ASAP3 is involved in a variety of biological activities, including cancer progression in humans. In adult glioma, we explore the effects of ASAP3 and NOTCH3 and their relationships on prognosis. The Oncomine, TIMER, and Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis databases were used to investigate ASAP3 expression. Immunohistochemistry was used to assess the levels of ASAP3 and NOTCH3 expressions. The effects of ASAP3 and NOTCH3 on prognosis were assessed using survival analysis. The results revealed that the amount of ASAP3 mRNA in gliomas was much higher than in normal tissue (P < 0.01). Glioma patients with high ASAP3 mRNA expression had a worse overall survival and progression-free survival. ASAP3 overexpression is directly associated with the NOTCH signaling system. Immunohistochemistry revealed that ASAP3 and NOTCH3 were overexpressed in glioblastomas (GBMs). ASAP3 expression was associated with age, recurrence, tumor resection, postoperative chemoradiotherapy, World Health Organization (WHO) grade, and Ki-67 expression. ASAP3 expression was related to the isocitrate dehydrogenase-1 mutation in low-grade glioma. Gender, local recurrence, tumor resection, postoperative radio-chemotherapy, WHO grade, recurrence, and ATRX expression were all associated with NOTCH3 expression. ASAP3 was shown to be positively associated with NOTCH3 (r = 0.337, P = 0.000). Therefore, ASAP3 and NOTCH3 as oncogene factors have the potential to be prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets in adult glioma.

Increased expression of membrane type 1-matrix metalloproteinase (MT1-MMP/MMP14) is associated with the development of many cancers. MT1-MMP may promote the entry of yes-associated protein1 (YAP1) into the nucleus by regulating the regulation of β1-integrin. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of MT1-MMP, β1-integrin and YAP1 on the prognosis of gliomas. The expression of proteins was detected by bioinformatics and immunohistochemistry. The relationship between three proteins and clinicopathological parameters was analyzed by the χ 2 test. Survival analysis was used to investigate the effects of three proteins on prognosis. The results showed that high expressions of MT1-MMP, β1-integrin and YAP1 were found in glioblastoma (GBM) compared with lower-grade glioma (LGG). There was a significantly positive correlation between MT1-MMP and β1-integrin (r = 0.387), MT1-MMP and YAP1 (r = 0.443), β1-integrin and YAP1 (r = 0.348). Survival analysis showed that patients with overexpression of MT1-MMP, β1-integrin and YAP1 had a worse prognosis. YAP1 expression was the independent prognostic factor for progression-free survival (PFS). There was a statistical correlation between the expression of MT1-MMP and YAP1 and isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDHl) mutation. Thus, this study suggested that MT1-MMP, β1-integrin and YAP1, as tumor suppressors, are expected to be promising prognostic biomarkers and therapeutic targets for glioma patients.

Acrylic acid was grafted onto nylon 66 fabric by the electron beam irradiation method. Effects of different grafting conditions on grafting reaction were investigated. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), thermo gravimetric analyzer(TGA), scanning electron microscope(SEM) and YG065 type fabric strength tester were used to characterize the chemical structures, thermal properties, surface morphology and mechanical properties of these prepared nylon 66 fabric samples. And the anti-dripping performance was evaluated by the vertical burning. The results show that in FTIR spectrum new absorption peeks at 1720.2 cm-1 and other wave numbers are assigned to the carboxyl groups, which imply that acrylic acid is successfully grafted to the nylon 66 molecular. The anti-dripping performance of nylon 66 fabric is improved significantly after grafting. It can be attributed to the cross-linked char layer which subsequently provides a support for the melting fiber. However, the mechanical properties of grafted samples decrease to some extent. With the increase of grafting ratio, the onset temperatures of grafted samples decrease gradually, while the char-forming performance enhances significantly. Besides, the damage length and droplet velocity of grafted samples become shorter and lower, and the tensile strength at break increases slightly.

Background: Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is a significant cereal crop that plays a vital role in global food production. To expedite the breeding of wheat cultivars with high protein quality, it is necessary to genetically analyze the traits related to quality. A genome-wide association study (GWAS) was conducted to identify the genomic regions responsible for protein quality traits in winter wheat. Results: Six protein quality traits were evaluated across two locations and two years for a total of 341 wheat accessions. Utilizing the wheat 40 K SNP array, GWAS identified 97 significantly stable SNPs at 43 loci for five out of six protein quality traits using a linear mixed model. The 43 loci distribution was four for grain protein content, two for flour protein content, one for wet gluten content, four for gluten index, and thirty-two for Zeleny sedimentation value. The most significant associations were identified on chromosomes 1 A, 1B, and 1D. Haplotype analysis of loci associated with the gluten index in the 412–416 Mb interval on chromosome 1D identified three blocks. Accessions with superior haplotypes showed a significantly higher gluten index than those with inferior haplotypes. Six KASP markers were successfully developed for the gluten index, while five KASP markers were developed for the Zeleny sedimentation value. Additionally, eight candidate genes were identified that may affect protein accumulation during grain development. Conclusions: Our study identified 97 SNPs significantly associated with protein quality traits; developed 6 KASP markers for gluten index, and 5 KASP markers for Zeleny sedimentation values; screened 8 candidate genes that may be related to protein quality during grain development. Background: Peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCL) are an aggressive group of mature T-cell neoplasms, often associated with poor outcomes, in part, due to frequent relapsed/refractory disease. The objective of this study was to assess the prognostic impact of disease progression within 24 months (POD24) on overall survival (OS) for patients diagnosed with PTCL. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on a cohort of patients with newly diagnosed PTCL who underwent chemotherapy at the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University between January 2010 and September 2021. Prognostic assessment was limited to patients who were evaluable for POD24. Results: Records were reviewed for 106 patients with PTCL, of whom 66 patients experienced POD24 (referred to as the POD24 group) and 40 patients did not experience POD24 (referred to as the no POD24 group). Significant differences were observed between the POD24 group and the no POD24 group in regard to clinical stage, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status (PS), International Prognostic Index (IPI) score, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels, β2-microglobulin (β2-MG) levels, prealbumin and albumin levels. Patients in the POD24 group had a significant shorter median OS compared to the no POD24 group (11.9 months vs not reached, respectively; P < 0.001). Non response (NR) to treatment and POD24 were identified as independent negative prognostic factors for survival in patients with PTCL. Conclusion: POD24 is a prognostic factor associated with unfavorable outcomes in patients with PTCL and can be used to identify high-risk patients and guide treatment decisions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
