We investigate the role of \emph{interlayer} interaction terms in the competition between different superconducting gap symmetries in the bilayer nickelate $\text{La}_3\text{Ni}_2\text{O}_7$ under high pressure. We study a two-layer, two-orbital electron model that encompasses both intra- and interlayer Coulomb interaction terms within the matrix random-phase approximation. We find that interlayer interactions favor a $d_{xy}$-wave superconducting pairing symmetry over the $s^{\pm}$-wave symmetry, which has been found to prevail when interlayer interactions are disregarded. Moreover, our findings indicate that interlayer interactions enhance the interorbital pairing, incorporating contributions from all three electron pockets, arising from both $d_{3z^2-r^2}$ and $d_{x^2-y^2}$ orbital character, resulting in nodes within the gap function (not present in the $s^{\pm}$-wave state) and consequently favoring the $d_{xy}$-wave pairing., Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures + Supp. Material

The electron spin polarization on half-metallic double-perovskites is usually conditioned to the ordered rock-salt arrangement of the transition-metal ions along the lattice. In this work, we investigate a polycrystalline sample of the Ca1.5La0.5MnRuO6 compound by employing x-ray powder diffraction, high resolution transmission electron microscopy, x-ray absorption and magnetic circular dichroism at the Mn-L2,3 and Ru-M2,3 edges, magnetometry, electrical transport and first principles calculations in order to show that this is a fully disordered material exhibiting near room temperature ferrimagnetism and half-metallic conductivity, with significant intergrain tunneling magnetoresistance. These unprecedented results are compared to those of archetypical ordered double-perovskites, and discussed in terms of the Mn and Ru valences and their orbital hybridization., Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures

We explore the phase diagram of the Mott metal-insulator transition (MIT), focusing on the effects of particle-hole asymmetry (PHA) in the single-band Hubbard model. Our dynamical mean-field theory (DMFT) study reveals that the introduction of PHA in the model significantly influences the critical temperature ($T_c$) and interaction strength ($U_c$), as well as the size of the co-existence region of metallic and insulating phases at low temperatures. Specifically, as the system is moved away from particle-hole symmetry, $T_c$ decreases and $U_c$ increases, indicating a suppression of the insulating phase and the strengthening of the metallic behavior. Additionally, the first-order transition line between metallic and insulating phases is better defined in the model with PHA, leading to a reduced co-existence region at $T

The rotational spectrum of the molecular ion HCNH+ is revisited using double-resonance spectroscopy in an ion trap apparatus, with six transitions measured between 74 and 445 GHz. Due to the cryogenic temperature of the trap, the hyperfine splittings caused by the 14N quadrupolar nucleus were resolved for transitions up to J = 4-3, allowing for a refinement of the spectroscopic parameters previously reported, especially the quadrupole coupling constant eQq.

Multiband superconductors have featured one of the main challenges to achieve a comprehensive understanding of unconventional superconductivity. Here, the multiband character is studied separately as orbital and sublattice degrees of freedom, as they have different effects for the superconducting and magnetic or charge orders. We build on the framework of the matrix random-phase approximation (RPA), which accounts for the RPA Feynman diagrams and also vertex corrections, to treat the electron-electron interactions in an off-site degenerate Hubbard model. As a result, systems without a sublattice degree of freedom tend to be dominated by spin fluctuations, while systems with multiple sublattice sites and orbitals have the charge fluctuations favored. Finally, we explicitly demonstrate that the known suppression of the superconducting pairing strength $\lambda$ by spin fluctuations from repulsive interactions at zero momentum transfer $\boldsymbol{q}$ is countered by the finite-$\boldsymbol{q}$ pairing, which always improves $\lambda$., Comment: 10 + 6 pages, 2 figures

Nanocrystalline FeCuNbSiB thin films were fabricated through magnetron sputtering followed by heat treatment, resulting in samples characterized by low coercivity and high effective magnetization. Comprehensive microstructural analysis, employing X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy techniques such as selected area electron diffraction, high-resolution imaging, and Fourier transform, was conducted. Magnetic properties were investigated using an alternating gradient field magnetometer and broadband ferromagnetic resonance. The structural analysis revealed a well-defined microstructure of nanograins within an amorphous matrix in all of our films. However, the coercivity of the 80 nm films did not exhibit as low values as observed for the 160 nm films

Magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene (MATBG) has been extensively explored both theoretically and experimentally as a suitable platform for a rich and tunable phase diagram that includes ferromagnetism, charge order, broken symmetries, and unconventional superconductivity. In this work, we investigate the intricate interplay between long-range electron-electron interactions, spin fluctuations, and superconductivity in MATBG. By employing a low-energy model for MATBG that captures the correct shape of the flat bands, we explore the effects of short- and long-range interactions on spin fluctuations and their impact on the superconducting (SC) pairing vertex in the Random Phase Approximation (RPA). We find that the SC state is notably influenced by the strength of long-range Coulomb interactions. Interestingly, our RPA calculations indicate that there is a regime where the system can traverse from a magnetic phase to the SC phase by \emph{increasing} the relative strength of long-range interactions compared to the on-site ones. These findings underscore the relevance of electron-electron interactions in shaping the intriguing properties of MATBG and offer a pathway for designing and controlling its SC phase., Comment: Revised and expanded version. 11 pages, 7 figures

Based on a novel laboratory method, 14 mm-wave lines of the molecular ion H$_2$CCCH$^+$ have been measured in high resolution, and the spectroscopic constants of this asymmetric rotor determined with high accuracy. Using the Yebes 40 m and IRAM 30 m radio telescopes, we detect four lines of H$_2$CCCH$^+$ towards the cold dense core TMC-1. With a dipole moment of about 0.55 Debye obtained from high-level ab initio calculations, we derive a column density of 5.4$\pm$1$\times$10$^{11}$ cm$^{-2}$ and 1.6$\pm$0.5$\times$10$^{11}$ cm$^{-2}$ for the ortho and para species, respectively, and an abundance ratio N(H$_2$CCC)/N(H$_2$CCCH$^+$)= 2.8$\pm$0.7. The chemistry of H$_2$CCCH$^+$ is modelled using the most recent chemical network for the reactions involving the formation of H$_2$CCCH$^+$. We find a reasonable agreement between model predictions and observations, and new insights into the chemistry of C$_3$ bearing species in TMC-1 are obtained.

The structural, electronic, and magnetic properties of La2-xBaxCoMnO6 (0.25 =< x =< 1.0) compounds were investigated employing x-ray powder diffraction and magnetometry. The crystal structure evolves from orthorhombic Pnma to rhombohedral R-3c and then to hexagonal P63/mmc space group as the Ba concentration increases. The magnetization as a function of temperature measurements revealed a ferromagnetic-like behavior for all samples, but antiferromagnetic interactions seem to also be present throughout the whole series. The competition between magnetic phases leads to the phenomenon of spontaneous exchange bias effect, observed in the zero field cooled magnetization as a function of applied magnetic field curves. The evolution of this effect along the series is discussed in terms of changes in the crystal structure.

Collaborative Filtering (CF), the most common approach to build Recommender Systems, became pervasive in our daily lives as consumers of products and services. However, challenges limit the effectiveness of Collaborative Filtering approaches when dealing with recommendation data, mainly due to the diversity and locality of user preferences, structural sparsity of user-item ratings, subjectivity of rating scales, and increasingly high item dimensionality and user bases. To answer some of these challenges, some authors proposed successful approaches combining CF with Biclustering techniques. This work assesses the effectiveness of Biclustering approaches for CF, comparing the impact of algorithmic choices, and identifies principles for superior Biclustering-based CF. As a result, we propose USBFC, a Biclustering-based CF approach that creates user-specific models from strongly coherent and statistically significant rating patterns, corresponding to subspaces of shared preferences across users. Evaluation on real-world data reveals that USBCF achieves competitive predictive accuracy against state-of-the-art CF methods. Moreover, USBFC successfully suppresses the main shortcomings of the previously proposed state-of-the-art biclustering-based CF by increasing coverage, and coclustering-based CF by strengthening subspace homogeneity.
