Introduction: Unmet oral health needs remain a significant issue among immigrant adolescents, often exacerbated by experiences of racial discrimination. This study aimed to examine the associations between perceived discrimination and oral health behaviours in adolescents with immigrant backgrounds and explore the potential moderating role of resilience on this association. Methods: Ethical approval for this cross-sectional study was obtained from the University of Alberta Research Ethics Board. Participants were 12 to 18-year-old adolescents from immigrant backgrounds. Participants were recruited through nine community organizations using a snowball sampling technique. After obtaining active parental consent and assent from the adolescent, the participants completed a questionnaire covering demographics, oral health behaviours, and perceived racial discrimination and resilience. Perceived racial discrimination and resilience were measured using validated scales. Descriptive statistics summarized variables. Logistic regression assessed associations, controlling for confounding factors. Resilience's moderating impact was analyzed via the interaction model of regression analysis. Results: In this cross-sectional study of 316 participants, average age of 15.3 (SD = 1.9) years, and a median age of 15 years (Inter Quartile Range-12-18), 76% reported discrimination experiences. Adjusted analysis showed that an increase of one unit in the total discrimination distress score was associated with 51% less likelihood of categorizing self-rated oral health as good (OR = 0.49, 95% CI: 0.29–0.81). The odds of brushing teeth more than twice a day, as opposed to once a day, decreased by 58% with one unit increase in the total discrimination distress score (OR = 0.42, 95% CI: 0.25–0.71). The odds of visiting the dentist for an urgent procedure instead of a regular check-up were 2.3 times higher with a unit increase in the total discrimination distress score (OR = 2.3: 95% CI:1.3–4.0) Resilience did not moderate the observed association. Conclusion: Perceived racial discrimination was associated with the pattern for dental attendance, tooth brushing frequency, and self-rated oral health. Background: Mucormycosis is a rare, rapidly progressing opportunistic fungal infection which came into a sudden limelight during the second wave of COVID-19 in India. Aims and Objective: The present study was conducted to evaluate the knowledge, attitude, and practice assessment of oral mucormycosis among dentists in tri-city (Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Mohali) after COVID-19. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional, web-based survey was carried out among 150 dentists with a response rate of 87.3%. The survey consisted of 15 questions pertaining to knowledge and attitude, whereas a third section of questions regarding practices based on their encounter of attending mucormycosis patients. To ensure maximum participation, snowball and convenience sampling were utilized, and the results were analyzed by descriptive statistics. Results: Dentists demonstrated a decent knowledge about oral mucormycosis, but there was still a lack of awareness pertaining to reasons for developing mucormycosis after COVID and its correlation with COVID-19’s variant. The study participants revealed coherent opinions about most questions except the diagnostic methods. A very few dentists attended to mucormycosis patients in their clinical practice. Conclusion: Overall, the current work reported the knowledge and clinical experience of the dentists regarding COVID-19-associated mucormycosis and emphasizes on improving the knowledge and awareness of dentists in this area for better management of such cases with diligent diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Background: The current recommendations for the apical preparation diameter, one of the most important mechanical imperatives in the apical third preparation, are to preserve the apical foramen in its original position along with its narrowest diameter to avoid any complication such as tearing, zipping, or transport of the foramen. The aim of our study was to see the correlation between apical seal and apical preparation diameter. Materials and Methods: In total, 90 extracted maxillary incisors were randomly allocated into three groups of 30 teeth each according to the apical preparation size: Group 1: finishing file F1 corresponding to size 20 reached the working length, Group 2: prepared up to size 30 corresponding to finishing file F3, and Group 3: prepared up to size 50 corresponding to finishing file F5. After the filling of the root canals, the teeth were isolated and immersed in a dye solution, then cut longitudinally, photographed, and the dye penetration were calculated using a computer software. Results: Comparison of the three different apical preparation sizes showed no statistically significant differences regarding the apical microleakage. The present case describes the successful management of a rare case of communicating internal-external resorption in which both internal and external resorption seem to develop independent of each other. Aim: The aim of the present study was to compare the shear bond strength and marginal sealing ability of self-adhering flow-able composite and conventional fissure sealant., Materials and Methods: The samples consisted of 30 healthy premolar teeth which were extracted due to orthodontic reasons and randomly divided into two groups of 15, i.e., group I (Fissurit F) and group II (Dyad Flow). Shear bond strength and marginal sealing ability of both the groups were evaluated in Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 16., Results: The mean shear bond strength of Dyad Flow (group II) was found to be 1.4 ± 0.87 MPa and in Fissurit F (group I), it was 1.3 ± 1.4 MPa. Differences between the groups were statistically significant. In group II, 53.3% of specimens demonstrated score 0; 33.3% showed score 1; and 13.3% showed score 2. In group I, scores 0 and 1 showed 33.3% of dye penetration respectively. Scores 2 and 3 demonstrated 26.6 and 6.6% of dye penetration respectively. But there was no significant difference between both the sealant groups., Conclusion: The present study concluded that self-adhering flowable composite was found to have better shear bond strength and marginal sealing ability than conventional fissure sealant., Clinical Significance: Self-adhering flowable composite can be effectively used in pediatric patients in whom isolation is difficult and exclusion of bonding agent leads to decrease in time consumption.
