The sol-gel method was used to synthesize pure ZnO and MoO4@ZnO nanostructures for dual functionality in supercapacitors and photocatalysis. The material properties were examined using photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDX). A PL study showed the presence of an intense peak centering approximately around 405 nm, which is primarily due to the near-band edge emission of ZnO excitonic recombination. XRD confirmed the formation of the ZnMoO4 crystal system. The SEM showed uniformed nano-flakes which was validated by EDX analysis having typical peaks of Zn, O, and Mo. The synthesized materials were evaluated for bi-functional application, including energy storage and photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) under solar irradiation. The 5% MoO4@ZnO nanomaterials showed uniform nanoflakes morphology with remarkable photocatalytic as well as electrochemical excellence. Notably, the 5% MoO4@ZnO nanomaterial degraded MB about 90.02% within 200 min. Galvanostatic charge discharge (GCD) exhibited an outstanding specific capacitance of 1026 F/g at 1 A/g for 5% MoO4@ZnO. The columbic efficiency of the 5% MoO4@ZnO electrode material was assessed until 2000 cycles, that retains its stability about 87%. The cyclic voltammetry was also assessed for the calculation of specific capacitance and energy density. The 5% MoO4@ZnO depicted excellent capacitance and energy density about 915.62 F/g and 53.72 Wh/kg respectively. This study showed that 5% MoO4@ZnO is a suitable candidate with the exceptional dual function that can be employed for the development of next-generation energy storage and photocatalysis. The aim of the study is to design and synthesize thiazolidinone derivatives having therapeutic potential using PABA as a core component. The characterization of thiazolidinones MS1–MS6 was carried out using different spectroscopic techniques before being subjected to DFT studies to calculate various parameters such as HOMO/LUMO energy gaps and global chemical properties. Thiazolidinones MS1–MS6 were screened to evaluate their in vitro enzyme inhibition potential. In addition to experimental work, theoretical approaches were used as supporting components to design the enzyme inhibitors. In-silico ADMET and docking studies were performed to check the therapeutic properties of thiazolidinone derivatives. The enzyme inhibition potential predicted that MS1–MS6 have potential to inhibit AChE and BChE. The highest activity was depicted by MS4 with a percentage inhibition of 81.7 ± 1.1% against AChE. The molecular dynamic simulation was run for MS4 showing a similar activity on enzyme compared to the standard inhibitor. Both experimental and theoretical assessments suggested the therapeutic importance of the thiazolidinone derivatives MS1–MS6. In-depth studies are ongoing to complete therapeutic probing in terms of toxicity and chemical uses. PABA based Thiazolidinones MS1-MS6 was synthesized according to reported methods. In this research study, the triplumbic tetroxide (Pb3O4)/tricobalt tetroxide (Co3O4) nanocomposites (NCs) were synthesized by using the modified process of inverse microemulsion for electrochemical applications. The cyclic voltammetry results indicated that the NCs exhibited excellent results in terms of the capacitance (with the highest specific capacitance and energy density values of 892.01 F g−1 and 60.70 W h g−1 respectively) for electrochemical applications. Moreover, after 4000 cycles, more than 89% capacitance was sustained for Pb3O4/Co3O4 composite representing their excellent stability. The enhanced supercapacitive properties of these NCs were ascribed to the development of the nanomaterials having a high surface area to volume ratio, enhanced conductivities, and good specific capacitance values acquired by modulating the Co3O4 content in the NCs. The pure cerium and bismuth-doped cerium oxide engineered nanomaterials proposed a significant direction to improved capacitive performance and catalytic efficacy, minimizing basic hurdles in energy storage systems. Various characterization techniques were employed for the determination of morphogical and spectral properties. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) confirmed the uniformed size distribution of materials, Energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) confirmed the elemental composition and corresponded only Bi, O and Ce peak. XRD and FTIR were also performed for the determination of crystal structure and functional group bonding respectively. The Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analysis encapsulated that the Bi2O3@Ce2O3 exhibited higher specific surface area of about 91.4 m2/g and larger pore size distribution than pure nanomaterial. The prepared nanomaterials were investigated for dual excellence. The doped Bi2O3@Ce2O3 nanomaterial exhibited remarkable photocatalytic activity of methylene blue dye about 89% at 200 min. Conversely, the materials were also tested for electrochemical performance. Moreover, bismuth-doped cerium oxide also encapsulated excellent capacitance performance about 915 F/g. The global problem of ecological safety and public health necessitates, the development of new sustainable ideas for pollution remediation. In recent development, metal-organic frameworks (MOF) are the emerging technology with remarkable potential, which have been employed in environmental remediation. MOFs are networks that are created by the coordination of metals or polyanions with ligands and contain organic components that can be customized. The interesting features of MOFs are a large surface area, tuneable porosity, functional diversity, and high predictability of pollutant adsorption, catalysis, and degradation. It is a solid material that occupies a unique position in the war against environmental pollutants. One of the main benefits of MOFs is that they exhibit selective adsorption of a wide range of pollutants, including heavy metals, organics, greenhouse gases, water and soil. Only particles with the right combination of pore size and chemical composition will achieve this selectivity, derived from the high level of specificity. Besides, they possess high catalytic ability for the removal of pollutants by means of different methods such as photocatalysis, Fenton-like reactions, and oxidative degradation. By generating mobile active sites within the framework of MOFs, we can not only ensure high affinity for pollutants but also effective transformation of toxic chemicals into less harmful or even inert end products. However, the long-term stability of MOFs is becoming more important as eco-friendly parts are replaced with those that can be used repeatedly, and systems based on MOFs that can remove pollutants in more than one way are fabricated. MOFs can reduce waste production, energy consumption as compared to the other removal process. With its endless capacities, MOF technology brings a solution to the environmental cleansing problem, working as a flexible problem solver from one field to another.
