1) e os grupos clínicos EM e DCL apresentam desempenhos cognitivos globais similares, embora o grupo da EM tivesse um desempenho superior nalguns domínios (Estudo 2). The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) is a brief cognitive screening instrument that has shown a high sensitivity to mild forms of cognitive decline. Previous studies demonstrate the utility of the MoCA in the detection cognitive dysfunction in various clinical conditions, including the Multiple Sclerosis (MS). In order to reduce possible learning effects resulting from repeated exposition to the test during clinical follow-up, two alternative forms of administration MoCA were developed. Objectives: Study 1 aims to contribute to the validation of alternative versions of the MoCA in patients with MS and Study 2, explore and compare the profile of cognitive performance among patients with MS and degenerative Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). Methods: The three versions of MoCA were administered (mean interval = 29 days) to a sample of patients with MS, with the 1st version (V1) always administered in 1st place while the alternative versions were presented in counterbalanced manner. Additionally, at each stage of assessment, MMSE was also administered before each version of MoCA. Patients in the clinical MCI group performed only one assessment including both tests - the MMSE and the MoCA (V1), in this fixed order. Results: In Study 1, we assessed 57 patients with MS, 86% female, with an average age of 44.33 (± 11.74) years and 12.25 (± 4.27) years of schooling. The three tests showed good internal consistency, respectively .83, .85 and .85 and the observed correlations are indicators of convergent validity and construct. The linear regression analysis showed the significant influence of age and education on the results of the three versions, with the model explaining, respectively, 51%, 48% and 48% of the total variance of the results. The age of onset of symptoms in patients with MS was the only clinical variable with significant ability to predict the results obtained in the three versions of MoCA, explaining, respectively, 12.6%, 11% and 8% of the total variance of the results. The average result was 23.33 points in V1, the 2nd (V2) of 24.28 points and in 3rd (V3) of 24.16 points. There were no statistically significant differences between the versions that were administered counterbalanced (V2 and V3; t=.483, gl=56, p=.631). For Study 2, we evaluated 57 patients with MCI, 52.6% female, with an average age of 74.49 (± 7.28) and 5.56 years (± 3.37), years of schooling. We were able to confirm that the clinical groups MS and MCI did not present statistically different global cognitive performance in either the MMSE or MoCA V1. However, there were statistically significant differences in the cognitive domains analyzed with the MS group performing at a higher level in Executive Function, Visuospatial Skills, Language and Orientation domains. Conclusions: The three versions of MoCA show good psychometric properties for the evaluation of patients with MS, and the results demonstrated the equivalence between V2 and V3 (Study 1) and clinical groups MS and MCI have similar global cognitive performance, although the MS group performed at a higher level in some domains (Study 2).

Mestrado em Gestão A formação de parcerias é um fenómeno cada vez mais adotado em todo o mundo. Além disso, a formação das mesmas para capturarem financiamentos é uma situação a ter em consideração. Tendo em conta a importância da formação de parcerias é conveniente compreender certas situações. O presente estudo focou-se na vertente de interação social, ou seja, estudar fatores que influenciam a relação entre os envolvidos na parceria, e consequentemente, o seu impacto no desempenho da rede criada. No modelo conceptual proposto, existem três grupos. Um refere-se a antecedentes, ou seja, variáveis independentes que têm influência sobre os dois outros grupos (laços entre atores e desempenho da rede). Os antecedentes estudados foram as ligações anteriores, a força dos laços, a reputação, a definição e consistência dos objetivos, o compromisso e o conflito. No que respeita aos laços entre atores, estes tinham variáveis internas: a confiança, a reciprocidade e a comunicação. Por último, o desempenho da rede estava dividido em quatro componentes: perspetiva financeira, perspetiva do consumidor, perspetiva de processos internos e inovação e perspetiva de aprendizagem e conhecimento. Para a concretização deste estudo, após a realização de uma aprofundada revisão da bibliografia, elaborou-se um estudo empírico que se baseou na análise fatorial exploratória, seguindo-se a avaliação dos impactos entre os diferentes fatores através da análise de regressões lineares simples e múltiplas. Os resultados da análise não suportam todas as hipóteses propostas. No entanto, existe evidência que alguns antecedentes afetam os laços entre atores e o desempenho da rede, e que os laços entre atores afetam o desempenho da rede. The formation of partnerships is a phenomenon even more adopted worldwide. Moreover the formation of partnerships in order to capture financing is a situation to be taken into consideration. Bearing in mind the importance of constitution of the partnerships, it is necessary to understand certain situations. This study focused on the aspect of social interaction, ie studying factors which influence the relationship between the partners involved, and consequently, its impact on network performance created. In the proposed conceptual model, there are three groups. One refers to the antecedents, that means, independent variables which influence the other two groups (bond actors and network performance).The antecedents studied earlier were the previous links, the strength of ties, reputation, the definition and consistency of objectives, commitment and conflict. Regarding actors bonds, these had internal variables, trust, reciprocity and communication. Finally, the performance of the network was divided into four components: financial perspective, customer perspective, innovation and internal processes perspective, knowledge and learning perspective. To the completion of this study, after conducting a thorough review of the literature, we elaborated an empirical study that was based on factor exploratory analysis, followed by an evaluation of the impacts of the different factors through analysis of simple and multiple linear regressions. The results of the analysis do not support all the proposed hypotheses. However, there is evidence that some antecedents affect actors bonds and network performance, and that actors bonds affect network performance.

International audience; Phonological length is generally thought not to be relevant in Scottish English. However, some vowels are appreciably longer when followed by the past morpheme /d/ (instead of a tautomorphemic /d/), resulting in so-called `derived contrasts'. Do derived contrasts qualify as full-edged phonemic oppositions or should they be regarded as allophonic variation? In the current paper, which is a preliminary to perceptual experiments addressing this question, we quantify the differences in duration and spectral variation brought about by appending the dental suffix of the past morpheme to /u/, /i/, and /ai/. We show that consistent lengthening occurs for /u/ and /ai/, as well as stronger diphthongization in /ai/, which suggests that duration should perhaps be included in the vowel system of Scottish English.
