The issues of human impact on the environment are evident and pose a threat to the health and well-being of future generations. Technogenic disturbances in coal mining sites, such as open pits, excavations, and industrial waste, pose risks to both human health and the environment. Open-pit coal mines not only frequently cause the destruction of natural ecosystems, including landscapes, vegetation, and biodiversity, but they also significantly contribute to greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. Addressing the carbon footprint necessitates not only the use of renewable energy but also the restoration of disturbed landscapes and vegetation, including trees and shrubs. All of this is achieved by implementing biological remediation within technogenically disturbed territories. This process fosters a return of biological balance and establishes favorable conditions for plant and animal life, while at the same time reducing carbon footprint indicators. The biological remediation of areas affected by the mining activities of coal mines can create new economic opportunities. The reclaimed land can be utilized for various purposes such as agriculture, forestry, park development, and tourism, thereby contributing to local economic growth and job creation. When planning measures for land bioremediation, it is essential to analyze all quality indicators of the land. In this case, the selection of technologies such as plants, fertilizers, and microorganisms can effectively restore territories.

The study was carried out on the territory of the Kemerovo region-Kuzbass (Western Siberia, Russia). The purpose of the study was to obtain information on the species diversity and population of big-game animals. The monitoring was carried out on the forest territories of the region’s administrative districts. In the course of remote sensing using an unmanned aerial vehicle, the presence of all types of animals under consideration, except for the bear, was recorded. The deviation of the population number determined using the traditional method of digital technologies varied up to 50%. It was established that environmental measures organized and carried out by the regional administration and hunting farms improved the situation and stabilized the population of the main group of game animals. It was found that when using a sufficiently high sensitivity of the thermal imager (the used thermal imager had a very high sensitivity class ≤ 60 mK at 300 K), long-haired animals, which are characterized by a lower intensity of thermal radiation (for example, wolves) are identified and recognized in the images. The larger the animal and the worse the thermal insulation layer (wool or feathers), the easier it is to identify it in infrared images and the lower the sensitivity requirements of thermal imagers. The ability to recognize and record smaller animals and birds requires additional research on existing technologies. Our research has confirmed the validity of digital remote monitoring methods for managing the wildlife of hunting farms and nature conservation areas of the Siberian Taiga territories.

Cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) implantation procedure has a complication rate of 5-6% according to most studies. Lead perforation is a possible and serious adverse event which can present with a spectrum of symptoms from asymptomatic to sudden death. Diagnostic tools in case of suspected lead perforation are X-ray, transthoracic echocardiography, pacemaker interrogation and computed tomography with the last one being the gold standard. Lead extraction could be done endovascularly or surgically. Transvenous removal is a possible option for active fi xation leads, while removal of passive fi xation leads is preferably done surgically, because of the bulky tip of the lead, which could damage the heart chambers and the vessels. In this article, we present a case of a massive ventricular perforation from a passive fi xation lead, further complicated by a cardiac tamponade. Surgical removal was the treatment of choice with subsequent implantation of a permanent dual-chamber pacemaker.

Introduction Bipolar disorder (BD) often has symptoms similar to other mental disorders (BD), and there are no paraclinical criteria for differential diagnosis. (Geoffroy et al. Bip Dis 2017; 5 7). Published work on MD proteomics is scarce and focused on schizophrenia. (Dmitrieva et al. PeerJ. 2022; 10 e13907). Therefore, it is important to study potential biomarkers of BD using easily accessible material—blood serum (Rhee et al. Transl Psy 2023; 13 44). Identification of proteins involved in the pathogenesis of BD will help in the study of the pathogenetic mechanisms of BD, the development of differential diagnostic methods and pathogenetically based drugs. Objectives Carrying out a comparative proteomic analysis of blood serum from patients with BD and healthy individuals to identify potential biomarkers Methods We analyzed the protein spectrum of the blood serum of 14 patients with BD who were admitted during a depressive episode at the age of 32 [21;52] years with a disease duration of 8[5;11] years. The control group consisted of 10 mentally and somatically healthy individuals corresponding to the gender and age of the BD group. Blood serum was purified from 14 major proteins using affinity chromatography and separated by electrophoresis using the Laemmli method. After trypsinolysis, proteins were identified using HPLC/mass spectrometry on an Orbitrap instrument. Mass spectrometric analysis was performed on the Advanced Mass Spectrometry Core Facility of Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology. Protein identification was carried out using the UniProtKB database using the Mascot search engine. The results were tested for significance using the nonparametric Fisher exact test with Yates correction. Results In patients with BD, qualitative mass spectrometry revealed differential expression of 21 neurospecific proteins. Among them: Protein dispatched homolog 3, Ceroid-lipofuscinosis neuronal protein 6, SWI/SNF complex subunit SMARCC1, Neurogenic differentiation factor 4, Protein furry homolog-like, REST corepressor 1 – are involved in the proliferation, development and differentiation of neurons; Hemicentin-2, Dystrophin, Voltage-dependent L-type calcium channel subunit alpha-1D, Syntaxin-binding protein 5, Small conductance calcium-activated potassium channel protein 1– participate in synaptic transmission of ion transport and form receptors. Conclusions Studying the role of these proteins in BD and their quantitative content in a larger number of patients is promising. Откриването на тумороподобна МС често води до диагностична несигурност, особено ако лезиите се появяват при пациен ти без известно към момента демиелинизиращо заболяване. Супратенториалната ТМС може да бъде отграничена от тумор по някои специфични образни характеристики: несъответствие между големината на лезията и мас-ефектът и; специфичен патерн на контрастиране – отворен пръстен насочен към сивото вещество. Голямо предизвикателство е разграничаването на ТМС от първичен ЦНС лимфом (PCNSL). Подозренията за мозъчен тумор често налагат биопсия, която също може да покаже подвеждаща патохистологична находка. При солитарна тумороподобна лезия в миелона диагностичните усилия са насочени към изключване на спинални интрамедуларни тумори. Представени са два клинични случая, суспектни за тумороподибна МС в главен и гръбначен мозък с обсъждане и предложения за диагностични подходи за прецизиране на диагнозата. Тумороподобната МС е необичайна и трудна за диагностициране форма на първична демиелинизация, поради което е изключително важно интегрирането на клиничните и лабораторни данни с резултатите от образните изследвания и нерядко проследяване на случаите във времето.

Introduction According to recent research violations of the oxidative-antioxidant balance may play an important role in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia, by changing generate, conduct and reproduce a nerve impulse. Antibodies with oxidoreductase activity may be involved in protection against oxidative stress in schizophrenia. Objectives The study was to compare the superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity of IgG in patients with acute schizophrenia and during remission. Methods The study included 20 patients with acute schizophrenia (mean PANSS total score 94,3±14), 18 people with schizophrenia during remission (mean PANSS total score 54,7±9), and 10 healthy individuals. All participants signed informed consent for the research. Isolation of IgG from blood serum was performed using affinity chromatography on Protein-G-Sepharose columns. The homogeneity of the substances is confirmed by the SDS PAGE method. SOD activity of IgG was carried out spectrophotometrically. Statistical processing was conducted with Statistica v.10. Results IgG of schizophrenia patients and healthy individuals have a SOD activity and studied activity is proved to be antibodies intrinsic property. Introduction DNA-hydrolyzing catalytic IgGs have caspase-dependent cytotoxic effects in autoimmune diseases. Recently, DNA-hydrolyzing IgGs have been discovered in schizophrenia. However, their cytotoxic properties have not been studied. Objectives To assess the effect of serum IgGs with DNA-hydrolyzing activity of schizophrenia patients on the cell viability of the SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cell line. Methods Serum of 8 patients with paranoid schizophrenia in the acute phase and 7 mentally and somatically healthy persons were used. IgG was purified from serum by affinity chromatography on Protein-G-Sepharose columns. The DNA hydrolyzing activity of IgG was assessed by the degree of hydrolysis of the pBluescript plasmid. The cell viability of the SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cell line after exposure to purified IgG preparations was assessed by high-throughput screening on the CellInsight CX7 platform (Thermo Scientific, USA) using the fluorescent dyes propidium iodide and Hoechst. Results Of the 8 IgG preparation obtained, 4 drugs had high DNA-hydrolyzing activity. All tested IgG preparations from healthy donors were inactive. One-way ANOVA analysis of the proportion of dead cells of the SH-SY5Y line after exposure to antibodies (0.1 mg/ml) showed no significant differences in the proportion of dead cells (p=0.688 after 24 hours; p=0.831 after 48 hours). Similar results were obtained at a higher concentration of antibodies - 0.2 mg/ml. Conclusions Thus, it has been shown in vitro that IgGs isolated from the serum of schizophrenia patients with or without DNA-hydrolyzing activity does not exhibit cytotoxic properties against the SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cell line. Introduction Difficulties in the diagnosis of bipolar disorder (BD) are associated with a lack of understanding of the mechanisms of its pathogenesis. Identification of proteins involved in the pathogenesis of BD will bring us closer to an understanding of its mechanisms and can help in diagnosis. Objectives The search of proteomic biomarkers of bipolar disorder. Methods We performed a proteomic analysis of the serum of 16 healthy people and 33 patients with BD. Patients were hospitalized in an acute state of the depressive phase, and they did not receive therapy for more than 6 months. Blood was collected before the start of therapy. Serum was purified from major proteins by affinity chromatographyandseparatedby1D-electrophoresis. After trypsinolysis, the proteins were identified by HPLC/mass spectrometry. The ELISA kit was used to determine the amount of zNMDAR1. Results We identified a protein that does not occur in healthy people: a subunit of the glutamate NMDA receptor zeta-1 (zNMDAR1). As a result, we found a statistically significant (p = 0.037) almost fivefold increase in the concentration of this protein in the serum of patients with bipolar disorder (0.64 [0.18; 0.78] ng/ml) compared with healthy individuals. Conclusions Thus, in bipolar disorder NMDAR is damaged, which can lead appearance of their subunits in the serum, and which indicated a violation of glutamatergic neurotransmission. Introduction Alterations in a variety of immune parameters, including abnormal cytokine levels, are known to be found in schizophrenia. These changes can be useful in identifying patients with the most severe immune abnormalities. Objectives To develop approaches to stratification of schizophrenia patients based on cytokine levels using cluster analysis. Methods We recruited 53 patients (25 women/28 men) with a verified diagnosis of simple or paranoid schizophrenia and 37 healthy individuals (19 women/18 men) in our study. Serum levels of IL-1β, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, TNFα, INFα, BAFF, GM-CSF, NGFβ, NRG1, and GDNF were determined using a MAGPIX multiplex analyzer (Luminex, USA). Statistical analysis was performed in Statistica 10. Results Principal component analysis and partial least-squares discriminant analysis showed that the combined multi-cytokine profiles of the studied groups differ. The results of the k-means cluster analysis are presented in Table 1 The most reliable results are obtained by a combination of 4 variable: IL-1β, IL- 4, BAFF and GDNF. Purpose: The rate of spread of HIV pandemic requires study of the genetic variability of the infectious agent. This study allow us to optimize epidemiological investigations and improve the quality of surveillance. The regional features of the HIV epidemic were studied taking into account the genetic characteristics of the pathogen. Methods & Materials: We examined 468 sample of biological material (patients with HIV infection blood from 15 subjects of Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts) from 2014 to 2019. The nucleotide sequences were determined with the ABIPRISM 3500 sequencer, Applied BioSystems (USA). DEONA v1.2.3 (MAG, Russia) software was used to assemble the nucleotide sequences. HIV-1 subtypes were determined using the on-line resources Comet HIV-1 v2.0 and the Stanford University database. Results: We established, that the A1 subtype of HIV-1 still dominates in the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts (80.1% of all new strains researched in the laboratory). Subtype B was much less common(6.9%). Since 2009, isolated detection cases of subtype G (3.6%) have been found, but all strains identified at this time had no epidemiological connection with nosocomial outbreaks in southern Russia in the 90s of the 20th century. Also, the recombinant forms of CRF02_AG, CRF03_AB, which previously had a predominant distribution in West Africa, Southeast and Central Asia there, were detected. In 2010, a recombinant subtype, CRF63_02A1 (6.5%), has been registered in the south of Russia. Such regions as Krasnodar Krai, Rostov Oblast and Volgograd Oblast have the greatest variety of HIV-1 variants. It is proven that the majority of carriers of these subtypes of the HIV-1 strain moved to the south of Russia from the Siberia, the Urals and the Kaliningrad region. Conclusion: The study and monitoring of molecular and biological properties of circulating virus strains make it possible to identify the main chains of introduction and spread of the pathogen to different territories, both within the country and in the global migration process.

The aim of this paper is to define the set guidelines of conception of quality of life and its components, to present the results of the evaluation of quality of working life in an organisation, and to disclose discoveries of the study of the work-family conflict and the balance of work and personal life. This paper follows the analysis of scientific and methodological literature, the methodology of social research and a case study. A model of quality of life was designed, which includes eight domains of quality of life and their factors. This model was used to study the quality of working life in one particular company. The research findings show that studied organization has possibilities to increase their employee’s quality of life and loyalty by improving working conditions and environment. The findings suggest that designed research method is suitable for evaluation of quality of working life and quality of life. It is possible to generalize, that quality of life and quality of working life can be managed, measured and evaluated. Using “The reason for the intention to quit work model” (J.C. Rode, 2007), the research of balance of work and personal life was conducted in a form of a survey in which there participated representatives of two extremely distinct groups according to the nature of their work: creative workers and office workers. It was found that a different nature of work really determines a different work-life balance from the objective point of view. However, hardly has any influence towards the considered work-life balance of the exploratory groups themselves from a subjective point of view. It appears, even though both the creative and office workers are satisfied with their work-life balance, respectively, yet from the objective point of view, personal life of the creative workers suffers from work much more.

Introduction Studies of the pathophysiology of mental disorders indicate the involvement of neurobiological processes, including the release of neurospecific proteins in biological substances. Objectives The purpose of this study was to research the level of neuron-specific enolase in patients with alcohol use disorder and mood disorders during the therapy. Methods The studied groups included patients with alcohol use disorder (AUD, F10.2, ICD-10; n=41), patients with mood disorders (MD, F32, F33, ICD-10; n=39), patients with co-morbidity of AUD and MD (n=31) and 20 healthy controls. Severity of depressive symptoms was assessed with HDRS-17 and CGI-S scales. The concentration of NSE were measured in serum by enzyme immunoassay. Рarticipants of the study were examined with clinical scales and laboratory analysis at baseline and on the 28th day of treatment. For statistical analysis we used the SPSS software. Results The results of the study showed that all patients are characterized by an increased level of NSE (p>0.005 compared with control). Patients with AUD characterized by changes in the concentration of NSE during therapy (p>0.005 compared with patients after therapy). In patients with MD revealed correlation between the level of NSE on the 28th day of antidepressive therapy and the HDRS-17 score before treatment (r=0,421; p=0,018). In patients with co-morbidity correlation between the level of NSE and the CGI-S score before therapy was found (r=-0,537; p=0,001). Conclusions The revealed correlations indicate the relationship between the severity of depressive symptoms and the level of NSE. Introduction Schizophrenia is associated with lower life expectancy due to cardiovascular disease. Metabolic syndrome (MetS) occupies an important place among the main problems. Indicators of hormones regulating metabolism may be appealing candidates as biomarkers of metabolic side-effects. Certain role belongs to genetic factors that might be the basis of sensitivity to development of MetS. Objectives The aim is to study polymorphisms of leptin gene (LEP) and serum leptin concentration in schizophrenia patients with metabolic syndrome. Methods After obtaining informed consent, patients with schizophrenia (ICD-10: F20) were included: 91 patients for biochemical research and 463 patients for genotyping. Patients were divided into two groups: 46 (119) with MetS; 45 (344) without it. Concentration of leptin was measured on an analyzer MAGPIX (Luminex, USA). The purpose of research is to analyze the results of the implementation the author's methodology such as tools of information and communication support to research activities in the field of pedagogical sciences EPrints using the system for the development of information and communication competency researchers. There are proposed a three level for evaluation of researchers information and communication competence: basic level, professionally-functional level and professionally-effective level. While choosing criteria for formation of expertise researchers in the field of pedagogical sciences information and communication competence is taken into account the content of components of the structure of information and communication competence: cognitive; operational and activity; values and motivation; creative. There are identified the perspectives of research that is to further develop methods of using open electronic systems as a means of information and communication support of scientific activities for the development of researchers information and communication competence.
