Abstract

Abstract We present the study of the decay J/ψ → ρπ. The results are based on of 5.2 million J/ψ events collected by the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M collider. The branching fractions are measured to be B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ (J/ψ → ρπ) = (2.072 ± 0.017 ± 0.062) ∙ 10 −2 and B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ (J/ψ → π + π − π 0) = (1.878 ± 0.013 ± 0.051) ∙ 10 −2, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. Our results are more precise than the previous relative measurements.

Abstract

Abstract Using the 1.32 $$\hbox {pb}^{-1}$$ pb - 1 statistics collected at the $$J/\psi $$ J / ψ peak with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M $$e^{+}e^{-\, }$$ e + e - collider, we measured the branching fractions of $$J/\psi $$ J / ψ meson decays to the final states 2( $$\pi ^{+}\pi ^{-})\pi ^{0}$$ π + π - ) π 0 , $$K^{+}K^{-}\pi ^{+}\pi ^{-}\pi ^{0}$$ K + K - π + π - π 0 , 2( $$\pi ^{+}\pi ^{-})$$ π + π - ) and $$K^{+}K^{-}\pi ^{+}\pi ^{-}$$ K + K - π + π - . The results obtained for the decays $$J/\psi \rightarrow $$ J / ψ → 2( $$\pi ^{+}\pi ^{-})\pi ^{0}$$ π + π - ) π 0 , $$J/\psi \rightarrow K^{+}K^{-}\pi ^{+}\pi ^{-}\pi ^{0}$$ J / ψ → K + K - π + π - π 0 contradict the measurements performed by other groups in the last century, but agree well with recent results of BABAR and BESIII collaborations.

Abstract

In order to study the properties of dense baryonic matter, an accelerator complex is under development at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russia) within the new NICA project. The NICA project assumes the use of accelerated ion beams ranging from protons to gold ions with relativistic energies up to 4.5 GeV/nucleon. To design experiments, it is necessary to have information on the efficiency of the yield of bare gold nuclei formed at the passage of a gold ion beam with energies of about several hundreds of MeV per nucleon through a foil of a specialized stripping station at the output of the booster of the accelerator. In this work, the optimal conditions (material and thickness of the foil and the energy of the ion) for the formation of fractions of bare gold nuclei with a probability of 80–90% have been determined by calculating electron loss and capture cross sections, as well as the dynamics of charge states of gold ions colliding with copper and gold foils at energies of 400 and 600 MeV/nucleon

Abstract

We present a study of the inclusive photon spectra from 5.9 million J/psi decays collected with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M e+e- collider. We measure the branching fraction of radiative decay J/psi to eta_c gamma, eta_c width and mass. Our preliminary results are: M(eta_c) = 2979.4+-1.5+-1.9 MeV, G(eta_c) = 27.8+-5.1+-3.3 MeV, B(J/psi to eta_c gamma) = (2.34+-0.15+-0.40)%.

Abstract

The VEPP-4M accelerator facility with a universal KEDR detector is designed to conduct experiments with colliding electron-positron beams. High-energy physics, nuclear physics, and studies using synchrotron radiation are the main directions of research with this facility. In addition, experiments on poorly explored issues in the physics of beams in the electron-positron storage ring and methodological studies to prepare an experiment aimed at testing corollaries of the CPT theorem for an electron and a positron are regularly conducted at the VEPP-4 facility. A number of works performed in recent years are described: studies to increase the accuracy of comparing the electron and positron spin precession frequencies by the resonant depolarization method; measurements of the count rate of Touschek electrons as a function of the beam energy in a wide range; comparison of the methods for measuring the beam energy spread; a study of the electron beam dynamics when a nonlinear betatron resonance is crossed.

Abstract

A precise τ lepton mass measurement performed at the VEPP-4M collider with the KEDR detector is reported. The mass value is evaluated from the τ+τ− cross section behavior around the production threshold. The result based on 6.7 pb−1 of data is m τ = 1776.81 −0.23 +0.25 ± 0.15 MeV. Using 0.8 pb−1 of data collected at the ψ′ peak, we have also determined that Γ ee B ττ(ψ′) = 9.0 ± 2.6 eV.

Abstract

We report results of experiments performed with the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M e+e- collider. Abstract

Abstract The product of the electronic width of the J/ψ meson and the branching fractions of its decay to hadrons and electrons has been measured using the KEDR detector at the VEPP-4M e + e − collider. The obtained values are ΓeeJ/ψ=5.550±0.056±0.089keV,ΓeeJ/ψ·ℬhadronsJ/ψ=4.884±0.048±0.078keV,ΓeeJ/ψ·ℬeeJ/ψ=0.3331±0.0066±0.0040keV. $$ \begin{array}{c}\hfill {\Gamma}_{ee}\left(J/\psi \right)=5.550\pm 0.056\pm 0.089\kern0.5em \mathrm{keV},\hfill \\ {}\hfill {\Gamma}_{ee}\left(J/\psi \right)\cdotp {\mathrm{\mathcal{B}}}_{\mathrm{hadrons}}\left(J/\psi \right)=4.884\pm 0.048\pm 0.078\kern0.5em \mathrm{keV},\hfill \\ {}\hfill {\Gamma}_{ee}\left(J/\psi \right)\cdotp {\mathrm{\mathcal{B}}}_{ee}\left(J/\psi \right)=0.3331\pm 0.0066\pm 0.0040\kern0.5em \mathrm{keV}.\hfill \end{array} $$ The uncertainties shown are statistical and systematic, respectively. Using the result presented and the world-average value of the electronic branching fraction, one obtains the total width of the J/ψ meson: Γ=92.94±1.83keV. $$ \Gamma =92.94\pm 1.83\kern0.5em \mathrm{keV}. $$ These results are consistent with the previous experiments.
