Diabetes is a chronic metabolic disorder characterised by either the insufficient production or the lack of response to a key regulatory hormone of the body’s metabolism, insulin. Medicinal plants were used for the treatment of diabetic mellitus in traditional medicine systems of many cultures throughout the world. There are many herbs and plants showing strong anti diabetic activity in myrtaceae family, such as Syzygium cumini, psidium gujava, Campomanesia xanthocarpa, Eucalyptus globulus. This review article is to describe the antidiabetic activity of plants belongs to myrtaceae family. Background:Vaginal birth after cesarean section (VBAC) is one of the strategies developed to control the rising rate of cesarean sections (CSs). It is a trial of vaginal delivery in selected cases of a previous CS in a well-equipped hospital. In 1916, Cragin popularized the dictum, once a caesarean section, always a caesarean section. That was the era of the classical CS. In the present era of lower segment caesarean section (LSCS), cesarean-related morbidity and mortality are significantly reduced. The dictum now is once a caesarean section, always an institutional delivery in a well-equipped hospital. The reasons which led to the reversal of the old dictum are based upon the newer concepts of the assessment of scar integrity, fetal well-being, and improved facilities of emergency Cesarean Section. Successful vaginal birth after cesarean section is more comfortable than repeat emergency or elective cesarean section. Antenatal examinations are important in selection for trial of labor, while birth management can be difficult when the patients present at emergency condition. But there is an increased chance of vaginal birth with advanced cervical dilation.Nevertheless, a previous CS does cast a shadow over the outcome of future pregnancies. With present techniques and skill, the incidence of cesarean scar rupture in subsequent pregnancies is very low. The strength of the uterine scar and its capacity to withstand the stress of subsequent pregnancy and labor cannot be completely assessed or guaranteed in advance. These cases require the assessment and supervision of a senior obstetrician during labor. Hence, the present study is undertaken to assess the success and safety of VBAC in selected cases of one previous LSCS and to evaluate the maternal and fetal outcome in these cases. Methods:This prospective observational study was conducted over a period of 18 months from 1stAugust 2019 to 28thFebruary 2021 at the department of obstetrics and Gynaecology, tertiary care hospital Pune, Maharashtra, India. After achieving ethic committee approval, informed consent of patients enrolled for the study taken, a thorough history and physical examination was done as per proforma. Cases were evaluated thoroughly to collect maternal age, gestational age at admission, association of success rate of VBAC and Parity, Mode of delivery, whether instrumentation was required, indication of previous LSCS, indication of caesarean section in repeat emergency caesarean section, history of prior vaginal delivery, interpregnancy interval. Maternal and fetal outcomes in both successful VBAC and emergency caesarean section were observed.Data collected in structured pro-forma, entered in Microsoft Office Excel format, and statistical analysis was performed using SPSS software. The data so collected was presented with graphical representation. Results:Out of 65 patients undergoing TOLAC, a total of 51 patients had successful vaginal birth and for 14 patients emergency caesarean section was needed. Therefore, the success rate of VBAC in this study in 78%. The most common indication of failed TOLAC was fetal distress. Factors affecting success of TOLAC seen in the study were inter-pregnancy interval, fetal weight and previous caesarean section done for non-recurrent indications. No significant fetal or maternal morbidity was observed in this study. There was no fetal and maternal mortality. Conclusion:Trial of labor after one caesarean section should be undertaken in selected patients in well-equipped hospitals where facilities to deal with emergencies are available.Despite the risks, trial of labor after caesarean remains safer option for many patients as there are fewer complications with less maternal morbidity and will lead to a successful outcome in a high percentage of cases. &nbsp

Among air pollution control strategies, air cleaning with Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) has been drawing more and more attention because of the restraints in the production of secondary pollution. AOPs have a wide range of applications such as air (odour elimination, purification), soil (remediation) and water decontamination. Ideally, the photo catalyst, titanium dioxide, is introduced in the top layer of the concrete pavement for best results. In addition, the combination of TiO2 with cement-based products offers some synergistic advantages, as the reaction products can be adsorbed at the surface and subsequently be washed away by rain. The main aim of this research work is to measure the effect of titanium dioxide as photo catalyst in purifying nitrogen oxide (NOX) and Carbon Oxides (COX) on pavement surface and outdoor environment condition. For that, TiO2 is replaced for cement at different proportions of 5%, 10% & 15% in terms of weight in the cement concrete moulds of 10 mm uniform thickness and curing is done for seven days, then same were exposed to the sunlight at Ijoor circle sampling point Rama Nagar Town for 21 days of observation. From the Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) analysis, result it is observed that atom percentage increased maximum of 59.05 for carbon atoms for 10% proportion specimen. Then, check the amount of percentage for carbon atoms adsorbed by 10% proportion specimen at police/Kandaya Bhavan circle and Railway station circle sampling points of Rama Nagar Town for 21 days of observations and the results shows that, carbon atom percentage increased maximum of 42.99 and 58.69 for carbon atoms respectively at above sampling points. From this work, it is conclude that the Carbon atoms and Nitrogen atoms present in the atmosphere will be reduce up to some level when replace 10% of Titanium dioxide with cement in the concrete moulds of 10 mm thickness by Photo catalytic activity.

The current climate change threat by green house gas emissions from the combustion of fossil fuels has necessitated a search for alternative non-polluting, reliable, renewable and sustainable sources of energy such as solar energy and it’s derivatives. The present work focuses on power generation by Plant-Microbial Fuel Cell using Phragmitesaustralis (Reed plant). The plants were grown in fuel-cell, graphite as anode and carbon felt as cathode, separated by proton-exchange-membrane. During anaerobic microbial metabolism of carbohydrates in the roots, protons and electrons are released, the electrons are donated to the anode by the microbes. These electrons can be channeled through a circuit bearing a load to the cathode. In this work, carbon granules as substratum (control), red soil and carbon granules mixture (30:70) as substratum in varied condition was considered. For control substratum, the max.voltage measured was 0.327 V and power density of 2.06x10-3 mW m-2 was obtained. When red soil mixed with carbon granules in the ratio 30:70, the voltage measured was 0.6 V and the power density was found to be 3.78x10-3 mW m-2. When graded red soil (0.0018 m) mixed with carbon granules in the ratio 30:70, the voltage measured was 0.623 V and the power density was found to be 3.98x10-3 mW m-2. The result proves that the plant microbial fuel cell can be used for generating electricity and is a promising renewable energy technology.

Pregnancy is the privilege of experiencing God’s miracles on the earth. Childbirth is a new experience to the primigravida women. It is a time when a woman’s power and strength emerge full force, but it is also a vulnerable time and a time of many changes presenting opportunities for personal growth. Pregnancy and childbirth is a normal life event, yet women are exposed to significant amount of stress. It’s just as important to look after your mental health and wellbeing during pregnancy as your physical health. If you are mentally healthy, you will be in the best position to manage the challenges of pregnancy and life with a new baby. Aim of study: To assess the level of stress and coping strategies during third trimester of pregnancy among primi antenatal mothers with a view to recommend stress relieving strategies to be under taken during the antenatal period. Methodology: A quantitative approach non-experimental prospective correlational research design was chosen for the study. The study was conducted in selected hospital in Kottakkal, Kerala, India. The sample size of 30 primi antenatal mothers admitted in gynaec wards by non-probability purposive sampling technique. After taking the consent, data were collected using socio-demographic performa, structured stress scale, structured coping strategy scale. Data were analyzed and interpreted by descriptive and inferential statistics. Results and Conclusion: The analysis revealed that 70% of primi antenatal mothers experience mild stress and 30% experience moderate stress, 80% of the primi antenatal mothers have good coping strategy and remaining 20% have excellent coping strategy. There is a significant association exists between the level of stress of primi antenatal mothers during their third trimester of pregnancy with selected socio demographic variable gestational diabetes and there is a significant correlation exists between the level of stress and coping strategies among primi antenatal mothers during their third trimester of pregnancy (p value

A quantitative approach, non-experimental descriptive exploratory research designwas used for the study. 30 samples from selected anganwadies of Ponmala panchayath were selected by non- probability purposive sampling technique. Socio demographic data were assessed using socio-demographic performa, effect of selected television advertisement using video assisted checklist and extent of imitation using 5 point Likert scale. Data were analysed and interpreted by descriptive and inferential statistics. Data collection tools included were socio demographic Performa, video assisted checklist and 5 point Likert scale. Results and conclusion: The analysis revealed that, 73.33% of the participants exhibited strong imitating behaviour and 26.67% exhibited moderate imitation behaviour. There is a significant association between the type of character portrayed in the advertisement and extent of imitation behaviour. The present study concluded that there is a significant effect of television advertising on modeling behaviour among preschoolers.

The current research work was carried out to evaluate the genetic diversity associated with thirty cocoa accessions resistant to Phytophthora. The cluster analysis and principal component analysis evaluated the genetic variability among the different genotypes. The highest number of genotypes were observed in cluster III (8) when qualitative traits were considered. In quantitative cluster analysis, most of the genotypes were placed in separate clusters due to high variability in the germplasm. Principal component (PC) analysis showed that the first three PCs with more than one Eigen-value contributed to 79.9 per cent of variability for different traits. When qualitative and quantitative characters were considered along with resistant reaction, clusters with genotypes highly resistant to Phytophthora pod rot were observed. Hybridization programme involving these resistant hybrids belonging to diverse clusters will result in high yielding hybrids with ample resistance.

Lossless mode of High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), the state-of-the-art video coding standard, can be used for distortion-free reconstruction of the input data for a wide variety of applications. HEVC relies on the usage of efficient intra prediction strategies to achieve superior compression than its predecessor H.264. A large amount of spatial redundancy exists in almost all video sequences due to coherence, smoothness and the inherent correlation within the neighboring pixels. In this paper, a context-based intra prediction scheme is proposed to minimize this local redundancy by identifying the edges and textures to appropriately modify the prediction strategy at the pixel level, without further increase in the computational complexity. The variability in the sum of absolute differences and local pixel intensity values are chosen to derive the context of the nearby region around the target pixel in the planar and angular intra prediction modes respectively. The experimental results validate the superiority of the proposed method over the HEVC anchor and other state-of-the-art techniques in the literature.
