Hearing problems in deaf children make it difficult for them to absorb verbal information while learning, but their learning modalities can be optimized. In the dance learning process at SLB Tunas Kasih 1 Bogor, the teacher stimulates deaf children to create their own dance moves through metaphorical activities based on the surrounding environment by optimizing visual and tactile learning modalities. The purpose of this article is to describe learning dance through metaphorical activities for deaf children at SLB Tunas Kasih 1 Bogor. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis method. The data sources for this research were teachers and deaf children at SLB Tunas Kasih 1. Data collection used observation, interviews and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out by means of triangulation. The results of this study indicate that through metaphorical activities, children can maximize their visual and tactile abilities in obtaining information in dance lessons so that learning can match the abilities of deaf children. Metaphoric activities also foster imaginative ideas, making it easier for them to explore dance movements resulting from their ideas. Through this metaphoric activity the teacher can easily foster the creativity of deaf children in creating dance movements, so that deaf children can optimize their creative abilities for dance moves.

vasa previa ,cordón umbilical ,Medicine (General) ,R5-920 ,Public aspects of medicine ,RA1-1270 - Abstract

Background and Aims: COVID-19 has infected more than 77 million people worldwide and impacted the lives of many more, with a particularly devastating impact on vulnerable populations, including people with substance use disorders (SUDs). Quarantines, travel bans, regulatory changes, social distancing, and “lockdown” measures have affected drug and alcohol supply chains and subsequently their availability, price, and use patterns, with possible downstream effects on presentations of SUDs and demand for treatment. Given the lack of multicentric epidemiologic studies, we conducted a rapid global survey within the International Society of Addiction Medicine (ISAM) network in order to understand the status of substance-use patterns during the current pandemic.Design: Cross-sectional survey.Setting: Worldwide.Participants: Starting on April 4, 2020 during a 5-week period, the survey received 185 responses from 77 countries.Measurements: To assess addiction medicine professionals' perceived changes in drug and alcohol supply, price, use pattern, and related complications during the COVID-19 pandemic.Findings: Participants reported (among who answered “decreased” or “increased”) a decrease in drug supply (69.0%) and at the same time an increase in price (95.3%) globally. With respect to changes in use patterns, an increase in alcohol (71.7%), cannabis (63.0%), prescription opioids (70.9%), and sedative/hypnotics (84.6%) use was reported, while the use of amphetamines (59.7%), cocaine (67.5%), and opiates (58.2%) was reported to decrease overall. Conclusions: The global report on changes in the availability, use patterns, and complications of alcohol and drugs during the COVID-19 pandemic should be considered in making new policies and in developing mitigating measures and guidelines during the current pandemic (and probable future ones) in order to minimize risks to people with SUD.

Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has impacted people with substance use disorders (SUDs) worldwide, and healthcare systems have reorganized their services in response to the pandemic. Methods: One week after the announcement of the COVID-19 as a pandemic, in a global survey, 177 addiction medicine professionals described COVID-19-related health responses in their own 77 countries in terms of SUD treatment and harm reduction services. The health responses were categorized around (1) managerial measures and systems, (2) logistics, (3) service providers, and (4) vulnerable groups. Results: Respondents from over 88% of countries reported that core medical and psychiatric care for SUDs had continued; however, only 56% of countries reported having had any business continuity plan, and 37.5% of countries reported shortages of methadone or buprenorphine supplies. Participants of 41% of countries reported partial discontinuation of harm-reduction services such as needle and syringe programs and condom distribution. Fifty-seven percent of overdose prevention interventions and 81% of outreach services were also negatively impacted. Conclusions: Participants reported that SUD treatment and harm-reduction services had been significantly impacted globally early during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on our findings, we highlight several issues and complications resulting from the pandemic concerning people with SUDs that should be tackled more efficiently during the future waves or similar pandemics. The issues and potential strategies comprise the following: (1) helping policymakers to generate business continuity plans, (2) maintaining the use of evidence-based interventions for people with SUDs, (3) being prepared for adequate medication supplies, (4) integrating harm reduction programs with other treatment modalities, and (5) having specific considerations for vulnerable groups such as immigrants and refugees.

Since 2016, Public Park in Indonesia, particularly in West Java has significantly been revitalized. Taman Sempur is one of public parks located in West Java that spent about Rp 2.2 billion for its revitalization process. That massive amount was poured out in order to develop public space for the community. Taman Sempur is a compound where Taman Kaulinan, Taman Skateboard, Taman Ekspresi, big pedestrian and few sports facilities with its own specific functions stand. This research, that applied the combination of geo-semiotic and ethnographic analysis, attempted to observe how meaningful Taman Sempur as urban public space for the community through public space and public sphere approaches. The existing modality indicates that the community have certain attention to participate in Taman Sempur as public space, with some of its flaws in material dimension aspect. At the same time, public sphere nuances still vaguely felt, considering the community’s awareness were not full and even due to habitus individual conflict while becoming part of the “public”. Decision support systems, commonly called DSS (or SPK in Bahasa), in medical used to diagnose illness. But within its implementation these systems are not used optimally. The main cause is the interface of the systems that is not accordance with the user wants. Three interface designs layouts were proposed for the phase of history and physical examination and two interface designs layouts for investigations to be assessed by the respondents. Based on the results of the questionnaires selected by respondents, statistical tests were performed to determine the value of the use of interface design based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and modified TAM. The statistical methods used to examine the effect of variables on TAM and modified TAM i.e. the Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM PLS) method. The results of this study indicate that the respondents’ choice in the TAM and modified TAM model for the history and physical examination is the same as the based filling system. While for the supporting stage there are differences of respondent choice on TAM model with choice of graphical interaction system and on modified TAM model with windowing system option.

The search for alternative therapies to insulin for the treatment of gestational diabetes goes back to studies from the decade of 1970 and 1980. The oral hypoglycemic agents have emerged as an effective alternative for metabolic control of gestational diabetes; these drugs have historically been rejected by the medical community on the basis of studies with serious methodological flaws. Metformin is a useful and safe alternative for its control, to reduce costs and improve the margin of safety that involves the use of insulin. There is sufficient information that supports that glyburide is safe during pregnancy. Many of the fears for the use of oral hypoglycemic agents have been clarified today. Up to now it has not been reported in pregnant the use of other oral hypoglycemic agents and, therefore, they must not be used.

Nitrogen permease regulator-like 2 (NPRL2) is a component of a conserved complex that inhibits mTORC1 (mammalian Target Of Rapamycin Complex 1) in response to amino acid insufficiency. Here, we show that NPRL2 is required for mouse viability and that its absence significantly compromises fetal liver hematopoiesis in developing embryos. Moreover, NPRL2 KO embryos have significantly reduced methionine levels and exhibit phenotypes reminiscent of cobalamin (vitamin B12) deficiency. Consistent with this idea, NPRL2 KO liver and mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs) show defective processing of the cobalamin-transport protein transcobalamin 2, along with impaired lysosomal acidification and lysosomal gene expression. NPRL2 KO MEFs exhibit a significant defect in the cobalamin-dependent synthesis of methionine from homocysteine, which can be rescued by supplementation with cyanocobalamin. Taken together, these findings demonstrate a role for NPRL2 and mTORC1 in the regulation of lysosomal-dependent cobalamin processing, methionine synthesis, and maintenance of cellular re-methylation potential, which are important during hematopoiesis.

Self-care is a form used to maintain health, a special separate what constitutes self-medication, it is an irresponsible act, especially when it is performed during pregnancy, especially if it occurs in the early stages, when the possibility of damage is greater. Self-medication is a problem that is prevalent worldwide and pregnant women are a subpopulation of interest to pharmacovigilance because medicines administered to the mother can cause adverse reactions in her and in the newborn. To prevent the negative effects of self-medication should educate patients and the population in general, and to offer information and counseling on the appropriate use of medications; the tool to achieve this is prevention, therefore self-medication in pregnancy is a double act of irresponsibility.

Introduction: knowledge of perinatal mortality is a fact of great importance as it provides an idea of the level of development and quality of health in the nations. Objective: To determine the causes associated with perinatal mortality at the Mariana Grajales Gyneco-obstetric Hospital in three years of study. Material and methods: A cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted. A non-probability convenience sample of 228 patients treated at the Department of Obstetrics was taken. The variables of the study were: causes of perinatal mortality, maternal age and birth weight. Results: The main causes were idiopathic causes (62, accounting for 27.2%), preeclampsia (16, for 7%) and retroplacental hematoma (23, for 10%). There was a significant relationship between the group 35 years and over and the causes perinatal mortality (X2=17.53, p=0.021), and between the causes of perinatal mortality and weights less than 999 grams (X2=14.32, p=0.012). The root cause in this group is premature rupture of the membrane (16, for 19%), and in the group from 1000 to 2,499 grams it was the idiopathic cause (21, 24.1%). Mortality of the mature (28, 49.1%) was not elucidated. It was found that the greatest number of causes were idiopathic, in all age groups and weights, and that the group 35 years and over and weights under 999 grams are significantly associated with perinatal mortality.
