This study evaluates water security in the cities of Kermanshah Province, Iran, through the application of the water poverty index (WPI), incorporating five key components: resources, capacity, access, use, and environment. Data were sourced from official records and analyzed to generate WPI scores for each city. The results indicate that Kermanshah Province experiences medium to high levels of water poverty, with significant inter-city disparities. The WPI values ranged from 30.44 in Salas-e Babajani to 66.25 in Kermanshah, with an average provincial score of 43.84. Sahneh ranked highest in the 'Resources' component, due to its abundant groundwater and surface water, while Gilangharb and Salas-e Babajani reported the lowest scores, primarily due to unauthorized well extractions. In terms of access, Qasr-e Shirin achieved 99.92% coverage in safe water supply, whereas other cities, such as Javanrud and Salas-e Babajani, fell below 50%. Environmental conditions were generally favorable across the province, with the exception of Sarpol-e Zahab, where water quality was degraded by high pesticide and fertilizer use. These findings underscore the urgent need for tailored water management interventions to address the regional disparities in water security. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Water-based incidents are natural phenomena that have posed Iran to serious crises. Despite efforts to settle water crises and improve the conditions, we still witness a growing trend of water issues, especially in the agricultural sector in Iran. A necessary step to face water-based incidents and alleviate their implications is to have a deep understanding of resilience dimensions to enhance the tolerance level of the farmers. The present study evaluated farmers' resilience level in the face of water-based crises in Harsin County. The research, which adopted a descriptive survey methodology, was conducted in 2020. The statistical population was composed of the heads of rural households in four rural districts of the county, amounting to about 6000 people. The sample size was determined to be 361 farmers based on Morgan's table. The measurement instrument was a questionnaire whose validity was confirmed by a panel of experts and professionals and its reliability was confirmed for all sections as their Cronbach's alpha was estimated at >0.8. SPSS was used for data analysis and Expert Choice was used for pairwise comparisons. Based on the results of the pairwise comparisons, infrastructural resilience to drought has the highest level of importance in the concept of resilience. According to the results of the study, the resilience level was evaluated to be relatively low in all studied rural districts, and the difference in the level of resilience among the studied villages is significant. Also, farmers with irrigated farming have a higher level of resilience than farmers with rainfed farming. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Despite the effective role of entrepreneurial ventures in development, entrepreneurship failure around the world (20% survival rate among businesses with over three years of establishment) in one hand and an overwhelming reduction new ventures have created a challenge among potential entrepreneurs. Moreover, entrepreneurship barriers have always created a challenge for entrepreneurs. In other words, potential entrepreneurs with weak coping capacity have experienced failure during the start-up phase. Therefore, this study sought to investigate the influence of perceived barriers of entrepreneurship orientation on student's attitude and intentions in starting a new business. The population of the study consisted of agricultural students in Islamic Azad University in Ilam Province (N =320). Using simple random sampling, 169 students were selected through Bartlet table of sample size. A structured questionnaire was used as a research instrument to collect data. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to test validity of research instrument and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to test reliability of the questionnaire yielding 0.95 indicating a valid instrument. Results revealed that students hold medium intention to start a new venture. Moreover, perceived barriers had direct and negative influence on students' attitude, self-efficacy, and intention towards entrepreneurial behavior. Interestingly, perceived risk was considered as a main barrier in students' entrepreneurial orientation. Lack of capital and financial support, entrepreneurial skill and training were among other perceived barriers. The findings of this study have implications for agricultural higher education. For example, risk management, optimism, entrepreneurial internship, role models, and demonstration projects may be used to overcome perceived entrepreneurial barriers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
