Background and Aim: Coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS) are becoming the major cause of clinical and subclinical bovine mastitis around the world. This study aims to estimate the prevalence, antibiogram, and frequency of the methicillin-resistant (MR) (mecA) gene in CNS collected from cows with subclinical mastitis. Materials and Methods: Thirty-four milk samples were collected from 20 cows. Fifteen subclinical mastitis samples (∼44.12%) were identified as CNS isolates. The Vitek2 compact system method was employed for the identification of the species. Furthermore, antibiotic sensitivity tests were performed against 10 different antibiotics for CNS strains. The mecA gene from isolated CNS was detected by conventional polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Results: Staphylococcus haemolyticus was the most predominant isolated species with an incidence of 33.3% (5/15 isolates), followed by 26.7% for Staphylococcus sciuri and Staphylococcus vitamins (4/15 isolates), and 13.3% for Staphylococcus vitulinus (2/15 isolates), respectively. The highest resistance rates were determined to be 40% (6/15 isolates) against penicillin and oxacillin (OX), 33.3% (5/15 isolates) against clindamycin, 13% (2/15 isolates) against chloramphenicol, amoxicillin, and erythromycin, and 5% (1/15 isolates) against ciprofloxacin, respectively. The results revealed that the isolates were resistant to one or more antimicrobial agents, with five isolates displaying multiple antimicrobial resistance. Furthermore, the results exhibit that all CNS isolates had the mecA gene at 310 bp with a 100% frequency. Moreover, for detecting MR isolates, there are significant discrepancies between phenotypic and genotypic approaches, and only 6/15 CNS isolates phenotypically demonstrated OX resistance. Conclusion: The results emphasize the necessity of frequent monitoring of phenotypic and genotypic profiles of CNS isolates to ensure effective control measures and the prevention of multidrug resistance strain evolution.

Coronary artery (CA) disorders are among the major causes of morbidity and mortality in humans. We attempt to explain CA anatomy and its variations in a simple, concise, and understandable way to help clinicians deal with the various disorders. There are two main arteries: right coronary artery (RCA) and left CA. The left bifurcates into two terminal branches: left anterior descending artery (LAD) and left circumflex artery (LCX). The commonest anatomical variant is trifurcation of left main coronary artery (LMCA) with presence of ramus intermedius artery (RIM), abnormal origin of LCX from RCA or right sinus of Valsalva, abnormal CA origin from unusual aortic sinus in-between aorta and pulmonary trunk, myocardial bridging, CA fistula and aneurysm. The RCA may arise abnormally from the left sinus of Valsalva rather than the usual origin from the right sinus. Furthermore, most cases of abnormal CA fistulas affect the RCA where the artery opens into the right heart chambers, pulmonary trunk, or coronary sinus. Although their incidence is relatively rare, coronary abnormalities are of critical importance in medical practice. Identification of normal and abnormal anatomy of CA is essential because not knowing one of the differences can lead to loss of a person’s life.

Underwater Optical Communication System (UOWC) has been used nowadays in modern optical communication systems. It has many militaries, industry, and scientific community applications. A compressed laser source was obtained in this experiment after using a pulse duration of 9 ns, peak power of 1.2297 mW, full width half maximum (FWHM) 286 pm, and a wavelength of 1546.7 nm. This work used three designs Single, cascaded, and nested, designed based on polarization-maintaining Mach-Zander interferometer (PM-MZI) this fiber etched. All three designs are tested in two different ways. The first structure consists of three variable lengths of (PMF) (8, 16, and 24) cm with etching 30 min. The Second structure has three constants of (PMF) 10 cm lengths with different etching times (10, 20, and 30) min correspond to (112.3, 86.7, 72.8) μm cladding diameter respectively. Four samples of water (seawater, shallow water, coastal water, distilled water) are regarded. This paper studies the effect of the four water samples placed on the fibers used in two structures within different three designs. The results obtained were single fiber, the compression factor FC = 1.1 when the PMF length is 24 cm and thickness cladding is 72.8 μm under shallow water. The peak power is (0.11) PW, the central wavelength is 1546.427 nm, and FWHM is 256 pm. while the cascaded shows FC = (1.5) in distilled water with variable fiber lengths. Finally, in design nested, FC is (1.2) in shallow water with constant fiber lengths.

This study examined the effects of adding iron to rice hulls samples (RHs) on the thermal degradation to prepare nano silica and iron oxide-silica mixtures. Iron is precipitated in different amounts within the RH fibers (as hydroxide) by dipping them in a solution of different concentrations of acidic ferrous sulfate and then immersing it in a dilute ammonia solution. The dry RHs were fired at temperatures between 400 °C and 700 °C in a static or limited air atmosphere. Both weight loss and residual weight are determined to follow its thermal degradation. The products of the RH degradation of silica or iron oxide-silica mixtures were characterized by X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The surface area, average particle size, and pore diameter of both products were determined. The chemical treatment of RHs before firing accelerates their thermal degradation and leads to obtaining firing products of high purity. Firing RHs in a limited air atmosphere increases thermal degradation and, at the same time, accelerates the catalyst effect of iron on its degradation. Under these conditions, silica and iron oxide bonded silica with an average particle size of 1.31 and 0.07 μm were obtained by firing treated RHs at 600 °C and 500 °C, respectively. Firing in a limited air atmosphere encourages CO2 to react with burned C to form CO, and iron as an accelerator for this reaction completes its degradation. In contrast, iron oxide remained in the ferrous state. Therefore, the bonding between iron and silica was complete.

With the enormous stress of energy lack and air pollution, renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic sources become an effective solution to solve these problems. The penetration of inertia-less photovoltaic sources into power system has adverse effects on the overall system inertia which threatens system stability. As a solution for this problem, virtual inertia technique can be used as a system controller in order to enhance the system performance and maintain its stability. In this paper, an adaptive virtual synchronous generator (VSG) controller based on the oscillation motion of the synchronous machine is introduced. Then, a proposed VSG with adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is presented as an inverter controller. The system response is investigated and compared with other control methods under different operating scenarios. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed adaptive VSG, an experimental setup is presented with real-time implementation for the system using dSPACE DS1104 interfacing with MATLAB software, and the system response is investigated under different operating scenarios. Upon the presented results, there is an enhancement in the system response when the proposed adaptive VSG with ANFIS controller is used, and this emphasizes the superiority of using such controller in PV systems over other techniques.

The present work aims to provide a high-resolution stratigraphic range of the planktic foraminiferal group during the Campanian/Maastrichtian boundary (C/M) of Gebel Owaina, Nile Valley. We use the base of Planoglobulina acervulinoides (CF7c Subzone) to mark the C/M boundary, where the planktic foraminiferal assemblages in the subzone are proposed as indicative of the early Maastrichtian age. Five zones (CF9-CF5) and three subzones (CF8a, CF8b, and CF8c) were recognized in the present study. A morphogroups scheme for the calcareous benthic foraminifera used in this work comprises five morphogroups, observed in the Owaina section. Three planktic morphogroups can be recognized and indicate open marine conditions with a good connection to the Tethys Ocean due to the highly diverse Maastrichtian assemblage and high P/B ratio (% P > 95).

The palaeoenvironments of the upper Palaeozoic succession in the eastern foot slopes of the Northern Galala Plateau, west of the Gulf of Suez, Egypt, are interpreted based on a detailed study of the sequence-stratigraphic framework, sedimentary facies and trace fossils. The upper Carboniferous–lower Permian Aheimer Formation has been studied in its type section exposed in Wadi Aheimer. Three unconformities bound four 3rd-order depositional sequences, including the upper Carboniferous DS NG 1, and the lower Permian DS NG 2‒4. These sequences are correlated with their counterparts on the North African and Arabian plates. The sedimentary facies characteristics indicate palaeoenvironments ranging from fluvial, estuarine, intertidal, shallow subtidal, shoreface to offshore transitional settings. The abundant and diverse ichno-assemblages are composed of horizontal, vertical and sub-vertical traces. At least 26 ichnotaxa have been identified, representing suites of the Glossifungites, proximal Cruziana, and proximal-archetypal Cruziana ichnofacies. Ichnofabric analysis revealed three distinct ichnofabrics: Tisoa, Schaubcylindrichnus and Zoophycos ichnofabrics. The trace and body fossil distribution and trophic structure of some of the recorded faunal assemblages confirm relatively stable and low-stress shallow-marine environments. In contrast, the trophic structure of some other assemblages indicates the influence of particular environmental parameters, including substrate consistency, bathymetry, water energy, productivity, rate of sedimentation, salinity and oxygen availability. The integrated results indicate that the sequences were formed during an interval dominated by different perturbations that resulted in a wide spectrum of depositional features. Moreover, evidence for Carboniferous–Permian glaciation is tentatively established in North Egypt but require further investigations.

Many of mimic analogues synthesized before depending on the change in the structure of aromatic rings. In this work, the carbonyl group in the structure of compounds 1-4 converted to thiocarbonyl group, and then studying the toxicological activity due to chemical change in the active center of mimic analogues was performed for compounds N-tert-butyl-2,4-dichloro-N'-(2,4-dichlorobenzoyl)benzohydrazide (2) and N-tert-butyl-2,4-dichloro-N'-[(2,4-dichlorophenyl)carbonothioyl]benzenecarbothiohydrazide (6). The toxicological study was done by using 2nd and 4th instar larvae of the cotton leaf worm, Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.). Five concentration levels (600, 300, 150, 75 and 37.5 ppm) of compounds (2) and (6) were applied on the fresh plant food to the newly grown (2nd and 4th) instar larvae.

Six phenolic compounds were isolated from the solid rice culture media of Alternaria sp., an endophyte isolated from the leaves of three desert plants, Lycium schweinfurthii Dammer (Solanaceae), Pancratium maritimum L. (Amaryllidaceae) and Cynanchum acutum L. (Apocynaceae).

A series of furan derivatives tebufenozide analogues comprising five compounds (2, 3, 4, 5, and 6) have been designed and synthesized via reaction of N'-phenylfuran-2-carbohydrazide (1) with different acid chlorides. The structures of the synthesized compounds were identified by elemental analyses and spectroscopic data. The analogues compounds have the active center of tebufenozide (mimic) with change of tertiary butylhydrazine by phenylhydrazine. Studying the effect of this change on the toxicological activity against Spodoptera littoralis larvae was performed for three compounds of the synthesized ones. Toxicological activity data showed that compound (3) is more active than compounds (2) and (5).

The boronizing kinetics of AISI 316L steel has been analyzed by employing five prediction models. The boron diffusion coefficients as well as the growth rate constants in the FeB and Fe2B phases were firstly evaluated in the range of 1123-1223 K. Afterwards, the values of boron activation energies in FeB and Fe2B were secondly deduced by adopting the Arrhenius relationships.In addition, the prediction models have been validated experimentally for two boronizing conditions (1170 K for 1.6 h and 1210 K for 1.1 h). The predicted results were deemed very concordant with the experiments. Furthermore, advantages and limitations about the applicability of these models were also discussed.

According to WHO warnings, the antibiotic resistance crisis is a severe health issue in the 21st century, attributed to the overuse and misuse of these medications. Consequently, the dramatic spreading rate of the drug-resistant microbial pathogens strains. The microbiological, biochemical tests and antibiotic sensitivity identified the bacteria's multi-drug resistance (MDR). About 150 different clinical samples were taken from hospitalized patients, both males, and females, ranging from 9 to 68 years. Gram-negative strains were (70.0%), while Gram-positive isolates were (30.0%). Among sixteen antibiotics, antibiotic susceptibility of imipenem was found to be the most efficient drug against most of the Gram-negative and Gram-positive isolates, followed by meropenem, depending on the culture and sensitivity results. All the experimental bacteria showed multidrug-resistant phenomena. This paper introduces a single-phase multi-function converter (MFC) circuit that can perform the power electronics functions of a DC–DC, a DC–AC, an AC–AC, and an AC–DC boost converter. The power circuit of the proposed converter contains only four bi-directional switches, which is sufficient side by side with a switched logic-based control system to execute converter functions. The proposed converter can implement the boosting converter function, which is a drawback of the conventional single-phase matrix converter, which is limited to performing the buck converter functions. The mathematical analysis of each converter function is presented. A state space averaging technique is employed to obtain the time-invariant state space model for a better understanding of the converter characteristics. The frequency response approach is used to demonstrate the effect of circuit parameters on converter stability using the time-invariant state-space model. Moreover, the performance analysis of the system is checked through the building of a simulation model of the proposed converter via MATLAB/Simulink and MATLAB/Simscape toolbox integration. Additionally, the actual performance of the proposed converter is verified through a laboratory prototype experimental study. The experimental results confirm those obtained by computer simulation, clearly demonstrating the successful operation of the proposed circuit as a multi-function converter with acceptable levels of total harmonic distortion (THD).

In the current scenario, scaling up the microbial production of nanoparticles with diverse biological applications is an emerging prospect for NPs’ sustainable industry. Thus, this paper was conducted to develop a suitable applicative process for the myco-fabrication of cobalt-ferrite (CoFeNPs), selenium (SeNPs), and zinc oxide (ZnONPs) nanoparticles. A strain improvement program using gamma irradiation mutagenesis was applied to improve the NPs-producing ability of the fungal strains. The achieved yields of CoFeNPs, SeNPs, and ZnONPs were intensified by a 14.47, 7.85, and 22.25-fold increase from the initial yield following gamma irradiation and isolation of stable mutant strains. The myco-fabricated CoFeNPs, SeNPs, and ZnONPs were then exploited to study their wound healing, and anti-inflammatory. In addition, the acetylcholinesterase inhibition activities of the myco-fabricated NPs were evaluated and analyzed by molecular docking. The obtained results confirmed the promising wound healing, anti-inflammatory, and acetylcholinesterase inhibition potentials of the three types of NPs. Additionally, data from analyzing the interaction of NPs with acetylcholinesterase enzyme by molecular docking were in conformation with the experimental data.

Narrow laser pulses have been essential sources in an optical communication system. A high data rate optical communication network system demands a compressed laser source. Pules laser source was obtained in this experiment after using a pulse duration of 9 ns, 1.2297 mW peak power, full width half maximum (FWHM) 286 pm, and a central wavelength of 1546.7 nm. This paper will study tunable FWHM using 10cm polarization-maintaining fibers (PMF) with different cladding diameters formed by etching 125μm PMF after immersing these with the Hydrofluoric acid HF of 40% concentration. Nested hybrid Sagnac etched polarization-maintaining fiber – Mach Zander interferometer was structured in three different arms, that are parallel to each other. The first arm consists of 10 cm PMFs with an etching time of10 min, and a (112.3) μm fiber diameter. The second arm has a PMF length of 10 cm, an etching time of 20 min, and (an 88.3) μm fiber diameter. The third arm consists of a PMF length of 10 cm, etching time of 30 min, and (72.8) μm fiber diameter. This system was studied in the application of (UOCS)with four samples of water seawater, shallow water, coastal water, and distilled water. The minimum specially FWHM in the coastal water, distilled water is 149 pm, and the FC = 1.9. High-gain DC/DC converters are considered one of the most important components of green energy systems. Large numbers of these converters are used for increasing the voltage gain by using an extreme duty cycle. However, it increases losses and the cost, degrades the system performance, and hence obtains a low efficiency. In this article, a new design of a high-gain DC/DC boost converter is proposed. This converter has the potential to be used in low input voltage applications that need a high voltage gain such as systems powered by solar photovoltaic panels and fuel cells. The new topology is characterized by its simplicity of operation, high voltage gain, better efficiency, continuity of the input current, reduced number of inductors and capacitors, and can be extended to get higher gains. The converter structure, principle of operation, and design consideration of inductors and capacitors are presented in detail. Derivation of power losses and efficiency is presented. A laboratory prototype is implemented, and various experimental tests are given. The achievement of the suggested design is confirmed and compared with other recent high-gain converters.

Mastitis is a serious and economically problem commonly prevalent in most dairy cattle and buffaloes herds. Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) is opportunistic pathogens implicated in veterinary disorders including clinical mastitis in buffaloes. This study aimed to investigate the antibiogram pattern and synergistic effect of amikacin and norfloxacin against resistant P. aeruginosa isolates from mastitis origin. In addition, detection of some virulence and antibiotics resistance genes. Out of two hundred buffaloes, sixty (30%) were diagnosed as clinical mastitis according to inflammatory signs and the culture results reveled only 5 (8.3%) were P.aeruginosa. Most of P. aeruginosa exhibited resistance to most antimicrobials classes. Meanwhile, the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) for amikacin and norfloxacin is significantly reduced from 64 µg/mL to 1 µg/mL and from 256 µg/mL to 8µg/mL respectively with frictional inhibitory concentration (FIC) index 0.25. Therefore, the FIC index recognized a synergistic activity between amikacin and norfloxacin against all P.areuginosa isolates. The mPCR proved to be an efficient tool for detection of virulence genes (exoT, toxA, oprL, and isaI) at 152, 396, 504, 606 bp respectively. In addition, all the P.aeruginosa were found to carry the resistance genes (qnrS, qnrA, aadB). In conclusion, the combination of norfloxacin plus amikacin suppressed the resistance pattern P. aeruginosa isolates. Therefore, their combination showed synergistic bacterial potential antimicrobial activity in treatment of mastitis due to P. aeruginosa infection and help in reducing the resistance problem.
