Now-a-days, buying and searching at huge malls is turning into a daily activity in subway cities. We can see large rush at malls on holidays and weekends. The rush is even a lot of once there are special offers and discount. People purchase one needs to go to cashier for payments. The cashier prepares the bill victimization bar code reader that could be a time overwhelming method and leads to long queues at charge counters. This paper targeted to minimize the queue at a billing counter in a shopping complex. Smart trolley does the same by displaying the total price of the product kept inside the cart. In this way the customer can directly pay the amount at the billing counter and leave with the commodities he/she has bought. The hardware is based on Arduino Uno, RFID Reader Module, RFID Card and Buzzer. It eliminates the traditional scanning of products at the counter and in turn speeds up the entire process of shopping also with this system the customer shall know the total amount to be paid and hence can accordingly plan his shopping only buying the essential commodities savings. Since the entire process of billing is automated it reduces the possibility of human error substantially. Also the system has a feature to delete the scanned products by customer to further optimize the shopping experience.

Here paper points at designing programmed water treatment plant that measures quality of water utilizing various parameters like temperature, pH, turbidity and TDS. In order of achieving this several sensors that measure distinctive parameters like pH value, turbidity in water, level of the water within the tank, temperature and humidity of the surrounding atmosphere are interfaced with Arduino microcontroller unit. The received data from the Arduino will be sent to the cloud with the help of IOT Things speak app to monitor the quality of water. The machine learning algorithm is applied to the obtained sensor information to extend the precession.

Specific issues arise, such as sharing health Records across institutes or hospitals, problems with misuse of data once shared, no security, etc. The Electronic Health Record (EHR) Framework on Blockchain addresses those issues, resulting from a collaboration of all stakeholders involved. This paper explores the likelihood of representing medical records to make sure data privacy, data accessibility, and data interoperability for the healthcare-specific scenario. Data privacy refers to affording protection to ensure data is available when needed and not used, imparted, accessed, altered, or deleted while being stored or retrieved, or transmitted. Data accessibility is the ability to access the data regardless of natural or artificial accidents, hardware, or others. Improving the accessibility of health data in the healthcare sector while ensuring privacy has been identified as a necessary capability that involves every individual and organization. Traditionally, healthcare interoperability has centered on sharing data between business institutions, such as various hospital systems. The emphasis has lately been on patient-driven information sharing, where the exchange of medical information is patient-mediated and patient-driven. We propose implementing a large-scale information infrastructure to access Smart Contracts sponsored by EHRs as information mediators. The decentralized nature of blockchain technology will aid in making the EHR accessible over a broader network. Using Blockchain will help make far-reaching changes in the healthcare industry by providing immutable, authentic, and accessible medical records, privacy, and faster payments.

This paper deals with an investigation on the influence of hybrid fibres on the strength and durability of binary blend geopolymer concrete. Geopolymer concrete was prepared using Fly ash and GGBS as source material and mix design was carried out as per the guidelines of Professor Rangan of Curtin University, Australia. Different fly ash-GGBS proportions namely 50-50%, 60-40%, 70-30%, 80-20% and 90-10% were considered. The tests on Geopolymer concrete reveal that the compressive strength increases as the percentage of GGBS increases up to 30%. Hence the combination of 70% fly ash and 30% GGBS was considered as a base material. In order to improve the engineering properties of the Geopolymer concrete, hybrid fibres which consist of metallic and non-metallic fibres were introduced in the base material. Metallic fibres considered was crimped steel fibres with different percentages of volume fraction viz. 0.5% and 1.0% and non-metallic fibres considered was basalt fibres with different percentages of volume fraction viz. 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.3%. Strength parameters such as compressive strength, split tensile strength, modulus of rupture and modulus of elasticity were obtained for various combinations of steel and basalt fibres. Similarly durability parameters which include permeability, water absorption, marine attack and sulphuric acid attack were also evaluated. The combination of fibres having 0.5% steel and 0.3% basalt gave better results with regard to both strength and durability of binary blend Geopolymer concrete.

Importance It is unclear how many patients treated with a direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) are using concomitant acetylsalicylic acid (ASA, or aspirin) and how this affects clinical outcomes. Objective To evaluate the frequency and outcomes of prescription of concomitant ASA and DOAC therapy for patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) or venous thromboembolic disease (VTE). Design, setting, and participants This registry-based cohort study took place at 4 anticoagulation clinics in Michigan from January 2015 to December 2019. Eligible participants were adults undergoing treatment with a DOAC for AF or VTE, without a recent myocardial infarction (MI) or history of heart valve replacement, with at least 3 months of follow-up. Exposures Use of ASA concomitant with DOAC therapy. Main outcomes and measures Rates of bleeding (any, nonmajor, major), rates of thrombosis (stroke, VTE, MI), emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and death. Results Of the study cohort of 3280 patients (1673 [51.0%] men; mean [SD] age 68.2 [13.3] years), 1107 (33.8%) patients without a clear indication for ASA were being treated with DOACs and ASA. Two propensity score-matched cohorts, each with 1047 patients, were analyzed (DOAC plus ASA and DOAC only). Patients were followed up for a mean (SD) of 20.9 (19.0) months. Patients taking DOAC and ASA experienced more bleeding events compared with DOAC monotherapy (26.0 bleeds vs 31.6 bleeds per 100 patient years, P = .01). Specifically, patients undergoing combination therapy had significantly higher rates of nonmajor bleeding (26.1 bleeds vs 21.7 bleeds per 100 patient years, P = .02) compared with DOAC monotherapy. Major bleeding rates were similar between the 2 cohorts. Thrombotic event rates were also similar between the cohorts (2.5 events vs 2.3 events per 100 patient years for patients treated with DOAC and ASA compared with DOAC monotherapy, P = .80). Patients were more often hospitalized while undergoing combination therapy (9.1 vs 6.5 admissions per 100 patient years, P = .02). Conclusion and relevance Nearly one-third of patients with AF and/or VTE who were treated with a DOAC received ASA without a clear indication. Compared with DOAC monotherapy, concurrent DOAC and ASA use was associated with increased bleeding and hospitalizations but similar observed thrombosis rate. Future research should identify and deprescribe ASA for patients when the risk exceeds the anticipated benefit.

Increasing concern has recently been expressed in the literature that the patients undergoing diagnostic Computer tomography imaging and X-ray examinations have inadequate knowledge and awareness about ra- diation. The frequent use of Computed tomography and routine X-ray examinations for unnecessary indications is the most vital cause of increase in medical radiation exposure. Dose reduction techniques and radiation protection measures is a topic of public concern in which government should play a very important role. Radiologists and patients undergoing any radiological procedure involving ionizing radiation are becoming highly sensitized to the issue of radiation exposure from these diagnostic procedures. The attitudes and perceptions of these patients undergoing diagnostic imaging procedures that use ionizing radiation vary widely. Patients percep- tion about radiation awareness strongly influence their consent or acceptance of any diagnostic imaging procedure. In this study we review the perceptions of radiation risk by laypersons i.e patients who have very little knowledge and awareness about the diagnostic procedure and X-ray examination for which they have been referred. Although the benefit vs risk ratio will outweigh the radiation risk involved in these X-ray and CT examinations but the patients awareness about radiation is a major concern in today's society. Need of the study : The purpose of this study is to understand the perception of radiation awareness among patients in the South Indian population. Very less Qualitative research work has been taken up in this field, as a result such study will gain impetus in the near future. Methods : The study was carried out in South India. Qualitative case study was conducted based on Non-Probability purposive sam- pling and in-depth interview was conducted at the Department of Radiodiagnosis and Imaging, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal among six patients who were referred for X-ray and CT examinations. Results : An in-depth interview among patients in South India revealed their poor perception about radiation awareness. Conclusion : This study has clearly demonstrated the poor awareness of radiation among patients in South India.
