4. Analysis of hot deformation behavior and processing map of extruded AZ40 alloy

Abstract

The Gleeble-3500 thermal simulation tester was used to perform hot deformation behavior on the extruded AZ40 Mg alloy to analyze the trend of the true stress-strain curve after compression and to obtain the influence of the flow stress on the deformation temperature and strain rate. Subsequently, the constitutive equation was constructed for extruded AZ40 alloy based on the hyperbolic-sine relationship, and the thermal processing map of extruded AZ40 alloy was established based on the dynamic material model (DMM), thereby estimating the processing range of extruded AZ40 alloy. The results show that the rheological curve of extruded AZ40 alloy is characterized by obvious dynamic recrystallization. Furthermore, during the compression process, the peak stress of extruded AZ40 alloy decreases with the increase of deformation temperature, while increases with the increase of strain rate. Moreover, the proportion of dynamic recrystallized grains (DRGs) decreases with the increase of the strain rate under the same deformation temperature condition; while the DRGs size increases with the increase of the deformation temperature under the same strain rate condition. The coarse uncrystallized grains show obvious crystallographic orientations of 〈1010〉‖ND and 〈2110〉‖ND, while crystallographic orientation of DRGs is random distributed. Finally, through thermal processing map and tissue analysis, the optimal processing window was identified as T=573 K, $\dot \varepsilon $=0.1 s-1.

13. X-Structure of Torque Adjustable Formed by 3-D Printing With Embedded Optical Fiber Bending for Vibration Sensing

Abstract

Inexpensive, lightweight, sensitive, compact, easy-to-install, and mass-producible vibration sensors are the future wave. This article validates the use of a 3-D-printed doublet bracket that turns out to be a scissor-like X-structure with scissor-like kinematics when vibrating. The main concept is simple: an intact standard single-mode fiber (SMF) is folded into a droplet-bending shape and embedded in an arch bridge-type assembly connected to an X-shaped structure. When regular vibrations are transmitted to the X-structure, the continuous scissor motion of the X-structure drives the arch bridge-type assembly to regularly extend and shrink, thereby changing the size of the fiber bending, creating variations in the optical loss, and allowing for the measurement of the vibration. In addition, the sensitivity of the vibration measurement can be adjusted by altering the torque by varying the intersection angle of the doublet bracket in the X-structure or the fiber loss by varying the number of turns of fiber bending. In this way, the sensitivity can be adjusted according to the magnitude of the vibration amplitude of the object being measured in various measurement scenarios. For instance, if the vibration amplitude is weak, a high-sensitivity frame will be utilized for the measurement, and vice versa. Furthermore, this 3-D-printed-based X-structure and fiber-bending-based vibration sensor can be integrated with free-space optics (FSOs) for more versatile measurements in various applications. In summary, this scheme showcases an affordable, lightweight, variable-sensitivity, simple, and easily mass-producible fiber-optic vibration sensing technology.

Abstract

A fast multi-layer 3d reconstruction algorithm is proposed to realize 3d body surface layer. Based on multi-layer surface reconstructing the shortest triangle line algorithm are proposed. In order to achieve more rapid reconstruction, a fast multi-layer 3D reconstruction algorithm is proposed. When the points on the layers having some errors, or have some offset, during the reconstruction of layered, it will automatically adjust for each pixel value of the selected layer, so that reconstruction process can be completed faster and more accurately . We give optimization method to realize fast reconstruction under real-time environmental.

39. Sediment PAH source apportionment in the Liaohe River using the ME2approach : A comparison to the PMF model

Abstract

Environmental contaminant source apportionment is essential for pollution management and control. This study analysed surface sediment samples for 16 priority polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). PAH sources were identified by two receptor models, which included positive matrix factorization (PMF) and multilinear engine 2 (ME2). Three PAH sources in the Liaohe River sediments were identified by PM', including traffic, coke oven and coal combustion. The ME2 model apportioned one additional source. The two models yielded excellent correlation coefficients between the measured and predicted PAH concentrations. Traffic emission was the primary PAH source associated with the Liaohe River sediments, with estimated PMF contributions of 58% in May and 63' in September. Coke oven (19%-25%) and coal combustion (13%-18,0) were the other two major PAH sources. For ME2, gasoline and diesel were separated: accounted for 14% in May and 16% in September; and 53' in May and 48% in September. This study marks the first application of the ME2 model to study sediment contaminant source apportionment. The methodology can potentially be applied to other aquatic environment contaminants.

40. The accuracy of two- and three-way Positive Matrix Factorization models: Applying simulated multi-sites datasets

Abstract

The application of three-way datasets (combined multi-site datasets) for source apportionment has become common, but its influence on the performance of receptor modeling techniques hasn’t yet been explored systematically. To study the influence of site-to-site correlations of source contributions and the spatial variability of source profiles on two- and three-way Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF), simulated three-way datasets were constructed and modeled by different applications of PMF (PMF2 for each site individually, PMF2 for datasets combining all sites together and PMF3 for all sites). In addition, the performance of PMF was evaluated under conditions of collinearity and different source categories at two sites. The results indicated that, if the sites were contributed by sources with identical profiles, the site-to-site correlations of source contributions would not influence the PMF2, and the three-way blocks could be used by PMF2. However, the PMF2 using three-way datasets was sensitive to the spatial variability of source profiles. For the three-way model, PMF3 could perform well only when all of the sources exhibited strong site-to-site associations among all sites, and at the same time, the spatial variability of source profiles were sufficiently small. It might due to the algorithm that, for each source, PMF3 produces the same source profile and the same temporal variation in daily contributions among all sites. IMPLICATIONSThe application of multi-sites datasets for source apportionment has become common. However, limited work investigated the accuracy of two- and three-way PMFs when using multi-sites datasets. If the application of PMFs using multi-site datasets wasn’t appropriate, the results would be unreasonable. The unreasonable results would supply confused information for PM control strategies. In this work, simulated multi-site datasets were modeled by different applications of PMFs. The effort to assess and compare the performance of two- and three-way PMFs using multi-sites datasets is very limited. The findings could provide information for the multi-sites source apportionment.
