Abstract

This paper studies the main characteristics of the traditional urban configuration of Arab cities, as an important built heritage, discussing the approach adopted with such configuration at the local level, and examines its ability to preserve the character of the city, as well as, its responsiveness to the recent requirements of its society that constantly change; in order to reach the appropriate procedures to deal with the traditional urban configuration of the Iraqi city to achieve a vital cultural communication with the vernacular built heritage, by dealing with the Form-Moral Values structure. Due to its importance within other traditional Iraqi cities, the research chose Al-Kadhimiya as a case study, so it discusses and compares three projects in the competition of developing the surrounding area of Al-Kadhimiya Shrine, in 2009, considering these projects as a clear indication of the recent local approach in dealing with traditional urban configuration. The research reveals a relationship between the type of the traditional urban configuration’s Form-Moral Values bond, and the type of procedures used for it, which could form a vital type of traditional Arab city urban configuration, that keeps the essential characteristics, and in the meantime, responds to the recent demands of the society.

Abstract

Recently, research has focused on non-thermal plasma (NTP) technologies as a way to remove volatile organic compounds from the air stream, due to its distinctive qualities, which include a quick reaction at room temperature. In this work, the properties of the plasma generated by the dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) system and by a glass insulator were studied. Plasma was generated at different voltages (3, 4, 6, 7, 8 kV ) with a fixed distance between the electrodes of 5 mm, and a constant argon gas flow rate of (2.5) I/min. DBD plasma emission spectra were recorded for each voltage. The Boltzmann plot method was used to calculate the electron temperature in the plasma ( ), and the Stark expansion method was used to calculate the electron density ( ). The decomposition of organic compounds (cyclohexane) was also studied using DBD plasma. The results showed that the potential difference between the two electrodes has a clear effect on the plasma parameters, as the temperature of the electrons and the density of electrons increase with the increase in the potential difference between the two electrodes. The DBD plasma system proved to be a good way to decompose volatile organic compounds, as the results proved the emission of hydrogen gas as one of the dissociation products of cyclohexane.

3. Prediction of the Nitrogen Content of Rice Leaf Using Multi-Spectral Images Based on Hybrid Radial Basis Function Neural Network and Partial Least-Squares Regression

Abstract

This paper’s novel focus is predicting the leaf nitrogen content of rice during growing and maturing. A multispectral image processing-based prediction model of the Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBFNN) model was proposed. Moreover, this paper depicted three primary points as the following: First, collect images of rice leaves (RL) from a controlled condition experimental laboratory and new shoot leaves in different stages in the visible light spectrum, and apply digital image processing technology to extract the color characteristics of RL and the morphological characteristics of the new shoot leaves. Secondly, the RBFNN model, the General Regression Model (GRL), and the General Regression Method (GRM) model were constructed based on the extracted image feature parameters and the nitrogen content of rice leaves. Third, the RBFNN is optimized by and Partial Least-Squares Regression (RBFNN-PLSR) model. Finally, the validation results show that the nitrogen content prediction models at growing and mature stages that the mean absolute error (MAE), the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), and the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of the RFBNN model during the rice-growing stage and the mature stage are 0.6418 (%), 0.5399 (%), 0.0652 (%), and 0.3540 (%), 0.1566 (%), 0.0214 (%) respectively, the predicted value of the model fits well with the actual value. Finally, the model may be used to give the best foundation for achieving exact fertilization control by continuously monitoring the nitrogen nutrition status of rice. In addition, at the growing stage, the RBFNN model shows better results compared to both GRL and GRM, in which MAE is reduced by 0.2233% and 0.2785%, respectively.

4. Comparing Sentinel-2 and Landsat 8 for Burn Severity Mapping in Western North America

Abstract

Accurate assessment of burn severity is a critical need for an improved understanding of fire behavior and ecology and effective post-fire management. Although NASA Landsat satellites have a long history of use for remotely sensed mapping of burn severity, the recently launched (2015 and 2017) European Space Agency Sentinel-2 satellite constellation offers increased temporal and spatial resolution with global coverage, combined with free data access. Evaluations of burn severity derived from Landsat and Sentinel generally show comparable results, but these studies only assessed a small number of fires with limited field data. We used 912 ground calibration plots from 26 fires that burned between 2016 and 2019 in western North America to compare Sentinel- and Landsat-derived burn severity estimates with the field-based composite burn index. We mapped burn severity using two methods; the well-established paired scene approach, in which a single pre- and post-fire scene are selected for each fire, and also a mean image compositing approach that automatically integrates multiple scenes using the cloud-based remote sensing platform Google Earth Engine. We found that Sentinel generally performed as well or better than Landsat for four spectral indices of burn severity, particularly when using atmospherically corrected Sentinel imagery. Additionally, we tested the effects of mapping burn severity at Sentinel’s finer spatial resolution (10 m) on estimates of the spatial complexity of stand-replacing fire, resulting in a 5% average reduction per-fire in area mapped as high-severity patch interiors (24,273 ha total) compared to mapping at the resolution of Landsat (30 m). These findings suggest Sentinel may improve ecological discrimination of fine-scale fire effects, but also warrant caution when comparing estimates of burn severity spatial patterns derived at different resolutions. Overall, these results indicate that burn severity mapping will benefit substantially from the integration of Sentinel imagery through increased imagery availability, and that Sentinel’s higher spatial resolution improves opportunities for examining finer-scale fire effects across ecosystems.

Methods: We used a multicohort, health-state-transition model to project the number of HCV genotype 1 and 4 patients achieving a sustained virologic response 12 weeks after treatment or progressing to compensated cirrhosis (CC), decompensated cirrhosis (DCC), hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), or liver-related death (LrD) from 2016 to 2036. In the low/medium/high screening scenarios, the proportion of patients screened for HCV was projected to increase to 60%/85%/99%, respectively, by 2036. We analyzed four treatment strategies: 1) no treatment, 2) all-oral direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) given to F3–F4 (CC) patients only, 3) all-oral DAAs to F2–F3–F4 (CC) patients, and 4) all-oral DAAs to all fibrosis patients. Results: Low, medium, and high HCV screening scenarios projected that 3,838, 5,665, and 7,669 individuals will be diagnosed with HCV infection, respectively, from 2016 to 2036, or 40% of those aged 18–39 years, and 60% of those aged 40–80 years. With no treatment, the projected number of patients reaching CC, DCC, HCC, or LrD in 2036 was 899, 147, 131, and 147, respectively, for the 18–39 years age group. For the 40–80 years age group, these projections were substantially greater: 2,828 CC, 736 DCC, 668 HCC, and 958 LrD. The overall economic burden without treatment reached 150 million EUR. However, introducing DAAs for F0–F4 patients was projected to increase the proportion of remaining life-years spent in sustained virologic response 12 weeks after treatment by 43% and 62% compared to DAAs given at F2–F4 or F3–F4 only, respectively. Conclusion: An enhanced screening policy combined with broader access to DAAs can diminish the future clinical and economic burden of HCV in the Lebanese population and, for the middle-aged and elderly, provide the greatest health benefit with net cost savings. 7. A Spectroscopic and structural study of FeCoSb alloy

Abstract

Fe, Co and Sb nanopowders were fruitfully prepared by electrical wire explosion method in Double distilled and de-ionized water (DDDW) media. The formation of iron, cobalt and antimony (FeCoSb) alloy nanopowder was monitored by X-ray diffraction. The x-ray diffraction pattern indicates that there are iron, cobalt and antimony peaks. Optical properties of this alloy nanoparticles were characterized by UV-Visible absorption spectra. The absorption peak position is shifted to the lower wavelengths when the current increases. That means the mean size of the nanoparticles controlled by changing the magnitude of the current. The surface morphological analysis is carried out by employing Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Particles with varies size were observed also from the images the some particles have uneven shapes with agglomerate and the other have spherical shape. The exploding FeCoSb alloy wire plasma parameters is study by optical emission spectroscopy. The emission spectra of the plasma have been recorded and analyzed. The plasma electron temperature (Te), was determined by Boltzmann plot, and the electron density (ne), by Stark broadening for wire with diameter 0.3 mm and current of 75A in distilled water.

9. Optical properties for TiO2 / PMMA nanocomposite thin films prepared by plasma jet

Abstract

PMMA/TiO2 homogeneous thin films were deposited by using plasma jet system under normal atmospheric pressure and room temperature. PMMA/TiO2 nanocomposite thin film synthesized by plasma polymerization. Titanium oxide was mixed with Methyl Methacrylate Monomer (MMA) with specific weight ratios (1, 3 and 5 grams of TiO2 per 100 ml of MMA). Optical properties of PMMA/TiO2 nanocomposite thin films were characterized by UV-Visible absorption spectra using a double beam UV-Vis-NIR Spectrophotometer. The thin films surface morphological analysis is carried out by employing SEM. The structure analysis are achieved by X-ray diffraction. UV-Visible absorption spectra shows that the increasing the concentration of titanium oxide added to the polymer leads to shift the peak position (λmax) toward the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Also the peak width increases when the concentration of TiO2 increases. It can be controlled optical energy band gap of PMMA/TiO2 nanocomposite thin films by changing concentration of TiO2. SEM indicate a uniform distribution of titanium oxide particles in PMMA matrix. The x-ray diffraction pattern indicated that the thin films have amorphous structure.

Abstract

Islamic shrines architecture is one of the Islamic Architectural building types. It is called (Thresholds); (Atabat) in Arabic. Thoroughbred throughout the Islamic world from the east to west. In addition, it carries the style features and peculiarities of uniqueness from the rest of the types of Islamic architecture. By virtue of the particularity of its function as tomb for important person in Islamic history. Islamic shrines architecture has grown and evolved in started from the small shrines, and then taken to widen with the evolution of time in line with the value of the event and the rituals associated with it. Some of them to became centers of large cities of the largest in many parts of the Islamic world. The research problem represented is the insufficiency of information about what roles influences and factors of place (cultural and environmental) in the formation of patterns and relationships space holy Islamic shrines architecture in Iraq. In addition, what the role-played by the inherited urban civilization Iraqi both sides physical & moral support and integration with the concepts and spirit of the Islamic religion, and its rules in construction of architecture. Moreover, presumably Holy Islamic shrines architecture in Iraq are to be studied and its impact on the urban structure and planning in many cities of Iraq mission. In addition to the dimensions of the moral and doctrinal and their impact on society, they have evolved modes of planning over time according to the needs and requirements circumstantial, but the factor of place had a role the basis for the formation of masses and spaces. In addition to the formal role of the Islamic religion and the nature of religious practice in which they are, and the availability of spatial knowledge about the factors that produced the Iraqi architecture, provides a comprehensive picture about the origin of processors and architectural configurations and their source of origin from which it came. Which branded the Islamic holy shrines in Iraq equipped and versatile textural characteristics and detailed thoroughbreds.

Abstract

EOS is a technology demonstrator, designed to explore the capabilities of hybrid event detection technology, leveraging both Cherenkov and scintillation light simultaneously. With a fiducial mass of four tons, EOS is designed to operate in a high-precision regime, with sufficient size to utilize time-of-flight information for full event reconstruction, flexibility to demonstrate a range of cutting edge technologies, and simplicity of design to facilitate potential future deployment at alternative sites. Results from EOS can inform the design of future neutrino detectors for both fundamental physics and nonproliferation applications.

Abstract

The LUX-ZEPLIN experiment is a dark matter detector centered on a dual-phase xenon time projection chamber operating at the Sanford Underground Research Facility in Lead, South Dakota, USA. This Letter reports results from LUX-ZEPLIN's first search for weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) with an exposure of 60~live days using a fiducial mass of 5.5 t. A profile-likelihood ratio analysis shows the data to be consistent with a background-only hypothesis, setting new limits on spin-independent WIMP-nucleon, spin-dependent WIMP-neutron, and spin-dependent WIMP-proton cross sections for WIMP masses above 9 GeV/c$^2$. The most stringent limit is set for spin-independent scattering at 36 GeV/c$^2$, rejecting cross sections above 9.2$\times 10^{-48}$ cm$^2$ at the 90% confidence level., Comment: 9 pages, 8 figures. Abstract

Eos is a technology demonstrator, designed to explore the capabilities of hybrid event detection technology, leveraging both Cherenkov and scintillation light simultaneously. With a fiducial mass of four tons, Eos is designed to operate in a high-precision regime, with sufficient size to utilize time-of-flight information for full event reconstruction, flexibility to demonstrate a range of cutting edge technologies, and simplicity of design to facilitate potential future deployment at alternative sites. Results from Eos can inform the design of future neutrino detectors for both fundamental physics and nonproliferation applications. This paper describes the conceptual design and potential applications of the Eos detector.

16. Effect of Bay leaves (Laurus nobilis) Plant Extracts as Anti-Oxidant on Crud Sun flower Oil

Abstract

This investigation was carried out to study the Bay leaves (Laurus nobilis) and extracted three types of Aqueous, Ethanolic alcohol, Essential oil extracts of leaf plant powder study. The performance of extracts as anti-oxidant agent were evaluated by estimate the value of Thiobarbituric acid (TBA) of sunflower oil to these extracts in concentrate% 0.04 and %0.02 compared with commercial antioxidant BHA (Butylated hydroxyl anisole) and BHT (Butylated hydroxyl toluene) in concentrate % 0.02 , in addition to the control sample (of crude sunflower oil without any additives) during 16 days storage at 60 C. The results showed an increase in the TBA values in sunflower oil, crude and stored in during storage at 16 days in 60 C. Some extracts laurels showed high anti-oxidant activity and more than commercial antioxidants (BHT) and (BHA). The results of the TBA transactions for crude extracts of plant concentration% 0.04 most efficient overall transactions in concentration % 0.02, aqueous extract of bay leaves in the concentration of % 0.04 showed high activity as an antioxidant with 2.88 mg Malonaldehyde / kg oil TBA value in the 16th and the last day of storage time in 60 C, while the TBA values of the rest of the coefficients of crude sunflower oil translate with plant extract :essential oil ethanolic alcohol and water extract in the concentration of 0.02% were 4.04, 3.39, 3.12 mg Malonaldehyde / kg oil, and in the concentration of 0.04% for essential oil ethanolic alcohol treatment were 4.01 and 2.29 mg Malonaldehyde / kg oil , respectively in the last day of storage, either control and commercial antioxidants BHA and BHT reached TBA values of crude oil 6.88, 3.16 and 3.50 mg Malonaldehyde/kg oil, respectively, in the same day of storage. Was estimated as the content of plant nutrients and mineral major and minor, were detected. Chemical quality of the active chemical compounds of plant leaves, which included tannin, Alclaicosadat, Alsabonyat, resins, phenols, flavonoids and alkaloids were evaluate to.

Abstract

The High Energy Physics community can benefit from a natural synergy in research activities into next-generation large-scale water and scintillator neutrino detectors, now being studied for remote reactor monitoring, discovery and exclusion applications in cooperative nonproliferation contexts. Since approximately 2010, US nonproliferation researchers, supported by the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), have been studying a range of possible applications of relatively large (100 ton) to very large (hundreds of kiloton) water and scintillator neutrino detectors. In parallel, the fundamental physics community has been developing detectors at similar scales and with similar design features for a range of high-priority physics topics, primarily in fundamental neutrino physics. These topics include neutrino oscillation studies at beams and reactors, solar, and geological neutrino measurements, supernova studies, and others. Examples of ongoing synergistic work at U.S. national laboratories and universities include prototype gadolinium-doped water and water-based and opaque scintillator test-beds and demonstrators, extensive testing and industry partnerships related to large area fast position-sensitive photomultiplier tubes, and the development of concepts for a possible underground kiloton-scale water-based detector for reactor monitoring and technology demonstrations. Some opportunities for engagement between the two communities include bi-annual Applied Antineutrino Physics conferences, collaboration with U.S. National Laboratories engaging in this research, and occasional NNSA funding opportunities supporting a blend of nonproliferation and basic science R&D, directed at the U.S. academic community., Comment: contribution to Snowmass 2021

Abstract

The dual-phase xenon time projection chamber (TPC) is a powerful tool for direct-detection experiments searching for WIMP dark matter, other dark matter models, and neutrinoless double-beta decay. Successful operation of such a TPC is critically dependent on the ability to hold high electric fields in the bulk liquid, across the liquid surface, and in the gas. Careful design and construction of the electrodes used to establish these fields is therefore required. We present the design and production of the LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment's high-voltage electrodes, a set of four woven mesh wire grids. Grid design drivers are discussed, with emphasis placed on design of the electron extraction region. We follow this with a description of the grid production process and a discussion of steps taken to validate the LZ grids prior to integration into the TPC., Comment: 23 pages, 20 figures, to be submitted to Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A. Abstract

LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) is a second-generation direct dark matter experiment with spin-independent WIMP-nucleon scattering sensitivity above $1.4 \times 10^{-48}$ cm$^{2}$ for a WIMP mass of 40 GeV/c$^{2}$ and a 1000 d exposure. LZ achieves this sensitivity through a combination of a large 5.6 t fiducial volume, active inner and outer veto systems, and radio-pure construction using materials with inherently low radioactivity content. The LZ collaboration performed an extensive radioassay campaign over a period of six years to inform material selection for construction and provide an input to the experimental background model against which any possible signal excess may be evaluated. The campaign and its results are described in this paper. We present assays of dust and radon daughters depositing on the surface of components as well as cleanliness controls necessary to maintain background expectations through detector construction and assembly. Finally, examples from the campaign to highlight fixed contaminant radioassays for the LZ photomultiplier tubes, quality control and quality assurance procedures through fabrication, radon emanation measurements of major sub-systems, and bespoke detector systems to assay scintillator are presented., Comment: 45 pages (79 inc. tables), 7 figures, 9 tables

Abstract

We describe the design and assembly of the LUX-ZEPLIN experiment, a direct detection search for cosmic WIMP dark matter particles. The centerpiece of the experiment is a large liquid xenon time projection chamber sensitive to low energy nuclear recoils. Rejection of backgrounds is enhanced by a Xe skin veto detector and by a liquid scintillator Outer Detector loaded with gadolinium for efficient neutron capture and tagging. LZ is located in the Davis Cavern at the 4850' level of the Sanford Underground Research Facility in Lead, South Dakota, USA. We describe the major subsystems of the experiment and its key design features and requirements.

Abstract

LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) is a next generation dark matter direct detection experiment that will operate 4850 feet underground at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) in Lead, South Dakota, USA. Using a two-phase xenon detector with an active mass of 7~tonnes, LZ will search primarily for low-energy interactions with Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs), which are hypothesized to make up the dark matter in our galactic halo. In this paper, the projected WIMP sensitivity of LZ is presented based on the latest background estimates and simulations of the detector. For a 1000~live day run using a 5.6~tonne fiducial mass, LZ is projected to exclude at 90\% confidence level spin-independent WIMP-nucleon cross sections above $1.4 \times 10^{-48}$~cm$^{2}$ for a 40~$\mathrm{GeV}/c^{2}$ mass WIMP. Additionally, a $5\sigma$ discovery potential is projected reaching cross sections below the exclusion limits of recent experiments. For spin-dependent WIMP-neutron(-proton) scattering, a sensitivity of $2.3 \times 10^{-43}$~cm$^{2}$ ($7.1 \times 10^{-42}$~cm$^{2}$) for a 40~$\mathrm{GeV}/c^{2}$ mass WIMP is expected. Abstract

In this Technical Design Report (TDR) we describe the LZ detector to be built at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF). Abstract

Translating literary text under any genre often presents unique challenges for translators, as literature is rich with socio-cultural aspects. This difficulty arises from the need to communicate not only the literal meaning of words but also the cultural significance inherent in the original text. Culture significantly influences the formation of both the original and translated texts, as language is considered a reflection of society and derived from culture. When dealing with the socio-cultural aspects in Chaos of the Senses, written by the Algerian writer Ahlam Mosteghanemi, with its two translations, the socio-cultural aspects require a careful balancing act between the fidelity to the original text and the accessibility for the new readers. In this context, following L. Venuti's (2008) strategies of domestication and foreignization, the present study aims to explore these strategies in the translation of the socio-cultural aspects in the novel by comparing the original text with its translations. The study also examines whether the translators' background influences their decisions. It aims to create a clear vision of the Arabic and English versions. The findings indicate that, with some variation, both translators employ domestication and foreignization strategies, with a greater focus on foreignization. Abstract

The LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment will search for dark matter particle interactions with a detector containing a total of 10 tonnes of liquid xenon within a double-vessel cryostat. The large mass and proximity of the cryostat to the active detector volume demand the use of material with extremely low intrinsic radioactivity. We report on the radioassay campaign conducted to identify suitable metals, the determination of factors limiting radiopure production, and the selection of titanium for construction of the LZ cryostat and other detector components. This titanium has been measured with activities of $^{238}$U$_{e}$~$<$1.6~mBq/kg, $^{238}$U$_{l}$~$<$0.09~mBq/kg, $^{232}$Th$_{e}$~$=0.28\pm 0.03$~mBq/kg, $^{232}$Th$_{l}$~$=0.25\pm 0.02$~mBq/kg, $^{40}$K~$<$0.54~mBq/kg, and $^{60}$Co~$<$0.02~mBq/kg (68\% CL). Such low intrinsic activities, which are some of the lowest ever reported for titanium, enable its use for future dark matter and other rare event searches. Monte Carlo simulations have been performed to assess the expected background contribution from the LZ cryostat with this radioactivity. In 1,000 days of WIMP search exposure of a 5.6-tonne fiducial mass, the cryostat will contribute only a mean background of $0.160\pm0.001$(stat)$\pm0.030$(sys) counts., Comment: 13 pages, 3 figures, accepted for publication in Astroparticle Physics

Abstract

The design and performance of the LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) detector is described as of March 2015 in this Conceptual Design Report. LZ is a second-generation dark-matter detector with the potential for unprecedented sensitivity to weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) of masses from a few GeV/c2 to hundreds of TeV/c2. With total liquid xenon mass of about 10 tonnes, LZ will be the most sensitive experiment for WIMPs in this mass region by the end of the decade. This report describes in detail the design of the LZ technical systems. Expected backgrounds are quantified and the performance of the experiment is presented. The LZ detector will be located at the Sanford Underground Research Facility in South Dakota. The organization of the LZ Project and a summary of the expected cost and current schedule are given., Comment: 278 pages. Abstract

The acrylic polymer composites in this study are made up of various weight ratios of cement or silica nanoparticles (1, 3, 5, and 10 wt%) using the casting method. The effects of doping ratio/type on mechanical, dielectric, thermal, and hydrophobic properties were investigated. Acrylic polymer composites containing 5 wt% cement or silica nanoparticles had the lowest abrasion wear rates and the highest shore-D hardness and impact strength. The increase in the inclusion of cement or silica nanoparticles enhanced surface roughness, water contact angle (WCA), and thermal insulation. Acrylic/cement composites demonstrated higher mechanical, electrical, and thermal insulation properties than acrylic/silica composites because of their lower particle size and their low thermal/electrical conductivity. Furthermore, to improve the surface hydrophobic characteristics of acrylic composites, the surface was treated with a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet. The DBD plasma jet treatment significantly enhanced the hydrophobicity of acrylic polymer composites. For example, the WCA of acrylic composites containing 5 wt% silica or cement nanoparticles increased from 35.3° to 55° and 44.7° to 73°, respectively, by plasma treatment performed at an Ar flow rate of 5 L/min and for an exposure interval of 25 s. The DBD plasma jet treatment is an excellent and inexpensive technique for improving the hydrophobic properties of acrylic polymer composites. Abstract

In this paper, the Magnetically Stabilized Gliding Arc Discharge (MSGAD) system was constructed to produce non-thermal plasma using argon gas under atmospheric pressure. A gliding plasma discharge was stabilized by a magnetic field for the purpose of a planned investigation. The emission spectra of the generated plasma using a gliding arc discharge system were recorded under atmospheric pressure, with a constant value of alternating voltage (4 kV) and at different gas flow rates of) 0.5–2.5 (L/min. The plasma parameters, including electron temperature (Te), electron density (ne), plasma frequency, Debye length and electron temperature, were calculated. The electron temperature was measured using the Boltzmann plot method, and the electron density was determined using the Stark broadening method. The results show an increase of the electron temperature from 1.138 to 1.277eV and electron density from 2.78×1017 to 3.48×1017 cm-3 as the gas flow increased from 0.5 to 2.5 L/min. Abstract

Today events have become a new way for cities to identify themselves and their presence. It seeks to change its approach towards investing the idea of events and developing their platforms by developing the event program in a comprehensive way, whether at the level of its organization or its results. The event management process is complex and integrated, requiring that functions be segmented according to the system's dedicated department by sight the different circumstances and contexts for cities and their available potential. Dimensions and indicators varied in many aspects, especially in cities with cultural events. The research problem has been identified in the absence of a clear vision about the indicators of urban cultural management and its role in activating the dimensions of urban development of the event cities. The aim of the research was to limit the methods and enhance knowledge of how urban management systems work that contribute to improving the management of the cultural environment of the event cities.

This research clarifies a problem (the lack of comprehensiveness of the available knowledge about the concept of the branding and its impact on shaping or enhancing the identity of the place in contemporary cities) assuming that (the brand and the ways to achieve it have an important role in promoting and forming the identity of the place in contemporary cities). The research concluded that the brand of the place and its effectiveness stems from the identity of the place and is linked to the rooted core values of the place. The research also reached a set of urban design strategies used in achieving the brand of the place.

Abstract

The article aims to develop a fractional-order proportional integral derivative (PID) controller to monitor insulin and glucose levels in humans under the influences of stress, excitement, and trauma. A novel fractional-order diabetes mellitus model is proposed, incorporating a nonsingular, nonlocal kernel (Mittag-Leffler function) to account for the effect of epinephrine on suppressing insulin secretion and the dynamics of beta-cell mass. As beta-cell mass increases in the presence of adrenaline, the system remains highly responsive to rising blood glucose and falling insulin levels, driven by the hormone’s suppressive effects. The key advantage of this model is its ability to incorporate these physiological stressors and use fractional-order derivatives to describe the nonlocal dynamics within the system. The innovations of this work include a fractional-order diabetes mellitus model that captures the biological memory and hereditary effects of glucose regulation under stress, and a fractional-order PID controller that offers greater stability and robustness compared to conventional controllers, particularly in managing adrenaline-induced hyperglycemia. The model’s positivity, boundedness, and equilibrium solutions are rigorously analyzed to ensure feasibility. Additionally, a new theorem is proven using fixed-point theory, confirming the existence and uniqueness of the fractional-order model. Ulam–Hyers stability analysis further demonstrates the model’s robustness and well-posedness, while qualitative properties are explored. Numerical simulations to explore which is done by solutions with a two-step Lagrange polynomial for generalized Mittag Leffler kernel showed that prolonged and severe hyperglycemia was caused by regular release of adrenaline into the blood at different fractional order values and fractal dimensions by changing initial values for normal and diabetes patients. PID and controller results are analyzed to increase the stability of the system to monitor and assess of glucose–insulin system with beta cell mass to control the hyperglycemia. Lastly, the results are obtained and visually shown using graphical representations, which provide empirical evidence in support of our theoretical findings. At the end comparison of numerical simulations is constructed to show the efficiency, convergence, and accuracy of proposed techniques at different fractional values with power law and exponential kernels. Numerical simulations, mathematical modeling, and analysis work together to shed light on the dynamics of diabetes mellitus and make important advances in the knowledge and treatment of this common disease.

Abstract

Abstract The farming of animals is one of the largest industries, with animal food products, milk, and dairy being crucial components of the global economy. However, zoonotic bacterial diseases, including brucellosis, pose significant risks to human health. The goal of this research is to develop a mathematical model to understand the spread of brucellosis in cattle populations, utilizing the Caputo-Fabrizio operator to control the disease’s incidence rate. The existence and uniqueness of the model’s solution are ensured through the Lipschitz conditions, the contraction mapping theorem, and the application of the kernel properties of the Caputo-Fabrizio operator. Sensitivity analysis is conducted to assess the impact of various factors on the disease’s progression. This study performs a realistic stability analysis of both global and local stability at the disease-free and the endemic equilibrium point which give a more accurate understanding of the dynamism and behavior of the system. Stability analysis is performed using Picard stability in Banach spaces, and Lagrange’s interpolation formula is employed to obtain initial approximations for successive fractional orders. The findings of this study demonstrate that fractional orders, along with memory effects, play a crucial role in describing the transmission dynamics of brucellosis. Sensitivity analysis helps identify the parameters most critical to the infection rate, providing essential data for potential control measures. The results highlight the applicability of the Caputo-Fabrizio operator in modeling the transmission of infectious diseases like brucellosis and offer a strong foundation for controlling disease spread within communities.

Abstract

Abstract Introduction: Down Syndrome Regression Disorder (DSRD) is a neuropsychiatric condition causing insomnia, catatonia, encephalopathy, and obsessive-compulsive behavior in otherwise healthy individuals with Down syndrome (DS). Smaller cohorts have identified heterogenous diagnostic abnormalities which have predicted immunotherapy responsiveness although pattern analysis in a large cohort has never been performed. Methods: A multi-center, retrospective study of individuals with DSRD was performed. Individuals met international consensus criteria for DRSD and were aged 10–30 years. Clinical, demographic, and diagnostic data was extracted for all individuals. Serum studies were compared to a group of individuals with DS only. Results: A total of 164 individuals with DSRD were identified. Individuals with DSRD were more likely to have a positive antinuclear antibody, low complement 3, abnormal cytokines, and elevated ferritin levels. In a minority of individuals, EEG (30%), MRI (33%) and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) (21%) were abnormal. The goal of this work is to study plasma parameters for Fe plasma generated by exploding wire (EEW) in carbon nanotubes-water colloid with three current values (50, 100 and 150)A. In this research, the plasma electron temperature (Te), the electron density (ne), electron density (ne), plasma frequency(f p), Debye length (λD) and Debye number (ND) were found for Fe produced by Arc discharge plasma. Boltzmann plot was used to calculate the plasma electron temperature (Te);electron density (ne) was calculated from Stark broadening. It was found that the electron temperature values increased from (0.4134 _ 0.415) eV and the electron density increased from( 0.93 - 1.16)× 1017cm-3.

49. Do you CBI what I see? The relationship between the Composite Burn Index and quantitative field measures of burn severity varies across gradients of forest structure

Abstract

Burn severity in forests is commonly assessed in the field with visual ordinal estimates such as the Composite Burn Index (CBI). However, how CBI (a composite of several individual field measures) relates to independent quantitative measures of burn severity (e.g. fire-caused tree mortality, surface charring) has not been widely tested. Here, we use field data from 315 plots in 14 fires in the north-western USA to ask: (1) how CBI relates to eight independent field measures of burn severity; and (2) how these relationships vary across gradients of pre-fire forest structure. Overall, CBI corresponded well with most independent field measures, but some measures of extreme burn severity (e.g. deep charring on trees and snags) were not captured by CBI. Additionally, some measures of canopy burn severity corresponded to lower CBI values in forests with larger average tree size (diameter and height) – potentially from decoupling of surface and canopy fire effects in stands with larger, fire-resistant trees. Our findings suggest continued broad utility of CBI, while highlighting how the correspondence of aggregate plot-level CBI to different measures of burn severity can vary with forest conditions. We also suggest considerations for broadening CBI to account for more extreme levels of burn severity.

Abstract

Certain chemical compounds, such as biologically active molecules, can be produced and found in high concentrations in plants. Aloe vera plant consists mainly of more than 90% water and many chemical compounds, such as polysaccharides, due to its ability to adapt to desert conditions and environments. More than 200 nutritional substances were found to be exist in aloe vera, including vitamins, enzymes, minerals, polysaccharides, lignin, antioxidants and amino acids. flavonoids and phenols, among the important compounds, play an important and vital role as antioxidants by their function as free radicals’ scavengers. The current research is aiming to investigate the value of total polyphenols , flavonoids and antioxidant activities of magnetized water, non-magnetized water and alcoholic extracts of fresh Aloe Vera leaves .The study showed that the extracts of ethanol and magnetized water are much better than non-magnetized water.
