In modern conditions, the development of any industry directly depends on the provision of highly qualified labor resources. Due to the constant shortage of personnel, it is important for employers to implement systematic measures to attract, retain and optimally use the required specialists of various qualifications. It is these tasks that the enterprise solves when organizing personnel work in accordance with the basic principles and ideas of decent work. The construction industry in the Russian Federation is one of the most dynamically developing, making a significant contribution to the country’s GDP, but companies from this sector are faced with a global shortage of both labor and highly qualified specialists. It should also be noted that this sector is considered to be one of the most hazardous, injury-prone and requiring increased attention to occupational and labor safety. The purpose of the study is to identify a set of external and internal factors that determine the features of decent work management at enterprises in the construction industry. To achieve this goal, the methods of interdisciplinary analysis of scientific literature and the regulatory framework, economic analysis and analytical statistics were used. The application of counter modeling made it possible to decompose the theoretical model of decent work management and highlight the real conditions of the production, financial and socio-economic activities of enterprises in the construction complex. The results of the study are related to identifying the role of government policy, the labor market, general trends in the construction industry, vocational professional education, as well as personnel policies within the organization in the process of implementing the concept of decent work. The conclusions drawn may be of interest to managers of construction companies, and human resources and personnel management services for analyzing their own practices and carrying out measures to introduce the principles of decent work at individual enterprises in this economic sphere.

The idea for a better life of the present and future generations is the basis for the conception of sustainable development. Bulgaria, like every other country, is striving to reach such a development. The third sustainable development goal is ensuring healthy lives and promoting the well-being of the people. To analyze the achievement of this goal, Eurostat recommends an indicator set. The dynamics of these indicators for Bulgaria are studied in the present work and an aggregated indicator is composed. The calculated indicators are compared with the average values for the EU-27 countries. Bulgaria’s progress in terms of ensuring healthy lives and promoting the well-being of the people is assessed. Progress toward achieving SDG 6 (“Clean Water and Sanitation”) is monitored by means of thirteen global indicators. However, insufficient data from countries, including Russia, underscore the need to assess regional water supply as well as its effective and sustainable use. This study aims to comparatively assess water use in northern regions based on UN-defined sustainable development criteria, utilizing information from Rosstat, The National Information Agency “Natural Resources”, and the FAO’s Global Information System for the period from 2007 to 2020. The study is based on statistical and comparative analyses, the Decoupling Diamond model, and sustainability window (SuWi) analysis. Its findings indicate high water availability across all regions, aligning with the “low water stress” category under SDG 6.4.2 (threshold ≤25%). The Falkenmark water index shows that water availability doesn’t hinder economic growth in northern regions. Regional variations in water use across industries are discussed, which impact productivity (SDG indicator 6.4.1) and water intake intensity (water capacity of GRP). Water use productivity highlights the efficiency of recycled water, reducing intake and increasing productivity. Regions with low intake intensity (below 1.4 m3/thousand rubles, which is the target according to the Water Strategy) and high water capacity of the gross product were identified. Using the Decoupling Diamond model, the study assessed economic growth as a function of water use. The sustainability window method revealed environmental constraints on economic growth related to water use in northern regions. These results offer insights into water use in Arctic regions in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals and Water Strategy implementation. They are essential considerations for regional development programs.

Transportation is known as an important energy consumer, and achieving sustainable transportation implies controlling and improving the amount of energy consumption. So, a system for evaluating the urban transportation system based on the principles of sustainability can help to improve the economic, social and environmental indicators. This study was conducted with the aim of clarifying the place of energy consumption in the transportation evaluation model based on sustainable development indicators. This research is applied-developmental in terms of purpose, and in terms of the method and time period of data collection, it is considered a survey-cross-sectional research. Library studies and questionnaires were considered as data collection tools. In the qualitative section by searching, in the period from 2000 to 2023, 41 articles were selected and analyzed. Meta-composite analysis was used to identify the research categories and present the initial model, and 9 components and 53 indicators were identified. Validation and screening of indicators was done with Delphi technique. The participants of this section are 28 experts who were selected using the snowball pattern. Finally, 9 components and 49 indicators were confirmed. In the end, using the process of network analysis, the priority and weight of dimensions, components and indicators were determined. The findings showed that the environmental dimension has 45% and the economic dimension has 36% of the weight of the model. The social dimension is ranked third with 19%. The purpose of this study was to propose a combination of methods as part of the analysis of progress in the context of the achievement of one of the Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 12: responsible consumption and production) by Poland and Slovakia using sustainable development indicators. The method used was diagnostic survey, comparative analysis, and within the framework of data collection, the techniques of content analysis and desk research, which were integrally combined in the research procedure. The implementation of the analysis indicated that surveillance using sustainable development indicators is associated with difficulties (for example, gaps in the availability of standardized data and difficult access to adequate data) and generalizations and subjectivity. This analysis showed that the countries are successively striving to meet the provisions that are related to Goal 12. Estimates of the degree of achievement of the goal are adequate for the duration of the goal. Priority activities of the countries should focus on increasing the level of development of ecological agriculture, striving to increase the efficiency of use of available resources, changing the approach to available resources (moving away from linear development), and changing consumption patterns (increased development of a closed-loop economy). Future research areas will focus on analyzing the level of implications of the goals of Agenda 2030 in Poland and Slovakia and developing developmental forecasts for both countries. The purpose of this article is to provide a statistical analysis of the sustainable development indicators of the Russian Federation within the framework of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, in particular food security as it relates to Sustainable Development Goal 2 Eradicate hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture. The importance of solving the problem of food security and healthy nutrition is emphasized. In the course of scientific research, general and special methods of scientific knowledge were applied: analysis, synthesis and comparison, as well as statistical data analysis and visualization. Asian developing countries are frequently devastated by tropical cyclones. While the literature is replete with their impacts on economic growth, the impacts on critical sustainable development indicators, namely income inequality, health, and human capital accumulation, have seldom been explored. In this study, we measure the direct, indirect, and spillover impacts of tropical cyclones on the sustainable development of eight developing countries in Asia. This study uses the dynamic generalized method of moments model to estimate the impact of occurrences and casualties in these countries over 28 years. Our results indicate that recurrent tropical cyclones increase income inequality, reaching the threshold at 0.4 cyclone. The mortality rate tends to rise, which decreases after 2.5 cyclonic occurrences. Similarly, cyclones seem to initially reduce the expected years of schooling, which starts increasing after one cyclonic occurrence. These weakening impacts provide evidence of negative feedback loops. We also find evidence of domino effects and gender effects. The resilience factors are controlled for, as it helps the developing countries recover from the vicious cycles. The focus on sustainable development is increasing and it is given great importance. Sustainability be able to meet the needs of future generations and mitigate serious risks such as global warming. Cement is one of the building materials which no construction on the ground is possible to build. Cement production increases energy consumption and increases the production of greenhouse gases, especially carbon dioxide. In this experimental study, mechanical behaviour (compressive strength) and sustainable development indicators of cement mortar containing natural pozzolans consist of high silicate aluminate with different percentages (6, 13 and 20%) partially substitute with cement in mortars with 8 mix designs and variables were sand and water to cement ratio with strength of up to 13 MPa have been investigated. Findings showed that the use of 13% of natural pozzolans containing high silicate and aluminate as a cement substitute after 56-days of curing increased the compressive strength of mortar by 2.23% compared to the reference samples. In addition, the analysis and evaluation of sustainable development indicators of this mortar concludes that the optimal percentage of replacement with cement in the mortar, leads to a reduction in global warming potential and energy consumption by 13% in the production of one ton of cement in the conventional way. That plays a positive role to help climate change, reducing air pollution and reduce emission of greenhouse gases.

Urban transport system planning has been moving towards sustainability in recent years, and the concept of urban freight logistics is an integral part of this planning. Urban freight logistics involves many stakeholders that participate in its operation and should be considered in the system planning process. The paper presents one of the approaches to the methodology for the selection of key indicators suitable for the evaluation and monitoring of a sustainable system of urban freight logistics in such a way that it reflects as much as possible the needs of all involved stakeholders. This is done by applying the selected method of multi-criteria analysis with the involvement of various urban freight logistics stakeholders. Based on the proposed methodology, the paper defines significant indicators that can be considered for further evaluation of the level of a sustainable urban freight logistics system. In addition to the possibilities of further development of this methodology, the application of determined significant indicators for calculating the proposed index of sustainable urban freight logistics is discussed. The proposed procedure can be implemented in the preparatory steps in the framework of the creation of sustainable urban logistics plans (SULPs).

In the intelligent manufacturing environment, modern industry is developing at a faster pace, and there is an urgent need for reasonable production scheduling to ensure an organized production order and a dependable production guarantee for enterprises. Additionally, production cooperation between enterprises and different branches of enterprises is increasingly common, and distributed manufacturing has become a prevalent production model. In light of these developments, this paper presents the research background and current state of distributed shop scheduling. It summarizes relevant research on issues that align with the new manufacturing model, explores hot topics and concerns and focuses on the classification of distributed parallel machine scheduling, distributed flow shop scheduling, distributed job shop scheduling and distributed assembly shop scheduling. The paper investigates these scheduling problems in terms of single-objective and multi-objective optimization, as well as processing constraints. It also summarizes the relevant optimization algorithms and their limitations. It also provides an overview of research methods and objects, highlighting the development of solution methods and research trends for new problems. Finally, the paper analyzes future research directions in this field.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to perform an analysis of the essence and importance of the idea of sustainable development and an analysis of progress in meeting one of the Sustainable Development Goals in Poland and Slovakia using a system of indicators. The progress in implementing Sustainable Development Goal 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure) of the document "Transforming Our World: Agenda for Sustainable Development - 2030" was analyzed. Design/methodology/approach: Achieving the purpose of the study required a structured research methodology, which included a diagnostic survey method, comparative analysis, and content analysis and desk research techniques were used as part of data collection. Findings: The realization of the analysis of the level of fulfillment of Goal 9 of the 2030 Agenda made it possible to identify the difficulties that arise from the specifics of the adopted research method. With regard to the level of fulfillment of Goal 9, it was found that Poland and Slovakia are gradually meeting the set objectives. A critical area in relation to Slovakia's development is the aspect of inventive activity, i.e. the country's ability to use knowledge and research results to reap potential economic benefits. Research limitations/implications: Through the implementation of the proposed methodology for analyzing data for Poland and Slovakia in relation to Sustainable Development Goal 9 (industry, innovation and infrastructure), it was found that monitoring progress in meeting the provisions of the 2030 Agenda using the indicator method is fraught with the following difficulties: the need to standardize relevant data for EU countries, lack of access or difficult access to adequate data in individual countries, generalizations and subjectivity due to the specifics of the indicator method. Practical implications: The indicator analysis of the completed research procedure contributes to the accumulation of factual knowledge and the identification of development trends, which is the foundation for determining milestones and strategic plans for the implementation of the concept of sustainable development. Originality/value: The analyses presented here complete the research gap regarding the diagnosis and analysis of the level of fulfillment of one of the goals of sustainable development with its assumptions by Poland and Slovakia against the background of the European Union. The most important task of managing the region is its sustainable development. At the same time, it is considered as a complex of interrelated elements, each of which needs to be improved for its balanced functioning. However, the region is not a closed system, that is, it has economic ties with other territories, including foreign ones. Over the past decade, our country has faced sensational sanctions pressure, which has also affected the state of regional economies. The study of the consequences of sanctions imposed against Russia is of particular importance, as they allow us to identify the main directions of regional management to achieve economic security. When writing this paper, a statistical method was applied using data from official statistical reference books. In the paper, the author analyzes indicators directly related to foreign trade activities and falling under the influence of the macroeconomic situation. Based on this analysis, conclusions are drawn about the degree of influence of external sanctions on the economic development of the region. Analysis and synthesis, a historical method based on information from domestic and foreign publications were also applied. The author examines the modern features of managing the socio-economic development of the region, develops a classification of the limitations of regional development, reveals the main goals of sustainable development of the region, and provides a brief overview of the application of sanctions as an instrument of influence on the target country. The theoretical significance of the work consists in researching the impact of sanctions pressure on the regional development as in the case of the Tambov region. The practical significance of the study lies in the recommendations developed to improve the sustainability of the development of the Tambov region. According to the research results, it was revealed that the sanctions policy of Western countries has complicated the economic situation in the Tambov region, but the region continues to demonstrate high indicators of production and foreign trade activity. Nevertheless, in order to stabilize the further economic development of the region and in order to increase the competitiveness of the Tambov region in the domestic market, it is recommended to implement a number of measures proposed in this paper.

Using natural pozzolan materials to produce cement-based mortar is a suitable solution to reduce energy consumption and environmental impacts. In this experimental study, slump, compressive strength, water absorption, and sustainable development indicators statistical analysis of cement mortar containing natural pozzolans consist of high silicate aluminate with different percentages (6, 13 and 20%) substitute with cement in mortars were investigated. In this paper 8 mix designs including reference samples were compared, the main variations were pozzolan percentage replacement and sand granulation. Findings showed that the use of 13% of natural pozzolans containing high silicate and aluminate as a cement substitute after 56-days of curing increased the compressive strength of mortar by 2.23%, and decreases the water absorption of mortar 1.6% compared to the reference samples. In addition, the analysis and evaluation of sustainable development indicators of this mortar concludes that the optimal percentage of replacement with cement in the mortar, leads to a reduction in global warming potential and energy consumption by 13% in the production of one ton of cement in the conventional way. Sustainable development of a region requires sustainability of its rural parts, as a source of supplies and resources for the urbanized regions. The current climate changes, loss of biodiversity, limited resources, depopulation, deterioration of economic conditions or even poverty may limit the sustainable development of rural populations. This paper presents the study concerning assessment of sustainable development of rural areas in Poland since 2004, the date of Poland entrance to the European Union, in light of the selected Sustainable Development Indicators. The assessment was based on the set of 38 indicators covering environmental, social and economic pillars of sustainability. The results of this study indicate the significant progress in some aspects of rural development in Poland since 2004. However, several serious limits for rural sustainability were identified, including limited access to basic services including sanitation, anthropopressure on the natural environment, limited access to clear and renewable energy, depopulation, ageing, unfavorable economic conditions and relatively low productivity of agriculture. The irrational functioning of the food sector can negatively impact the environment and resources for future generations. The aim of this study is to analyse the assessment of sustainability indicators related to meal production processes and waste in the food service through a systematic literature review. The hypothesis is that these indicators are still little explored. This review was conducted according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analysis Protocols. The databases consulted were Lilacs, Science Direct, Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior, OpenGrey and Greylit. Six different search strategies were applied, combining the terms sustainability and food service, plus manual searches. The search took place until April 2020 and there was no language restriction of the studies. After removing duplicates, 770 publications were identified through the search process, with 44 having been included in this review. Most publications carried out the quantification of food waste (38/44), while in 7/44 there were questionnaires, checklists and water footprint assessments. Most studies identified high indicators of waste, as well as little awareness of sustainability. Factors such as controlled portioning, omnivorous menus and dissatisfaction with the menu were reported to have caused the greatest losses in the process. This review identified a restricted assessment of sustainability in food service, countering the need to deepen these indicators and the effect of meal production processes on sustainable development. Measuring the comparative level of urban sustainability is an important part of creating a sustainable urban future. This article assesses the sustainable development of the seventeen largest cities in Kazakhstan for 2007–2019 using a geodatabase on a GIS platform. The results show that none of the cities have reached a level of sustainability greater than or equal to a sustainable urban development index (SUDI) of 0.750, and no cities have an unsustainable level of development with a SUDI below 0.300. Therefore, all seventeen cities are classified as moderately sustainable. In future studies, the authors will look for ways to further improve the system for assessing the sustainability of cities in Kazakhstan.

In order to measure progress towards the aims outlined by the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda, data are needed for the different indicators that are linked to each UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). Where statistical or scientific data are not sufficient or available, alternative data sources, such as data from citizen science (CS) activities, could be used. Statistics Norway, together with the Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities, have developed a taxonomy for classifying indicators that are intended to measure the SDGs. The purpose of this taxonomy is to sort, evaluate, and compare different SDG indicators and to assess their usefulness by identifying their central properties and characteristics. This is done by organizing central characteristics under the three dimensions of Goal, Perspective, and Quality. The taxonomy is designed in a way that can help users to find the right indicators across sectors to measure progress towards the SDGs depending on their own context and strategic priorities. The Norwegian taxonomy also offers new opportunities for the re-use of data collected through CS activities. This paper presents the taxonomy and demonstrates how it can be applied for an indicator based on a CS data set, and we also suggest further use of CS data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Considering the settlement pattern in Slovenia, small towns with a population of 5,000 to 15,000 are very important for balanced regional and local development, especially for the achievement of sustainable development goals. This paper presents findings from a study of the level of sustainability in 32 Slovenian small towns, as assessed using a set of twelve economic, social, and environmental indicators of sustainable development. A comparison of the results for the years 2002 and 2018 shows that over the past two decades, Slovenian small towns have for the most part successfully advanced towards the goals of sustainable development. The small towns that lag behind in these efforts were identified, as were the development areas where sustainability trends are less favorable.

Abstract The transition to renewable energy sources remains a major challenge for developed and developing countries. Therefore, the study aims at investigating the relationship between sustainable development indicators and renewable energy consumption utilizing integrated data sets for 255 indicators expressing the sustainable development goals from 137 developed and developing countries. Principal component analysis then multiple linear regression tests are employed to conclude a mathematical model representing the numerical relationship between a set of sustainable development indicators and renewable energy consumption. The statistical analysis results include (i) an inverse correlation between Sustainable Development Index which expresses the dominant factor representing collected data and renewable energy consumption, (ii) a set of sustainable development indicators as the determinants of renewable energy consumption. The findings explain the rapid transformation of low Sustainable Development Index countries towards renewable energy technology by realizing the effective role of using renewable energy as a local solution. Moreover, the findings manifest the importance of the given sustainable development indicators in obtaining a more significant increase in renewable energy consumption. Using the concluded mathematical mode, planners and decision-makers can compromise the concluded indicators to attain a serious progressing step towards renewable energy transition aligned with achieving sustainable development.

Climate changes and the aggressive attitude towards the environment as a result of human activity in recent decades have had increasingly negative effects everywhere on a global scale, including in our country. Studies from recent years show that the process of transition to an ecological economy in Bulgaria is still quite inert and poorly effective. In the present study, the dynamics of a series of indicators for sustainable development and ecological economy, defined by Eurostat, have been analyzed. Trend models have been developed for the selected indicators concerning the 2010-2020 period and forecasts for their development with a 2-year horizon have been compiled. Abstract CONTEXT: There is a growing concern with the economic consumption and unlimited accumulation model because improvement in some parameters implies that others are negatively affected. There is a need for more intellectual wealth, not only oriented towards the market, but also towards engineering and technology. Methodology: To measure natural/environmental, human, intellectual, public/institutional, and private wealth, the basic results of the Índice de desarrollo territorial sustentable (IDTS, spanish acronyms) are used, which is formed by 60 variables. With data from the 2000-2010 period, the relationship between the 5 types of wealth and sustainability is analyzed using principal component analysis. Results: At the municipal and departmental levels, the direction of the natural and environmental wealth was found to be opposite direction to the other four. The distance between the different types of wealth ended up being important, and it increases with the IDTS. Conclusions: The development model followed by Colombia is negatively affecting the natural and environmental wealth and as so is unsustainable. Neither research nor innovation are making adequate use of the natural resources at municipal level, and autonomous regional corporations may be ineffective against the inadequate use of this wealth. It is imperative to modify this exploitation model and reduce the distance between the five types of wealth. Although it is necessary to adopt and develop engineering and technology adequate to biodiversity and tropical geography, this is not enough; substantial social and institutional innovation are also needed in the face of a complex, uncertain, and dizzying technological reality, which is also inequitable at the social and interregional scale. This paper addresses the need to understand the structure of sustainability change in the face of the unpredictability of modern civilization. The aim of the paper is to examine the structure of sustainability change in relation to smaller spatial units such as the regions of the European Union and to compare these results with those achieved at the country level. For this purpose, the sustainable development indicators available in the Eurostat database were analyzed. Studies published to date have tended to focus on the performance of national economies or selected regions. In this article, the available data on regions are also analyzed. The study aims to compare the level of sustainable development achieved at the level of EU countries and regions located within them. Methodologically, the study uses advanced methods of comparative analysis, and the synthesis of the data enables the construction of a synthetic measure using taxonomic methods, facilitating the classification of EU countries and regions into clusters. The results highlight significant divergences in sustainability achievements between EU countries and regions. The study reveals the importance of studying sustainable development in smaller geographical cross-sections. The results highlight the need to expand access to data at the regional level (sustainability indicators) to facilitate more comprehensive analyses and inform targeted policy interventions. Sustainable development of a region requires sustainability of its rural parts, as a source of supplies and resources for the urbanized regions. The current climate changes, loss of biodiversity, limited resources, depopulation, deterioration of economic conditions or even poverty may limit the sustainable development of rural populations. This paper presents the study concerning assessment of sustainable development of rural areas in Poland since 2004, the date of Poland entrance to the European Union, in light of the selected Sustainable Development Indicators. The assessment was based on the set of 38 indicators covering environmental, social and economic pillars of sustainability. The results of this study indicate the significant progress in some aspects of rural development in Poland since 2004. However, several serious limits for rural sustainability were identified, including limited access to basic services including sanitation, anthropopressure on the natural environment, limited access to clear and renewable energy, depopulation, ageing, unfavorable economic conditions and relatively low productivity of agriculture.

Introdução: O Design Universal surge como conceito na década de 1980, porém fatores sociais ligados ainda ao pós-segunda guerra mundial influíram significativamente na legislação dos direitos de pessoas com deficiência. Em sua aplicação o Design Universal se concentra como processo de democratização dos valores de usabilidade no processo conceptivo e produtivo de ambientes, espaços, objetos e informações, seguindo por princípio a identificação dos fatores essenciais da usabilidade para uma maior diversidade de pessoas. Sabe-se que historicamente as pessoas com deficiência, foram relegadas do espaço público, devido a diversos fatores tais como preconceitos, estigmatização e discriminação. A ausência de compreensão da singularidade dos seres humanos, das potencialidades e fragilidades de cada qual, relacionada à curva de Gauss, perpetua uma visão não inclusiva e acessível, fazendo com que as pessoas com deficiência tenham dificuldades de vivenciar a complexidade do meio urbano - escadas, calçadas íngremes, ausência de calçadas, dentre outras, são as barreiras arquitetônicas mais comumente encontradas. Objetivo: Descrever o design universal como uma prática possibilitadora de qualidade de vida para as pessoas com deficiência. Método: Trata-se de uma revisão da literatura integrativa de estudos publicados nos últimos 10 anos, listados nas bases de dados SciELO e Google Acadêmico, realizada em novembro de 2021 utilizando a pergunta norteadora: Como o design universal pode fomentar qualidade de vida às pessoas com deficiência? Usou-se para pesquisa os descritores “Design Universal”, “Pessoa com Deficiência”, “Qualidade de vida”. Os critérios de inclusão foram: artigos de revisão completos em português, classificados por relevância. Foram excluídos artigos fora da temática e duplicados. No SciELO não houve nenhum artigo indexado, enquanto no Google Acadêmico, totalizaram-se 15 artigos encontrados, sendo 2 selecionados para esse estudo. Resultados: Dos 2 artigos analisados, nota-se ausência de dados que possam vir a corroborar de forma significativa na resposta à pergunta norteadora, o que pressupõe-se que a temática tem sido pouco explorada de forma diretiva. Entre os 12 artigos que não relacionam à temática de qualidade de vida e design universal para pessoas com deficiência; 4 expuseram de forma significativa a relação de qualidade de vida e design universal; e 5 a relação entre design universal e pessoas com deficiência. Mesmo que todos os artigos não expressem uma relação fortalecida entre design universal, qualidade de vida e pessoa com deficiência, percebe-se que tais materiais abordam a aplicação de dispositivos e concepções para amplitude da utilização de ambientes e objetos, em busca de alcançar uma maior a qualidade de vida das pessoas envolvidas. Conclusões: Dado que o design universal engendra-se como um conceito inclusivo nas formas em que se apresenta os objetos e espaços, nota-se um respeito pela diversidade humana, promovendo inclusão dos indivíduos em suas cotidianas atividades, o que é de grande contribuição para a vida das pessoas com deficiência. Assim, os autores destacam o design universal como uma ferramenta potente para promover a funcionalidade dos ambientes e objetos, ao qual pode possibilitar a autonomia dos seres, a independência para os usos e assim sendo, contribui-se na qualidade de vida da população.

Abstract Introdução: A diálise peritoneal (DP) é importante para a pediatria. Este estudo mostrou dados de centros brasileiros que utilizam DP pediátrica. Método: Estudo transversal, observacional, descritivo com questionário eletrônico. Incluiu-se pacientes de 0-18 anos em DP cadastrados nos bancos de dados dos diversos centros. Questionário preenchido anonimamente, sem dados de identificação. Foi adotada metodologia quantitativa. Resultados: 212 pacientes estão em DP no Brasil (agosto, 2021). 80% têm menos de 12 anos de idade. A maioria realiza DP automatizada e 74% são dependentes do Sistema Único de Saúde. Em 25% dos centros faltou material de DP e em 51% os pacientes pediátricos foram convertidos de DP para HD. Conclusão: A maioria dos pacientes tinha menos de 12 anos e era dependente do SUS. A escassez de insumos aconteceu em 25% dos centros. Esses dados apontam para o problema da sustentabilidade de DP, única alternativa de TRS em crianças muito pequenas.

The present sustainable metropolitan cities and the urban planning procedures in Libya are mainly aimed at reducing the impact on the environment due to the use of resources and improving life quality. Thus, the primary objective of this investigation is to create a model that focuses on reliable and valid urban planning of sustainable development, which highly reflects the Islamic way of live concerning the Libyan cities. The projected study model was tested experimentally using a review of 307 suitable samples, which included urban planning associated parties/industries, like the governmental institutions, academic research institutes, developer consultants, and planning and design engineers. Moreover, evaluations were done using the statistical software package Smart-PLS 2.0. The outcome shows that Libyan urban cities should comprise four major elements: social sustainability, environmental sustainability, economic sustainability, and institutional markers. The indicators for every element are studied in detail later in this investigation, which contributed significantly to gaining a better insight into the model for urban planning of sustainable development concerning the Libyan cities. The results provide useful insights for the urban planning industry in order to introduce the UPSD (Urban Planning of Sustainable Development) model, which is helpful as a strategy for Libyan organizations, urban planning contribution, and development to improve Libyan cities. Also, UPSD can be used to assess developed urban areas to analyze the quality of those areas and finally indicate the areas of enhancement. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In order to measure progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, 169 targets have been approved globally. Even though interest in implementing these goals is high, many states have not yet established a set of subnational indicators to measure the implementation of the SDGs and have not completed their own assessment of progress in achieving these global goals. This study aims to measure the progress toward achieving the SDG at local and regional level in Romania by calculating the SDG Index. For the calculation of the SDG Index at subnational level, we propose an integrated approach based on 90 indicators, stored and processed in a PostgreSQL object‐relational database. The results show the concentration of the highest performances of sustainable development in some specific geographical areas. The rural areas and the extended peripheral regions in the eastern and southern part of the country are the poorest performers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article contextualizes the smart cities paradigm in the panorama of contemporary city challenges, which increasingly encompasses the pursuit of sustainable development goals and the need to incorporate urban resilient behaviors, mainly in response to the impacts of climate change. Such a scenario also comprises the interpretation of smart cities as tools to assist policymakers and city administrators in directing solutions based on emerging information and communication technologies (ICTs) to the materialization of urban strategic plans addressing these confrontations. There are, however, no established indicator systems that attest to the substantiation of such plans by smart city solutions, nor to their alignment with the goals of urban sustainable development. Therefore, an analytical framework is proposed here to address this knowledge gap. It enables guiding the leverage of smart cities’ ICTs, not only for the achievement of economic goals, a feature intrinsic to smart city innovations, but also to reach other sustainability dimensions, as the environmental, social, institutional and cultural. To this end, generic sustainability indicator frameworks and also a set of smart city indicators are explored. They are examined as potential sources of specific taxonomies in smart city services for urban sustainable development. From this compilation of options, the Dashboard of Sustainability, once one of the indicator systems most recommended by experts, is revisited. It is adapted as a framework for analyzing and helping to maintain the strategic targeting of smart city solutions, during their entire lifecycle, at sustainability. To complete the qualitative-analytical-taxonomic frame, the services offered by a real smart city solution, the Rio de Janeiro Center of Operations, are employed as a model. This allows investigating its 9-year transition from a wider, larger capacity, strategic and innovative configuration in orientation towards sustainability perspectives, to a more narrow, operational composition, that is predominantly devoted to the economic dimension.

Background and objectives: Sustainable development refers to the process of development that, while meeting the current needs of society, can provide the needs of future generations without any reduction in their ability to meet their needs. The Sustainable Development Program through its 17 defined goals covers a wide range of human activities in economic, social, and environmental dimensions. The present study set out with the aim of assessing the Iran's sustainable development indicators in two parts of population and health that in turn affect different dimensions of economic, social and human development. Methods: A documentary methodology was adopted in this research. Indicators related to the population and health targets were selected and have been analyzed by comparing the country with the international average and the countries of the region. The required information was compiled from international references and reports, including the World Bank and the Statistics Organization of Iran. Results: The average population growth rate in Iran fairly equals the world average and most countries. Compared to the most of the communities, Iran has a better status than the world average in terms of population and health-related indicators of sustainable development, and is among the high-income and upper middle-income countries. Also, in some indices such as vaccination coverage, diabetes and high mortality rates from accidents Iran has the highest score and also the lowest rate in the world with regard to the infection rate. There is no favorable situation regarding environmental issues. Conclusion: Although Iran shows a better status than the world average in most of the population and health related indicators of sustainable development, the country's environmental issues, the aging population structure and its consequences, death from accidents will be a major challenge for the future, which will require rapid and effective management measures in this area.

In the recent years, mankind has actually formed a concept of development - that including the economic one - up to 2030. As the base model adopted was the sustainable development, as the new type of economy - the economy with clear environmental priorities. At the heart of these provisions are the decisions of the UN conferences, associated with the adoption of sustainable development goals (SDGs) (2015), the approval of a new plan to combat global climate change (2015), the implementation of the green economy model as the basis for the transition to sustainable development (2012). The article analyzes the UN Millennium Development Goals, which are the precursors of the SDGs, showing the possibility of their adaptation and use in Russia.The authors argue that to overcome the crisis and to implement the long-term problems in Russia the priority objectives should be the following: the transition to sustainable development; the change of raw materials export model to a model with a «green» features; the development of human capital.

The article deals with the new challenges of transition to sustainable development in the world and Russia. Analyzes the long-term goals of sustainable development for Russia, the role of ecosystem services in the world and the country, indicators of sustainable development, the transition to green economy. For greater stability, you can not increase the amount of natural resources and at the same time increase the level of material well-being of the population due to the policy of “win-win” and the decoupling effect. The country needs a federal compensation ecological and economic mechanism that would take into account the value of regional ecosystems and their ecosystem services for the country and all mankind. It is important to support the transition to a model of green economy, which is largely due to the economic modernization objectives. Taking into account national priorities and features Russia needs to develop a system of sustainable development indicators.
