(1) Background: Does the variation in sequential development times of embryos, observed through time-lapse monitoring, between the two study groups play a role in predicting pregnancy success? (2) Methods: The prospective double-arm study was to identify the morphokinetic parameters specific to embryos that were capable of implanting and were conducted on 89 embryos cultured in the Esco Miri time-lapse incubator, divided into two groups: Lot A, consisting of 57 embryos that successfully implanted and resulted in life birth rate (LBR), and Lot B (NLB), comprising 32 embryos that did not implant, leading to a negative beta-hCG outcome. (3) Results: Baseline characteristics, including female age, were not found to be statistically significant (p > 0.01). In contrast, there is a highly statistically significant difference concerning oocytes (p = 0.0029). Morphokinetic variables represented by sequential culture times were not statistically significant (p > 0.01) when comparing the two groups. However, the negative mean differences between these parameters suggest that the times for Lot A are better (shorter) than those for Lot B. While not statistically significant, these differences may still have practical significance. In the case of grading, the difference is considered to be extremely statistically significant (p < 0.01). (4) Conclusions: Although there are no statistically significant differences in sequential timings (p > 0.01) between the two groups, there are parameters indicating predictive potential for exploring pregnancy in embryo morphokinetics. This narrative review provides a comprehensive analysis of skin lesions caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). Human papillomavirus is an infection involving a virus that is omnipresent and can range from benign wart lesions to malignant skin growths. This review includes an analysis of the skin manifestations caused by HPV, and the need for continued successful diagnostic techniques and treatment methods, given the increasing rates of infection among people worldwide. We reviewed all 135 studies related to pathophysiology involving skin, risk factors, and early detection methods like biopsy and molecular testing, from 2000 to 2023. The current treatments, including cryotherapy and laser therapy, are discussed, while the review emphasizes the role of HPV vaccination in preventing infection. Recommendations for the future would involve the improvement of public education and increased vaccine coverage, together with innovative therapies toward better management or control of skin diseases associated with the human papillomavirus (HPV). By advancing these recommendations, we will be in a better position to prevent and treat HPV skin conditions, thus improving the health condition of the general public across the world. Cervical cancer remains a significant public health challenge, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where access to screening and vaccination is limited. It is the fourth most common cancer among women globally, with approximately 570,000 new cases and 311,000 deaths in 2018 alone [1]. Persistent infection with high-risk types of human papillomavirus (HPV), particularly HPV-16 and HPV-18, is the leading cause of cervical cancer, responsible for nearly all cases [2]. The accuracy and stability of these impressions directly impact the fit and function of dental restorations. This comparative study focuses on two commonly used impression materials: vinyl polysiloxane (VPS), an addition silicone, and alginate, a hydrocolloid, and evaluates their physical and chemical properties to determine their suitability for various clinical applications. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive comparison between VPS and alginate, focusing on the key physical and chemical properties that influence their performance, such as dimensional stability, setting time, hydrophilicity, elastic recovery, and tear strength. The study sought to systematically compare the expression of molecular markers in benign cutaneous lesions and squamous cell cervical carcinoma associated with HPV infection to better understand the pathophysiological mechanisms involved in HPV-related lesions and their progression to malignancy. We included 200 patients recruited from a gynecological clinic divided into two groups: 100 patients with positive HPV tests presenting with cutaneous lesions and 100 patients diagnosed with squamous cell cervical carcinoma and testing positive for HPV. The participants were selected to ensure diverse ethnic and demographic representation. The study utilized different statistical analyses, including Chi-square tests to assess associations between categorical variables and logistic regression to evaluate factors influencing lesion progression and compare marker expressions across different lesion types. The results indicated significant differences in the expression of specific molecular markers between cutaneous lesions and cervical carcinomas, highlighting distinct molecular pathways involved in HPV-related lesion development. Notably, markers such as p16, p53, and E-cadherin showed varying expression, suggesting their potential role in distinguishing between benign and malignant lesions. The findings emphasize the significance of molecular marker profiling in improving diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for HPV-related lesions. The differential expression of molecular markers can offer valuable insights into the pathogenesis of HPV-induced lesions and help develop targeted interventions to prevent malignant transformation. (1) Background: During IVF (in vitro fertilization) procedures, endometrial thickness has a significant role in the success of pregnancy outcomes for embryo transfers. Endometrial thickness, a crucial component of endometrial receptivity, is a contentious issue. The regenerative properties of PRP have been shown in recent research to have positive effects on the endometrium. PRP increases the pregnancy rate in IVF patients with thin endometrium and recurrent implantation failure. In order to demonstrate the efficacy of PRP therapies, this work compares the administration of injectable and infusible PRP during endometrial preparation. (2) Methods: This prospective single-arm control study was conducted at an IVF center in Oradea, Romania. This study included 50 patients; 27 were included in the group with Injectable PRP and 23 in the group with Infusible PRP. The outcome was compared between the two groups, with the primary outcome being the endometrial thickness after the PRP infusion or injection and the secondary outcome being the pregnancy rate in both groups. (3) Results: Patients who were treated with Injectable PRP had a higher pregnancy rate. An improvement in the quality of the endometrium, in terms of thickness, was also observed in the patients who were injected with PRP. The carpal tunnel syndrome has received special attention in recent years, due to its occurrence in people whose work involves repetitive hand activities, a condition often observed in dentists. The condition occurs because of the position of the dentist if the manipulation on patients is not ergonomic. The aim of the present study is to highlight the importance of physical therapy procedures in carpal tunnel syndrome. The present prospective and comparative study was conducted on 17 patients with CTS, analyzing the effects of the therapy in the beginning and end of the protocol. Through the recommended and correctly performed treatments and procedures, the physical recovery of patients with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is effective and fast. The stomatologist profession induces, over long run, modifications of the backbone, caused by the position on the chair. The degenerative diseases of the vertebral column represent a current issue, manifested extensively in all social domains. The present study identified, applied and adapted the most correct, safe and efficient strategy of treating musculoskeletal disorders, on considering the conditions related to patients. Comparatively with other professions, stomatologists register a higher incidence of musculoskeletal pain caused by their work (MSK). Such pain, induced by musculoskeletal disorders, has an enormous impact, altering and restricting a large range of activities. In stomatological practice, virtual reality assures an interactive module capable, through vizualization of the abstract process of digital simulation, of both stomatologist' s communication with the laboratory of dental technique and corroboration of the clinical and paraclinical data An efficient approach of virtual reality assumes acceptance of the artificially created environment, competence and skill, as well as corresponding hardware equipments, absolutely necessary for generating simulations. The CAD/ CAM technology came to be viewed as a routine process in the realization of dental protheses, while virtual reality gains ground, once the working algorithm integrates both the digital imprints and models, and the articulators and the virtual facial arch. Solving of a complex case requires an organized and systematic approach, including evaluation, diagnostication and working out of the morpho-functional issues, which involves an interdisciplinary cooperation of specialists in orthodontics, prosthetics, Oral and maxillofacial surgery, implantology and periodontontics, capable of assuring an efficient treatment. The software is used in orthodontics, prosthetics or implant surgery. Implants insertion makes use of digital planning and of a surgical guide printed with a 3D device. Computer-aided surgery permits solving of quite complex cases for which the conventional techinques might provoke accidents or a high failure ratio. Whichever the medical specialty in which it is employed, artificial intelligence permits reproduction of a rational classical system, whose main targets are predictibility, efficiency and productivity. The present study analyzes the role of saliva in oral health. In dental erosion, an important role is played by several proteins present in saliva and in the formed pellicle. Saliva is the most important biological factor which affects the progression of dental erosion, so that knowledge of the biochemical properties involved in its protective role may determine preventive measures capable of meliorating the effect of dental erosion. Saliva offers protection against acid erosion in many ways – one of them referring to the influence of the pellicle, and other to its diluting action upon acids. Periodontal disease can occur in adults, young people or children, while low bone density appears in osteoporosis. This latter one is a disease related to aging, characterized by bone resorption and low mineral bone density, which leads to increased bone fragility. Aged people face daily challenges, as the installation of osteoporosis may induce other diseases. When alveolar bone loss occurs, periodontitis is also installed. With age, the maxillary alveolar bone density decreases, so that both periodontitis and osteoporosis appear in the context of low bone mineral density and low bone fragility. However, a correct prevention of the periodontal disease may improve the life quality of elderly persons. Introduction. How can we improve the quality of life (QOL) in patients with osteoporosis? There are few studies that assessed that a control group could have a potential effect on the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) on patients with osteoporosis. The aim of our study was to assess the quality of life and some psychological factors in patients with osteoporosis (women with vertebral osteoporosis from Oradea, Romania) using a support group. Materials and methods. We assessed all patients for their quality of life with Qualeffo 41 Questionnaire, the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale for anxiety, and the Levenstein Stress Perceived Questionnaire for stress and self-esteem with Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, both at baseline and 12 weeks later. Statistical analysis used the package SPSS19. The cases (287 patients) were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The inclusion criteria implies fulfilling the WHO norms for osteoporosis, complying with the principles of medical ethics, while the exclusion criteria refer to severe diseases and non compliance. Results and discussion. The values measured at the end of the study showed that patients from the support group ASPOR (Association for Prevention of Osteoporosis in Romania) had the best results, compared with the placebo group, the worst values being in the control group. In order to improve the quality of life in patients with osteoporosis, it is very important to have a support group. Conclusions. This controlled study is aimed as a catalyst for future long-term approach on patients with osteoporosis in a holistic manner, stress being laid on the adherence to a support group. Electrically charged particles of air pollutants show the degree of atmospheric pollution they being consistent with some chemical indicators of air pollution. This study analyses these indicators of atmospheric pollution (EIAP) present in various zones around the cities of Iasi, Bacau and Piatra Neamt and correlate them with the incidence of some diseases amongst the population. The results show that certain values of electrical indicators of atmospheric pollution point to a higher incidence of diseases, especially to respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Introduction.In this article, we performed a study on dental implant placement in patients presenting osteoporosis and we observed the bond between face bones modifications and implant integration. Materials and methods. The study was carried out on 71 patients with osteoporosis, 43 women and 24 men (the sum of female patients with the sum of male patients is not equal with the sum of the study group) with ages between 50-63 years, to whom dental implants were performed. We analyzed the period of time needed for bone tissue healing after performing the implant procedure, and also whether the bone structure type may influence implant's life. Results and disscusion. In the case of women with osteoporosis, where implant was inserted in thin bone structures, the percentage of implant loss is significantly higher than in men with osteoporosis, as well as in cases in which the implant was performed in thick or compact bone.Conclusions. In women with osteoporosis, failure of an implant performed in dense bone structures is higher than in men. Therefore, these patients may receive dental implants considering a series of factors such as bone structure, age and manifested diseases of the stomatognathic system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article highlights the fact that lately plasma has gained more and more applications in medicine. Plasma produces both morphological and chemical changes of the surface and free radicals on the polymers' surface. By using various treatments with plasma, changes occur on the surface of some polymer type materials in terms of physical and chemical properties, without affecting their properties as a whole. Plasma-activated water (PAW) is a method well suited for microbiological decontamination treatments. Medical controversies have multiple implications and they cannot always be solved easily. In recent times, the increased number of medical controversies results mainly from the insufficient resources necessary to perform research activities that could solve them on the basis of scientific evidence. It is therefore obvious that solving of a medical controversy can be achieved through a process based on scientific and legal principles. Selection of judges and referees would also involve consultation with appropriate scientific societies and organizations, to assure specific scientific capability and no obvious connection to the disputed issue. A new process for medical controversies resolution should address a broad range of issues - including safety, efficacy, cost and related economic concerns, quality of life, ethical and legal concerns.
