The current university standards of research productivity focus on commercially adopted innovations in various industries. However, as a newly instated university in the Philippines, the Sorsogon State University’s research outputs in various disciplines are still lacking the necessary technology readiness level (TRL) that the industry requires. This descriptive method of research using correlation design utilized archival sources to determine the association between the faculty profile and the TRL of research outputs of the university. It was found that more than half of the 194 regular faculty members are specializing in soft sciences which resulted in the dominance of the basic type of research (250 out of 296) conducted from 2015 to 2020. Using the nine-point National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) scale, the study revealed the right-skewed distribution of TRL assessment of faculty research outputs by area of specialization, almost all reaching TRL 1-4 and were not transferred to the intended beneficiaries. Factors such as academic rank, area of expertise, and highest educational attainment of faculty members were significantly associated with the TRL of their research outputs. Faculty members with the appropriate expertise and education preparation may be given the opportunity to collaborate with potential industry partners as part of the reengineering process of the university’s research function. University libraries play a vital role in the academic landscape by providing a wide range of essential support and services to their members. From research materials and academic resources to access to cutting-edge technology and expert staff, these libraries are at the forefront of fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and innovation both within their physical spaces and online. Their importance extends beyond the academic environment, as they are also expected to contribute to the development of their respective countries by providing the resources and tools necessary to support a strong and thriving knowledge economy. The objective of this research is to provide a detailed analysis of the situation and challenges experienced by university libraries in Türkiye. This study utilized descriptive and documentary scanning methods to analyze and interpret data obtained from a wide range of both domestic and foreign literature, as well as official primary documents and media. The scope of the study was determined by historical, managerial, legal, and technological problems faced by Türkiye's university libraries. To ensure systematic integrity, the study grouped various dimensions thought to have a direct or indirect impact on university libraries in Türkiye under different headings. These headings, which constitute the scope of the study, include: "Legislation, organization, and administrative structure"; "Policy, regulations, and standards"; "Budget, building, collection management, human resources, user-related matters, and other relevant issues"; "Collaborations", and "Information and communication technologies". By taking into account the historical context, this study aims to offer a comprehensive understanding of the issues that these libraries have faced and continue to face in the present day. The findings of this research indicate that the challenges encountered by university libraries in the past have yet to be effectively addressed and resolved. The study's methodical, multifaceted, and multidimensional approach to evaluating university libraries, both in the historical context and current situation, presents a unique perspective. The comprehensive and in-depth evaluation process applied in this study is unparalleled and distinguishes it from prior studies in the field. This descriptive research investigates the degree of flexible leadership employed by institutional leaders amidst the emerging and anticipated shocks in the context of a higher education institution (HEI) in the Philippines. Eight (8) college deans and 143 faculty members assessed the implementation of flexible leadership in all five (5) campuses. Through a survey, variables of flexible leadership were considered high: building commitment to core ideology; building capable leadership; involvement and empowerment; keeping communication lines open; using reward system to support multiple objectives; and encouraging and exemplifying leadership by examples. Notably, a flexible leader understands the university's objectives, priorities, and strategies (M=4.57), builds and supports its values system (M=4.51), and understands that faculty members are the university's most valuable asset (M=4.50). Through interview protocols and triangulation, there were facets to be focused on like holding regular forums to discuss issues and changes, encouraging an open-door policy to increase access to information, and ensuring that faculty members not only understand what is expected of them but are committed to doing it. Flexible leadership can be nurtured and this implies commitment, credibility, and consistency among institutional leaders to reap more academic successes amidst the challenges faced by an HEI.

With the advent of technology, many learners have become dependent on gadgets in terms of entertainment, business, information, communication, etc., including spelling, meaning, and usage of words. The government had spent much to enhance the country's educational system over a long period. Yet, there are still learners, especially the students who are taking education courses, who are poor at using the language, specifically English. The result showed that the majority of the respondents were female (71, or 67.65%), BEEd total of 56 or 69.14%, had the age bracket between 20-21 years old, total of 39 or 48.15%. The grammar score of the respondents showed that only ten were considered as outstanding in their score, and almost one-half of the respondents described as satisfactory while others were described as fair and poor, which has a negative result. The majority of grammar errors and issues reflected most in the spelling correction as rank number one and using of determiners in grammar as rank number two committed by the respondents in writing essays. In the era of internationalization, Philippine higher education institutions (HEIs) are compelled to continually refine their operations and governance to align with global standards. This descriptive cross-sectional survey research was conducted to assess the extent of practices and preparations for internationalization at a state university in Central Luzon, Philippines. The study engaged four administrators and 21 faculty members as respondents, collectively offering a perspective on the university's approach to internationalization. The study reveals that the university has initiated practices and preparations geared towards internationalization. Nonetheless, it is evident that there is room for further enhancement of its strategic directions and plans to more comprehensively integrate internationalization into its academic programs, policies, and administrative processes. This paradigm shift will require a measured, time-sensitive approach to ensure that the university meets its internationalization goals successfully. To expedite this process, the university administration could proactively take the lead in championing and facilitating internationalization efforts. This proactive leadership is pivotal in building a culture of global engagement, forging international partnerships, and positioning the university as a frontrunner in the international academic landscape. The purpose of this research is to determine the effects of abusive supervision on knowledge sharing and concealment with the mediating role of Islamic work ethics. The statistical population of this research was all the employees of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari universities, whose number is 2255 people, according to the size of each region, a sample size of 660 people was selected using Cochran's formula, and the sample people were selected using the stratified sampling method. They were chosen according to the volume of each floorAnd the data analysis was done at the inferential level, including the modeling of structural equations, and the data analysis was done with the help of structural equations in Warp software. The results of the research showed that abusive supervision through Islamic work ethics has a negative and significant effect on knowledge sharing, and the coefficient of this effect is 0.22, and abusive supervision through Islamic work ethics has a positive and significant effect on knowledge concealment, which coefficient is 0.22. Being a happy student during unprecedented times depends on coping behavior that lessens their anxiety level while learning. This article stresses to explain the level of happiness and coping behavior amid the COVID-19 pandemic while learning mathematics online. The study also determines the different factors of happiness and coping behavior using a statistical model. Primary data were gathered through a Google form survey of 233 students at Visayas State University during the second semester of the academic year 2021-2022. Results showed that students are moderately happy and coping with learning mathematics amid the challenges they have experienced in distance learning. The findings revealed that the students’ happiness level is dependent on their coping strategies in learning. Hence, students coping behavior in the learning process will positively influence their well-being and cognitive thinking. The regression model (I) reveals that the factor of being a happy student in learning mathematics is to have an older age or more experience. In addition, students are happy if their teachers are helping them with their learning activities online. Meanwhile, the regression model (II) depicted that the students’ coping behavior is influenced by study habits, money spent on their internet load, teacher support, and teachers’ strategies on how the learning environment is comfortable. Hence, teachers must develop a positive attitude towards their students and give them activities that are suitable and appropriate for online learning. Furthermore, it is recommended that the mathematics curriculum must be enhanced concerning distance education and students’ well-being.

Headlines are important parts of any news and newspaper. They serve as an overview of the story or article. This study aims to describe and analyze the news headlines of the past 5 issues of the school publication in one of the state universities in Region III, Philippines. Specifically, it focuses on the types of grammatical structures are used in the headline writing; patterns that the headlines observe; semantic categories of the headwords of the headlines; reasons why the headlines framed the way they appear in the newspaper; and implications of the results to future journalism training and campus paper publication. The study is a sequential explanatory type of research that used the Fair clough theory to analyze the previous issues of the newspaper. After which, the results were presented to the two (2) advisers of the newspaper who served as the participants during the interview. It was found out that the last five issues of the student publication of a university in the Philippines commonly used clausal headlines, Subject-Verb Phrase-Direct Object clausal pattern, Headword-Post modifier phrasal headlines, and proper names for the headwords of the headlines. The participants of the study explained that the patterns were adopted for clarity, comprehensiveness, getting the reader's attention, conciseness, and identification. Therefore, it is recommended that continuous training must be given to the student writers to be able to be abreast of other styles and techniques so that they can present news in a comprehensive, clear, concise, and attractive way. Although research has shown that students benefit from visiting office hours in areas ranging from academic performance to strengthened relationships with peers and faculty, many choose never to attend office hours at all. An outgrowth of a state university's graduation initiative that focused on student retention, this pilot study was conducted in one professor's business law classes over a two-year period. This study investigated whether offering a small incentive would improve student attendance at office hours and lead to student success benefits identified in previous studies. This study investigates the levels of foreign language reading anxiety among EFL students at a state university in Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia, to identify the main factors contributing to this anxiety. The study included 30 participants who provided data through two questionnaires. The first questionnaire utilized the Foreign Language Reading Anxiety Scale (FLRAS) to assess anxiety levels, while the second questionnaire aimed to determine the primary factor behind this anxiety. The results indicated that 67% of the students experienced moderate anxiety, 20% experienced high levels, and 13% reported low anxiety. The study identified two main factors influencing foreign language reading anxiety: text features and personal factors. Text features encompassed unfamiliar vocabulary, topics, and culture, while personal factors included concerns about the effect of reading and fear of making errors. The second questionnaire revealed that unfamiliar language ranked as the most dominant factor, followed by concerns about the impact of reading, unfamiliar topics, fear of making errors, and unfamiliar culture. Recognizing that reading anxiety is a common experience among language learners is essential. However, with the proper support and guidance, students can overcome these challenges and succeed in their English language learning journey.

Every higher education institution (HEI) needs to monitor the employability status of its graduates as this reflects the quality education that HEIs provide to their students. In this study, a retrospective approach was used to analyze the employment status of graduates of a state university in the Philippines from 2015 to 2019. A data mining procedure was adopted to obtain necessary data and analysis. It was hypothesized in the study that the employment rates are the same across programs per year. Also, the employment rates from 2015 to 2019 are the same as the targeted employment rate in the strategic plan of the university. Statistical treatments such as mean, median, and standard deviation, Shapiro-Wilk test, and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used to test the hypothesis. Results show that the employment rate of graduates of 2015-2019 is in the high-level category and significantly higher than the targeted employment rate in the university strategic plan. Similarly, findings show significant differences in the employability rates of graduates considering the programs they enrolled in. On the contrary, no significant difference in the employment rate of graduates per year graduated. The study concluded that the university is consistent in producing employable graduates. The current undertaking aimed to trace the employability of Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Science in Psychology graduates of a State University in Central Luzon, Philippines from 2005 to 2020. Descriptive-quantitative research design was utilized in order to describe and trace the participants' demographic profile, employment status, and their professional development. Graduates' personal, educational and employment background, as well as their perception to the relevance of the baccalaureate degree in their employment were collected using a survey-questionnaire anchored from CHED's graduate tracer instrument. The study gathered data from 173 graduates through convenience sampling. Electronic survey forms were used in gathering the data and utilized SPSS version 23 for statistical analysis. Consequently, the collected data revealed that 94.7% of the participants were employed and 67% of them perceived that their degree is relevant to their employment. Lastly, the graduates reported that communication skills were the main contributory skill to their employment developed by their respective programs, while collaborative skills were the most useful. Favorable work experiences are vital in becoming efficient in functioning at a University. Henceforth, it is crucial to determine some factors that might improve the employees’ work experiences. This study aims to develop statistical models to elucidate the various determinants of work experiences among employees at Visayas State University, Philippines. Secondary data were utilized consisting of the different work experiences and their possible determinants. Descriptive statistics and regression analysis were employed to summarize and predict influencing determinants of work experiences. Results revealed that working at a University is challenging. Regression models have shown that teaching is more logical compared to administrative work and male workers are more likely to enjoy their job compared to female employees. Moreover, income, fair administration, opportunities for promotion, and awards are positively influencing the employees’ work experiences at the university. Furthermore, results revealed that overtime pay is a good remuneration that makes employees feel that their work is rewarding. Hence, to increase employees’ satisfaction and improve their well-being, the university may provide incentives or benefits for their extra service. Recognition or awards may also be provided for the meritorious performance of employees to motivate them in doing their best.

Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK) started to publish University Monitoring and Evaluation General Reports since 2019. Three reports (2019-2020-2021) have been published. Average annual data of state and private universities in Turkey are available in these reports. These reports also include data about various aspects of university education under the titles of Instruction and Research & Development (R&D). This study aims to determine pros and cons of state and private universities for Turkish and international university applicants by comparing the data averages of the 2019, 2020 and 2021 reports about the Instruction and the Research & Development (R&D) of both university types. Under the Instruction title; data about number of accredited undergraduate programs, occupancy rate of the programs, number of students participating in teknokent (technopole) or technology transfer office (TTO) projects, number of programs in the top 5% of the public servant selection exam (KPSS), number of international symposiums, congresses or artistic exhibitions, number of social responsibility projects implemented by students, number of industrial projects implemented by students and number of printed books and e-publications for each student were examined. Under the Research & Development title; data about number of publications published in national peer-reviewed journals and in SCI, SCI-Expanded, SSCI and AHCI indexed journals, number of cited publications in the top 10%, number of applied and granted patents, utility models and designs, number of R&D projects supported by national and international institutions and organizations, ratio of investment budget spent on R&D, income except for subsidy, innovation and product development income from laboratory services within the scope of R&D and number of joint projects with industry were examined. Document analysis method was used in the study as a qualitative research method. Document analysis includes the analysis of written materials containing information about the phenomenon or facts to be investigated. In the field of education: Textbooks, instructional regulations, internal and external correspondence, official documents... can be used as data source (Yıldırım and Şimşek, 2013, pp.217-218). Data averages of state and private universities were evaluated. Data differences among universities in same category were not included. The results shows that both state and private universities have pros and cons in terms of instruction and R&D, but state universities are advantageous regarding data numbers and diversity. The communication and information openness era, which has become increasingly massive after the COVID-19 Pandemic, has encouraged open relations between the community and state universities in education programs, especially budget management. This study aims to analyze the determination of state university budget management in terms of budget realization, the role of technology, and public information disclosure. This study raises the dimensions of the variable position of technology, perceptions of budget realization, public information disclosure, principles of general financial management, transparency, and accountability concerning managing state finances in universities. Convenience sampling became the technique chosen for sampling and was further analyzed with the SEM-PLS procedure through the SmartPLS application with 237 respondents. This study found the effect of budget realization and public information disclosure in fulfilling the principles of positive public financial management. However, this study does not support the role of technology in supporting the principles of public financial management. This study also notes the positive influence of public financial management principles on state universities' transparency and accountability. This study highlights the maximum future strengthening of higher education budget management with the organizational commitment of higher education institutions under the strict supervision of the government and the community indirectly. Technology does not support it, but it impacts the public in tracing information on Higher Education budget management according to the mandate of various parties, including the Indonesian Supreme Audit Institution.

Los criterios de evaluación que utilizan los Comités de Ética de Investigación provienen de estudios en medicina, y desde sus fuentes y experiencias algunos especialistas proyectan requisitos éticos universales sustentados en la investigación clínica. Esto abre la discusión si dichos principios pueden ser transferibles para evaluar las investigaciones en ciencias sociales, que comúnmente utilizan métodos y conocimientos situados y polisémicos, que interpelan en los Comités las formas de entender el consentimiento informado, los riesgos y los beneficios de las investigaciones. El objetivo del artículo es sistematizar el trabajo de revisión de proyectos del Comité de Ética Institucional (CEI) de la Universidad de Santiago de Chile. Metodológicamente se realizó análisis de contenido de 114 proyectos provenientes de las ciencias sociales. Preliminarmente se utilizaron como elementos orientadores del análisis los siete requisitos éticos universales de Ezekiel Emanuel, cuya propuesta es asumida y seguida por las directrices ministerial de Chile que ordena la labor de los Comités de Ética de Investigación. Entre los resultados se encuentra que los requisitos universales de Emanuel están presentes en gran parte de los proyectos en ciencias sociales, pero no son suficientes para abordar las situaciones específicas de investigación en ciencias sociales, siendo imprescindible la deliberación de las investigaciones por equipos multidisciplinares para respetar la heterogeneidad y la complejidad del sujeto social. The evaluation criteria used by the Research Ethics Committees come from studies in medicine, some specialists project, from their sources and experiences, universal ethical requirements based on clinical research. This opens the discussion on whether such principles can be transferable to evaluate social science research, which commonly uses complex methodologies and knowledge that challenge the Committees on ways to understand informed consent, the risks and benefits of research. The objective of the article is to systematize the project review work of the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) of the University of Santiago, Chile. The methodology includes the content analysis of 114 projects from the social sciences. The seven universal ethical requirements of Ezekiel Emanuel were used as a guiding element of the analysis, whose proposal is assumed and followed by Chilean ministerial instructions that order the work of the Research Ethics Committees. Among the results is that the universal requirements of Emanuel are present in a large part of the projects in social sciences, but they are not enough to approach the specific situations of research in social sciences, being the deliberation of the investigations by multidisciplinary teams essential to respect the heterogeneity and complexity of the social subject.

Career indecision that refers to the inability to make a decision about an occupational field one wishes to pursue has been a focus of academic research over the last few decades. Career indecision, especially among university undergraduates, is a dynamic phenomenon that is being vicariously explored presently. Research has drawn attention to explore the determinants and consequences of career indecision among undergraduates. However, little is known about whether there is a significant difference of career indecision particularly among state university management undergraduates in Sri Lanka based on their gender and location. Thus, the purpose of this study is to explore whether there is any significant differences in career indecision among state university management undergraduates in Sri Lanka, when it comes to the segregation of the target population based on the gender as well as the geographical location of the state universities. A sample of 153 final year management students were selected using stratified sampling techniques from two metropolitan and two rural state universities. Both physical on online self-administered questionnaires were used to collect the data. Independent sample t-test was used to test the hypotheses. As per the key findings of the study, it was revealed that career indecisiveness was higher among males and the difference in career indecision between male and female management undergraduate is significant. Moreover, this study found that there are no significant differences in career indecision between students studying in peripheral or urban universities. These findings would be beneficial to undergraduates, policy makers and government institutions as well as for the society at large, when it comes to devising human resource development programs, related policies etc. As this study found empirical support for significant differences in career indecision between male and female management undergraduates, the authorities who design career counseling interventions need to pay attention on this. As male undergraduates experience relatively high degree of career indecisiveness, separate strategies are required to address the differences.

The Visayas State University (VSU) developed a new strategic plan for 2017 to 2027. This plan adopted a revised vision, mission, goals, and objectives (VMGO). This study was undertaken to assess VSU stakeholders’ awareness and acceptance of the university’s VMGO after its four years of implementation. A descriptive research method was utilized, and the survey instruments were facilitated online via Google forms to reach all VSU constituents, including the four satellite campuses. This approach was chosen because of the preventive measures associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Two survey forms with Likert-scale-based questions were designed for two groups of respondents. One is for VSU faculty, staff and, other stakeholders (i.e., alumni, partners, residents of nearby barangays) with 124 responses, and a separate survey form for undergraduate students with 159 responses. The results of the study revealed a high level of awareness and acceptance of VSU VMGO among its stakeholders. Of the two groups, the VSU faculty, staff, and other stakeholders have higher awareness and acceptance levels than the undergraduate students. The leading source of information for the VMGO was the VSU’s official website, which is quite likely because of the online mode in the pandemic. The majority of the respondents from both groups perceived the VMGO as inclusive and significantly essential for it to encompass all its stakeholders’ welfare, especially the students. To keep stakeholders informed and updated, it is recommended that the mode of dissemination of the VMGO be maintained, and explore other strategic measures of information dissemination like translating VMGO into the local dialect, that is, Cebuano, Waray-Waray, or Filipino, to reach a wider audience.

Higher educational institutions are responsible for integrating the vital aspect of primary healthcare services in school settings. The study assessed the quality and utilization of school health services (SHS) of a state university in the Philippines. A descriptive-comparative and correlational study was utilized through a researcher-made questionnaire among 310 respondents using stratified random sampling. Generally, findings revealed that the level of quality of SHS is high, and the extent of utilization is great. It showed significant differences in the level of quality when grouped as to geographic clusters and the extent of utilization when grouped as to designation and geographic clusters. There is a positive correlation between the level of quality and the extent of utilization of SHS. Challenges encountered were the limited availability of health personnel and inadequate health supplies and equipment. Therefore, the higher the quality of SHS, the greater is the extent of utilization towards building a healthy university.

The present research aims to investigate the open access (OA) friendliness of the twenty-six (26) state universities that have been ranked in the National Institutional Ranking Framework's (2021) 'Overall Category' (Rank Band 1: Top 100). The open-access ranking framework, as designed, is based on four major OA areas: i) proportion of OA publications by a given state university; ii) use of a license in sharing OA publications; iii) citations received by OA publications; and iv) popularity of OA publications in socio-academic web-space as indicated by altmetric attention scores. Ten years (2012-2021) primary publication data for the 26 state universities from Scopus was collected. We analyzed a total of 1,57,971 publications; 1,60,723 citations received by these publications; and altmetric attention scores received by 26,996 publications from these 26 state universities listed in the NIRF 2021 overall category. It applies an open-source data wrangling tool (OpenRefine) and a number of ODbL-based (Open Database License) data sources to gather the necessary data elements required for this large-scale study. The study finds that almost 98% of the state universities enlisted in the top 100 overall category passed the 50 marks on a 100-point scale, and the newly established state universities' open access friendliness is greater than the older ones. The study looked into the various significant financial challenges faced by business administration students of one of Dumaguete City's state colleges. Corollary to this objective, their current financial practices were also examined. Information from 308 respondents was gathered using a quantitative research method using Cochran's approach and convenience sampling technique was used in the study. A self-administered questionnaire was used. And several published research articles influenced the development of the instrument. The data was evaluated using weighted mean and ranking. The findings revealed that the two most common financial challenges students had grappled with throughout their moderately difficult college years were obtaining a part-time job to supplement their parent-financed school allowance and not being able to purchase internet data to attend online classes. One of the students' major financial practices is to save as much money as possible, markedly considered as highly practiced in the study. Business administration students were moderately challenged by the recognized elements of financial challenges while being slightly practiced as described under Financial Challenges. Students are good at saving money and not buying things (that may pose a financial risk), in addition to working parttime. Further, the study suggested that the school administration conceive and implement a comprehensive financial education, elevate the level of students' financial quotient by embedding financial courses in the curricula of programs, and consistently provide a series of seminars and workshops on the subject. Creativity in learning is an enjoyable experience for most students who are studying mathematics. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented experiences to students, learning mathematics is questionably creative and enjoyable nowadays. This study intends to measure the level of creativity and how enjoyable learning mathematics is amidst the pandemic. The study develops statistical models to capture the different factors that significantly influence the students' creativity and enjoyable experience in learning mathematics. A selected secondary survey data from the existing study was utilized and analyzed through descriptive measures and regression analysis. Results revealed that the mean perception scores (scale of 1 to 10) for the level of creativity and enjoyment are 5.27 and 5.17, respectively. This implies that there is only moderate creativity and joy in learning mathematics amidst the pandemic. Findings showed that the predictors of students' level of creativity in learning mathematics are "synchronous learning modality," "learning environment," and "health aspect ."In addition, it is revealed that "age," "learning environment," and "health aspect" are significant predictors of students' level of enjoyment. Thus, teachers must maintain a lively and motivating learning environment for students by giving them exciting and enjoyable mathematics learning activities. This study aims to present and analyze the forms of access to Brazilian student assistance from the analysis of elements indicated in the primary and secondary documentary sources of two federal universities, for the period between 2008 and 2014, focusing on structural social work as its theoretical basis. The main product of the study is the definition of the model of access and permanence of Brazilian students to student assistance policies, with the help of statistical data related to the service capacity and coverage of its programs and actions, which reveal its purposes, guarantees, and constraints. The evaluation criteria used by the Research Ethics Committees come from studies in medicine, some specialists project, from their sources and experiences, universal ethical requirements based on clinical research. This opens the discussion on whether such principles can be transferable to evaluate social science research, which commonly uses complex methodologies and knowledge that challenge the Committees on ways to understand informed consent, the risks and benefits of research. The objective of the article is to systematize the project review work of the Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) of the University of Santiago, Chile. The methodology includes the content analysis of 114 projects from the social sciences. The seven universal ethical requirements of Ezekiel Emanuel were used as a guiding element of the analysis, whose proposal is assumed and followed by Chilean ministerial instructions that order the work of the Research Ethics Committees. Among the results is that the universal requirements of Emanuel are present in a large part of the projects in social sciences, but they are not enough to approach the specific situations of research in social sciences, being the deliberation of the investigations by multidisciplinary teams essential to respect the heterogeneity and complexity of the social subject. This paper investigated the relationship between organizational culture and soft skills. Data were collected among selected faculty members in the three different state universities. Using convenient sampling, the study included 324 respondents, one in each state university from the main island of the Philippines (Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao). This study used a descriptive-correlational design which utilized a self-constructed questionnaire with a Cronbach Alpha of 0.907 internal consistency, having formatted on a 4-point scale. The result showed that the organizational culture of faculty members is strong with a mean of 3.5 (SD=.48), and the soft skills of faculty members are good with a mean of 3.23 (SD=.44). Moreover, there is a significant relationship between organizational culture and soft skills, specifically, the clan culture negatively related to soft skills with a coefficient value of -.070 with a contribution of .09% in the variance. This implies that clan culture has a possible adverse relationship with soft skills. Based on the path model organizational culture has a direct effect on soft skills.

This research aims to determine and analyze the influence of leadership on lecturer performance at state universities and private universities in Makassar city. The method used is quantitative, with multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS 22 as a processing data tool. The total sample in this study was 60, consisting of 30 lecturers at a state university and 30 lecturers at a private university. The research results in the conclusion in this study leadership which indicators (clarity of vision and mission, achievement of vision and mission, optimism, confidence, agility, setting an example, and delegation of authority) have a positive and significant impact partial and simultaneous test. The work of lecturers at state and private universities in the three teaching areas of education, research and publication, and community service is closely linked to making higher education more competitive. Leadership abilities in developing competence and commitment also heavily impact lecturer performance. Leadership who can set an example, act swiftly, delegate authority well, and maintain a high degree of optimism can enhance professor performance in public and private colleges.

This descriptive-correlational study described and analyzed the perceived difficulty in implementing Flexible Learning (FL) strategies of 60 teacher education faculty members of a state university in an eastern province in the Philippines. Moreover, this study investigated the correlation between the faculty members’ demographics and their perceived difficulty in implementing flexible learning strategies. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire and analyzed using weighted mean, standard deviation, Spearman Rho Correlation, and Rank-Biserial Correlation. Results revealed that faculty members, in general, considered flexible learning strategies to be slightly difficult to implement. A significant relationship was also found between the faculty members’ generational age and their perceived difficulty in the Instructional Approach and Resources domain. The findings of this study suggest capacity building initiatives to address the identified difficult flexible learning strategies of the faculty members.

Education in sexuality and equality is considered as a complex research and training environment, but mandatory in university research educational contexts dedicated to teacher training. In this paper we present the main results of a qualitative research carried out at the University of Castilla la Mancha (Spain) in which, through semi-structured interviews and Delphi technique to 32 professionals, the biographical-narrative method has allowed to work on the conceptions in sexuality and equality of the teaching staff. The goal is to analyze how the issues on sexuality and the principle of equality have an impact on their curriculum and their research field. The results show institutional curbs and opportunities in this field. This descriptive comparative research determined the vulnerability and risk index including the adaptive capacity of the university exposed elements: population, natural resources, and facilities. A researcher-made survey questionnaire was used to determine the adaptive capacity of these elements and was administered to 598 respondents composed of students, faculty, and non-teaching personnel from the three campuses. An assessment survey was also conducted over three groups of purposively selected students, personnel, and external stakeholders for vulnerability and risk. Using descriptive and inferential analysis, the study yielded a high adaptive capacity for all exposed elements and a significant difference when the respondents were grouped into campuses. Likewise, all campuses have a very low vulnerability and a low risk to a landslide but have a different risk to flooding: B has a high risk, A is moderate, while C has no risk. Findings suggest that each campus has to be treated differently to address priority areas.

The environmental feature of the organizational climate, which surrounds an organization, unites features that affect people's activities within an organization. Burnout is recognized as a condition that frequently affects people who work together. Owing to their many interactions with students, staff, and administrators, university faculty members are potential burnout candidates. Maintaining a stable workplace environment is critical for reducing faculty burnout. Disparities in organizational environment are often expected to manifest in your own way amid public and deemed to be universities. Aim of this research is to look at impact of organizational environment on faculty burnout at both public and deemed to be universities. Survey tool was used to gather 984 responses from faculty members. The study's findings largely backed the hypotheses, indicating that all aspects of organizational environment had a detrimental impact on faculty members' emotional fatigue. While the organizational climate's manageable workload, consistency of mission, continuity, and ethical aspects all led to faculty members' depersonalization adversely impacted their personal achievement. Furthermore, the study found that state university faculty members who had a high level of cohesion in their organizational environment were less likely to be emotionally drained, while cohesion among deemed to be universityfacultymembers had a negative impact on depersonalization. Educational Administration graduate programs are among the programs that students frequently apply at state and foundation universities. The main purpose of the programs, which are generally preferred by undergraduates of the Faculties of Education, is to train the required education administrators. Being a graduate of Educational Administration programs have little contribution to be appointed as an educational administrator at state schools. This situation arouses interest in the aims, expectations and achievements of the students who direct to the field of Education Administration in order to receive graduate education. The aim of this study is to make a general evaluation and make a variety of suggestions for the field of Educational Administration and its programs by examining aims and gains of graduate students attending the Educational Administration graduate programs at the state and foundation universities. The study was designed with a phenomenological approach and included 21 students, 12 from state universities and 9 from foundation universities. The data collected by the semi-structured interview form were analyzed by content analysis. Generally, participants stated that they started graduate education for personal and professional purposes. Various differences were observed among the participants from state and foundation universities. The most obvious one among those differences is aims of participants while choosing this field. Findings of the study emphasize necessary formations on training and recruitment of educational administrators.

Background and aim: Today, the scientific outputs of universities are quantitatively and qualitatively measured using scientometrics on which the scientific progress of these institutions is evaluated. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the scientific outputs of agricultural colleges in State Khuzestan Universities during 1989-2008 and to assess the scientific status of these institutions. Material and methods: This descriptive-analytical survey was performed using scientometrics. A checklist, Web of Science (WoS) and research report were used to gather the data. The study population consisted of 128 faculty members working in the Faculties of Agriculture in Shahid-Chamran University, Ramin (Khuzestan) Agricultural and Natural Resources and Behbahan Natural Resources. Findings: The results of the research showed that the total scientific outputs of all three institutes were 5715 titles, and had the growing trend the studied period. The most scientific documents with 1445 titles (about 25% of the total scientific output) were produced in 2008. Pearson correlation coefficient indicated that there was a significant relationship between scientific degree, work experience and scientific outputs (p≥0.000). Conclusion: The trend of scientific outputs of the studied institutions was growing. Educational groups of agronomy and plant breeding, animal sciences and plant protection had more scientific outputs than other groups.

This article reflects on neo-liberal reform of Indonesia's state universities, using Michael Burawoy's approach to the division of sociological labour in particular and social science in general. It examines the relationship between neo-liberal market imperatives and authoritarian bureaucratic legacies that not only curtail the development of theoretically engaged and socially relevant scholarship but also shape knowledge production through the marketisation of technocratic research. This article shows how, counter-intuitively, the rise of managerial power linked with neo-liberal policies has prolonged the mechanics of bureaucratic administration that Indonesian state universities inherited from the authoritarian New Order regime. This has resulted in a condition where insular academic practices perpetuate technocratic social science research driven by market mechanisms. The article argues that acknowledging the unequal status accorded to instrumental as opposed to reflexive knowledge production is crucial to understand the failures of neo-liberal reform in post-authoritarian Indonesia state universities. It concludes that a thorough reconsideration of the institutional settings that have systematically constrained critical and professional social science in Indonesia is necessary before any attempts at structural changes that enable the sort of deep engagement with the public that Burawoy envisages for a critical social science. This study aimed to determine the employability of Information Technology Education graduates from a state university in the Philippines. The researchers employed cross-sectional retrospective survey method. One-hundred seventy-seven out of 204 (or 86.76%) graduates of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from year 2015–2017 participated in this study. The data gathering instrument used by the researchers is the Graduate Tracer Study developed by the Commission on Higher Education. Findings reveal that 78.53% (or 139 out of 177) of the respondents are already employed. Moreover, 69.78% (or 97 out of 139) perceived that their first job is related to the program that respondents took up in college. It took one year to less than two years for the 28.06% of the respondents to land in their first job. It is also noteworthy that it took 1–6 months for 25.90% of the respondents to find their first job. When asked whether or not the curriculum they had in college is relevant in their first job, majority of the respondents (69.78%) declared that the curriculum of the program they had in college is indeed relevant. To further enhance the marketability of BSIT and BSCS programs and the employability of the graduates they produce, among the researchers’ recommendations is the periodic review of curriculum by academic leaders, alumni, and industry representatives to ensure that graduates are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills required in the industry.

Purpose: the study investigates attitude of librarians' towards provision of corporate social responsibility initiatives in state university libraries in south Nigeria. Design/methodology: The descriptive survey research method was adopted with research instruments structured using four-point Likert rating scale and used in generating data for the study. A total of 79 questionnaires were administered to librarians working in six (6) state universities in south-east and south-south Nigeria. A total of sixty-five (65) were retrieved. Descriptive statistics were used with the aid of Statistical Product Services Solution (SPSS) in analyzing the data. Findings: It was revealed that librarians have positive attitude towards the provision of CSR initiatives. Creation of CSR Unit, formulation of formal CSR policy and partnering with NGOs and others were identified as strategies through which CSR initiatives can be institutionalized. Demand for additional knowledge beyond the expertise of library practice is seen as a major challenge. Conclusion: Librarians are aware of the various CSR initiatives that can be provided in the university environment. Implication of findings: Library managers must show commitment towards the design and provision of CSR initiatives and they should be ready to partner with non-governmental organization (NGOs) and other relevant agencies. Originality/value: This paper has opened a new horizon for exploration within the domain of library setting as it relates to relationship with the host communities and parent institutions. Nowadays the presence of Catholic theology in Spanish public universities, leaving aside Catholic theology and religious education courses taught in the Faculties of Education within the education degrees, is marked by two very significant presences. One of them directly relates to the creation of chairs of theology: the Chair of Theology at the University of Granada, the Chair of the Three Religions at the University of Valencia, and the Chair of Theology and Religious Studies "Ignacio Ellacuría" at the University Carlos III in Madrid. The main purpose of these chairs is to highlight the special way with which theology looks at the production of knowledge, on the assumption that the most significant elements of religious traditions make meaning and generate proposals that may come into an honest dialogue with other disciplines. The other presence is more significant and is implemented at the University of Murcia, which recognizes theology as a discipline itself, with its own contents. Consequently, this university issues official qualifications, a fact that is made possible because of the relationship established between the OFM Theological Institute of Murcia and the University of Murcia.
