We present new Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) radio observations toward N49, one of the brightest extragalactic Supernova remnants (SNRs) located in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Our new and archival ATCA radio observations were analysed along with $Chandra$ X-ray data. These observations show a prominent `bullet' shaped feature beyond the southwestern boundary of the SNR. Both X-ray morphology and radio polarisation analysis support a physical connection of this feature to the SNR. The 'bullet' feature's apparent velocity is estimated at $\sim$1300 km s$^{-1}$, based on its distance ($\sim$10 pc) from the remnant's geometric centre and estimated age ($\sim$7600 yrs). we estimated the radio spectral index, $\alpha= -0.55 \pm 0.03$ which is typical of middle-age SNRs. Polarisation maps created for N49 show low to moderate levels of mean fractional polarisation estimated at 7$\pm$1% and 10$\pm$1% for 5.5 and 9 GHz, respectively. These values are noticeably larger than found in previous studies. Moreover, the mean value for the Faraday rotation of SNR N49 from combining CABB data is 212$\pm$65 rad m$^{-2}$ and the maximum value of RM is 591$\pm$103 rad m$^{-2}$., Comment: 16 pages, accepted for publication in Publications of the Astronomical Society of Australia

Massive star-forming regions (MSFRs) are commonly associated with hub-filament systems (HFSs) and sites of cloud-cloud collision (CCC). Recent observational studies of some MSFRs suggest a possible connection between CCC and the formation of HFSs. To understand this connection, we analyzed the magneto-hydrodynamic simulation data from Inoue et al. (2018). This simulation involves the collision of a spherical turbulent molecular cloud with a plane-parallel sea of dense molecular gas at a relative velocity of about 10 km/s. Following the collision, the turbulent and non-uniform cloud undergoes shock compression, rapidly developing filamentary structures within the compressed layer. We found that CCC can lead to the formation of HFSs, which is a combined effect of turbulence, shock compression, magnetic field, and gravity. The collision between the cloud components shapes the filaments into a cone and drives inward flows among them. These inward flows merge at the vertex of the cone, rapidly accumulating high-density gas, which can lead to the formation of massive star(s). The cone acts as a mass-collecting machine, involving a non-gravitational early process of filament formation, followed by gravitational gas attraction to finalize the HFS. The gas distribution in the position-velocity (PV) and position-position spaces highlights the challenges in detecting two cloud components and confirming their complementary distribution if the colliding clouds have a large size difference. Context: There are currently three pulsars firmly detected by imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes (IACTs), two of them reaching TeV energies, challenging models of very-high-energy (VHE) emission in pulsars. More precise observations are needed to better characterize pulsar emission at these energies. The LST-1 is the prototype of the Large-Sized Telescope, that will be part of the Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO). Its improved performance over previous IACTs makes it well suited for studying pulsars. Aims: To study the Crab pulsar emission with the LST-1, improving and complementing the results from other telescopes. These observations can also be used to characterize the potential of the LST-1 to study other pulsars and detect new ones. Methods: We analyzed a total of $\sim$103 hours of gamma-ray observations of the Crab pulsar conducted with the LST-1 in the period from September 2020 to January 2023. The observations were carried out at zenith angles less than 50 degrees. A new analysis of the Fermi-LAT data was also performed, including $\sim$14 years of observations. Results: The Crab pulsar phaseogram, long-term light-curve, and phase-resolved spectra are reconstructed with the LST-1 from 20 GeV to 450 GeV for P1 and up to 700 GeV for P2. The pulsed emission is detected with a significance of 15.2$\sigma$. The two characteristic emission peaks of the Crab pulsar are clearly detected (>10$\sigma$), as well as the so-called bridge emission (5.7$\sigma$). We find that both peaks are well described by power laws, with spectral indices of $\sim$3.44 and $\sim$3.03 respectively. The joint analysis of Fermi-LAT and LST-1 data shows a good agreement between both instruments in the overlapping energy range. The galactic tidal interaction is a possible mechanism to trigger the active star formation in galaxies. The recent analyses using the HI data in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) proposed that the tidally driven HI flow, the L-component, is colliding with the LMC disk, the D-component, and is triggering high-mass star formation toward the active star-forming regions R136 and N44. In order to explore the role of the collision over the entire LMC disk, we investigated the I-component, the collision-compressed gas between the L- and D-components, over the LMC disk, and found that 74% of the O/WR stars are located toward the I-component, suggesting their formation in the colliding gas. We compared four star-forming regions (R136, N44, N11, N77-N79-N83 complex). Monochromatic gamma-ray signals constitute a potential smoking gun signature for annihilating or decaying dark matter particles that could relatively easily be distinguished from astrophysical or instrumental backgrounds. We provide an updated assessment of the sensitivity of the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) to such signals, based on observations of the Galactic centre region as well as of selected dwarf spheroidal galaxies. We find that current limits and detection prospects for dark matter masses above 300 GeV will be significantly improved, by up to an order of magnitude in the multi-TeV range. This demonstrates that CTA will set a new standard for gamma-ray astronomy also in this respect, as the world's largest and most sensitive high-energy gamma-ray observatory, in particular due to its exquisite energy resolution at TeV energies and the adopted observational strategy focussing on regions with large dark matter densities. Throughout our analysis, we use up-to-date instrument response functions, and we thoroughly model the effect of instrumental systematic uncertainties in our statistical treatment. We present the first and deepest Australia Telescope Compact Array radio continuum images of the Honeycomb Nebula at 2000 and 5500 MHz solely from archival data. The resolutions of these images are 3.6 x 2.8 arcsec2 and 1.3 x 1.2 arcsec2 at 2000 and 5500 MHz. We find an average radio spectral index for the remnant of -0.76 +- 0.07. Polarisation maps at 5500 MHz reveal an average fractional polarisation of 25 +- 5% with a maximum value of 95 x 16. We estimate the equipartition field for Honeycomb Nebula of 48 +- 5 {\mu}G, with an estimated minimum energy of Emin = 3 x 1049 erg. The estimated surface brightness, {\Sigma}1 GHz , is 30 x 10-20 W m-2 Hz-1 sr-1; applying the {\Sigma}-D relation suggests this supernova remnant is expanding into a low-density environment. Finally, using Hi data, we can support the idea that the Honeycomb Nebula exploded inside a low-density wind cavity. We suggest that this remnant is likely to be between late free expansion stage and early Sedov phase of evolution and expanding into a low-density medium.

We present the first compelling evidence of shock-heated molecular clouds associated with the supernova remnant (SNR) N49 in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). Using $^{12}$CO($J$ = 2-1, 3-2) and $^{13}$CO($J$ = 2-1) line emission data taken with the Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array, we derived the H$_2$ number density and kinetic temperature of eight $^{13}$CO-detected clouds using the large velocity gradient approximation at a resolution of 3.5$''$ (~0.8 pc at the LMC distance). The physical properties of the clouds are divided into two categories: three of them near the shock front show the highest temperatures of ~50 K with densities of ~500-700 cm$^{-3}$, while other clouds slightly distant from the SNR have moderate temperatures of ~20 K with densities of ~800-1300 cm$^{-3}$. The former clouds were heated by supernova shocks, but the latter were dominantly affected by the cosmic-ray heating. These findings are consistent with the efficient production of X-ray recombining plasma in N49 due to thermal conduction between the cold clouds and hot plasma. We also find that the gas pressure is roughly constant except for the three shock-engulfed clouds inside or on the SNR shell, suggesting that almost no clouds have evaporated within the short SNR age of ~4800 yr. We present new and archival Australia Telescope Compact Array and Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array data of the Small Magellanic Cloud supernova remnant 1E 0102.2-7219 at 2100, 5500, 9000, and 108000 MHz; as well as Hi data provided by the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder. The remnant shows a ring-like morphology with a mean radius of 6.2 pc. The 5500 MHz image reveals a bridge-like structure, seen for the first time in a radio image. This structure is also visible in both optical and X-ray images. In the 9000 MHz image we detect a central feature that has a flux density of 4.3 mJy but rule out a pulsar wind nebula origin, due to the lack of significant polarisation towards the central feature with an upper limit of 4 per cent. The mean fractional polarisation for 1E 0102.2-7219 is 7 +- 1 and 12 +- 2 per cent for 5500 and 9000 MHz, respectively. The spectral index for the entire remnant is -0.61 +- 0.01. We estimate the line-of-sight magnetic field strength in the direction of 1E 0102.2-7219 of ~44 microG with an equipartition field of 65 +- 5 microG. This latter model, uses the minimum energy of the sum of the magnetic field and cosmic ray electrons only. We detect an Hi cloud towards this remnant at the velocity range of ~160-180 km s-1 and a cavity-like structure at the velocity of 163.7-167.6 km s-1. We do not detect CO emission towards 1E 0102.2-7219.

Galaxy clusters are expected to be dark matter (DM) reservoirs and storage rooms for the cosmic-ray protons (CRp) that accumulate along the cluster's formation history. Accordingly, they are excellent targets to search for signals of DM annihilation and decay at gamma-ray energies and are predicted to be sources of large-scale gamma-ray emission due to hadronic interactions in the intracluster medium. We estimate the sensitivity of the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) to detect diffuse gamma-ray emission from the Perseus galaxy cluster. We perform a detailed spatial and spectral modelling of the expected signal for the DM and the CRp components. For each, we compute the expected CTA sensitivity. The observing strategy of Perseus is also discussed. In the absence of a diffuse signal (non-detection), CTA should constrain the CRp to thermal energy ratio within the radius $R_{500}$ down to about $X_{500}<3\times 10^{-3}$, for a spatial CRp distribution that follows the thermal gas and a CRp spectral index $\alpha_{\rm CRp}=2.3$. Under the optimistic assumption of a pure hadronic origin of the Perseus radio mini-halo and depending on the assumed magnetic field profile, CTA should measure $\alpha_{\rm CRp}$ down to about $\Delta\alpha_{\rm CRp}\simeq 0.1$ and the CRp spatial distribution with 10% precision. Regarding DM, CTA should improve the current ground-based gamma-ray DM limits from clusters observations on the velocity-averaged annihilation cross-section by a factor of up to $\sim 5$, depending on the modelling of DM halo substructure. In the case of decay of DM particles, CTA will explore a new region of the parameter space, reaching models with $\tau_{\chi}>10^{27}$s for DM masses above 1 TeV. These constraints will provide unprecedented sensitivity to the physics of both CRp acceleration and transport at cluster scale and to TeV DM particle models, especially in the decay scenario., Comment: 93 pages (including author list, appendix and references), 143 figures. We present a new Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP) sample of 14 radio Supernova Remnant (SNR) candidates in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). This new sample is a significant increase to the known number of older, larger and low surface brightness LMC SNRs. We employ a multi-frequency search for each object and found possible traces of optical and occasionally X-ray emission in several of these 14 SNR candidates. One of these 14 SNR candidates (MCSNR J0522-6543) has multi-frequency properties that strongly indicate a bona fide SNR. We also investigate a sample of 20 previously suggested LMC SNR candidates and confirm the SNR nature of MCSNR J0506-6815. We detect lower surface brightness SNR candidates which were likely formed by a combination of shock waves and strong stellar winds from massive progenitors (and possibly surrounding OB stars). To understand the formation process of massive stars, we present a multi-scale and multi-wavelength study of the W31 complex hosting two extended HII regions (i.e., G10.30-0.15 (hereafter, W31-N) and G10.15-0.34 (hereafter, W31-S)) powered by a cluster of O-type stars. Several Class I protostars and a total of 49 ATLASGAL 870 $\mu$m dust clumps (at d = 3.55 kpc) are found toward the HII regions where some of the clumps are associated with the molecular outflow activity. These results confirm the existence of a single physical system hosting the early phases of star formation. The Herschel 250 $\mu$m continuum map shows the presence of hub-filament system (HFS) toward both W31-N and W31-S. The central hubs harbour HII regions and they are depicted with extended structures (with T$_{\text{d}}$ $\sim$ 25-32 K) in the Herschel temperature map. In the direction of W31-S, an analysis of the NANTEN2 $^{12}$CO(J = 1-0) and SEDIGISM $^{13}$CO(J = 2-1) line data supports the presence of two cloud components around 8 and 16 km s$^{-1}$, and their connection in velocity space. A spatial complementary distribution between the two cloud components is also investigated toward W31-S, where the signposts of star formation, including massive O-type stars, are concentrated. These findings favor the applicability of cloud-cloud collision (CCC) around $\sim$2 Myr ago in W31-S. We have carried out a study of the interstellar medium (ISM) toward a shell-like supernova remnant SNR Puppis A by using the NANTEN CO and ATCA HI data. We synthesized a comprehensive picture of the SNR radiation by combining the ISM data with the gamma-ray and X-ray distributions. The ISM, both atomic and molecular gas, is dense and highly clumpy, and is distributed all around the SNR, but mainly in the north-east. The CO distribution revealed an enhanced line intensity ratio of CO($J$ = 2-1)/($J$ = 1-0) transitions as well as CO line broadening, which indicate shock heating/acceleration. The results support that Puppis A is located at 1.4 kpc, in the local arm. The ISM interacting with the SNR has a large mass of $\sim$10$^{4}$ $M_{\odot}$ which is dominated by HI, showing good spatial correspondence with the Fermi-LAT gamma-ray image. This favors the hadronic origin of the gamma-rays, while additional contribution of the leptonic component is not excluded. The distribution of the X-ray ionization timescales within the shell suggests that the shock front ionized various parts of the ISM at epochs ranging over a few to ten 1000 yr. We therefore suggest that the age of the SNR is around 10$^{4}$ yr as given by the largest ionization timescale. We estimate the total cosmic ray energy $W_{\rm p}$ to be 10$^{47}$ erg, which is well placed in the cosmic-ray escaping phase of an age-$W_{\rm p}$ plot including more than ten SNRs., Comment: 17 pages, 12 figures, accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journal (ApJ)

We report new HI observations of the Type Ia supernova remnant SN 1006 using the Australia Telescope Compact Array with an angular resolution of $4.5' \times 1.4'$ ($\sim$2 pc at the assumed SNR distance of 2.2 kpc). We find an expanding gas motion in position-velocity diagrams of HI with an expansion velocity of $\sim$4 km s$^{-1}$ and a mass of $\sim$1000 $M_\odot$. The spatial extent of the expanding shell is roughly the same as that of SN 1006. We here propose a hypothesis that SN 1006 exploded inside the wind-blown bubble formed by accretion winds from the progenitor system consisting of a white dwarf and a companion star, and then the forward shock has already reached the wind wall. This scenario is consistent with the single-degenerate model. We also derived the total energy of cosmic-ray protons $W_\mathrm{p}$ to be only $\sim$1.2-$2.0 \times 10^{47}$ erg by adopting the averaged interstellar proton density of $\sim$25 cm$^{-3}$. The small value is compatible with the relation between the age and $W_\mathrm{p}$ of other gamma-ray supernova remnants with ages below $\sim$6 kyr. The $W_\mathrm{p}$ value in SN 1006 will possibly increase up to several 10$^{49}$ erg in the next $\sim$5 kyr via the cosmic-ray diffusion into the HI wind-shell., Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures, 1 table, accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journal (ApJ)

We report the discovery of J0624-6948, a low-surface brightness radio ring, lying between the Galactic Plane and the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). It was first detected at 888 MHz with the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP), and with a diameter of ~196 arcsec. This source has phenomenological similarities to Odd Radio Circles (ORCs). Significant differences to the known ORCs - a flatter radio spectral index, the lack of a prominent central galaxy as a possible host, and larger apparent size - suggest that J0624-6948 may be a different type of object. We argue that the most plausible explanation for J0624-6948 is an intergalactic supernova remnant due to a star that resided in the LMC outskirts that had undergone a single-degenerate type Ia supernova, and we are seeing its remnant expand into a rarefied, intergalactic environment. We also examine if a massive star or a white dwarf binary ejected from either galaxy could be the supernova progenitor. Finally, we consider several other hypotheses for the nature of the object, including the jets of an active galactic nucleus (AGN) or the remnant of a nearby stellar super-flare., Comment: 20 pages accepted to MNRAS

We report on CO and HI studies of the mixed-morphology supernova remnant (SNR) G346.6$-$0.2. We find a wind-blown bubble along the radio continuum shell with an expansion velocity of $\sim10$ km s$^{-1}$, which was likely formed by strong stellar winds from the high-mass progenitor of the SNR. The radial velocities of the CO/HI bubbles at $V_\mathrm{LSR} = -82$-$-59$ km s$^{-1}$ are also consistent with those of shock-excited 1720 MHz OH masers. The molecular cloud in the northeastern shell shows a high-kinetic temperature of $\sim60$ K, suggesting that shock-heating occurred. The HI absorption studies imply that G346.6$-$0.2 is located on the far side of the Galactic center from us, and the kinematic distance of the SNR is derived to be $11.1_{-0.3}^{+0.5}$ kpc. We find that the CO line intensity has no specific correlation with the electron temperature of recombining plasma, implying that the recombining plasma in G346.6$-$0.2 was likely produced by adiabatic cooling. With our estimates of the interstellar proton density 280 cm$^{-3}$ and gamma-ray luminosity $< 5.8 \times 10^{34}$ erg s$^{-1}$, the total energy of accelerated cosmic rays $W_{\rm p} < 9.3 \times 10^{47}$ erg is obtained. A comparison of the age-$W_{\rm p}$ relation to other SNRs suggests that most of the accelerated cosmic rays in G346.6$-$0.2 have been escaped from the SNR shell., Comment: 14 pages, 7 figures, 1 table, accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journal (ApJ)

We present a comprehensive multi-frequency catalogue of radio sources behind the Large Magellanic Cloud between 0.2 and 20 GHz, gathered from a combination of new and legacy radio continuum surveys. This catalogue covers an area of $\sim$144~deg$^2$ at angular resolutions from 45 arcsec to $\sim$3 arcmin. We find 6434 discrete radio sources in total, of which 3789 are detected at two or more radio frequencies. We estimate the median spectral index ($\alpha$; where $S_{v}\sim\nu^\alpha$) of $\alpha = -0.89 $ and mean of $-0.88 \pm 0.48$ for 3636 sources detected exclusively at two frequencies (0.843 and 1.384 GHz) with similar resolution (FWHM $\sim$40-45 arcsec). The large frequency range of the surveys makes it an effective tool to investigate Gigahertz Peak Spectrum (GPS), Compact Steep Spectrum (CSS) and Infrared Faint Radio sources populations within our sample. We find 10 GPS candidates with peak frequencies near 5 GHz, from which we estimate their linear size. 1866 sources from our catalogue are (CSS) candidates with $\alpha <-0.8$. We found six candidates for High Frequency Peaker (HFP) sources, whose radio fluxes peak above 5 GHz and no sources with unconstrained peaks and $\alpha~>0.5$. We found optical counterparts for 343 of the radio continuum sources, of which 128have a redshift measurement. We carried out new CO($J$ = 2-1) observations toward the mixed-morphology supernova remnant (SNR) W49B with the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA). We found that CO clouds at $\sim$10 km s$^{-1}$ show a good spatial correspondence with synchrotron radio continuum as well as an X-ray deformed shell. The bulk mass of molecular clouds accounts for the western part of the shell, not for the eastern shell where near-infrared H$_2$ emission is detected. The molecular clouds at $\sim$10 km s$^{-1}$ show higher kinetic temperature of $\sim$20-60 K, suggesting that modest shock-heating occurred. The expanding motion of the clouds with $\Delta V \sim$6 km s$^{-1}$ was formed by strong winds from the progenitor system. We argue that the barrel-like structure of Fe rich ejecta was possibly formed not only by an asymmetric explosion, but also by interactions with dense molecular clouds. We also found a negative correlation between the CO intensity and the electron temperature of recombining plasma, implying that the origin of the high-temperature recombining plasma in W49B can be understood as the thermal conduction model. The total energy of accelerated cosmic-ray protons $W_\mathrm{p}$ is estimated to be $\sim$$2\times 10^{49}$ erg by adopting an averaged gas density of $\sim$$650\pm200$ cm$^{-3}$. The SNR age-$W_\mathrm{p}$ diagram indicates that W49B shows one of the highest in-situ values of $W_\mathrm{p}$ in the gamma-ray bright SNRs., Comment: 19 pages, 10 figures, 2 tables, published in The Astrophysical Journal (ApJ)

30 Doradus C is a superbubble which emits the brightest nonthermal X- and TeV gamma-rays in the Local Group. In order to explore detailed connection between the high energy radiation and the interstellar medium, we have carried out new CO and HI observations using the Atacama Large Millimeter$/$Submillimeter Array (ALMA), Atacama Submillimeter Telescope Experiment, and the Australia Telescope Compact Array with resolutions of up to 3 pc. The ALMA data of $^{12}$CO($J$ = 1-0) emission revealed 23 molecular clouds with the typical diameters of $\sim$6-12 pc and masses of $\sim$600-10000 $M_{\odot}$. The comparison with the X-rays of $XMM$-$Newton$ at $\sim$3 pc resolution shows that X-rays are enhanced toward these clouds. The CO data were combined with the HI to estimate the total interstellar protons. Comparison of the interstellar proton column density and the X-rays revealed that the X-rays are enhanced with the total proton. These are most likely due to the shock-cloud interaction modeled by the magnetohydrodynamical simulations (Inoue et al. 2012, ApJ, 744, 71). Further, we note a trend that the X-ray photon index varies with distance from the center of the high-mass star cluster, suggesting that the cosmic-ray electrons are accelerated by one or multiple supernovae in the cluster. W3 is one of the most outstanding regions of high-mass star formation in the outer solar circle, including two active star-forming clouds, W3 Main and W3(OH). Based on a new analysis of the $^{12}$CO data obtained at 38$^{\prime\prime}$ resolution, we have found three clouds having molecular mass from 2000 to 8000~$M_\odot$ at velocities, $-50$~km s$^{-1}$, $-43$~km s$^{-1}$, and $-39$~km s$^{-1}$. The $-43$~km s$^{-1}$ cloud is the most massive one, overlapping with the $-39$~km s$^{-1}$ cloud and the $-50$~km s$^{-1}$ cloud toward W3 Main and W3(OH), respectively. In W3 Main and W3(OH), we have found typical signatures of a cloud-cloud collision, i.e., the complementary distribution with/without a displacement between the two clouds and/or a V-shape in the position-velocity diagram. We frame a hypothesis that a cloud-cloud collision triggered the high-mass star formation in each region. The collision in W3 Main involves the $-39$~km s$^{-1}$ cloud and the $-43$~km s$^{-1}$ cloud. The collision likely produced a cavity in the $-43$~km s$^{-1}$ cloud having a size similar to the $-39$~km s$^{-1}$ cloud and triggered the formation of young high-mass stars in IC~1795 2 Myr ago. We suggest that the $-39$~km s$^{-1}$ cloud is still triggering the high-mass objects younger than 1 Myr embedded in W3 Main currently. On the other hand, another collision between the $-50$~km s$^{-1}$ cloud and the $-43$~km s$^{-1}$ cloud likely formed the heavily embedded objects in W3(OH) within $\sim$0.5 Myr ago. We have carried out a new kinematical analysis of the molecular gas in the Sh2-233 region by using the CO $J$ = 2-1 data taken at $\sim$0.5 pc resolution. The molecular gas consists of a filamentary cloud of 5-pc length with 1.5-pc width where two dense cloud cores are embedded. The filament lies between two clouds, which have a velocity difference of 2.6 km s$^{-1}$ and are extended over $\sim$5 pc. We frame a scenario that the two clouds are colliding with each other and compressed the gas between them to form the filament in $\sim$0.5 Myr which is perpendicular to the collision. It is likely that the collision formed not only the filamentary cloud but also the two dense cores. One of the dense cores is associated with the high-mass protostellar candidate IRAS 05358+3543, a representative high-mass protostar. In the monolithic collapse scheme of high mass star formation, a compact dense core of 100 $M_\odot$ within a volume of 0.1 pc radius is assumed as the initial condition, whereas the formation of such a core remained unexplained in the previous works. We argue that the proposed collision is a step which efficiently collects the gas of 100 $M_\odot$ into 0.1 pc radius. HESS J1825-137 is one of the most powerful and luminous TeV gamma-ray pulsar wind nebulae (PWN). To the south of HESS J1825-137, Fermi-LAT observation revealed a new region of GeV gamma-ray emission with three apparent peaks (termed here, GeV-ABC). This study presents interstellar medium (ISM) data and spectral energy distribution (SED) modelling towards the GeV emission to understand the underlying particle acceleration. We considered several particle accelerator scenarios - the PWN associated with HESS J1825-137, the progenitor SNR also associated with HESS J1825-137, plus the gamma-ray binary system LS\,5039. It was found that the progenitor SNR of HESS J1825-137 has insufficient energetics to account for all GeV emission. GeV-ABC may be a reflection of an earlier epoch in the history of the PWN associated with HESS\,1825-137, assuming fast diffusion perhaps including advection. LS\,5039 cannot meet the required energetics to be the source of particle acceleration. Star-forming (SF) regions embedded inside giant molecular clouds (GMCs) are potential contributors to Galactic gamma rays. The gamma-ray source 3FHL J1907.0+0713 is detected with a significance of roughly 13$\sigma$ in the 0.2 $-$ 300 GeV energy range after the removal of gamma-ray pulsation periods of PSR J1906+0722 from the Fermi-LAT data set of about 10 years. The energy spectrum of 3FHL J1907.0+0713 is best-fitted to a power law model with a spectral index of 2.26 $\pm$ 0.05. The CO($J$ = 1$-$0) data taken by NANTEN2 revealed that 3FHL J1907.0+0713 is overlapping with a GMC having a peak velocity of about 38 km s$^{-1}$. The best-fitting location of 3FHL J1907.0+0713 is measured to be approximately 0.13 degrees away from the Galactic supernova remnant (SNR) 3C 397 and it overlaps with a star that is associated with a bow-shock nebula. We show that there is no physical connection between 3FHL J1907.0+0713, 3C 397, as well as any positional coincidence with the pulsar. The spectrum of 3FHL J1907.0+0713 is fitting to both hadronic and leptonic gamma-ray emission models and the total luminosity at a distance of 2.6 kpc is calculated to be 1.1 $\times$ 10$^{34}$ erg s$^{-1}$. RX J1713.7-3946 is a unique core-collapse SNR that emits bright TeV gamma-rays and synchrotron X-rays caused by cosmic rays, in addition to interactions with interstellar gas clouds. We report here on results of ALMA $^{12}$CO($J$ = 1-0) observations toward the northwestern shell of the SNR. We newly found three molecular complexes consisting of dozens of shocked molecular cloudlets and filaments with typical radii of $\sim$0.03-0.05 pc and densities of $\sim$$10^4$ cm$^{-3}$. These cloudlets and filaments are located not only along synchrotron X-ray filaments, but also in the vicinity of X-ray hotspots with month or year-scale time variations. We argue that X-ray hotspots were generated by shock-cloudlet interactions through magnetic-field amplification up to mG. The ISM density contrast of $\sim$$10^5$, coexistence of molecular cloudlets and low-density diffuse medium of $\sim$0.1 cm$^{-3}$, is consistent with such a magnetic field amplification as well as a wind-bubble scenario. The Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA), the new-generation ground-based observatory for $\gamma$-ray astronomy, provides unique capabilities to address significant open questions in astrophysics, cosmology, and fundamental physics. We study some of the salient areas of $\gamma$-ray cosmology that can be explored as part of the Key Science Projects of CTA, through simulated observations of active galactic nuclei (AGN) and of their relativistic jets. Observations of AGN with CTA will enable a measurement of $\gamma$-ray absorption on the extragalactic background light with a statistical uncertainty below 15% up to a redshift $z=2$ and to constrain or detect $\gamma$-ray halos up to intergalactic-magnetic-field strengths of at least 0.3pG. Extragalactic observations with CTA also show promising potential to probe physics beyond the Standard Model. The best limits on Lorentz invariance violation from $\gamma$-ray astronomy will be improved by a factor of at least two to three. CTA will also probe the parameter space in which axion-like particles could constitute a significant fraction, if not all, of dark matter. We provide an updated assessment of the power of the Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) to search for thermally produced dark matter at the TeV scale, via the associated gamma-ray signal from pair-annihilating dark matter particles in the region around the Galactic centre. We find that CTA will open a new window of discovery potential, significantly extending the range of robustly testable models given a standard cuspy profile of the dark matter density distribution. Importantly, even for a cored profile, the projected sensitivity of CTA will be sufficient to probe various well-motivated models of thermally produced dark matter at the TeV scale. This is due to CTA's unprecedented sensitivity, angular and energy resolutions, and the planned observational strategy. The survey of the inner Galaxy will cover a much larger region than corresponding previous observational campaigns with imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes. CTA will map with unprecedented precision the large-scale diffuse emission in high-energy gamma rays, constituting a background for dark matter searches for which we adopt state-of-the-art models based on current data. Throughout our analysis, we use up-to-date event reconstruction Monte Carlo tools developed by the CTA consortium, and pay special attention to quantifying the level of instrumental systematic uncertainties, as well as background template systematic errors, required to probe thermally produced dark matter at these energies. N132D is the brightest gamma-ray supernova remnant (SNR) in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). We carried out $^{12}$CO($J$ = 1-0, 3-2) observations toward the SNR using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) and Atacama Submillimeter Telescope Experiment. We find diffuse CO emission not only at the southern edge of the SNR as previously known, but also inside the X-ray shell. We spatially resolved nine molecular clouds using ALMA with an angular resolution of $5''$, corresponding to a spatial resolution of $\sim$1 pc at the distance of the LMC. Typical cloud sizes and masses are $\sim$2.0 pc and $\sim$100 $M_\odot$, respectively. High-intensity ratios of CO $J$ = 3-2 / 1-0 $> 1.5$ are seen toward the molecular clouds, indicating that shock-heating has occurred. Spatially resolved X-ray spectroscopy reveals that thermal X-rays in the center of N132D are produced not only behind a molecular cloud, but also in front of it. Considering the absence of a thermal component associated with the forward shock towards one molecular cloud located along the line of sight to the center of the remnant, this suggests that this particular cloud is engulfed by shock waves and is positioned on the near side of remnant. If the hadronic process is the dominant contributor to the gamma-ray emission, the shock-engulfed clouds play a role as targets for cosmic-rays. We estimate the total energy of cosmic-ray protons accelerated in N132D to be $\sim$0.5-$3.8 \times 10^{49}$ erg as a conservative lower limit, which is similar to that observed in Galactic gamma-ray SNRs., Comment: 18 pages, 2 tables, 11 figures, accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journal (ApJ)

We have analyzed new CO($J$ = 1-0) data in the region of a reflection nebula NGC 2023 with a particular focus on the detailed kinematical properties of the molecular gas. The results show that there are two velocity components which indicate signatures of dynamical interaction revealed at a high resolution of 19$''$ (= 0.04 pc). Based on the results we propose a hypothesis that two clouds collided with each other and triggered the formation of the B1.5 star HD 37903 in addition to 20 lower mass stars in two small clusters with a size of 2 pc. Although the previous study favored a scheme of triggering by the HII region (e.g., Mookerjea et al. 2009), the present results show that the effect of the HII region is limited only to the surface of the molecular cloud, and does not contribute to the gas compression and star formation. The present results lend support for the dominant role of cloud-cloud collision in forming high mass stars in addition to $\sim$20 lower mass stars, which are also likely formed by the collision. LHA 115-N 83 (N83) and LHA 115-N 84 (N84) are HII regions associated with the early stage of star formation located in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC). We have analyzed the new HI data taken with the Galactic Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder survey project at a high angular resolution of 30". We found that the two clouds, having $\sim$40 km s$^{-1}$ velocity separation, show complementary distribution with each other, and part of the HI gas is dispersed by the ionization. In addition, the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array observations revealed clumpy CO clouds of 10$^{5}$ $M_{\odot}$ in total over an extent of 100 pc, which are also well correlated with the HII regions. There is a hint of displacement between the two complementary components, which indicate that the red-shifted HI cloud is moving from the north to the south by $\sim$100 pc. This motion is similar to what is found in NGC 602 (Fukui et al. 2020), suggesting a large scale systematic gas flow. We frame a scenario that the two components collided with each other and triggered the formation of N83, N84, and six O-type stars around them in a time scale of a few Myr ($\sim$60 pc / 40 km s$^{-1}$). The supersonic motion compressed the HI gas to form the CO clouds in the red-shifted HI cloud, some of which are forming O-type stars ionizing the HII regions in the last Myr. The red-shifted HI cloud probably flows to the direction of the Magellanic Bridge. NGC 602 is an outstanding young open cluster in the Small Magellanic Cloud. We have analyzed the new HI data taken with the Galactic Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder survey project at an angular resolution of 30". The results show that there are three velocity components in the NGC 602 region. We found that two of them having ~20 km s$^{-1}$ velocity separation show complementary spatial distribution with a displacement of 147 pc. We present a scenario that the two clouds collided with each other and triggered the formation of NGC 602 and eleven O stars. The average time scale of the collision is estimated to be ~8 Myr, while the collision may have continued over a few Myr. The red shifted HI cloud extending ~500 pc flows possibly to the Magellanic Bridge, which was driven by the close encounter with the Large Magellanic Cloud 200 Myr ago (Fujimoto & Noguchi 1990; Muller & Bekki 2007). Here we present a radio continuum study based on new and archival data from the Australia Telescope Compact Array towards N 103B, a young (<=1000 yrs) spectroscopically confirmed type Ia SNR in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) and proposed to have originated from a single degenerate progenitor. The radio morphology of this SNR is asymmetrical with two bright regions towards the north-west and south-west of the central location as defined by radio emission. N 103B identified features include: a radio spectral index of -0.75+-0.01 (consistent with other young type Ia SNRs in the Galaxy); a bulk SNR expansion rate as in X-rays; morphology and polarised electrical field vector measurements where we note radial polarisation peak towards the north-west of the remnant at both 5500 and 9000 MHz. The spectrum is concave-up and the most likely reason is the non-linear diffusive shock acceleration effects or presence of two different populations of ultra-relativistic electrons. We also note unpolarized clumps near the south-west region which is in agreement with this above scenario. We derive a typical magnetic field strength for N 103B, of 16.4 microG for an average rotation measurement of 200 rad m^-2. However, we estimate the equipartition field to be of the order of ~235 microG with an estimated minimum energy of Emin=6.3*10^48 erg. The close (~0.5 degree) proximity of N 103B to the LMC mid-plane indicates that an early encounter with dense interstellar medium may have set an important constrain on SNR evolution. Finally, we compare features of N 103B, to six other young type Ia SNRs in the LMC and Galaxy, with a range of proposed degeneracy scenarios to highlight potential differences due to a different models. We suggest that the single degenerate scenario might point to morphologically asymmetric type Ia supernova explosions.

We present two new radio continuum images from the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP) survey in the direction of the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC). These images are part of the Evolutionary Map of the Universe (EMU) Early Science Project (ESP) survey of the Small and Large Magellanic Clouds. The two new source lists produced from these images contain radio continuum sources observed at 960 MHz (4489 sources) and 1320 MHz (5954 sources) with a bandwidth of 192 MHz and beam sizes of 30.0"x30.0" and 16.3"x15.1", respectively. The median Root Mean Squared (RMS) noise values are 186$\mu$Jy beam$^{-1}$ (960 MHz) and 165$\mu$Jy beam$^{-1}$ (1320 MHz). To create point source catalogues, we use these two source lists, together with the previously published Molonglo Observatory Synthesis Telescope (MOST) and the Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA) point source catalogues to estimate spectral indices for the whole population of radio point sources found in the survey region. Combining our ASKAP catalogues with these radio continuum surveys, we found 7736 point-like sources in common over an area of 30 deg$^2$. In addition, we report the detection of two new, low surface brightness supernova remnant candidates in the SMC. The high sensitivity of the new ASKAP ESP survey also enabled us to detect the bright end of the SMC planetary nebula sample, with 22 out of 102 optically known planetary nebulae showing point-like radio continuum emission. We examine the new Galactic supernova remnant (SNR) candidate, G23.11+0.18, as seen by the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) radio telescope. We describe the morphology of the candidate and find a spectral index of -0.63+/-0.05 in the 70-170MHz domain. A coincident TeV gamma-ray detection in High-Energy Stereoscopic System (HESS) data supports the SNR nature of G23.11+0.18 and suggests that G23.11+0.18 is accelerating particles beyond TeV energies, thus making this object a promising new cosmic ray hadron source candidate. The remnant cannot be seen in current optical, infrared and X-ray data-sets. We do find, however, a dip in CO-traced molecular gas at a line-of-sight velocity of ~85 km/s, suggesting the existence of a G23.11+0.18 progenitor wind-blown bubble. Furthermore, the discovery of molecular gas clumps at a neighbouring velocity towards HESS J1832-085 adheres to the notion that a hadronic gamma-ray production mechanism is plausible towards the north of the remnant. We investigate the interstellar medium (ISM) towards seven TeV gamma-ray sources thought to be pulsar wind nebulae (PWNe) using Mopra molecular line observations at 7mm [CS(1-0), SiO(1-0,v=0)], Nanten CO(1-0) data and the SGPS/GASS HI survey. We have discovered several dense molecular clouds co-located to these TeV gamma-ray sources , which allows us to search for cosmic-rays (CRs) coming from progenitor SNRs or, potentially, from PWNe. We notably found SiO(1-0,v=0) emission towards HESS J1809-193, highlighting possible interaction between the adjacent supernova remnant SNR G011.0-0.0 and the molecular cloud at d $\sim$ 3.7 kpc. Using morphological features, and comparative studies of our column densities with those obtained from X-ray measurements, we claim a distance d $\sim$ 8.6 - 9.7 kpc for SNR G292.2-00.5, d $\sim$ 3.5 - 5.6 kpc for PSR J1418-6058 and d $\sim$ 1.5 kpc for the new SNR candidate found towards HESS J1303-631. From our mass and density estimates of selected molecular clouds, we discuss signatures of hadronic/leptonic components from PWNe and their progenitor SNRs. Interestingly, the molecular gas, which overlaps HESS J1026-582 at d $\sim$ 5 kpc, may support a hadronic origin. We find however that this scenario requires an undetected cosmic-ray accelerator to be located at d $\lt$ 10 pc from the molecular cloud. For HESS J1809-193, the cosmic-rays which have escaped SNR G011.0-0.0 could contribute to the TeV gamma-ray emission. Finally, from the hypothesis that at most 20% the pulsar spin down power could be converted into CRs, we find that, among the studied PWNe, only those from PSR J1809-1917 could potentially contribute to the TeV emission., Comment: 42 pages, 21 figures, 15 tables. Most recent numerical simulations suggest that bipolar HII regions, powered by O-type stars, can be formed at the interface of two colliding clouds. To observationally understand the birth of O-type stars, we present a detailed multi-wavelength analysis of an area of 1 deg x 1 deg hosting G8.14+0.23 HII region associated with an infrared bipolar nebula (BPN). Based on the radio continuum map, the HII region is excited by at least an O-type star, which is located toward the waist of the BPN. The NANTEN2 13CO line data reveal the existence of two extended clouds at [9, 14.3] and [15.3, 23.3] km/s toward the site G8.14+0.23, which are connected in the position-velocity space through a broad-bridge feature at the intermediate velocity range. A "cavity/intensity-depression" feature is evident in the blueshifted cloud, and is spatially matched by the "elongated redshifted cloud". The spatial and velocity connections of the clouds suggest their interaction in the site G8.14+0.23. The analysis of deep near-infrared photometric data reveals the presence of clusters of infrared-excess sources, illustrating ongoing star formation activities in both the clouds. The O-type star is part of the embedded cluster seen in the waist of the BPN, which is observed toward the spatial matching zone of the cavity and the redshifted cloud. The observational results appear to be in reasonable agreement with the numerical simulations of cloud-cloud collision (CCC), suggesting that the CCC process seems to be responsible for the birth of the O-type star in G8.14+0.23., Comment: 16 pages, 9 figures, Accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journal

RX J0046.5$-$7308 is a shell-type supernova remnant (SNR) in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC). We carried out new $^{12}$CO($J$ = 1-0, 3-2) observations toward the SNR using Mopra and the Atacama Submillimeter Telescope Experiment. We found eight molecular clouds (A-H) along the X-ray shell of the SNR. The typical cloud size and mass are $\sim$10-15 pc and $\sim$1000-3000 $M_{\odot}$, respectively. The X-ray shell is slightly deformed and has the brightest peak in the southwestern shell where two molecular clouds A and B are located. The four molecular clouds A, B, F, and G have high intensity ratios of $^{12}$CO($J$ = 3-2) / $^{12}$CO($J$ = 1-0) $> 1.2$, which are not attributable to any identified internal infrared sources or high-mass stars. The HI cavity and its expanding motion are found toward the SNR, which are likely created by strong stellar winds from a massive progenitor. We suggest that the molecular clouds A-D, F, and G and HI clouds within the wind-blown cavity at $V_\mathrm{LSR} = 117.1$-122.5 km s$^{-1}$ are to be associated with the SNR. The X-ray spectroscopy reveals the dynamical age of $26000^{+1000}_{-2000}$ yr and the progenitor mass of $\gtrsim 30$ $M_{\odot}$, which is also consistent with the proposed scenario. We determine physical conditions of the giant molecular cloud LIRS 36A using the large velocity gradient analysis with archival datasets of the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array; the kinematic temperature is $72^{+50}_{-37}$ K and the number density of molecular hydrogen is $1500^{+600}_{-300}$ cm$^{-3}$. The Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) is the major next-generation observatory for ground-based very-high-energy gamma-ray astronomy. It will improve the sensitivity of current ground-based instruments by a factor of five to twenty, depending on the energy, greatly improving both their angular and energy resolutions over four decades in energy (from 20 GeV to 300 TeV). This achievement will be possible by using tens of imaging Cherenkov telescopes of three successive sizes. They will be arranged into two arrays, one per hemisphere, located on the La Palma island (Spain) and in Paranal (Chile). We report the discovery of a new Small Magellanic Cloud Pulsar Wind Nebula (PWN) at the edge of the Supernova Remnant (SNR)-DEM S5. The pulsar powered object has a cometary morphology similar to the Galactic PWN analogs PSR B1951+32 and 'the mouse'. It is travelling supersonically through the interstellar medium. We estimate the Pulsar kick velocity to be in the range of 700-2000 km/s for an age between 28-10 kyr. The radio spectral index for this SNR PWN pulsar system is flat (-0.29 $\pm$ 0.01) consistent with other similar objects. We infer that the putative pulsar has a radio spectral index of -1.8, which is typical for Galactic pulsars. We searched for dispersion measures (DMs) up to 1000 cm/pc^3 but found no convincing candidates with a S/N greater than 8. We produce a polarisation map for this PWN at 5500 MHz and find a mean fractional polarisation of P $\sim 23$ percent. The X-ray power-law spectrum (Gamma $\sim 2$) is indicative of non-thermal synchrotron emission as is expected from PWN-pulsar system. Finally, we detect DEM S5 in Infrared (IR) bands. Our IR photometric measurements strongly indicate the presence of shocked gas which is expected for SNRs. However, it is unusual to detect such IR emission in a SNR with a supersonic bow-shock PWN. We also find a low-velocity HI cloud of $\sim 107$ km/s which is possibly interacting with DEM S5. We carried out new $^{12}$CO($J$ = 1-0, 3-2) observations of a N63A supernova remnant (SNR) from the LMC using ALMA and ASTE. We find three giant molecular clouds toward the northeast, east, and near the center of the SNR. Using the ALMA data, we spatially resolved clumpy molecular clouds embedded within the optical nebulae in both the shock-ionized and photoionized lobes discovered by previous H$\alpha$ and [S II] observations. The total mass of the molecular clouds is $\sim$$800$ $M_{\odot}$ for the shock-ionized region and $\sim$$1700$ $M_{\odot}$ for the photoionized region. Spatially resolved X-ray spectroscopy reveals that the absorbing column densities toward the molecular clouds are $\sim$$1.5$-$6.0\times10^{21}$ cm$^{-2}$, which are $\sim$$1.5$-$15$ times less than the averaged interstellar proton column densities for each region. This means that the X-rays are produced not only behind the molecular clouds, but also in front of them. We conclude that the dense molecular clouds have been completely engulfed by the shock waves, but have still survived erosion owing to their high-density and short interacting time. The X-ray spectrum toward the gas clumps is well explained by an absorbed power-law or high-temperature plasma models in addition to the thermal plasma components, implying that the shock-cloud interaction is efficiently working for both the cases through the shock ionization and magnetic field amplification. If the hadronic gamma-ray is dominant in the GeV band, the total energy of cosmic-ray protons is calculated to be $\sim$$0.3$-$1.4\times10^{49}$ erg with the estimated ISM proton density of $\sim$$190\pm90$ cm$^{-3}$, containing both the shock-ionized gas and neutral atomic hydrogen., Comment: 18 pages, 4 tables, 8 figures, accepted for publication in The Astrophysical Journal (ApJ)

We conduct a multi-wavelength morphological study of the Galactic supernova remnant RXJ0852.0-4622 (also known as Vela Jr., Vela Z and G266.2-1.2). RX J0852.0-4622 is coincident with the edge of the larger Vela supernova remnant causing confusion in the attribution of some filamentary structures to either RX J0852.0-4622 or its larger sibling. We find that the RX J0852.0-4622 radio continuum emission can be characterised by a 2-dimensional shell with a radius of 0.90+/-0.01deg (or 11.8+/-0.6pc at an assumed distance of 750pc) centred at (l,b)=(133.08+/-0.01 deg,-46.34+/-0.01deg) (or RA=8h52m19.2s, Dec=-46deg20'24.0'', J2000), consistent with X-ray and gamma-ray emission. Although [OIII] emission features are generally associated with the Vela SNR, one particular [OIII] emission feature, which we denote as "the Vela Claw", morphologically matches a molecular clump that is thought to have been stripped by the stellar progenitor of the RX J0852.0-4622 SNR. We argue that the Vela Claw feature is possibly associated with RX J0852.0-4622. Towards the north-western edge of RX J0852.0-4622, we find a flattening of the radio spectral index towards another molecular clump also thought to be associated with RX J0852.0-4622. The Galactic supernova remnant HESS J1534-571 (also known as G323.7-1.0) has a shell-like morphology in TeV gamma-ray emission and is a key object in the study of cosmic ray origin. Little is known about its distance and local environment. We examine Mopra $^{12}$CO/$^{13}$CO(1-0) data, Australian Telescope Compact Array HI, and Parkes HI data towards HESS J1534-571. We trace molecular clouds in at least five velocity ranges, including clumpy interstellar medium structures near a dip in HI emission at a kinematic velocity consistent with the Scutum-Crux arm at ~3.5 kpc. This feature may be a cavity blown-out by the progenitor star, a scenario that suggests HESS J1534-571 resulted from a core-collapse event. By employing parametrisations fitted to a sample of supernova remnants of known distance, we find that the radio continuum brightness of HESS J1534-571 is consistent with the ~3.5 kpc kinematic distance of the Scutum-Crux arm HI dip. Modelling of the supernova evolution suggests an ~8-24 kyr age for HESS J1534-571 at this distance., Comment: 16 pages, 10 Figures, Accepted for publication in MNRAS

N49 (LHA 120-N49) is a bright X-ray supernova remnant (SNR) in the Large Magellanic Cloud. We present new $^{12}$CO($J$ = 1-0, 3-2), HI, and 1.4 GHz radio-continuum observations of the SNR N49 using Mopra, ASTE, ALMA, and ATCA. We have newly identified three HI clouds using ATCA with an angular resolution of ~20": one associated with the SNR and the others located in front of the SNR. Both the CO and HI clouds in the velocity range from 280-291 km s$^{-1}$ are spatially correlated with both the soft X-rays (0.2-1.2 keV) and the hard X-rays (2.0-7.0 keV) of N49 on a ~10 pc scale. CO 3-2/1-0 intensity ratios indicate higher values of the CO cloud toward the SNR shell with an angular resolution of ~45", and thus a strong interaction was suggested. Using the ALMA, we have spatially resolved CO clumps embedded within or along the southeastern rim of N49 with an angular resolution of ~3''. Three of the CO clumps are rim-brightened on a 0.7-2 pc scale in both hard X-rays and the radio continuum$:$ this provides further evidence for dynamical interactions between the CO clumps and the SNR shock wave. The enhancement of the radio synchrotron radiation can be understood in terms of magnetic-field amplification around the CO clumps via a shock-cloud interaction. N103B is a Type Ia supernova remnant (SNR) in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). We carried out new $^{12}$CO($J$ = 3-2) and $^{12}$CO($J$ = 1-0) observations using ASTE and ALMA. We have confirmed the existence of a giant molecular cloud (GMC) at $V_\mathrm{LSR}$ $\sim$245 km s$^{-1}$ towards the southeast of the SNR using ASTE $^{12}$CO($J$ = 3-2) data at an angular resolution of $\sim$25$"$ ($\sim$6 pc in the LMC). Using the ALMA $^{12}$CO($J$ = 1-0) data, we have spatially resolved CO clouds along the southeastern edge of the SNR with an angular resolution of $\sim$1.8$"$ ($\sim$0.4 pc in the LMC). The molecular clouds show an expanding gas motion in the position-velocity diagram with an expansion velocity of $\sim5$ km s$^{-1}$. The spatial extent of the expanding shell is roughly similar to that of the SNR. We also find tiny molecular clumps in the directions of optical nebula knots. We present a possible scenario that N103B exploded in the wind-bubble formed by the accretion winds from the progenitor system, and is now interacting with the dense gas wall. We present a detailed morphological study of TeV gamma rays, synchrotron radiation, and interstellar gas in the young Type Ia supernova remnant (SNR) RCW 86. We find that the interstellar atomic gas shows good spatial correlation with the gamma rays, indicating that the TeV gamma rays from RCW 86 are likely to be dominantly of hadronic origin. In contrast, the spatial correlation between the interstellar molecular cloud and the TeV gamma rays is poor in the southeastern shell of the SNR. We argue that this poor correlation can be attributed to the low-energy cosmic rays (~ 1 TeV) not penetrating into the dense molecular cloud due to an enhancement of the turbulent magnetic field around the dense cloud of ~ 10-100 $\mu$G. We also find that the southwestern shell, which is bright in both synchrotron X-ray and radio continuum radiation, shows a significant gamma-ray excess compared with the interstellar proton column density, suggesting that leptonic gamma rays via inverse Compton scattering possibly contributes along with hadronic gamma rays. The total cosmic-ray energies of the young TeV gamma-ray SNRs$-$RX J1713.7$-$3946, Vela Jr, HESS J1731$-$347, and RCW 86$-$are roughly similar, which indicates that cosmic rays can be accelerated in both the core-collapse and Type Ia supernovae. The total energy of cosmic rays derived using the gas density, ~ 10$^{48}$-10$^{49}$ erg, gives a safe lower limit due mainly to the low filling factor of interstellar gas within the shell., Comment: 16 pages, 3 tables, 8 figures, published in The Astrophysical Journal (ApJ)
