In the present study, synthesis, characterization and antibacterial properties of un-doped and Cu-doped ZnO nanoparticles (NAPs) were explored and also have been investigated the effect of changing the dopant precursor material [Cu(NO3)2 to Cu(NO3)2.3H2O] on the surface morphology and the antibacterial properties of Cu-doped ZnO NAPs. The undoped ZnO NAPs, Cu-doped ZnO NAPs (M1 NAPs, Cu(NO3)2) and (M2 NAPs, Cu(NO3)2.3H2O) were fabricated through co-precipitation method. The synthesized NAPs were characterized by different spectroscopic and analytical techniques such as X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDAX) and Ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy. The antibacterial activity of synthesized NAPs was carried out by agar diffusion method against different bacterial strains. Results from XRD, SEM, EDAX and UV-Vis examines confirmed the successful synthesis, crystalline nature and hexagonal wurzite structure of un-doped and M1 NAPs and M2 NAPs with the average grain size of 15.63 nm and 20.18 nm and 28.94 nm; and band gap energy of 3.68, 2.76 eV and 2.10 eV respectively. The synthesized Cudoped ZnO NAPs (M2 NAPs) were disclosed the remarkable and extraordinary antibacterial activity against E. coli, and B. subtilis, with the zone of inhibitions of 31 ± 0.4 mm and 27 ± 0.6 mm, respectively. Better and improved antibacterial propensity was also demonstrated by M1 NAPs than un-doped ZnO NAPs and standard drug. Results thus obtained corroborate and suggest the applications of un-doped ZnO NAPs and Cu-doped ZnO NAPs as antibacterial agents. This study was involved to synthesize, characterize and investigate the antimicrobial properties of Cobalt-doped tinoxide (Co-doped SnO2) nanoparticles. Cobalt-doped tinoxide (Co-doped SnO2) nanoparticles were prepared by using a simple and cheap co-precipitation method. The synthesized and Cobalt-doped tinoxide (Co-doped SnO2) nanoparticles were characterized by using different characterization techniques i.e. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis, and Ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy. The antimicrobial activity of the synthesized Cobalt-doped tinoxide (Co-doped SnO2) nanoparticles was carried by agar well diffusion method against both Gram-negative (Escherichia coli) and Gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis). Results from XRD, SEM, EDX and UV-Vis analyses demonstrated successful synthesis of Co-doped SnO2 nanoparticles as seen in their tetragonal structures. The average grain size of the synthesized nanoparticles was found to be 24.8 nm. The optical properties were studied by measuring the energy band gap and were found 1.50 eV for un-doped SnO2 nanoparticles, and it decreases to 1.48 eV for Co-doped nanoparticles. Co-doped SnO2 nanoparticles were exhibited the significant and maximum antibacterial activity against both bacterial strains with the zone of inhibition (ZOIs) of 16 ± 0.8 mm and 22 ± 1.6 mm for Escherichia coli (E.coli) and Bacillus subtilis (B. subtilis) respectively. Co-doped SnO2 nanoparticles showed good activity against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria confirming these as future broad spectrum antibacterial. A total of 29 peafowl (Pavo cristatus), rectified surgically for infraorbital abscesses (n = 22), lacerated wounds (n = 4), and fractures of tibia (n = 2) and radius (n = 1), were anaesthetized by the intravenous administration of ketamine hydrochloride (Inj. Calypsol, Gedeon Richter, Hungary) in a dose of 15 20 mg/kg body weight. Divided doses (10 mg + 5 mg + 5 mg) were used with an interval of 1-2 min. No premedication was undertaken in any of the birds. Anaesthesia lasted for about 15 min and the birds gained their feet completely after 30 min to 3 hours. The respiration rate was markedly depressed (8-10/min) and the respiratory pattern was deep abdominal. Only a slight increase was observed in the heart rate. Analgesia was incomplete and muscle relaxation was not satisfactory. Mild salivation was also noticed in some of the birds (n = 3). Recovery, although not smooth, was uneventful.
