To detect the expression of galectin-13 in allergic diseases and provide a new way for the diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases. A retrospective analysis method was used to screen 216 patients with allergic diseases with house dust mites or aspergillus as allergens who visited the Department of Allergy and Department of Respiratory of Tongji Hospital attached Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology from March 2018 to May 2021. These allergic diseases included allergic asthma, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, atopic dermatitis, allergic urticaria. 25 subjects without underlying diseases were selected as healthy controls. The galectin-13 content in serum in each group were detected, and the Pearson correlation was used to determine the correlation between the galectin-13 content in serum in each group and blood eosinophil count, blood specific IgE, the score scale of allergic disease. The expression of Galectin-13 was increased in allergic asthma group (71.44±39.44) pg/ml, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis group (100.10±47.62) pg/ml, allergic rhinitis group (54.11±24.81) pg/ml and dermatitis group (44.12±19.51) pg/ml. The expression of galectin-13 was not significantly increased in allergic urticaria group (32.75±10.29) pg/ml and the allergic conjunctivitis group (30.55±9.87) pg/ml. BACKGROUND Prostate volume (PV) and its change rate are important for the progression of prostate disease, but studies on their estimates are inconsistent. OBJECTIVES To investigate whether age, prostate-specific antigen (PSA), and other specific characteristics are associated with PV and its change rate. MATERIALS AND METHODS A community-based cohort study was conducted in a rural area of China among male residents aged 40-80 years. PV was estimated at baseline and at 4 years of follow-up by trans-abdominal ultrasound. Annual PV change rate (PVCR) was calculated as change in volume divided by time interval. Baseline characteristics, including age, serum PSA, and hormones, were evaluated. And their relationships with PV or PVCR were assessed with Pearson correlation and multivariate linear regression analyses. RESULTS Totally, 462 participants completed the follow-up with baseline PV (PV0 ) of 15.6 ± 5.5 ml. Siglec-15 (S15) is another important mechanism of tumor immune escape besides the PD-L1/PD-1 pathway and represents a new kind of immune checkpoint inhibitor. However, the associations of tumor Siglec-15 expression with clinicopathological characteristics and outcomes of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) in a tumor microenvironment (TME) have so far been unclear. A total of 324 NSCLC surgical samples on tumor microarray were used in this study for investigating the association of S15 expression with clinicopathological characteristics and overall survival (OS) as well as correlation with TILs using multiplex immunofluorescence staining and PD-L1. Results showed that the expression of S15 in adenocarcinoma was significantly higher than that in squamous cell carcinoma. S15 expression was positively correlated with CD8+ T cell density in the stroma. The expression rate of PD-L1 in lung squamous cell carcinoma was higher than that in lung adenocarcinoma. S15 expression was not associated with the prognosis of early NSCLC. The pathological mechanism of the co-expression of S15 and PD-L1 in resectable NSCLC remains to be further studied.

Historical costume not only offers a rich source of inspiration for contemporary fashion designers, but also provides important area of research for sociologists, anthropologists and historians. This article analyzed European men's suit from 1850s to 1920s from written sources and real historical prototypes and investigated how the historical garments were worn layer by layer. This investigation could help to understand the historical methods of pattern block drafting, suit shaping during sewing, which will be applicable in high-precision reconstruction of men costume in virtual reality for online museum.

Nitrogen (N) is an essential macronutrient for plant growth and development. Insufficient supply of N leads to extensive physiological and biochemical changes in plant. However, the molecular mechanisms of response to N are still unknown. In this study, global transcriptome profiles of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) leaf and root under limited and sufficient N conditions were generated using Illumina RNA-sequencing. Then SeqPrep and Sickle were used to filter the raw reads and genes were assembled and predicted using Trinity. The Gene Ontology (GO) terms and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) for wheat transcripts were obtained from GO and KEGG databases, respectively. Simulation of historical costume requires digitalization of pattern block. This research developed the method of reconstruction of historical men’s coat by parameterized pattern blocks and CAD. The method includes three steps. Firstly, to collect the information about historical body measurements, drafting systems of patterns, clothing construction, methods of production and shaping, etc. Second step is the digitalization of patterns. Thirdly, to extract the body measurements and the ease allowance from pattern blocks. Fourthly, the calculation of shaping techniques values. Finally step includes the virtual reconstruction of costume. The database containing the historical pattern blocks, the manuals of drafting methods, the parameters of pattern, the body measurements, the eases of 47 historical men’s coat, and the values of shaping methods was established. Data base allows to calculate hided body measurements from patterns and to reconstruct of historical men’s coat with high accuracy in virtual reality.

Tobacco, Nicotiana tabacum L., family Solanaceae, is grown for its leaves (mature period). It originated in the Mesoamericas but today is cultivated globally. China produces about one-third of the world´s supply of tobacco leaves and is the largest tobacco producer in the world (Hu et al. 2007). In the early summer of 2019, after tobacco has been topped, typical tobacco hollow stalk disease symptoms were observed in two to five percent of the fields in Shaowu and Jianyang counties of Nanping, Fujian province, China. Symptoms consisted of lesions extending from the point of topping downward, resulting in a black hollow stem (harvest period). The symptoms were similar to tobacco hollow stalk disease caused by Pectobacterium species. Four infected stems of different tobacco plants were collected from Nanping (N 27°37'48″, E 118°2'24″) for isolation. Small sections from the stems were surface sterilized with 1% sodium hypochlorite for 3 min, rinsed three times in sterile distilled water (SDW), then macerated in 400 μl of SDW. The suspensions were then streaked on Nutrient agar (NA) and incubated at 28°C in darkness. After 2 days, two predominant isolates that produced circular, convex, small (< 1 mm) colonies without pigmentation, were purified. The BIOLOG GEN III Microplates system was then used to identify the putative pathogenic bacteria based on the results of the biochemical assays read by the plate reader and its associated software and database. After culturing for 48 and 60 h,BIOLOG analysis identified the two isolates as Dickeya chrysanthemi (SIM=0.516, DIST=7.224 and SIM=0.589, DIST=5.984). To confirm its identification, the 16S rDNA gene from strain NPEc1 was amplified with the general primer 27F/1492R (Frank et al. 2008), A BLASTn search in GenBank of this sequence (1,465 bp, Accession No. MN640862) showed over 99% identity to the 16S rDNA of D. chrysanthemi (CP 001655). Partial sequences of housekeeping gene DNA polymerase III, subunits gamma and tau (dnaX), and the recombinase A (recA) gene were also analyzed according to Racix et al. (2014). The 511-bp dnaX sequence (MT597420) and 736-bp recA sequence (MT597421) respectively matched 98.22% and 96.19% with D. chrysanthemi (syn. Erwinia chrysanthemi) strain CFBP 2048 (JX434939) and ICMP 5703 (DQ859873). For pathogenicity testig, six tobacco seedlings of the 45-day-old cultivar Yunyan 87 were planted in nutriculture at room temperature. After three days, approximately 20 μl of each bacterial suspension (107 CFU/ml) of isolates NPEc1 and NPEc2 was injected into the leaf axils of six tobacco stems. As a control, similar seedlings were inoculated with SDW. Twelve hours after inoculation, symptoms of water-soaked decay appeared in the injected leaf axils. After 2 days, these symptoms developed into a severe rot similar to that of naturally infected plants. In contrast, the controls were symptomless. The bacterium was isolated from the rotten tissues and demonstrated a similar identity to the inoculants by the Biolog automated microbial identification system comparison, thus fulfilling Koch's postulates. The inoculation was repeated twice. On the basis of morphological, Biolog Gen III, molecular characteristics and pathogenicity, the causal agent of a hollow stalk rot on tobacco at Nanping, was identified as D. chrysanthemi. Previously, this pathogen was reported on tobacco in Cuba by Perez (1981) and more recently isolated from poinsettia stems in China (Rungnapha et al. 2008). To our knowledge, this is the first report of Dickeya chrysanthemi causing a hollow stalk disease of toacco in China. Reference cultures have been deposited in CGMCC (NO. MT211276). Further spread of the pathogen may pose a threat to tobacco production in Nanping and other regions in China.

A reconstruction of historical costume can be applied to the movies, theatres, and online museums. Additionally, in the contemporary fashion and industry, the historical European costume has been one of the most essential inspiration for new design. This article developed a method of selection the analogues of textile materials which have been used in European men’s suits from 1850s to the 1920s based on published books and real historical male coat. This investigation will be useful to reconstruct historical men costume in virtual reality with high-precision.

International audience; The aim of this exploration is to develop a new database of solid algorithms and relations between the dress fit and the fabric mechanical properties, the pattern block construction for improving the reality of virtual system "body-dress". In virtual simulation, the system "body-clothing" sometimes shown distinct results with reality, especially when important changes in pattern block and fabrics were involved. In this research, to enhance the simulation process, diverse fit parameters were proposed: bottom height of dress, angle of front center contours, air volume and its distribution between dress and dummy. Measurements were done and optimized by ruler, camera, 3D body scanner image processing software and 3D modeling software. In the meantime, pattern block indexes were measured and fabric properties were tested by KES. Finally, the correlation and linear regression equations between indexes of fabric properties, pattern blocks and fit parameters were investigated. In this manner, new database could be extended in programming modules of virtual design for more realistic results.

A three-dimensional (3D) solid-fluid coupling model is proposed with the well-known science and engineering analysis software ABAQUS for reservoirs of multi-thin layered pay zoon with low permeability. The cohesive element based on damage mechanics is used for describing fluid flow through fractures and rock crack propagations. Self-developed subroutines are incorporated into ABAQUS for considering viscosity and leak off coefficient of proppant-laden fluid as well as pressure applied on the proppants in the fracture(s) already constructed in preceding fracture step(s). The layer-by-layer fracturing process of a vertical well in Daqing Oilfield of China and interference between different layers are simulated with the model. The numerical results are well coincident with the corresponding data measured in the field. The effects of layer’s spacing on fracture results are studied.

Organic-rich shale often receives high doses of radiation from radionuclides, mostly U. Radiogenic heating and particles bombardment can lead to petroleum generation. Artificial irradiation of organic matter with neutrons at room temperature confirms these benefits. Produced bitumen was rich in asphaltene and aromatic compounds. An improved method is used to evaluate the effects of radioactivity on the petroleum generation potential. The maximum oil generation potential increases up to 31% in the artificial irradiation dose range of 280-680 Mrad. Natural irradiation caused by U should be taken into account when evaluating petroleum resources to mitigate the charge risks in both conventional and unconventional hydrocarbons exploration, particularly for Palaeozoic and Proterozoic sediment.

This paper presents the conceptual design of a W-band high-harmonic gyrotron oscillator with a permanent magnet system. Mode selection, cavity design, beam-wave interaction calculations, electron-optical system, and quasi-optical mode converter output system are described. The gyrotron operates at the third harmonic of the electron cyclotron frequency with the beam interacting with a TE02 circular electric mode. The permanent magnet system provided the maximum axial magnetic field of ~ 1.19 T in the cavity region of the gyrotron. In the simulations, an output power of 14 kW has been obtained at a beam voltage of 40 kV with beam current of 3 A, corresponding to an efficiency of 11.7% through optimizing system parameters.

The technology of fishbone multilateral wells has been extensively applied worldwide in oilfield development. However there are few published models about fishbone multilateral wells' productivity. Based on conformal transformation and mirror image theory, a semianalytical model was derived for horizontal wells and fishbone multilateral wells' productivity in row well pattern, and verified through the electrolytical model experiment. The matching result showed there was only 12.15% maximum error.

To investigate the characteristics of screen time and its risk factors in Chinese primary and middle school students.During April 2012 and June 2012, according to the geographical distribution, the stratified random cluster sampling method was used to select 4 provinces from eastern, central and western China, respectively. The convenience sampling method was used to select 2 primary and middle schools from urban, 2 primary and middle schools from rural in each province. In each school, all grades were included, and 2 classes were selected in each grade. A total of 51 866 students or parents were selected as study participants, and 43 771 questionnaires were valid. Information on demographics, academic performance, screen time (TV, computer and cellphone) at weekdays and weekends and the prevalence of the high screen time were compared, multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the association between screen time2 h/d and potential influential factors.The percentage of students with screen time2 h/d at weekdays and weekends were 16.2% (7 082/43 771) and 41.5% (18 141/43 771) (χ(2)=6 280.14, P0.001), respectively. The distribution of P50 (P25-P75) for screen time at weekdays and weekends were 0.9(0.4-1.6) and 1.8(1.0-3.0) (Z=-131.26, P0.001), respectively. The results of multinomial logistic regression analysis showed that, at weekdays, subjects characterized as primary school students, boys, urban area, living in western area and sufficient vigorous physical activity ≤2 d/w had higher risk for screen time2 h/d than those characterized as elementary school students, girls, rural area, living in eastern area and sufficient vigorous physical activity3 d/w, odds ratio were 2.01, 1.54, 1.21, 1.09, and 1.07, respectively (P0.05 for all); subjects characterized as a normal or worse self rating academic performance had higher risk for screen time2 h/d than those characterized as a good self rating academic performance, odds ratioes were 1.24 and 1.73, respectively (P0.05 for all); subjects characterized as paternal education level as elementary school, middle school, high school or secondary school had higher risk for screen time2 h/d than those characterized as paternal education level as college school or high, odds ratioes were 1.41, 1.47 and 1.52, respectively (P0.05 for all); subjects characterized as maternal education level as elementary school, middle school and high school or secondary school had higher risk for screen time2 h/d than those characterized as maternal education level as college, odds ratioes were 1.40, 1.52 and 1.47, respectively (P0.05 for all). At weekends, subjects characterized as primary school students, boys, urban area and sufficient vigorous physical activity ≤2 d/w had higher risk for screen time2 h/d than those characterized as elementary school students, girls, rural area and sufficient vigorous physical activity3 d/w, odds ratioes were 2.11, 1.51, 1.20 and 1.05, respectively (P0.05 for all). At weekends, subjects characterized as a normal or worse self rating academic performance had higher risk for screen time2 h/d than those characterized as a good self rating academic performance, odds ratioes were 1.09 and 1.26, respectively (P0.05 for all); subjects characterized as paternal education level as elementary school, middle school, high school or secondary school had higher risk for screen time2 h/d than those characterized as paternal education level as college school or high, odds ratioes were 1.29, 1.30 and 1.19, respectively (P0.05 for all); subjects characterized as maternal education level as elementary school, middle school had higher risk for screen time2 h/d than those characterized as maternal education level as college school or high, odds ratioes were 1.19 and 1.16 and, respectively (P0.05 for all).The prevalence of screen time2 h/d is high; screen time at weekdays is longer than weekends, and there are significant differences among different sexes, urban or rural areas, living areas, self rating academic performance, parents education levels and physical activity groups.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Rad9 mutants with impaired DNA mismatch repair (MMR) function on the tumorigenesis of colorectal cancer.The colorectal cancer tumor samples were collected from 100 patients. The mutation profiles of human Rad9 (hRad9) gene in these samples were detected by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and sequencing. The plasmid of pFLAG-hRad9 (L101M) was constructed following the QuickChange mutagenesis procedure and transfected into mRad9-deleted mouse cells (mRad9(-/-) cells). The expression of hRad9 protein was measured by western blot analysis. The MMR activity in live cells was detected by flow cytometry using the reporter plasmid for MMR function.Mutation from Leu to Met at the residue 101 (L101M) of hRad9 gene was detected in 7 of the 100 samples. The mismatch repair efficiency of mRad9(-/-)+ L101M cells (mRad9-deleted mouse cells with ectopic expression of L101M hRad9 gene) was (34.0±5.6)%, which was significantly lower than that in the mRad9(-/-)+ hRad9 cells [mRad9-deleted mouse cells with ectopic expression of hRad9 gene, (48.0±7.5)%, P0.05]. After N-nitroso-N-methylurea (MNU) treatment, the survival rate of mRad9(-/-)+ L101M cells was (33.7±5.9)%, which was significantly higher than that in the mRad9(-/-)+ hRad9 cells [(21.3±4.7)%, P0.05]. Thus, ectopic expression of L101M hRad9 gene resulted in significantly reduced MMR activity and increased resistance to MNU. Furthermore, ectopic expression of hRad9 gene with mutation at the target residues of post-translational modification in mRad9(-/-) cells also led to a reduced MMR activity.Rad9 mutants with impaired DNA mismatch repair function may promote tumorigenesis of colorectal cancer.

Despite more than a century of intensive study, the mechanisms of successful pregnancy remain unclear. Recent research suggests that NF-κB (nuclear factor kappa B) plays an important role in embryo implantation. In the current study, we aimed to identify SNPs that contribute to genetic susceptibility for recurrent implantation failure (RIF). Thus, we examined the potential associations between RIF and ten SNPs (rs28362491, rs3774932, rs1598856, rs230528, rs230521, rs3774956, rs4648055, rs3774964, rs4648068, and rs3774968) of the NF-κB gene. Participants included 209 patients with RIF and 395 controls. Our results revealed that there were statistically significant differences observed in the allelic and genotypic frequencies of the rs28362491 promoter in the NF-κB gene. The frequency of the del/ del genotype was significantly higher in RIF patients than in healthy controls (P = 0.004). Compared with healthy controls, the RIF patients carried a higher frequency of the rs28362491 del allele (P = 0.010). Furthermore, strong linkage disequilibrium was observed in the three identified haplotype blocks (D' > 0.9). Particularly, in block 1 (rs230528-rs230521), the A-C haplotype occurred significantly more frequently (P = 0.029) in subjects with RIF (P = 0.0003). In contrast, the A-G haplotype occurred significantly less frequently (P = 0.008) in RIF subjects. These findings support an important role for G-712A polymorphisms of NF-κB in RIF, and may guide future studies that aim to characterize genetic risk factors for RIF.
