Abstract: The $e p\to e^\prime p \rho^0$ reaction has been measured, using the 5.754 GeV electron beam of Jefferson Lab and the CLAS detector. This represents the largest ever set of data for this reaction in the valence region. Integrated and differential cross sections are presented. The $W$, $Q^2$ and $t$ dependences of the cross section are compared to theoretical calculations based on $t$-channel meson-exchange Regge theory on the one hand and on quark handbag diagrams related to Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs) on the other hand. The Regge approach can describe at the $\approx$ 30% level most of the features of the present data while the two GPD calculations that are presented in this article which succesfully reproduce the high energy data strongly underestimate the present data. The question is then raised whether this discrepancy originates from an incomplete or inexact way of modelling the GPDs or the associated hard scattering amplitude or whether the GPD formalism is simply inapplicable in this region due to higher-twists contributions, incalculable at present., Comment: 29 pages, 29 figures

Abstract: The A dependence of charged-particle spectra in π+, K+, and p interactions with Al and Au targets at 250 GeV/c are presented and compared to predictions of the Quark-Gluon String Model (QGSM). It is shown that the A dependence of invariant inclusive charged-particle spectra on the Feynman variable x is very weak between Al and Au targets. The QGSM shows a larger difference between fast-particle spectra for both Al and Au targets and different beam particles. The QGSM prediction for the leading-particle spectrum over an energy range from 250 GeV to 10 TeV in pAu(Pb) reactions is in a reasonable agreement with the results of NA22 data and a cosmic-ray experiment.

Abstract: Utilizing the full CLEO-c data sample of 818 pb − 1 of e + e - data taken at the ψ ( 3770 ) resonance, we update our measurements of absolute hadronic branching fractions of charged and neutral D mesons. We previously reported results from subsets of these data. Using a double tag technique we obtain branching fractions for three D 0 and six D + modes, including the reference branching fractions B ( D 0 → K - π + ) = ( 3.934 ± 0.021 ± 0.061 ) % and B ( D + → K - π + π + ) = ( 9.224 ± 0.059 ± 0.157 ) % . The uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. In these measurements we include the effects of final-state radiation by allowing for additional unobserved photons in the final state, and the systematic errors include our estimates of the uncertainties of these effects. Furthermore, using an independent measurement of the luminosity, we obtain the cross sections σ ( e + e - → D 0 D ¯ 0 ) = ( 3.607 ± 0.017 ± 0.056 ) nb and σ ( e + e - → D + D - ) = ( 2.882 ± 0.018 ± 0.042 ) nb at a center of mass energy, E cm = 3774 ± 1 MeV .

Abstract: Low mass dimuons production has been studied in Pb-Pb collisions at 158 GeV/A . φ, ρ and ω contributions are extracted in different transverse mass and transverse energy domains. Preliminary results of the 1996 run display an increase of the φ/(ρ+ω) ratio, coming from an increase of the φ. Cross sections are presented and temperatures extracted.

Abstract: The deuteron elastic structure function A(Q2) has been extracted in the range 0.7≤Q2≤6.0(GeV/c)2 from cross section measurements of elastic electron-deuteron scattering in coincidence using the Hall A Facility of Jefferson Laboratory. The data are compared to theoretical models, based on the impulse approximation with the inclusion of meson-exchange currents, and to predictions of quark dimensional scaling and perturbative quantum chromodynamics.

Abstract: The beauty to up quark coupling constant |V(ub)| can be extracted from B → ρ e+ ν(e) combined with the form factors for D → K* e+ ν(e) and B → V l+ l- and D → ρ e+ ν(e). Using the entire CLEO-c ψ(3770) → DD event sample, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 818 pb(-1) and approximately 5.4×10(6) DD events, we measure the form factors for the decays D0 → ρ- e+ ν(e) and D+ → ρ0 e+ ν(e) for the first time and the branching fractions with improved precision. A four-dimensional unbinned maximum likelihood fit determines the form factor ratios to be V(0)/A1(0)=1.48±0.15±0.05 and A2(0)/A1(0)=0.83±0.11±0.04. Assuming Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa unitarity, the known D meson lifetimes, and our measured branching fractions we obtain the form factor normalizations A1(0), A2(0), and V(0). We also present a measurement of the branching fraction for D+ → ω e+ ν(e) with improved precision.

Abstract: Spike production is studied in pp and 7r+p/K+p collisions in the beam-momentum range of 205-360 GeV/c. The pseudorapidity distribution of spike centers exhibits two narrow peaks in pp interactions, while having one wide bump in irp and Kp interactions. The position of the peaks is consistent with the expectation from a model of coherent gluon radiation at finite length. The interference between the quark color amplitudes obtained within this model causes two off-center peaks in pp data, but only one central peak in irp and Kp data.

Abstract: The NA22 data onπ−π− correlations are analyzed in terms of a number of two- and three-dimensional parametrizations (Gaussian space-time, Goldhaber, Bowler string-like, Bertsch hydrodynamical, Kopylov-Podgoretskii, etc.). Contrary to the results obtained for e+e− andµp collisions, the Goldhaber parametrization, as well as string-like models, fail in describing the hadron-hadron data. Better fits are obtained in the framework of surface-emitting fireball-like models, both when including and excluding hydrodynamical expansion of nuclear matter. Our results indicate that pion radiation occurs at earlier stages of matter evolution than in nuclear collisions.

Abstract: We analyze a sample of $3\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ quantum-correlated ${D}^{0}{\overline{D}}^{0}$ pairs from $818\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collision data collected with the CLEO-c detector at ${E}_{\mathrm{cm}}=3.77\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$, to give an updated measurement of $\mathrm{cos} \ensuremath{\delta}$ and a first determination of $\mathrm{sin} \ensuremath{\delta}$, where $\ensuremath{\delta}$ is the relative strong phase between doubly Cabibbo-suppressed ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ and Cabibbo-favored ${\overline{D}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ decay amplitudes. With no inputs from other experiments, we find $\mathrm{cos} \ensuremath{\delta}={0.81}_{\ensuremath{-}0.18\ensuremath{-}0.05}^{+0.22+0.07}$, $\mathrm{sin} \ensuremath{\delta}=\ensuremath{-}0.01\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.41\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.04$, and $|\ensuremath{\delta}|=({10}_{\ensuremath{-}53\ensuremath{-}0}^{+28+13})\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}$. By including external measurements of mixing parameters, we find alternative values of $\mathrm{cos} \ensuremath{\delta}={1.15}_{\ensuremath{-}0.17\ensuremath{-}0.08}^{+0.19+0.00}$, $\mathrm{sin} \ensuremath{\delta}={0.56}_{\ensuremath{-}0.31\ensuremath{-}0.20}^{+0.32+0.21}$, and $\ensuremath{\delta}=({18}_{\ensuremath{-}17}^{+11})\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}$. Our results can be used to improve the world average uncertainty on the mixing parameter $y$ by approximately 10%.

Abstract: The angular dependence of Bose-Einstein correlations is studied in interactions of π+ andK+ mesons with protons and nuclei at 250 GeV/c. The pion source is found to be elongated along the interaction axis in the c.m.s., with the ratioa between transverse and longitudinal dimension equal to 0.55±0.06 for the case of proton, 0.53±0.13 for the case ofAl and 0.33±0.21 for the case ofAu target. For meson-proton interactions, indication for an increase of the elongation is found with increasing event multiplicity, pair momentum and particle transverse momentum.

Abstract: A sample of non-diffractive π+p and K+p collisions at s =22 GeV is used to investigate the angular dependence of the particle-particle correlation (PPC) and its asymmetry (PPCA) for soft hadronic data. The results differ strongly from the overall behavior in e+e− data, but agree with that expected for e+e− 2-jet data. For the hadronic collisions, the effect depends strongly on the charge configuration of the pairs and on the rapidity range covered. The FRITIOF Monte Carlo model gives qualitative agreement with the trend of the overall data when Bose-Einstein correlations are included, but differs considerably in the central rapidity region.

Abstract: Using 586 $\textrm{pb}^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data acquired at $\sqrt{s}=4.170$ GeV with the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we report the first observation of $D_{s}^{*+} \to D_{s}^{+} e^{+} e^{-}$ with a significance of $5.3 \sigma$. The ratio of branching fractions $\calB(D_{s}^{*+} \to D_{s}^{+} e^{+} e^{-}) / \calB(D_{s}^{*+} \to D_{s}^{+} \gamma)$ is measured to be $[ 0.72^{+0.15}_{-0.13} (\textrm{stat}) \pm 0.10 (\textrm{syst})]%$, which is consistent with theoretical expectations.

Abstract: Virtual Compton Scattering (VCS) on the proton has been studied at Jefferson Lab using the exclusive photon electroproduction reaction (e p --> e p gamma). This paper gives a detailed account of the analysis which has led to the determination of the structure functions P{sub LL}-P{sub TT}/epsilon and P{sub LT}, and the electric and magnetic generalized polarizabilities (GPs) alpha{sub E}(Q{sup 2}) and beta{sub M}(Q{sup 2}) at values of the four-momentum transfer squared Q{sup 2} = 0.92 and 1.76 GeV{sup 2}. These data, together with the results of VCS experiments at lower momenta, help building a coherent picture of the electric and magnetic GPs of the proton over the full measured Q{sup 2}-range, and point to their non-trivial behavior.

Abstract: The first flavor-tagged amplitude analysis of the decay D0 to the self-conjugate final state K+K-pi+pi- is presented. Data from the CLEO II.V, CLEO III, and CLEO-c detectors are used, from which around 3000 signal decays are selected. The three most significant amplitudes, which contribute to the model that best fits the data, are phirho0, K1(1270)+-K-+, and non-resonant K+K-pi+pi-. Separate amplitude analyses of D0 and D0-bar candidates indicate no CP violation among the amplitudes at the level of 5% to 30% depending on the mode. In addition, the sensitivity to the CP-violating parameter gamma/phi3 of a sample of 2000 B+ -> D0-tilde(K+K-pi+pi-)K+ decays, where D0-tilde is a D0 or D0-bar, collected at LHCb or a future flavor facility, is estimated to be (11.3 +/- 0.3) degrees using the favored model.

Abstract: The first measurements of the coherence factor ${R}_{{K}_{S}^{0}K\ensuremath{\pi}}$ and the average strong-phase difference ${\ensuremath{\delta}}_{D}^{{K}_{S}^{0}K\ensuremath{\pi}}$ in ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{K}^{\ensuremath{\mp}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$ decays are reported. These parameters can be used to improve the determination of the unitary triangle angle $\ensuremath{\gamma}$ in ${B}^{\ensuremath{-}}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\stackrel{\texttildelow{}}{D}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ decays, where $\stackrel{\texttildelow{}}{D}$ is either a ${D}^{0}$ or a ${\overline{D}}^{0}$ meson decaying to the same final state, and also in studies of charm mixing. The measurements of the coherence factor and strong-phase difference are made using quantum-correlated, fully reconstructed ${D}^{0}{\overline{D}}^{0}$ pairs produced in ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collisions at the $\ensuremath{\psi}(3770)$ resonance. The measured values are ${R}_{{K}_{S}^{0}K\ensuremath{\pi}}=0.73\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.08$ and ${\ensuremath{\delta}}_{D}^{{K}_{S}^{0}K\ensuremath{\pi}}=(8.3\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}15.2)\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}$ for an unrestricted kinematic region and ${R}_{{K}^{*}K}=1.00\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.16$ and ${\ensuremath{\delta}}_{D}^{{K}^{*}K}=(26.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}15.8)\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}$ for a region where the combined ${K}_{S}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$ invariant mass is within $100\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{MeV}/{c}^{2}$ of the ${K}^{*}(892{)}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$ mass. These results indicate a significant level of coherence in the decay. In addition, isobar models are presented for the two decays, which show the dominance of the ${K}^{*}(892{)}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$ resonance. The branching ratio $\mathcal{B}({D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{K}^{+}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ensuremath{-}})/\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}\mathcal{B}({D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{K}^{\ensuremath{-}}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+})$ is determined to be $0.592\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.044(\mathrm{stat})\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.018(\mathrm{syst})$, which is more precise than previous measurements.

Abstract: When the electrons stored in the ring of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF, Grenoble) scatter on a laser beam (Compton scattering in flight) the lower energy of the scattered electron spectra, the Compton Edge (CE), is given by the two body photon-electron relativistic kinematics and depends on the velocity of light. A precision measurement of the position of this CE as a function of the daily variations of the direction of the electron beam in an absolute reference frame provides a one-way test of Relativistic Kinematics and the isotropy of the velocity of light. The results of GRAAL-ESRF measurements improve the previously existing one-way limits, thus showing the efficiency of this method and the interest of further studies in this direction., Comment: Proceed. Abstract: A sample of π+p and K+p non-diffractive interactions at √s = 22 GeV is used to investigate factorial multiplicity moments as a function of the CMS opening angle θ between particles. The angular dependence is very different for unlike-charge and like-charge particle combinations. For the latter, factorial moments increase with decreasing opening angle approximately as a power law. The θ dependence is stronger for central production-angle intervals than in the forward and backward regions. The predictions of the standard version of the FRITIOF model deviate strongly from the data, but including Bose-Einstein correlations leads to qualitative agreement.

Abstract: Using a data sample of 2.59 x 10^7 psi(2S) decays obtained with the CLEO-c detector, we perform amplitude analyses of the complementary decay chains chi_c1 -> eta pi+ pi- and chi_c1 -> eta' pi+ pi-. We find evidence for a P-wave eta' pi scattering amplitude, which, if interpreted as a resonance, would have exotic J^PC = 1^-+ and parameters consistent with the pi_1(1600) state reported in other production mechanisms. We also make the first observation of the decay a_0(980) -> eta' pi and measure the ratio of branching fractions B(a_0(980) -> eta' pi)/B(a_0(980) -> eta pi) = 0.064 +- 0.014 +- 0.014. The pi pi spectrum produced with a recoiling eta is compared to that with eta' recoil.

Abstract: We present the results of a Dalitz plot analysis of ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ using the CLEO-c data set of $818\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collisions accumulated at $\sqrt{s}=3.77\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$. This corresponds to $3\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ ${D}^{0}{\overline{D}}^{0}$ pairs from which we select 1259 tagged candidates with a background of $7.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.9$ percent. Several models have been explored, all of which include the ${K}^{*}(892)$, ${K}_{2}^{*}(1430)$, ${K}^{*}(1680)$, the ${f}_{0}(980)$, and the $\ensuremath{\sigma}(500)$. We find that the combined ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ $S$-wave contribution to our preferred fit is $(28.9\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}6.3\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}3.1)%$ of the total decay rate while ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\overline{K}}^{*}(892{)}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ contributes $(65.6\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}5.3\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}2.5)%$. Using three tag modes and correcting for quantum correlations we measure the ${D}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{K}_{S}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ branching fraction to be $(1.058\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.038\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.073)%$.

Abstract: Using ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collision data corresponding to $5.88\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(3S)$ [$25.9\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)$] decays and acquired by the CLEO III [CLEO-c] detectors operating at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring, we study the single-pion transitions from $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(3S)[\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)]$ to the respective spin-singlet states ${h}_{b[c]}$. Utilizing only the momentum of suitably selected transition-${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$ candidates, we obtain the upper limit $\mathcal{B}(\ensuremath{\Upsilon}(3S)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{h}_{b})l1.2\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}3}$ at 90% confidence level, and measure $\mathcal{B}(\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}{h}_{c})=(9.0\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.5\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1.3)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$. Signal sensitivities are enhanced by excluding very asymmetric ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}\ensuremath{\gamma}$ candidates.

Abstract: We report the first observation of the decay ${D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}{e}^{+}{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{e}$ in two analyses, which combined provide a branching fraction of $\mathcal{B}({D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}{\ensuremath{\eta}}^{\ensuremath{'}}{e}^{+}{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{e})=(2.16\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.53\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.07)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$. We also provide an improved measurement of $\mathcal{B}({D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\eta}{e}^{+}{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{e})=(11.4\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.9\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.4)\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$, provide the first form factor measurement, and set the improved upper limit $\mathcal{B}({D}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\phi}{e}^{+}{\ensuremath{\nu}}_{e})l0.9\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}4}$ (90%C.L.).

Abstract: Using 586 pb(-1) of e+ e- collision data at E(c.m.) = 4170 MeV, produced at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring collider and collected with the CLEO-c detector, we observe the process e+ e- → π+ π- h(c)(1P). We measure its cross section to be 15.6±2.3±1.9±3.0 pb, where the third error is due to the external uncertainty on the branching fraction of ψ(2S) → π0 h(c)(1P), which we use for normalization. We also find evidence for e+ e- → ηh(c)(1P) at 4170 MeV at the 3σ level and see hints of a rise in the e+ e- → π+ π- h(c)(1P) cross section at 4260 MeV.

Abstract: We present the first search for the decay ${D}_{s}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\omega}{e}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu}$ to test the four-quark content of the ${D}_{s}^{+}$ and the $\ensuremath{\omega}\mathrm{\text{\ensuremath{-}}}\ensuremath{\phi}$ mixing model for this decay. We use $586\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ of ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of 4170 MeV. We find no evidence of a signal, and set an upper limit on the branching fraction of $\mathcal{B}({D}_{s}^{+}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\omega}{e}^{+}\ensuremath{\nu})l0.20%$ at the 90% confidence level.

Abstract: Using (9.32, 5.88) million {Upsilon}(2S,3S) decays taken with the CLEO III detector, we obtain five product branching fractions for the exclusive processes {Upsilon}(2S){yields}{gamma}{chi}{sub b0,1,2}(1P){yields}{gamma}{gamma}{Upsilon}(1S) and {Upsilon}(3S){yields}{gamma}{chi}{sub b1,2}(1P){yields}{gamma}{gamma}{Upsilon}(1S). We observe the transition {chi}{sub b0}(1P){yields}{gamma}{Upsilon}(1S) for the first time. Using the known branching fractions for B[{Upsilon}(2S){yields}{gamma}{chi}{sub bJ}(1P)], we extract values for B[{chi}{sub bJ}(1P){yields}{gamma}{Upsilon}(1S)] for J=0, 1, 2. In turn, these values can be used to unfold the {Upsilon}(3S) product branching fractions to obtain values for B[{Upsilon}(3S){yields}{gamma}{chi}{sub b1,2}(1P)] for the first time individually. Comparison of these with each other and with the branching fraction B[{Upsilon}(3S){yields}{gamma}{chi}{sub b0}] previously measured by CLEO provides tests of relativistic corrections to electric dipole matrix elements.

Abstract: The correlation of negative particles at small momentum difference and its dependence on multiplicity and on kinematical cuts is studied in π+p-interactions at 250 GeV/c. In terms of the Kopylov-Podgoretskiį parametrization, an average radius of the pion emitting region ofrK=1.59±0.14 fm and a life-time (or emission depth) τ=0.83±0.25 fm are found. The Lorentz invariant parametrization of Goldhaber givesrG=0.85±0.04 fm. Assuming two different sources of pions, their radii are estimated asr1=1.75±0.25 fm andr2=0.60±0.08 fm. An angular and multiplicity dependence of the space-time size of the source is observed. The source is elongated along the collision axis and has larger sizerK at higher multiplicities. The radiusrK decreases with increasing pion pair momentum. The size of the emitting region appears to be larger for low rapidity pions than for pions from the fragmentation region. No evidence is found for a unique reference frame, where the pion source is motionless for each π+p collision, i. e. where the space-time size of the source is definitely smaller than in any other frame.

Abstract: Meson-nucleon quasi-elastic scattering is studied with (semi) inclusive production of a central hadron cluster. The dominant mechanism of central cluster production is double pomeron exchange. The cross section is (39±5±8) μb and (24±6±3) μb for pion and kaon induced reactions, respectively. An estimate of the pomeron-pomeron total cross section σpp is extracted in the interval$4m_\pi< \sqrt {S_{pp} }< 2GeV$. While σpp=0.45±0.10mb is obtained in thef2(1270) region, an almost constant cross section with an average of σpp=0.16±0.02mb is observed outside thef2 region.

Abstract: We report the first determination of the relative strong-phase difference between D0→KS,L0K+K- and D 0→KS,L0K+K-. In addition, we present updated measurements of the relative strong-phase difference between D0→KS,L0π+π- and D 0→KS,L0π+π-. Both measurements exploit the quantum coherence between a pair of D0 and D 0 mesons produced from ψ(3770) decays. The strong-phase differences measured are important for determining the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle γ/ϕ3 in B-→K-D˜0 decays, where D˜0 is a D0 or D 0 meson decaying to KS0h+h- (h=π, K), in a manner independent of the model assumed to describe the D0→KS0h+h- decay. Using our results, the uncertainty in γ/ϕ3 due to the error on the strong-phase difference is expected to be between 1.7° and 3.9° for an analysis using B-→K-D˜0, D˜0→KS0π+π- decays, and between 3.2° and 3.9° for an analysis based on B-→K-D˜0, D˜0→KS0K+K- decays. A measurement is also presented of the CP-odd fraction, F-, of the decay D0→KS0K+K- in the region of the ϕ→K+K- resonance. We find that in a region within 0.01 GeV2/c4 of the nominal ϕ mass squared F->0.91 at the 90% confidence level.

Abstract: The decays of {psi}(2S) into {gamma}pp, {pi}{sup 0}pp, and {eta}pp have been studied with the CLEO-c detector using a sample of 24.5x10{sup 6} {psi}(2S) events obtained from e{sup +}e{sup -} annihilations at {radical}(s)=3686 MeV. The data show evidence for the excitation of several N{sup *} resonances in p{pi}{sup 0} and p{eta} channels in {pi}{sup 0}pp and {eta}pp decays, and f{sub 2} states in {gamma}pp decay. Branching fractions for decays of {psi}(2S) to {gamma}pp, {pi}{sup 0}pp, and {eta}pp have been determined. No evidence for pp threshold enhancements was found in the reactions {psi}(2S){yields}Xpp, where X={gamma}, {pi}{sup 0}, {eta}. We do, however, find confirming evidence for a pp threshold enhancement in J/{psi}{yields}{gamma}pp as previously reported by BES.

Abstract: Using a sample of $25.9\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)$ decays acquired with the CLEO-c detector at the CESR ${e}^{+}{e}^{\ensuremath{-}}$ collider, we report branching fractions for the decays ${\ensuremath{\chi}}_{cJ}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0}$, $p\overline{p}\ensuremath{\eta}$, and $p\overline{p}\ensuremath{\omega}$, with $J=0$, 1, 2. Our results for $\mathcal{B}({\ensuremath{\chi}}_{cJ}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p}{\ensuremath{\pi}}^{0})$ and $\mathcal{B}({\ensuremath{\chi}}_{cJ}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p}\ensuremath{\eta})$ are consistent with, but more precise than, previous measurements. Furthermore, we include the first measurement of $\mathcal{B}({\ensuremath{\chi}}_{cJ}\ensuremath{\rightarrow}p\overline{p}\ensuremath{\omega})$.

Abstract: Based on the high sensitivity of Compton scattering off ultra relativistic electrons, the possibility of anisotropies in the speed of light is investigated. The result discussed in this contribution is based on the gamma-ray beam of the ESRF's GRAAL facility (Grenoble, France) and the search for sidereal variations in the energy of the Compton-edge photons. The absence of oscillations yields the two-sided limit of 1.6 x 10^{-14} at 95 % confidence level on a combination of photon and electron coefficients of the minimal Standard Model Extension (mSME). Abstract: Using a large sample ({approx_equal}11800 events) of D{sup +{yields}}K{sup -{pi}+}e{sup +{nu}}{sub e} and D{sup +{yields}}K{sup -{pi}+{mu}+{nu}}{sub {mu}}decays collected by the CLEO-c detector running at the {psi}(3770), we measure the helicity basis form factors free from the assumptions of spectroscopic pole dominance and provide new, accurate measurements of the absolute branching fractions for D{sup +{yields}}K*{sup 0}e{sup +{nu}}{sub e} and D{sup +{yields}}K*{sup 0{mu}+{nu}}{sub {mu}}decays. We find branching fractions which are consistent with previous world averages. Our measured helicity basis form factors are consistent with the spectroscopic pole dominance predictions for the three main helicity basis form factors describing D{sup +{yields}}K*{sup 0}l{sup +{nu}}{sub l} decay. The ability to analyze D{sup +{yields}}K{sup -{pi}+{mu}+{nu}}{sub {mu}}allows us to make the first nonparametric measurements of the mass-suppressed form factor. Our result is inconsistent with existing lattice QCD calculations. Finally, we measure the form factor that controls nonresonant s-wave interference with the D{sup +{yields}}K*{sup 0}l{sup +{nu}}{sub l} amplitude and search for evidence of possible additional nonresonant d- or f-wave interference with the K*{sup 0}.

Abstract: A search for J/{psi} radiative decay to weakly interacting neutral final states was performed using the CLEO-c detector at the Cornell Electron Storage Ring. J/{psi} events were selected by observing the hadronic decay {psi}(2S){yields}{pi}{sup +{pi}-}J/{psi}. A total of 3.7x10{sup 6} J/{psi} events were used to study the decay J/{psi}{yields}{gamma}+X, where X is a narrow state that is invisible to the detector. No significant signal was observed, and upper limits on the branching fraction were set for masses m{sub X} up to 960 MeV/c{sup 2}. The upper limit corresponding to m{sub X}=0 is 4.3x10{sup -6} at the 90% confidence level.

Abstract: We have measured the inclusive semileptonic branching fractions of $D^0$, $D^+$, and $D^+_s$ mesons. For these measurements, we have used the full CLEO-c open-charm data samples, 818 pb$^{-1}$ at $E_\text{CM} = 3.774$ GeV, giving $D^0 \bar{D}^0$ and $D^+ D^-$ events, and 602 pb$^{-1}$ at $E_\text{CM} = 4.170$ GeV, giving $D^{\ast \pm}_s D^\mp_s$ events. We obtain $\mathcal{B}(D^0 \to X e^+ \nu_e) = (6.46 \pm 0.09 \pm 0.11)$%, $\mathcal{B}(D^+ \to X e^+ \nu_e) = (16.13 \pm 0.10 \pm 0.29)$%, and $\mathcal{B}(D^+_s \to X e^+ \nu_e) = (6.52 \pm 0.39 \pm 0.15)$%, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. From these and lifetimes obtained elsewhere, we obtain the ratios of semileptonic decay widths $\Gamma (D^+ \to X e^+ \nu_e) / \Gamma (D^0 \to X e^+ \nu_e) = 0.985 \pm 0.015 \pm 0.024$ and $\Gamma (D^+_s \to X e^+ \nu_e) / \Gamma (D^0 \to X e^+ \nu_e) = 0.828 \pm 0.051 \pm 0.025$. The ratio of $D^+$ and $D^0$ is consistent with the isospin symmetry prediction of unity, and the ratio of $D^+_s$ and $D^0$ differs from unity, as expected., Comment: 16 pages, available through http://www.lns.cornell.edu/public/CLNS/, published in Physical Review D Vol.81, No.5 (2010).

Abstract: We report a search for the decay $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)\ensuremath{\rightarrow}\ensuremath{\gamma}{\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c}(2S)$ in a sample of $25.9\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{6}$ $\ensuremath{\psi}(2S)$ events collected with the CLEO-c detector. No signals are observed in any of the 11 exclusive ${\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c}(2S)$ decay modes studied, or in their sum. Product branching fraction upper limits are determined as a function of $\ensuremath{\Gamma}[{\ensuremath{\eta}}_{c}(2S)]$ for the 11 individual modes.

Abstract: The possibility of anisotropies in the speed of light relative to the limiting speed of electrons is considered. The absence of sidereal variations in the energy of Compton-edge photons at the ESRF's GRAAL facility constrains such anisotropies representing the first non-threshold collision-kinematics study of Lorentz violation. When interpreted within the minimal Standard-Model Extension, this result yields the two-sided limit of 1.6 x 10^{-14} at 95% confidence level on a combination of the parity-violating photon and electron coefficients kappa_{o+} and c. This new constraint provides an improvement over previous bounds by one order of magnitude., Comment: 4 pages, 4 figures

Abstract: We have searched for flavor-changing neutral current decays and lepton-number-violating decays of D^+ and D^+_s mesons to final states of the form h^+- e^-+ e^+, where h is either ��or K. We use the complete samples of CLEO-c open-charm data, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 818 pb^-1 at the center-of-mass energy E_CM = 3.774 GeV containing 2.4 x 10^6 D^+D^- pairs and 602 pb^-1 at E_CM = 4.170 GeV containing 0.6 x 10^6 D^*+-_s D^-+_s pairs. No signal is observed in any channel, and we obtain 90% confidence level upper limits on branching fractions B(D^+ --> ��^+ e^+ e^-) < 5.9 x 10^-6, B(D^+ --> ��^- e^+ e^+) < 1.1 x 10^-6, B(D^+ --> K^+ e^+ e^-) < 3.0 x 10^-6, B(D^+ --> K^- e^+ e^+) < 3.5 x 10^-6, B(D^+_s --> ��^+ e^+ e^-) < 2.2 x 10^-5, B(D^+_s --> ��^- e^+ e^+) < 1.8 x 10^-5, B(D^+_s --> K^+ e^+ e^-) < 5.2 x 10^-5, and B(D^+_s --> K^- e^+ e^+) < 1.7 x 10^-5., 9 pages, available through http://www.lns.cornell.edu/public/CLNS/

Abstract: Analyzing 600 pb{sup -1} of e{sup +}e{sup -} collisions at 4170 MeV center-of-mass energy with the CLEO-c detector, we measure the branching fraction B(D{sub s}{sup +}{yields}{tau}{sup +}{nu})=(5.52{+-}0.57{+-}0.21)% using the {tau}{sup +}{yields}{rho}{sup +}{nu} decay mode. Combining with other CLEO measurements of B(D{sub s}{sup +}{yields}{tau}{sup +}{nu}) we determine the pseudoscalar decay constant f{sub D{sub s}}=(259.7{+-}7.8{+-}3.4) MeV consistent with the value obtained from our D{sub s}{sup +}{yields}{mu}{sup +}{nu} measurement of (257.6{+-}10.3{+-}4.3) MeV. Combining these measurements we find a value of f{sub D{sub s}}=(259.0{+-}6.2{+-}3.0) MeV, that differs from the most accurate prediction based on unquenched lattice gauge theory of (241{+-}3) MeV by 2.4 standard deviations. We also present the first measurements of B(D{sub s}{sup +}{yields}K{sup 0}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup 0})=(1.00{+-}0.18{+-}0.04)%, and B(D{sub s}{sup +}{yields}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup 0}{pi}{sup 0})=(0.65{+-}0.13{+-}0.03)%, and measure a new value for B(D{sub s}{sup +}{yields}{eta}{rho}{sup +})=(8.9{+-}0.6{+-}0.5)%.
