Abstract

In this paper, we develop a new classical simulation of quantum bit (qubit) by use of analog components in order to be able to simulate the quantum properties such as the superposition of states. As part of this new approach, we have also implemented many logical gates (Pauli-X, Hadamard, and Conditional phase-shift gates). 4. Inhomogeneities and the modeling of radio supernovae

Abstract

Observations of radio supernovae often exhibit characteristics not readily accounted for by a homogeneous, spherically symmetric synchrotron model; e.g., flat-topped spectra/lightcurves. It is shown that many of these deviations from the standard model can be attributed to an inhomogeneous source structure. It is argued that the radio emission in Type Ib/c supernovae has a small volume filling factor and comes from a narrow region associated with the forward shock, while the radio emission region in SN 1993J (Type IIb) is determined by the extent of the Rayleigh-Taylor instability emanating from the contact discontinuity. Abstract

A family $H_\mu(p),$ $\mu>0,$ $p\in\T^3$ of the Generalized Firedrichs models with the perturbation of rank one, associated to a system of two particles, moving on the three dimensional lattice $\mathbb{\Z}^3,$ is considered. The existence or absence of the unique eigenvalue of the operator $H_\mu(p)$ lying outside the essential spectrum, depending on the values of $\mu>0$ and $p\in U_{\delta}(p_{\,0})\subset\T^3$ is proven. Electron microscopic imaging of the rat livers was carried out, and hepatic total glutathione (GSH), glutathione reductase (GR), glutathione peroxidase (GPX), glutathione S-transferase (GST), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and catalase (CAT) enzymatic activities were quantified.Results: Results showed a significant MCT-induced decrease in total hepatic GSH, GPX, GR, and GST normalized to control values with concurrent CeO2 administration. In addition, MCT produced significant increases in hepatic CAT and SOD activities, which also ameliorated with CeO2.Conclusions: These results indicate that CeO2 acts as a putative novel and effective hepatoprotective agent against MCT-induced hepatotoxicity.Keywords: monocrotaline, ceruim oxide nanoparticle, hepatotoxicity, oxidative stress

Abstract

Post-renal transplant de-novo inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) may develop despite the presence of mycophenolate mofetil (MMF), a drug used for treatment of IBD, in the immunosuppressive regimen. A 39-year-old man received live unrelated renal transplant, and was started postoperatively on prednisolone, MMF, and tacrolimus, which was changed to sirolimus when he developed diabetes mellitus two months post-transplant. Nine months post-transplant, the patient developed recurrent attacks of bloody diarrhea and ischio-rectal abscesses complicated by anal fistulae not responding to routine surgical treatment. Colonoscopy diagnosed IBD, a Crohn′s disease-like pattern. The patient was treated with steroids and 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) in addition to a two months course of ciprofloxacin and metronidazole. He became asymptomatic and rectal lesions healed within one month of treatment. The patient continued to be asymptomatic, and he maintained normal graft function on the same immunosuppressive treatment in addition to 5-ASA. We conclude that de-novo IBD disease can develop in renal transplant recipients in spite of immunosuppressive therapy including MMF.
