To explore the expression and biological functions of linc00337 in colorectal cancer (CRC), as well as its underlying mechanism.The relative expression of linc00337 in 47 cases of CRC tissues and cells was detected via quantitative Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR). The si-linc00337 interference sequences were designed and transiently transfected into CRC cells. The interference efficiency was detected via qRT-PCR. Regulatory effect of linc00337 on proliferation of CRC cells was detected via colony formation assay. Cell cycle distribution and apoptosis rate after interference in linc00337 expression were determined using flow cytometry. Moreover, the effects of linc00337 knockdown on cell migration and invasion were detected using transwell assay. At last, the effect of si-linc00337 on the MEK/ERK signaling pathway was detected using Western blotting.The results of qRT-PCR showed that among the 47 cases of CRC tissues, the expression of linc00337 was up-regulated in 40 cases. Similarly, it was highly expressed in CRC cell lines. The results of colony formation assay manifested that cell proliferation declined after interference in linc00337 expression. The results of flow cytometry and transwell assay showed that interference in linc00337 expression arrested the cell cycle in G1/G0 phase, increased the apoptosis rate, and inhibited the invasion and migration of CRC cells. According to the results of Western blotting, expressions of molecular markers in the MEK/ERK pathway after interference in linc00337 expression were significantly changed.Linc00337 is up-regulated in CRC tissues and cells. Interference in linc00337 expression can inhibit cell proliferation, migration, and invasion and promote apoptosis through the MEK/ERK pathway.

Currently, the commercial antimony metallurgy is mainly based on pyrometallurgical processes and oxidative volatilization of Sb2S3 is an essential step. This step includes the problems of high energy consumption and low concentration of SO2 pollution. Aiming at these problems, we present a new method of sulfur-fixing roasting of antimony sulfide. This method uses ZnO as a sulfur-fixing agent, and roasting with Sb2S3 was carried out at 673 K~1073 K to produce Sb2O3 and ZnS. By calculating the thermodynamics of the reactions, we can conclude that the Gibbs Free Energy Change (?G?) of roasting reaction is below -60 kJ/mol and the predominance areas of Sb2O3 and ZnS are wide and right shifting with the temperature increase, which all indicates that this method is theoretically feasible. The reacted products between Sb2S3 and ZnO indicated that the reaction began at 773 K and finished approximately at 973K. We used the Ozawa-Flynn-Wall, Kissinger and Coats-Redfern method to calculate the kinetics of the roasting reaction. The conclusion is as follows: The average values of apparent activation energy (E) and natural logarithmic frequency factor (lnA) calculated by Ozawa-Flynn-Wall, Kissinger and Coats-Redfern were 189.72 kJ?mol-1 and 35.29 s-1, respectively. The mechanism of this reaction was phase boundary reaction model. The kinetic equation is shown as follow, where ? represents reaction fraction: 1-(1-?)1/3 = 2.12 x1015 exp(-1.90x105/RT) t.

Zirconium isotopes have the potential to trace both magmatic differentiation and crustal evolution, as well as deep Earth processes. Zirconium is compatible in bridgmanite where it has a higher coordination number than in silicate melt, implying that Zr isotopes could be fractionated during magma ocean crystallisation. We report the Zr isotopic composition of 31 komatiites from around the globe, ranging in age from 2.41 to 3.55 Ga. The delta Zr-94/90 (per mille deviation of Zr-94/Zr-90 from IPGP-Zr standard) values for the komatiites are homogeneous at 0.030 +/- 0.049 parts per thousand (all errors are 2 s.d.), and consistent with associated basaltic rocks (0.048 +/- 0.032 parts per thousand). These results, identical within uncertainty of the bulk silicate Earth estimate from modern basalts, suggest that the mantle Zr isotope composition has been constant since at least 3.55 Ga. Combining the isotopic compositions of komatiites and basalts of all ages we suggest a conservative delta Zr-94/90 = 0.040 +/- 0.044 parts per thousand (n = 72) for the mantle composition. Several komatiite systems that we analysed in this study, including Schapenburg, Komati, and Weltevreden, have been previously argued to have isotope signatures consistent with magma ocean crystallisation processes. However, their Zr isotope compositions are indistinguishable from other komatiites, implying that bridgmanite crystallisation did not fractionate Zr isotopes to any measurable extent.

e18547 Background: Even though local and regional controls have been substantially improved in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) in the contemporary era of intensity-modulated radiotherapy with extensive use of combined chemotherapy, the distant metastasis becomes the major cause of treatment failure and cancer-related death. To date, the genes contributed to metastasis of NPC is still unclear. The aim of this study was to identify the genes which lead to distant metastasis. Methods: A total of forty primary nonkeratinizing NPC patients were diagnosed at Shandong Cancer Hospital in this study. The formaldehyde-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) taken from primary sites or metastatic lymph nodes were performed next-generation sequencing (NGS) panel (Shanghai OrigiMed Co., Ltd.) to determine variated genes, such as single nucleotide variants (SNV), copy number variants (CNV) and rearrangement. These patients were followed up until Febr. 8, 2020. The genes related to distant metastasis were identified by logistic regression. Moreover, this study compared the frequency of mutated gene between our data and Catalog of Somatic Mutations in Cancer (COSMIC) database by the Chi-square test or Fisher’s exact test. Results: The study included 31 men and 9 women. The median age of the patients at diagnosis was 47 years (range 15–71 years). With the median follow-up of 10.6 months (range 16.8–72.3 months), 7 patients had distant metastasis and 1 undergone recurrent. Notably, EMSY and MCL1 variants were contributed to NPC distant metastasis (OR = 31, P = 0.049). The top eight SNV of genes in our study were CYLD, KMT2D, BAP1, EP300, TP53, ATM, NFKBIA and SPEN. When compared to COSMIC database, the mutant frequencies of CYLD, EP300 and BAP1 in our study were significantly higher than that of COSMIC database. However, the mutant frequencies of IDH2 and KMT2C were significantly lower than COSMIC database. Conclusions: This is the first study which suggests that EMSY and MCL1 variants were involved in the metastasis of NPC. The study identified 5 genes, which mutation frequency is significantly different from the COSMIC database. The study provided a molecular basis for a comprehensive understanding of, and exploring targeted therapies for nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Laryngeal contact granuloma, also known as vocal cord granuloma, is the non-neoplastic inflammatory granulation tissue occurring in the vocal cord around. The cause is unclear, morbidity and cure rate is low, the recurrence rate is high, leading to a poor clinical treatment. But some symptoms of the sound disorder, pharyngeal foreign body sensation seriously affect the quality of life of patients, increase the psychological burden of patients. With the increasing awareness of the disease, the deepening of the research, there have been different treatment methods. This paper reviews the previous literatures, and summarizes LCG treatment for the status.

To compare the fracture resistance of roots of mandibular premolar with different apical preparation diameters.Sixty single-rooted single canal permanent mandibular premolar teeth extracted newly for orthodontic reason without immatureness, fracture or cracks were selected, with a curvature less than 10°, and internal length: short diameter of less than 2 at a level 5 mm from the apex. All the teeth were decoronated, leaving roots 13 mm in length. The initial apical file size for the teeth was ≤15#. The roots were assigned to 6 groups based on weights with random block design. Group A: blank control group, no instrumentation was performed. Groups B-F: the master apical file (MAF) was 40#, 45#, 50#, 55# and 60#, respectively. In the five experimental groups the roots were instrumented using hand files with step-back technique at 1 mm increments, resulting in a taper of 0.05. The irrigant used was distilled water. After mounted in acrylic resin, all the teeth were subject to vertical loading using an Instron testing machine until fractured. The occurrence of fractures was detected when the applied load suddenly decreased. The fracture load values and fracture modes were recorded. One-way ANOVA and post-hoc Tukey test were used to determine the difference of fracture load values between the groups (P0.05). Chi-square tests were used to compare the modes of root fracture.Five experimental groups exhibited lower fracture load values than that of control group [(1 444±155) N]. The mean fracture load values for roots instrumented to an apical diameter of 50# [(1 027±128) N], 55# [(994±150) N] and 60# [(983±166) N] were significantly lower than that of control group and 40# group [(1 339±131) N] and 45# [(1 287±144) N] (P0.05). Buccal-lingual fracture, mesio-distal fracture and compound fracture occurred 55%, 13% and 32%, respectively. No difference of fracture mode was detected in the six groups.The fracture resistance reduced significantly when the roots were instrumented to an apical diameter of 50# or larger.

To study the efficacy of intralesional steroid injection combined with acid-suppressive therapy for laryngeal contact granuloma.Eighty eight patients with laryngeal contact granuloma diagnosed from March 2010 to October 2014 were reviewed.Twenty-one patients took intralesional steroid injection combined with acid-suppressive therapy as experimental group (4 patients in initial treatment group, 17 patients in non-initial treatment group), other 67 patients only received acid-suppressive therapy as control group. The clinical data of these patients was analyzed.In experimental group, 15 patients were cured (71.43%) and the average cure time were (3.80±0.43) months, total injection time was 2-6 times and the median was 3 times. In control group, 50 patients were cured (74.63%) and the average cure time were (5.31±0.38) months. No any systemic and local complications were found in all the patients during the follow-up period of 6-42 months. The cure rate had no significant difference between the experimental group and control group, but the cure time in the former group was shorter than that in the latter group (Z=-2.093, P=0.036). In the experimental group, the initial treatment patients had no significant difference in cure rate and cure time compared with non initial patients (χ(2)=1.112, P=0.544; Z=0.000, P=1.000).Intralesional steroid injection combined with acid-suppressive therapy can be recommended as a safe and effective alternative therapy for laryngeal contact granuloma, especially the refractory granuloma.

Interfacial exchange coupling and magnetization reversal characteristics in the perpendicular heterostructures consisting of an amorphous ferrimagnetic (FI) TbxCo100–x alloy layer exchange-coupled with a ferromagnetic (FM) [Co/Ni]N multilayer have been investigated. As compared with pure TbxCo100–x alloy, the magnetization compensation composition of the heterostructures shift to a higher Tb content, implying Co/Ni also serves to compensate the Tb moment in TbCo layer. The net magnetization switching field Hc⊥ and interlayer interfacial coupling field Hex, are not only sensitive to the magnetization and thickness of the switched TbxCo100–x or [Co/Ni]N layer, but also to the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy strength of the pinning layer. By tuning the layer structure we achieve simultaneously both large Hc⊥ = 1.31 T and Hex = 2.19 T. These results, in addition to the fundamental interest, are important to understanding of the interfacial coupling interaction in the FM/FI heterostructures, which could offer the guiding of potential applications in heat-assisted magnetic recording or all-optical switching recording technique.

In order to understand the pollution characteristics of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in west Bohai Bay, China, the sixteen PAHs listed by US EPA in surface seawater were investigated in the Qinhuangdao (QHD), Caofeidian (CFD) and Huanghuagang (HHG) areas. Distribution and composition of PAHs in the dissolved phase (DP) and the suspended particulate associated phase (SP) were detected by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC-MS), respectively. An ecological risk assessment was evaluated using risk quotients (RQ). The results showed that the 16 PAHs were prevalent in west Bohai Bay and the 2-3 rings PAHs were the predominant chemicals. The QHD area had the highest concentration of total PAHs (TPAHs), which ranged from 186.3 to 531.3 ng/L in DP and 222.7 to 715.7 ng/L in SPM. In all three areas, the PAHs levels in SPM were higher than those in DP. The risk assessment showed that there was a relatively low potential ecological risk of PAHs in the coastal regions of Bohai Bay.

In order to understand the risk of polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) existing in sediment for years, the accumulation of PBDEs in sediment aged for 2 years to fish was investigated. Simulated aquatic system microcosms were conducted with PBDE contaminated sediment aged for 2 years and carps were cultured in the microcosms for 20 days. PBDE concentrations in carp tissues were analyzed to estimate the bioavailability of aged PBDEs in carps. The main spiked PBDE congeners were detected in sediment even though the contaminated sediment was aged for 2 years. Similarly, the five PBDE (BDE-28, 47, 100, 153 and 154) congeners which probably were bioaccumulated by carp were detected in fish tissues, indicating that PBDEs could be bioaccumulated after aging for 2 years. The PBDEs distribution revealed that the concentrations of polybrominated diphenyl ethers in tissues of Cyprinus carpio is in this order of magnitude: gut > liver > gill > fillet. The PBDEs concentrations in fillet were as high as 67.9 ng/g dry wt, in which BDE-47 contributed almost 50% in profile.

We show that the model of charge-transfer fluctuation with LO phonons can unify the interpretation of the infrared features and the phonon softening at about 55 meV measured by neutron scattering experiments in high temperature superconductors. Based upon this model we demonstrate that reflectivity ratio of superconducting state to normal state is strongly modified as a result of strong electron-phonon interaction which is different from Holstein mechanism. A broad peak in the ratio reflectivity develops around the peak position of different neutron phonon density of states. This peak becomes stronger and shifts to a higher frequency as the coupling increases at lower temperatures. This situation complicates the interpretation of the ratio reflectivity peak as the superconducting gap.

7552 Background: There are different clinical factors associated with radiation-induced lung injury in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT) that have been studied, whereas their value are not same. According to their source, the factors can be sorted to four types. Methods: 119 NSCLC patients treated with 3D-CRT during 2003–2005 were retrospectively reviewed. They were divided into two arms according to whether grade >2 radiation- induced lung injury named by RTOG 3.0 were observed. The clinical parameters related to radiation-induced lung injury were divided into four sorts: general state of health and systematic sickness (gender, age, KPS, COPD, heart disease, diabetes), tumor-related factors (location, stage, volume), radiotherapy-related factors (dose, fraction per day, target margin, dosimetric parameters), other treatment factors (chemotherapy timing and agents). Univariate and multivariate analyses of the relation between clinical parameters and radiation pneumonitis were performed. Results: Occurrence of grade >2 radiation-induced lung injury was observed in 17/119 patients. In univariate analyses, GTV (p=0.009), ipsilateral mean lung dose (MLD)(p=0.017), ipsilateral lung V20 (p=0.036)and total lung MLD (p=0.034) were associated with radiation-induced lung injury. In multivariate analysis, ipsilateral lung MLD was the only independent factor associated with radiation-induced lung injury (p=0.019). A significant correlation was also observed between the three volumetric parameters (p≤0.001). Conclusions: Ipsilateral lung MLD was the only independent factor associated with grade >2 radiation-induced lung injury in our study, so that it should be included as a dose constraint factor for 3D-CRT of NSCLC.
