Abstract

In recent years, smart contracts have suffered major exploits, cost- ing millions of dollars. Unlike traditional programs, smart contracts are deployed on a blockchain. As such, they cannot be modified once deployed. Though various tools have been proposed to detect vulnerable smart contracts, the majority fails to protect vulnera- ble contracts that have already been deployed on the blockchain. Only very few solutions have been proposed so far to tackle the issue of post-deployment. However, these solutions suffer from low precision and are not generic enough to prevent any type of attack. In this work, we introduce ÆGIS, a dynamic analysis tool that protects smart contracts from being exploited during runtime. Its capability of detecting new vulnerabilities can easily be extended through so-called attack patterns. These patterns are written in a domain-specific language that is tailored to the execution model of Ethereum smart contracts. The language enables the description of malicious control and data flows. In addition, we propose a novel mechanism to streamline and speed up the process of managing attack patterns. Patterns are voted upon and stored via a smart contract, thus leveraging the benefits of tamper-resistance and transparency provided by the blockchain. We compare ÆGIS to current state-of-the-art tools and demonstrate that our solution achieves higher precision in detecting attacks. Finally, we perform a large-scale analysis on the first 4.5 million blocks of the Ethereum blockchain, thereby confirming the occurrences of well reported and yet unreported attacks in the wild.

11. LncRNA PRNCR1 aggravates the malignancy of oral squamous cell carcinoma by regulating miR-326/FSCN1 axis.

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: The important regulatory mechanism of lncRNA PRNCR1 has been emphasized in malignant tumors. However, the role of lncRNA PRNCR1 remains unclear in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). The purpose of this study is to reveal the role of lncRNA PRNCR1 in OSCC. PATIENTS AND METHODS: RT-qPCR was used to detect mRNA expression. The functional mechanism of lncRNA PRNCR1 in OSCC was investigated by CCK-8, transwell and Luciferase reporter assays. RESULTS: LncRNA PRNCR1 was upregulated in OSCC and promoted cell proliferation, migration and invasion. LncRNA PRNCR1 directly binds to miR-326. The mutual inhibition between the expressions of lncRNA PRNCR1 and miR- 326 was identified in OSCC. In addition, miR-326 restrained cell proliferation, migration and invasion in OSCC. Further, miR-326 directly targets FSCN1. FSCN1 expression was positively regulated by lncRNA PRNCR1 in OSCC. And FSCN1 promoted the progression of OSCC and aggravated the carcinogenic effect of lncRNA PRNCR1 in OSCC. CONCLUSIONS: LncRNA PRNCR1 promotes the progression of OSCC by functioning as a miR-326 ‘sponge’ to upregulate FSCN1 expression. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

13. Methadone maintenance treatment programme reduces criminal activity and improves social well-being of drug users in China: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: Methadone maintenance treatment (MMT) has been implemented in China since 2004 and has expanded into a nationwide programme. This study aims to evaluate changes in social functioning, family relations and drug-related criminal behaviour among MMT clients in China. DESIGN: Systematic review and meta-analysis. METHODS: Both English and Chinese literature databases, including PubMed, Chongqing VIP Chinese Science and Technology Journals Database (CQVIP), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Wanfang Data, were comprehensively searched over the period 2004-2014 for studied indicators. Study selection, quality assessment and data extraction were conducted according to the PRISMA (preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses) Statement. Meta-analyses were conducted using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis Biostat software. RESULTS: Thirty-eight articles were included in this review (1 in English and 37 in Chinese). The self-reported arrest rate decreased from 13.1% (95% CI 9.1% to 18.5%) at baseline to 3.4% (95% CI 1.5% to 7.7%) and 4.3% (95% CI 1.6% to 11.4%) after 6 and 12 months of MMT intervention, respectively. The rate of drug selling decreased from 7.6% (95% CI 3.8% to 14.8%) at baseline to 1.9% (95% CI 0.6% to 6.2%) and 3.0% (95% CI 1.0% to 8.9%) after 6 and 12 months of intervention, respectively. Similarly, the rates of selling sex for drugs and drug-related crime decreased from 5.3% (95% CI 2.4% to 11.1%) and 9.9% (95% CI 6.8% to 14.2%) at baseline to 1.1% (95% CI 0.5% to 2.3%) and 3.4% (95% CI 2.5% to 4.5%) at 6 months, then to 0.8% (95% CI 0.3% to 1.9%) and 3.4% (95% CI 0.8% to 13.1%) at 12 months after treatment initiation, respectively. In contrast, the rate of employment of clients and the proportion of clients having a good relationship with their family increased substantially from 26.4% (95% CI 22.9% to 30.1%) and 37.9% (95% CI 32.0% to 44.2%) to 41.6% (95% CI 36.6% to 48.0%) and 59.6% (95% CI 48.1% to 70.2%) at 6

17. Clinical analysis of 59 children with hand foot and mouth diseases due to enterovirus EV71 and concomitant viral encephalitis.

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To analyzed the clinical features of children with HFMD and viral encephalitis and to summarize some treatments. PATIENTS AND METHODS: A total of 59 children with HFMD were included in this study. All children underwent complete blood count, blood biochemical test cerebrospinal fluid examination, chest X-ray and brain MRI. RESULTS: One child died 24 hours after admission due to central respiratory failure with myocardial damage. After the treatment, 58 children had normal temperature, resolved rash, normal complete blood count, biochemical blood tests and cerebrospinal fluid test, respiratory and circulatory symptoms and signs, as well as neurological symptoms, disappeared. The hospitalization time was 12-21 days. After follow-up for 1-3 months, all children were recovered, and without any severe sequelae. CONCLUSIONS: HFMD and the complicated viral encephalitis usually occurred in the children < 3 years old. The clinical manifestations were not typical. Monitoring of the child's clinical symptoms, signs and relevant examinations was required. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Rotor-stator interaction has been identified as the dominant noise source of the Mupod, a vertical take-off and landing aircraft, developed by Entecho, a WA company. This paper reports field measurement results of blade passing noise of the Mupod together with its analysis and control. The blade passing event was simulated in a wind tunnel experiment. The flow speed, rotor blade position and rotor stator blade spacing were varied while the chord-wise pressure distribution of the leading surface of the rotor blade was measured by an array of 6 flush mounted microphones. The features of the pressure distribution on the rotor blade influenced by an upstream stator blade were used for the qualitative analysis of the sound radiation from the Mupod. The result of the reduction of the blade passing noise using angled stator blades is also presented. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The RFID information system that integrated into semiconductor industry including inventory management, location control and handcar localization. This research focused on cassette management in semiconductor industry. The management enters the data warehouse management from a semiconductor company to the semiconductor company. Based on RFID technology, label information where located on each cassette will be passed to the backend database system. Through RFID technology information, this system presents the RFID label information for the user to achieve tracing purpose. The result unified the RFID and the semiconductor system to establish a set of immediate information management system. Through the RFID technology and flows integration, the RFID system reduced the data warehouse working-hour and increased efficiency in wip production line. Abstract

The reaction of 1,3-diisopropylimidazolium salt with (Ind)2Ni results in the synthesis of 1,3-diisopropylimidazol-2-ylidene complexes of (Ind)Ni(L)X [Ind = indenyl; L = 1,3-diisopropylimidazole-2-ylidene; X = Cl (1), Br (2)], which were characterized by elemental analysis, NMR, and X-ray crystal determination. The complexes in combination with MMAO can catalyze the dimerization of ethylene with a high selectivity.
