Envy has garnered considerable attention in hospitality since emotions are crucial in understanding how individuals behave within an organization. However, research has failed to establish a link between envy and psychological detachment in coastline hotels. Our study investigates the effect of coworker envy on service sabotage through psychological detachment as a mediating factor and perceived employability and self-performance as moderators. Data were collected from 637 employees at three-star coastline hotels using a time-lagged approach. The SmartPLS results revealed that psychological detachment was partially mediated. Finally, employee performance strengthened the positive connection between psychological detachment and service sabotage conduct. • Attitudes of different VRU Groups towards AVs in urban traffic were studied. • Interaction with AVs and AVs in mixed traffic with CVs was explored. • Some VRUs are concerned that mixed traffic could lead to more aggression from human drivers and make traffic participation more complex. • VRUs share similar evaluations, intentions, and AV requirements in urban traffic. • VRUs want AV identification, explicit communication, and strict traffic rules. In today's urban traffic, vulnerable road users (VRUs) have a somewhat ambivalent relationship with human drivers. The introduction of automated vehicles (AVs) that are no longer controlled by such human drivers could impact this relationship, both in positive and negative ways. Five focus groups (pedestrians, cyclists, e-scooter riders, individuals with walking disabilities, and older adults) were conducted to investigate how different VRUs evaluate the participation of AVs in urban traffic and whether they hold specific requirements or concerns. The discussions focused on exploring potential interactions with AVs and the effects of mixed traffic scenarios (encompassing AVs and conventional vehicles (CVs)) on the well-being of VRUs in urban traffic. The results revealed that the concerns and expectations about AVs in urban traffic were quite similar among the various VRU groups. Regarding their interaction with AVs, participants expressed advantages (e.g., eliminating human errors) and disadvantages (e.g., lack of communication possibilities). In the context of mixed traffic, especially cyclists and individuals with walking disabilities feared aggressive behavior from CVs taking advantage of rule-abiding AVs. They also saw the risk of increasing complexity in mixed urban traffic, as AVs are likely to behave differently from CVs. In addition to the increased caution described by most VRUs, a few participants could imagine taking advantage of the defensive driving style of AVs. The cyclist group discussed the possibility of sabotaging AVs to make a general statement against cars in urban traffic. Furthermore, essential requirements were gathered for vehicle manufacturers (e.g., external Human-Machine Interfaces) and policies (e.g., stringent regulation enforcement for car traffic in the city) that could enable successful coexistence between VRUs and AVs in urban traffic. This essay takes, as its starting point, Andreas Malm's effort, in How to Blow Up a Pipeline: Learning to Fight in a World on Fire , to legitimize and normalize property destruction in the context of the climate movement. The sabotage of energy infrastructures, I counter, cannot make sense, for it poses a threat to coherence, removing without replacing the material and discursive conditions that grant the climate movement its meaning and purpose within late capitalism and late liberalism. Recent protests entailing the defacement of paintings share with ecocriticism an investment in an essentially liberal, pedagogical and moral covenant, one that urges witnesses to undergo an individual process of reflection in order to acquire or affirm values and priorities friendlier to the environment. Sabotage, by contrast, violates this covenant; blowing up a pipeline may be said to have met its goals by reducing and slowing the supply of oil, regardless of what the public learned from sabotage's mediatization. Drawing on psychoanalytic accounts of aesthetic education, I argue that sabotage introduces absurdity into a category—action—that the climate movement otherwise insists is self-identical. Sabotage does this by subtracting the world wherein putatively future-bound actions, including having and raising a child, mean what they do. I test out this claim in a reading of Nell Zink's novel The Wallcreeper and Benedikt Erlingsson's film Woman at War (Kona fer í stríð), two absurdist comedies that formally amplify the semiotic crisis induced by sabotage and, in so doing, enable us to confront the necessary dislocation of politics from sense. This article examines the career of the South African undercover agent Craig Williamson in the 1970s and 1980s, arguing that the violent acts of men like Williamson must be analysed in terms of the broader strategic aims of the Security Police in the maintenance of apartheid. This means, first, that we must look beyond the smokescreen of Williamson’s notoriety and begin to see Williamson as he was – an operative, working alongside many others, within a vast repressive apparatus. Second, we must analyse the entirety of Williamson’s career and not only the crimes for which he is most infamous. Most of Williamson’s career was spent not as a murderer but as an undercover agent, sabotaging the anti-apartheid struggle through the control and misappropriation of movement funds and through subtle interventions at the ideological level. Williamson’s contributions to counter-insurgency strategy and organisational sabotage are significant in and of themselves and must be analysed by scholars. In this vein, this article offers a glimpse into the parallel and overlapping worlds of the African National Congress (ANC) underground in Botswana and Craig Williamson’s time in Geneva working undercover as the deputy director of the International University Exchange Fund (IUEF). This life history account illustrates the covert politics of sabotage, purging, and the defeat of defecting and rival factions that occurred within the United Farm Workers in Texas. I draw on Robert Michels’ framework of competing leadership to illustrate the mechanisms established leadership can use to sabotage, purge, and the eliminate rival leaders, in particular maverick and threatening leaders. This case study draws on the history of the Texas Farm Workers Union, led by Antonio Orendain in the 1970s, and its conflict with the United Farm Workers led by Cesar Chavez. I argue that Orendain’s maverick leadership and independent union activity led the UFW leadership to 1) actively block resources such as money and supplies to Orendain, 2) leverage political connections to blacklist Orendain’s campaign for collective bargaining, and 3) write Orendain out of the UFW narrative and memory in Texas. These moments provide an opportunity to reveal the covert and complex politics of controlling the direction, resources, and objectives of labour movements. European policymakers have identified the need to understand influence operations on social media, cyber-attacks or hidden economic investments – activities that can be characterised as hybrid threats or hybrid warfare. Yet, the difference between hybrid threats and hybrid warfare is unclear. In 2019, Mikael Wigell therefore coined the term "hybrid interference" to clarify the distinction between "hybrid warfare" and "hybrid threats". However, less attention has been given to the activities hybrid interference may consist of. To address this gap we have used a morphological analysis, which is a structured tool for analysis that addresses all aspects of a concept. Through this method, we propose categories that make more sense of the complex phenomenon of hybrid interference. These five categories are international politics, coercive diplomacy, priming, covert coercion, and sabotage and assassinations. This article also identifies problems with referring to activities in the category of international politics as hybrid interference activities. The result is novel because we place all combinations of tools and methods within the concept of hybrid interferences in one of the five above-mentioned categories, and as such have provided a detailed operationalising of the concept in a transparent manner. Purpose: Based on social cognitive theory, this study aims to explore the influence of supervisor bottom-line mentality (SBLM) on employee knowledge behavior (knowledge territorial behavior and knowledge sabotage behavior). The study first investigates the role of an ethical decision-making mechanism (moral disengagement) in mediating this relationship. In addition, it considers the possible boundary conditions to supplement research on the influence of SBLM in the knowledge management field. Design/methodology/approach: The authors collected 256 data points from employees across three stages using convenience sampling. The authors then tested the proposed hypothesis using hierarchical regression and bootstrap methods. Findings: The results demonstrated that SBLM promotes employees' moral disengagement, leading to more knowledge territorial behavior and knowledge sabotage behavior. Furthermore, high power distance orientation among employees exacerbates the ill effects of SBLM according to the first stage of a moderated mediation model. Employees with such an orientation are more likely to respond to a SBLM by exhibiting a higher level of moral disengagement, thus increasing their knowledge territorial behavior and knowledge sabotage behavior. Originality/value: Research on the influence of SBLM in the knowledge management field is limited. This study not only clarifies the relationships between SBLM and two types of knowledge behavior (knowledge territorial behavior and knowledge sabotage behavior) but also enriches the research on the antecedents of these two types of knowledge behavior. Many firms use relative stock performance to evaluate and incentivize their CEOs. We document that such firms routinely disclose information that harms their peers' stock prices, and sometimes explicitly mention the harmed peers, by name, in these disclosures. Consistent with deliberate sabotage, peer‐harming disclosures appear to be aimed at peers whose stock price depressions are most likely to benefit the disclosing firms' CEOs. The pricing effect of these disclosures does not reverse, suggesting that the disclosures contain legitimate information regarding peers' prospects. In sum, our results suggest that relative performance evaluation in CEO pay motivates CEOs to internalize the externalities of their disclosures, and strategically disclose information that harms peers' stock prices, in order to improve their firms' relative standing within their peer group. Oil spillage is common in oil-producing communities of Nigeria, and it impacts negatively on the residents of these communities. This study analysed available research data on oil spillage incidents in these communities to determine their main causes and impacts on the residents. This study highlights the immediate and long-term consequences of oil spills on residents of oil-host communities in Nigeria. A systematic review of published studies was carried out, and 22 studies were identified from the literature search. The main causes of oil spills were identified as sabotage (87%), leakage from corroded pipelines (62%), and equipment failure (45%). Others were mystery spills and operational failures. Unemployment, abject poverty, marginalization, and inaction of government regulatory agencies are enabling factors for sabotage and vandalism of oil pipelines. It was found that exposure to oil spills impacts directly and indirectly on residents of oil-host communities, with accompanying health, socioeconomic, and environmental implications. Oil spills in these communities impact on all facets of their life, thereby infringing on their rights to existence and survival. The major interventions were targeted at improving health services, education, infrastructure, skill acquisition, and employment. These in turn reduced the occurrence of violence, insurgency, and human trafficking in the oil-producing communities. It is recommended that government regulatory agencies should be revamped and repositioned to effectively perform their duties. Interventions should be targeted at addressing the causes of agitation by indigenes by involving them in the decision-making process. Purpose: Drawing on the microfoundations theory and rational choice sociology, this study aims to investigate knowledge-sharing microfoundations through knowledge sabotage behaviours in the workplace. As such, it aims to shed light on the adverse impact of knowledge sabotage on a knowledge-sharing climate. Design/methodology/approach: As a quantitative deductive study, it is based on information collected from 329 employees of European companies by self-administered online surveys. Data validity and reliability has been assessed through a confirmatory factor analysis, and data analysis was carried out by using a covariance-based structural equation modelling technique. Findings: The findings from the empirical investigation supported the baseline hypotheses of the multilevel conceptual model, which is the positive relationship between organizational trust and environmental knowledge sharing. Then, recurring to a microfoundational exploration, this study supports the mediating indirect effect of job satisfaction and knowledge sabotage in affecting knowledge sharing as a social outcome. Research limitations/implications: This study concurs to broaden knowledge-sharing awareness among scholars and practitioners, by focusing on knowledge sabotage as its most pernicious counterproductive behaviour. Furthermore, this research provides valuable guidance for the future development of research based on multilevel investigations. Originality/value: This study builds on the need to explore the numerous factors that affect knowledge sharing in economic organizations, specifically focusing on knowledge sabotage. Purpose: This study aims to investigate the negative interpersonal antecedents, emotional mediators and boundary conditions of knowledge sabotage behavior. Design/methodology/approach: The authors collected data from 275 Chinese employees using convenience sampling and snowball sampling across three stages. Subsequently, the authors used both hierarchical regression and bootstrap methods to test the proposed hypotheses. Findings: The results confirmed that workplace ostracism has positive effects on employee knowledge sabotage behavior both directly and via employee anger. In addition, the authors found that employee bottom-line mentality (BLM) moderates not only the direct effect of workplace ostracism on employee anger but also the indirect effect of employee anger in this context. Employee conscientiousness moderates only the direct effect of workplace ostracism on employee anger and does not moderate the indirect effect. Originality/value: To the best of the authors' knowledge, this study not only explores the influence of workplace ostracism on employee knowledge sabotage behavior for the first time but also elucidates the underlying emotional mechanisms (anger) and boundary conditions (employee BLM and conscientiousness) by which workplace ostracism influences employee knowledge sabotage behavior, thus deepening the understanding of how knowledge sabotage emerges in organizations. Purpose: This study explores the moderated mediation effect, wherein collective mindfulness attenuates the hypothesised relationship between customer incivility, service sabotage and psychological well-being and is supported by the conservation of resources (COR) theory. Design/methodology/approach: Multiwave and multisource data were collected from 315 frontline employees (FLEs) working in 32 Indian bank branches. Using HLM 7.00, the authors tested a multilevel model in which branch-level collective mindfulness moderated the association amongst individual-level customer incivility, psychological well-being and service sabotage. Findings: A higher level of collective mindfulness had a profound cross-level effect on the association between customer incivility and service sabotage through psychological well-being. Originality/value: Distinct from prior research that focussed on individuals' personal resources as a buffer against customer incivility, the authors' study identified branch-level collective mindfulness as a boundary condition that helps employees experiencing customer incivility decrease service sabotage. By uncovering a branch-level variable that reduces the negative impact of customer incivility on service sabotage, the authors' study offers valuable insights for banks to enhance customer service at their branches. Russia is systematically mapping critical infrastructure in the North and Baltic Seas. These activities are intended to unsettle NATO countries and prepare the ground for possible sabotage. The problem is that the international law of the sea does not provide coastal States with clear authority to prevent the collection of intelligence on maritime infrastructure within their Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ s). This article argues that coastal States must nevertheless be able to exercise their sovereign rights with respect to the exploration and exploitation of the EEZ and continental shelf. Consequently, they must be allowed to take the necessary measures to protect the infrastructure serving the exercise of those sovereign rights. This argument could help to establish a legal basis for countering Russian mapping operations in the EEZ s and on the continental shelves of coastal States in the North and Baltic Seas. This study mainly focused on how and why an exploitative leader influences service sabotage via new underlying mechanism, such as distress/boundary condition and procedural/distributive justice by using the COR theory. A time-tagged strategy for the data collection from multiple sources are used. This study demonstrated that procedural and distributive justice attenuates the detrimental effects of exploitative leaders on service sabotage via psychological distress. This study enhances the current research by addressing these critical challenges, and it generates unique insights that can be used by organizational justice practitioners to mitigate the adverse effects of exploitative leaders on their organizations. While Paradiplomacy has received substantial scholarly attention in recent decades, less attention has been given to its antithetical dynamic: counter-paradiplomacy (CPD). This paper fills this gap by providing a comprehensive scrutiny of states' reactive policies against subnational diplomatic engagement. We use a typological analysis to differentiate between various forms of CPD, which is impacted by both the nature of the actors involved and the power asymmetries between them. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the phenomenon of knowledge transfer between employees and coworkers. That is, when and why employees engage in knowledge seeking or knowledge sabotage when confronted with coworkers with higher relative overqualification. Design/methodology/approach: This study collected survey data from 315 employee-coworker pairs in East China at three-time points. Findings: The results showed that when the cooperative goal interdependence between employee and coworker is high, the perception of coworker's relative overqualification will cause benign envy of employees, which in turn promote employees to engage in knowledge seeking from coworker. However, when the competitive goal interdependence between employee and coworker is high, the perception of coworker's relative overqualification will cause malicious envy of employees, which in turn promote employees to engage in knowledge sabotage toward coworker. Originality/value: This research not only expands the theoretical perspective and outcomes of relative overqualification but also enriches the mechanism of knowledge seeking and knowledge sabotage. The article explores the experiences of Black individuals within carceral internal colonies, examining the concept of the "blue gaze," the state of exception, and racialized policing. It delves into the oppressive infrastructure and physical environment that perpetuate feelings of inferiority, suffering, and imminent danger among Black communities. It highlights the systemic sabotage perpetrated by the state, resulting in profound trauma for those living within these spaces.

Knowledge sabotage is alarmingly widespread in the workplace, resulting in detrimental consequences for the victim, organization, and other stakeholders. However, there is a dearth of empirical research on this phenomenon's predisposing and inhibiting factors. Against this backdrop, the current study developed and tested a model in which dispositional greed and cutting corners at work were considered predisposing factors. At the same time, ethical leadership was regarded as an inhibitor. Data were collected in three waves, with a time lag of three weeks intervals, from 322 full-time employees in various organizations spanning different sectors in Nigeria. The measurement and structural models of the study were analyzed with partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results revealed that dispositional greed was positively related to cutting corners at work but not knowledge sabotage. Cutting corners at work and ethical leadership had positive and negative relationships with knowledge sabotage, respectively. Whereas cutting corners at work mediated the positive relationship between dispositional greed and knowledge sabotage, ethical leadership did not moderate the relationship between cutting corners at work and knowledge sabotage. Regarding implications of the findings, management can ensure that unnecessary bureaucratic bottlenecks that drastically slowdown work processes and stringent deadlines that make employees want to take shortcuts to save time are reduced if not completely eradicated. Organizations should also devise specific strategies to ensure that leaders adopt ethical leadership by, for example, making ethical leadership the reference criterion for selecting and evaluating leaders' performance. Since February 24, 2022, new oppositional groups—Feminist Antiwar Resistance (FAR), Stop the Wagons, Combat Organization of Anarcho‐Communists (BOAK), the Russian Freedom Legion, and others—have emerged in Russia. Politically, they range from socialist and anarchist to nationalist or fascist, and in their visual media present a range of anonymous protest subjectivities, from the young feminist female artist to the Molotov cocktail‐throwing anarchist to the army defector. Differences notwithstanding, antiwar groups resemble one another in their use of anonymity and sabotage, departing from the culture of the prewar Russian opposition to Putin. The new antiwar groups seek to demonstrate the existence of a broad decentralized movement, but one that continues, rather than disrupts, historical narratives. This article pays special attention to narratives produced by "railway partisans" currently operating in Russia and Belarus, analyzing how they challenge, through tactic as well as rhetoric, their regimes' uses of World War II history for state‐building myths. I find that antiwar activists claim that sabotage, vandalism, and other forms of material damage represent continuity—rather than break or rupture—with historic forms of grassroots resistance. The diversification of "Big Oil" into uranium mining was a product of a long, entangled history of both the oil and uranium industries. By focussing on the story of the formation of an infamous international cartel allocating the uranium prices during the 1970s, this article explores the controversial role Gulf Oil Corporation played in the uranium mining industry. It argues that Gulf Oil's contribution to the cartel was mainly shaped by the geographical positioning of their uranium mines and the developing knowledge and technologies in the competing oil industry that helped create new economically viable uranium deposits. In this way, this article shows by combining Science and Technology Studies and Business History that the Western oil industry was not a one monolithic entity trying to "sabotage" the development of nuclear energy, but a mutually competitive market where new technologies and knowledge easily spilled over to other energy sectors. The article states that forensic characteristics are the main component of the investigation methodology of any criminal offense and those related to the commission of sabotage are no exception. That is why the author includes the following elements of the forensic characteristics of sabotage: 1) the subject of criminal encroachment; 2) methods of committing a criminal offense; 3) instruments of crime; 4) place and time of the crime; 5) typical traces. Having analyzed the current Criminal Code of Ukraine, it was concluded that the subject of sabotage can be: 1) people - during actions aimed at their mass destruction, causing bodily harm or other harm to their health, as well as mass poisoning or the spread of epidemics; 2) objects that are important for the national economy or defense - during sabotage in the form of explosions, arson or other actions aimed at destroying or damaging such objects; 3) objects of radioactive contamination (territory or others) - during actions aimed at such contamination; 4) animals and plants - during actions aimed at the spread of epizootics or epiphytotics. It is claimed that the method of committing a criminal offense indicates how, in what way a person commits a socially dangerous act, what techniques, methods and means he uses for this. The method of committing a crime is primarily characteristic of a criminal act as an active, voluntary, socially dangerous behavior of a person. Of course, the methods of committing criminal offenses are repeated, because the criminal acts in similar conditions, he has social and psychological typical features, uses certain tools and means of crime. In addition, it was established that sabotage tools can be: various types of explosive devices and substances; incendiary mixtures; firearms or cold weapons; radioactive substances, objects or particles; poisonous substances, etc. As for the place of commission of the crime as a key element of the forensic characteristics of sabotage, it can include: 1) places of gathering (staying) of people; 2) objects that have important economic significance; 3) objects of defense significance; 4) the territory of spread of a contagious animal disease; 5) the territory of spread of infectious plant disease. The article analyzes the historical experience of organizing official activities of the gendarmerie police department of the Finnish Railways during the First World War. The study highlights the specifics of the Grand Duchy of Finland as national outskirts which largely influenced the work of the railway police of the Russian Empire in wartime. Based on the analysis of the body of archival documents, there are determined the main measures implemented by gendarmes to ensure the stable functioning of the railways of the Grand Duchy of Finland, to prevent damage and destruction of infrastructure facilities. Particular attention is paid to the prevention of subversive and espionage activities. There are shown the features of conducting counterintelligence activities by railway gendarmes at border stations and in the hinterlands of Finland. Some of the enemy's approaches to training and sending people to the Russian Empire in order to obtain military information are revealed. The consideration of the factors of the political situation in the Grand Duchy of Finland and the variety of tasks performed by railway gendarmes in wartime made it possible to conclude that their activities on the railroads of the national outskirts were of great strategic importance.

This paper explores the person of David (ca. 1010–1097 bce), king of Israel and Judah, especially his personal, familial, and professional undoing through his adultery with Bathsheba and the killing of her husband, Uriah the Hittite. After situating this event in the corpus of Davidic narratives, the paper examines David's inner world—the David with Bathsheba—by drawing on the contribution of the British object relations theorist, W. R. D. "Ronald" Fairbairn. This paper argues that David relinquished his central ego to the castigations of an active inner critic and to the excitement of his libidinal ego. David, caught between these powerful forces, sabotaged his own reign, violated Bathsheba, became a murderer, and participated in his personal and familial demise. In an agency model with adverse selection, we study how hidden interactions between agents affect the optimal contract. The principal employs two agents who learn their task environments through their involvement. The principal cannot observe the task environments. It is important to note that hidden interactions, such as acts of sabotage or help between the agents, have the potential to alter each other's task environments. Our analysis encompasses two distinct organizational structures: competition and cooperation. Without hidden interactions, the competitive structure is optimal because the cooperative structure only provides the agents with more flexibility to collusively misrepresent their task environments. With hidden interactions, however, the cooperative structure induces the agents to help each other to improve the task environments while removing sabotaging incentives at no cost once collusion is deterred. As a result, the cooperative structure can be optimal in such a case. We discuss the link between production technology and organizational structure, finding that complementarity in production favors cooperative structures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s students across the United States repeatedly seized and in some cases destroyed university computer centers. Supporters and detractors alike have tended to frame these incidents narrowly, in terms of a generalized war against technology. This essay offers a more expansive account, demonstrating that this brief yet intense rash of computer center sabotage was more complex and, frankly, more interesting than a bad case of technophobia. While it was clearly directed against computers, sabotage often had less to do with computerization itself than with imperialism and racial injustice. Saboteurs targeted computational collaborations with the Department of Defense, and they held computers hostage in exchange for increased support for Black students. This does not mean that computers themselves were irrelevant to computer center sabotage. Rather, it pushes us to rethink how computers and other technical devices become political objects. [Purpose] The purpose of the study is to identify means and measures to counteract and prevent cyber sabotage. [Methodology] The research is based on a systematic approach and logical tools (description, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, etc.). Special scientific, general scientific, and philosophical methods are applied. [Findings] The study analyses the possible motives of the suspect in cyber sabotage and unifies classification approaches. Attention is focused on information support for the interrogation of a suspect in cyber sabotage by an investigator to learn the identity of the suspect. Certain features of the sources of obtaining information about a person suspected of committing cyber sabotage are noted. The general characteristics and features of the identity of a cyber sabotage suspect cannot be considered outside the context of other socially dangerous attacks in cyberspace. The development of mechanisms for countering cybercrime in Ukraine continues. [Value] The practical significance of the study is determined in the list of measures and means proposed by the authors to reduce the risk of cyber sabotages and eliminate their harmful consequences. This empirical study examines the mediating role of depersonalization on the relationship between dysfunctional customer behavior and service sabotage. This study further identifies the mediation model is moderated by a caring climate. Participants comprised 81 service managers and 622 employees. Results showed that dysfunctional customer behavior increases depersonalization, which in turn leads to service sabotage, and a highly caring climate decreases the effect of dysfunctional customer behavior on service sabotage through depersonalization. Therefore, service organizations should establish a caring climate to mitigate the impact of dysfunctional customer behavior on service sabotage. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article deals with the organisation and operational activities of the Romanian military intelligence during World War II in the territory of modern Ukraine (1941–1944) based on Soviet counterintelligence documents from the funds of the Sectoral State Archive of the Security Service of Ukraine and the USSR KGB documentary publications. Newly created in 1940, the Special Information Service (SSI), an authority fulfilling the functions of military intelligence and military counterintelligence, set up a special intelligence institution in the theatre of military operations: the Eastern Front Agency (Vulturul), with a network of centres (branches) and subordinate offices and residencies. SSI counterintelligence units managed to inflict significant blows on the Soviet underground and in some NKVD intelligence residencies in Odessa and Mykolaiv. The Romanian special service created training institutions for agents, radio operators, saboteurs, and couriers, as well as units of information and psychological confrontation, considering the study of public consciousness and mental characteristics of the enemy country’s population.

The aim of the article was to attempt to analyze the possibility of the use by the Russian Federation of toxic warfare agents dumped in the Baltic Sea to carry out terrorist acts and sabotage activities. For this purpose, the following research methods were used: historical in order to show the reasons for dumping chemical weapons in the Baltic Sea. However, the main method was the polemological approach. Due to the difficulties with access to information (or its confidentiality), some of the considerations were hypotheses. However, procedures (or rather the lack thereof) provided for in the event of a mass release of poisonous warfare agents into the Baltic Sea were examined. The main conclusion of the article is that none of the countries with access to the Baltic Sea is prepared for the possible use by Russia of chemical weapons deposited there. Usually, this state of affairs is explained by the low probability of such events. However, after taking into account the activity of Russian units, technological progress, and miniaturisation of devices (including military ones that allow remote military operations), it can be concluded that such actions are possible.

Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) are powerful in learning rich network representations that aid the performance of downstream tasks. However, recent studies showed that GNNs are vulnerable to adversarial attacks involving node injection and network perturbation. Among these, node injection attacks are more practical as they do not require manipulation in the existing network and can be performed more realistically. In this paper, we propose a novel problem statement — a class-specific poison attack on graphs in which the attacker aims to misclassify specific nodes in the target class into a different class using node injection. Additionally, nodes are injected in such a way that they camouflage as benign nodes. We propose NICKI, a novel attacking strategy that utilizes an optimization-based approach to sabotage the performance of GNN-based node classifiers. NICKI works in two phases — it first learns the node representation and then generates the features and edges of the injected nodes. Extensive experiments and ablation studies on four benchmark networks show that NICKI is consistently better than four baseline attacking strategies for misclassifying nodes in the target class. We also show that the injected nodes are properly camouflaged as benign, thus making the poisoned graph indistinguishable from its clean version w.r.t various topological properties. The purpose of this research is to better understand the relationship between supervisor social undermining and service sabotage through related mediating and moderating variables among customer-contact service employees. Based on a sample of 316 hotel/motel employees, findings show that supervisor social undermining leads to greater service sabotage. Unethical behavior in the form of supervisor social undermining is positively related to job stress and this stress is exacerbated when ethical conflict exists. Moreover, besides being an outcome from unethical behavior, job stress can subsequently influence additional unethical behavior in the form of service sabotage via its impact on turnover intention.
