In the present paper, an algorithm for the numerical solution of the external Dirichlet generalized harmonic problem for a sphere by the method of probabilistic solution (MPS) is given, where generalized indicates that a boundary function has a finite number of first kind discontinuity curves. The algorithm consists of the following main stages: (1) the transition from an infinite domain to a finite domain by an inversion; (2) the consideration of a new Dirichlet generalized harmonic problem on the basis of Kelvin theorem for the obtained finite domain; (3) the numerical solution of the new problem for the finite domain by the MPS, which in turn is based on a computer simulation of the Weiner process; (4) finding the probabilistic solution of the posed generalized problem at any fixed points of the infinite domain by the solution of the new problem. For illustration, numerical examples are considered and results are presented.

Mathematics - Analysis of PDEs - Abstract
A nonlocal contact problem for two-dimensional linear elliptic equations is stated and investigated. The method of separation of variables is used to find the solution of a stated problem in case of Poisson's equation. Then the more general problem with nonlocal multipoint contact conditions for elliptic equation with variable coefficients is considered and the iterative method to solve the problem numerically is constructed and investigated. The uniqueness and existence of the regular solution is proved. The iterative method allows to reduce the solution of a nonlocal contact problem to the solution of a sequence of classical boundary value problems.

- Abstract
In cattle, mating to intact, but not vasectomised, bulls has been shown to modify the endometrial transcriptome, suggesting an important role of sperm in the modulation of the uterine environment in this species. However, it is not clear whether these changes are driven by intrinsic sperm factors, or by factors of accessory gland (AG) origin that bind to sperm at ejaculation. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to determine whether ejaculated sperm, which are suspended in the secretions of the AGs, elicit a different endometrial transcriptomic response than epididymal sperm, which have never been exposed to AG factors. To this end, bovine endometrial explants collected from heifers in oestrus were (co-)incubated for 6 h alone (control), or with epididymal sperm or ejaculated sperm, following which transcriptomic changes in the endometrium were evaluated. Epididymal sperm elicited a more dramatic endometrial response than ejaculated sperm, in terms of the number of differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Indeed, RNA-sequencing data analysis revealed 1912 DEGs in endometrial explants exposed to epididymal sperm compared with control explants, whereas 115 DEGs were detected between endometrial explants exposed to ejaculated sperm in comparison to control explants. The top pathways associated with genes upregulated by epididymal sperm included T cell regulation and TNF, NF-KB and IL17 signalling. Interestingly, ejaculated sperm induced downregulation of genes associated with T cell immunity and Th17 differentiation, and upregulation of genes involved in NF-KB signalling, in comparison to epididymal sperm. These data indicate that factors of AG origin modulate the interaction between sperm and the endometrium in cattle.

- Abstract
The objective was to compare pregnancy per service event (P/S) in lactating dairy cows following timed artificial insemination (AI) or timed embryo transfer (ET) using either fresh or frozen in vitro-produced embryos. Oocytes were collected once per week for up to 9 wk using transvaginal ovum pick-up from elite dairy donors (ET-DAIRY; n = 40; Holstein-Friesian and Jersey) and elite beef donors (ET-ELITE-BEEF; n = 21; Angus). Both ET-DAIRY and ET-ELITE-BEEF donors consisted of heifers and cows. In addition, oocytes were collected from the ovaries of beef heifers of known pedigree following slaughter at a commercial abattoir (ET-COMM-BEEF; n = 119). Following in vitro maturation and fertilization, presumptive zygotes were cultured in vitro to the blastocyst stage. Grade 1 blastocysts were either transferred fresh or frozen for on-farm thawing and direct transfer. A total of 1,106 recipient cows (all lactating, predominantly Holstein-Friesian) located on 16 herdlets were blocked based on parity, calving date, and Economic Breeding Index, and randomly assigned to receive AI (n = 243) or ET (n = 863) after estrous synchronization with a 10-d Progesterone-synch protocol. Cows assigned to ET were further randomized to receive fresh (n = 187) or frozen (n = 178) ET-ELITE-BEEF embryos, fresh (n = 169) or frozen (n = 162) ET-DAIRY embryos, or fresh (n = 80) or frozen (n = 87) ET-COMM-BEEF embryos. Pregnancy was diagnosed using transrectal ultrasound on d 32 to 35 after synchronized ovulation and confirmed on d 62 to 65, at which time fetal sex was determined. Pregnancy per service event at d 32 was not different between AI (48.8%) and ET (48.9%) and did not differ between dairy and beef embryos (50.3% vs. 48.1%, respectively). However, P/S was less on d 32 following transfer of frozen embryos (41.6%) compared with fresh embryos (56.1%). Pregnancy loss between d 32 and 62 was greater for ET (15.1%) compared with AI (4.7%), with greater losses observed for frozen beef (18.5%)

- Abstract
Increasing evidence points to an active role of oviductal extracellular vesicles (oEVs) in the early embryo-maternal dialogue. However, it remains unclear whether oEVs contribute to the recognition of the presence of embryos and their quality in the oviduct. Hence, we examined whether the molecular cargo of oEVs secreted by bovine oviduct epithelial cells (BOEC) differs depending on the presence of good (≥ 8 cells, G) or poor (< 8 cells, P) quality embryos. In addition, differences in RNA profiles between G and P embryos were analyzed in attempt to distinguish oEVs and embryonic EVs cargos.

The class of generalized Lie-type color algebras contains the ones of generalized Lie-type algebras, of $n$-Lie algebras and superalgebras, commutative Leibniz $n$-ary algebras and superalgebras, among others. We focus on the class of generalized Lie-type color algebras $\frak L$ admitting a quasi-multiplicative basis, with restrictions neither on the dimensions nor on the base field $\mathbb F$ and study its structure. If we write $\frak L = \mathbb V \oplus \mathbb W$ with $\mathbb V$ and $0 \neq \mathbb W$ linear subspaces, we say that a basis of homogeneous elements $\mathfrak{B} = \{e_i\}_{i \in I}$ of $\mathbb W$ is quasi-multiplicative if given $0 < k < n,$ for $i_1,\dots,i_k \in I$ and $\sigma \in \mathbb S_n$ satisfies $\langle e_{i_1}, \dots, e_{i_k}, \mathbb V, \dots, \mathbb V \rangle_{\sigma} \subset \mathbb{F}e_{j_{\sigma}}$ for some $j_{\sigma} \in I;$ the product of elements of the basis $\langle e_{i_1}, \dots, e_{i_n} \rangle$ belongs to $\mathbb{F}e_j$ for some $j \in I$ or to $\mathbb V$, and a similar condition is verified for the product $\langle \mathbb V, \dots,\mathbb V \rangle$. We state that if $\frak L$ admits a quasi-multiplicative basis then it decomposes as $\mathfrak{L} ={\mathcal U} \oplus (\sum\limits {\frak J}_{k})$ with any ${\frak J}_k$ a well described color gLt-ideal of $\frak L$ admitting also a quasi-multiplicative basis, and ${\mathcal U}$ a linear subspace of $\mathbb V$. Also the minimality of $\frak L$ is characterized in terms of the connections and it is shown that the above direct sum is by means of the family of its minimal color gLt-ideals, admitting each one a $\mu$-quasi-multiplicative basis inherited by the one of $\frak L$.

- Abstract
In this paper, we present some generalizations of Jacobi–Jordan algebras. More concretely, we will focus on noncommutative Jacobi–Jordan algebras, Malcev–Jordan algebras, and general Jacobi–Jordan algebras. We adapt a method, used to classify Poisson algebras, in order to classify all general Jacobi–Jordan algebras up to dimension 4, and, in particular, all noncommutative Jacobi–Jordan algebras up to dimension 4. We present the classification of Malcev–Jordan algebras up to dimension 5. As the class of Jacobi–Jordan algebras (commutative algebras that satisfy the Jacobi identity), we find that Malcev–Jordan algebras are Jordan algebras but not necessarily nilpotent. However, we show that the classification of nilpotent Malcev–Jordan algebras is sufficient to obtain the classification of the whole class. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
[Objective] The aim of this paper is to analyze the self-efficacy of prospective Secondary School Mathematics Teachers at the end of their initial teacher training. [Methodology] The sample was 98 prospective Secondary School Mathematics Teachers who were studying in a University Master’s program for Secondary Education Teachers. The data were their written reflections, which were organized into information units and classified according to the five sources of self-efficacy collected from specialized literature: professional knowledge; classroom practice; physiological, affective and motivational states; cooperation with colleagues and parents; and experience. Subsequently, a content analysis made it possible to identify common topics among them. [Results] The results showed that a teacher's self-efficacy was still in the process of development, far from what might be expected in teachers completing their initial training period. The need to increase the confidence of prospective teachers in their skills to translate knowledge of content into student learning, to implement different teaching strategies and, especially, to increase their confidence in their emotional skills is highlighted. [Conclusions] The results provide valuable information for teacher education programs by indicating the state of teacher self-efficacy at the end of the initial training period. In addition, a tool is provided to analyze the teaching self-efficacy of prospective Secondary Mathematics teachers. All this opens up future lines of research in various areas., [Objetivo] O objetivo deste estudo é analisar a autoeficácia de futuros professores de matemática do ensino médio no final de sua formação docente inicial. - Abstract

- Abstract

- Abstract

- Abstract
[ENG] This study focuses on the comparison of different hydrological programs in a semiarid basin with the aim of providing an evaluation of their performance in the simulation of hydrological processes. For this purpose, two distributed or two-dimensional programs have been evaluated (Iber and HEC-RAS), and a semi-distributed program (HEC-HMS), considering three rainfall events recorded in the rain gauge network of the Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura and a synthetic event with a return period of 100 years. In addition, the behaviour of the models has been evaluated by exposing the digital terrain model to changes to better model it to the reality. The results show that, in general, the Iber model shows greater similarity of the simulated flows with respect to the gauged flows, and that the obstructions present in the basins analysed, on a large scale, do not have a significant influence on the results.

- Abstract
Introduction: Spanish cities are starting to analyse the possibilities of reducing water bodies pollution due to combined sewer overflows through the implementation of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS). Cartagena is a mid-sized city of about 200 000 inhabitants located in a semiarid region. The city is mostly flat, although is surrounded by steeped hills and mountains. Frequent high groundwater phreatic levels limit the possibilities of infiltration. Nevertheless, rooftop SUDS can be an interesting possibility, as most people live in apartments with flat roofs. In this work, an extensive preliminary assessment is carried out to estimate the possible impacts of the application of this technique on different ratios of rooftop SUDS penetration and for different types of events. Methods and data: Data from buildings surfaces is obtained from OpenStreetMap, due to its high quality in the polygonal representation of the buildings. It is assumed that the potential surface of rooftops is limited by the typical roof area ratio of the buildings according to typical residential morphologies [1]. The sewer system has been modelled through EPA SWMM [2]. The rooftops have been based on the model and parameters assessed in [3], being replaced a ratio of each building surface belonging to a subcatchment by the model using for that purpose the library swmmio [4]. Extensive simulations have been done for the different penetration ratios, evaluating the influence for different types of events (registered or historical and design events). The water quality improvements caused by the rooftops has been neglected, being the analysis focused only on the sewer overflow reduction, and specially the overflows to the harbour. Results and discussion: The effect can be quite relevant in lower rains, and negligible in greater events. Further analysis can be carried out to evaluate which areas of the city have a greater influence. This kind of analysis is relevant and should be a requireme

- Abstract

- Abstract
This Bachelor’s Thesis addresses the study of temperature gradients in photovoltaic modules and their impact on the performance of the installation. The primary objective of the research is to analyze how temperature changes influence the current and voltage characteristics (I-V curves) and, therefore, the output power of the photovoltaic modules. To carry out this study, simulation methods based on nonlinear equations that describe the electrical behavior of photovoltaic modules have been used. The I-V curves were evaluated at different operating temperatures, simulating real working conditions. The results show that temperature gradients have a significant effect on the efficiency of the modules, decreasing energy generation as the temperature increases. The conclusions of the study indicate that it is essential to consider temperature gradients in the design and installation of photovoltaic systems to maximize their performance. Additionally, some strategies are proposed to mitigate the negative effects of temperature and improve the overall efficiency of the system.

- Abstract
The liquid-to-solid phase transition is a complex process that is difficult to investigate experimentally with sufficient spatial and temporal resolution. A key aspect of the transition is the formation of a critical seed of the crystalline phase in a supercooled liquid, that is, a liquid in a metastable state below the melting temperature. This stochastic process is commonly described within the framework of classical nucleation theory, but accurate tests of the theory in atomic and molecular liquids are challenging. Here, we employ femtosecond x-ray diffraction from microscopic liquid jets to study crystal nucleation in supercooled liquids of the rare gases argon and krypton. Our results provide stringent limits to the validity of classical nucleation theory in atomic liquids, and offer the long-sought possibility of testing nonclassical extensions of the theory.

- Abstract
The rotational relaxation of CO2 by inelastic collisions has been studied in three supersonic jets. The jets were probed by means of Raman spectroscopy with high spectral and spatial resolutions, measuring the rotational populations and the total number density. The time evolution of the rotational populations was analyzed by means of a kinetic master equation, with the help of the energy-corrected sudden power law to relate the numerous state-to-state rate (STS rates) coefficients. In the thermal range investigated, 60-260 K, the STS rates decrease with increasing temperature and with increasing change in the rotational quantum number. Other quantities of interest for fluid dynamics, such as the rotational collision number, the relaxation cross section, and the bulk viscosity, have been derived from the STS rates.
