Humans can receive an outward appearance deliberately or automatically and the neural components are liable for controlling the demeanour contrast in each case. Facial feelings assume the most significant part to perceive the goals of others. In this paper detailed study of steps involved in facial emotion recognition and extraction from different medium is discussed. Finally, a system is proposed here to extract facial information from both grey scale & RGB scale images using Robert’s & Sobel’s Techniques. It is trained by a dataset using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model to predict for the test images which can be verified from the result.

Nitrate and nitrite anions have multifaceted impacts on the environment and human health. We herein report selective recognition of nitrite over nitrate anion inside the cavity of bimetallic azacryptates having p-xylyl spacers. This work reveals a number of binding interactions which play pivotal roles in nitrite anion recognition by rigid metal cryptates.

In today’s world diabetes has become one of the most life threatening and at the same time most common diseases not only in India but around the world. Diabetes is seen in all age groups these days and they are attributed to lifestyle, genetic, stress and age factor. Whatever be the reasons for diabetics, the outcome could be severe if left unnoticed. Currently various methods are being used to predict diabetes and diabetic inflicted diseases. In the proposed work, we have used the Machine Learning algorithms Support Vector Machine (SVM) & Random Forest (RF) that would help to identify the potential chances of getting affected by Diabetes Related Diseases. After pre-processing the data, features which influences the prediction are selected by implementing step forward and backward feature selection. The Principle Component Analysis (PCA) dimensionality reduction method is analyzed after the selection of specific features and the accuracy of the prediction is 83% implementing Random Forest (RF) which is significant in comparison with Support Vector Machine (SVM) with accuracy of 81.4%.

Gypsy "Narikuravars" constituted separate sociocultural groups having distinct cultures, customs, traditions, and lifestyles. Oral health-seeking behavior of this group remains to be an ignored part. This study aims to assess the oral hygiene practices and knowledge on periodontal diseases and therapy among Gypsy Narikuravars in Puducherry.The total study population consisted of 100 subjects, and a performed validated pro forma about oral hygiene practices and knowledge on periodontal diseases was used.There is no significant association between sociodemographic factors and knowledge on periodontal disease and therapy. Majority (90%) of the participants have poor knowledge of periodontal disease and therapy. 56% of the participants used their fingers to clean the teeth, and very few subjects (13%) used toothbrush to clean their teeth, and most of the participants (92%) brushes once daily using manual method.The practice of poor oral hygiene and lack of knowledge on periodontal disease and therapy was observed. Hence, the implementation of oral health programs and provision of comprehensive health services for these Gypsy population should be a high priority.

Transformation of nitrite to nitric oxide at transition metal sites is of significant interest due to its biogeochemical and physiological relevance. This report illustrates the synthesis and structural characterization of a novel mononuclear nitritocopper(II) complex [L1]Cu(κ2-O2N) supported by a tridentate ligand bearing pyrazole and phenolate moieties. Moreover, oxygen-atom-transfer (OAT) reactivity of nitrite anion at a copper(II) site in [L1]Cu(κ2-O2N) is illustrated with a detailed kinetic analysis revealing the mechanism for the reduction of nitrite to nitric oxide. This result implies the possibility of copper(II) mediated oxygen-atom-transfer (OAT) reactivity of nitrite in the presence of oxophilic functionalities in the biological milieu.

Objective Proinflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-1 (IL-1) are found in elevated levels in diseased or injured tissues and promote rapid tissue degradation while preventing stem cell differentiation. This study was undertaken to engineer inflammation-resistant murine induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) through deletion of the IL-1 signaling pathway and to demonstrate the utility of these cells for engineering replacements for diseased or damaged tissues. Methods Targeted deletion of the IL-1 receptor type I (IL-1RI) gene in murine iPSCs was achieved using the RNA-guided, site-specific clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat (CRISPR)/Cas9 genome engineering system. Clonal cell populations with homozygous and heterozygous deletions were isolated, and loss of receptor expression and cytokine signaling was confirmed by flow cytometry and transcriptional reporter assays, respectively. Cartilage was engineered from edited iPSCs and tested for its ability to resist IL-1–mediated degradation in gene expression, histologic, and biomechanical assays after a 3-day treatment with 1 ng/ml of IL-1α. Results Three of 41 clones isolated possessed the IL-1RI+/− genotype. Four clones possessed the IL-1RI−/− genotype, and flow cytometry confirmed loss of IL-1RI on the surface of these cells, which led to an absence of NF-κB transcription activation after IL-1α treatment. Cartilage engineered from homozygous null clones was resistant to cytokine-mediated tissue degradation. In contrast, cartilage derived from wild-type and heterozygous clones exhibited significant degradative responses, highlighting the need for complete IL-1 blockade. Conclusion This work demonstrates proof-of-concept of the ability to engineer custom-designed stem cells that are immune to proinflammatory cytokines (i.e., IL-1) as a potential cell source for cartilage tissue engineering.

There is a big demand and supply gap in the education field in India. Resource crunch in higher education is being felt in a serious way. Massive expenditure is required to expand, improve and bring it to the world standards. Setting up infrastructure for the laboratory requires heavy initial investments, which start up colleges find difficult to afford. A solution to this problem is by developing a virtual control system laboratory simulation module using LabVIEW and uploading it in the common university server. With proper authentication, students of the affiliated colleges can access this module and carry out their experiments virtually. A LabVIEW module of 9 OFF-line experiments and one ON-line experiment has been created along with tutorials. Thus the student gains deeper understanding of theoretical and practical concepts of the control system. Of late, smart phones have grown significantly in terms of both processing and user interface which will satisfy the growing ubiquitous demands of user. We strongly perceive that limitations in existing tracking based applications will cripple the scalability of using mobile phones in any location, at any time, by anyone. Hence, demanding the need for Ubiquitous applications to be deployed in a smart phone. This paper aims at developing an integrated application namely Location Based Intelligent Mobile Organizer that will facilitate user with location aware services. Retailers could also publish their product discount information by registering into our authorized web site. All users with this loaded application will reap immense benefit through this application. This intelligent observer module is developed using Jdk 6, Eclipse3.5 (Galileo) and Android 2.2 (Froyo), webserver, installed on Windows Operating System. Being at a point of interest (POI), user will be able associate task and view the discount information as mobile alerts. This observer application is integrated into a pervasive device and can form as an integral part of our routine activities.

The discovery of 1p and 19q chromosomal arms deletion in glial tumors influences both more objective diagnosis and more accurate prediction of chemotherapy response. As a result an attempt has been made to detect deletion using fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH) and analyzed its prognostic value in a cohort of glial tumor patients from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center Kochi. FISH was performed on 66 FFPE tissue sections by using Vyis LSI 1p36/LSI 1q25 and LSI 19p13/LSI 19q13dual coloured FISH probe sets. Signals were scored from at least 150-250 non-overlapping, intact nuclei. 163 cases were analyzed. Both 1p and 19q deletions was observed only in 28/163 (17.17%), - 1p/+ 19q deletion 80/163 (49.07%) and+1p/-19q deletion 55/163(33.74%) . In this work presented the FISH was successfully applied to identify deletion 1p/19q. Its incidence depends on the type of diagnosed gliomas. In contrast to reported data, the present study reveals 49.07% deletion - 1p/ + 19q. Deletions also have prognostic significance in the test group what constitutes the basis for inclusion of determining deletion 1 p/19q into diagnostic and treatment algorithm.

Introduction: corneal ulcers secondary to trauma can often pose a clinical challenge. the causative pathogen is at times an unusual and resistant microorganism which may not be identified by conventional laboratory techniques. case report: A 45-year-old immunocompetent woman with a history of injury of right eye with a cow’s tail was diagnosed to have fungal corneal ulcer. sporulation of the isolate occurred after prolonged incubation and the pathogen was found to be Nigrospora sphaerica. the number of cases of true infection caused by this fungus amount to only five in available literature. the patient did not improve with medical management using natamycin and ketoconazole and underwent voriconazole therapy. conclusion: Delayed sporulation of
