A utilização de jogos educativos tem se tornado cada vez mais comum em diversas áreas do conhecimento. No entanto, em algumas matérias na área da Ciência da Computação, poucas opções estão disponíveis para o aprendizado. Um exemplo disso é a área de Linguagens Formais e Autômatos (LFA), considerada um assunto de alta complexidade por estudantes devido aos aspectos teóricos e abstratos da matéria. Este trabalho portanto, tem o objetivo de apresentar um mapeamento sistemático de jogos que abordam a área de LFA, os assuntos que os jogos tratam, os gêneros dos jogos e como foram realizados os testes destes jogos. Os resultados iniciais apontaram 9 jogos encontrados abordando diversos temas e gêneros.

Although gate-oxide degradation occurs in both silicon (Si) and silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFETs, it requires a special attention in SiC MOSFETs. This is because the gate oxide in SiC MOSFETs is comparatively thinner than the gate oxide in Si MOSFETs, and thus, a higher electric field that appears across it could push the gate oxide to its reliability limit. While several electrical parameters have been identified as precursors (indicators) for monitoring the gate-oxide degradation process in Si MOSFETs, very few have been identified for their SiC counterparts. The purpose of this article is twofold. The first objective is to demonstrate that the three gate-oxide degradation precursors identified for Si MOSFETs: 1) threshold voltage, 2) gate-plateau voltage, and 3) gate-plateau time can also be extended to SiC MOSFETs. The second objective is to demonstrate analytically and experimentally that all three precursors increase in a linear-with-log-stress-time manner during gate-oxide degradation in both planar and trench-gate SiC MOSFETs. The increasing trends of precursors and their associated logarithmic time responses were experimentally verified by inducing accelerated gate-oxide degradation in two different commercial SiC MOSFETs (650-V, 70-A trench-gate MOSFETs and 1200-V, 19-A planar MOSFETs) under high temperatures of 150 and 125 °C, respectively.

A still uncertain association between vitamin D levels and HCV chronic liver diseases has been reported. Increased levels of serum-free light chains (FLCs) and an altered k/λ FLC ratio correlate with Mixed Cryoglobulinemia (MC) vasculitis and/or B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in HCV-positive patients. We aimed to investigate the possible role of vitamin D, vitamin D Binding Protein (DBP), and FLCs levels as a tool for discriminating different stages of HCV- related MC and chronic liver diseases.Sixty-five untreated patients were retrospectively enrolled and 21 healthy blood donors (HBD) were used as controls. Vitamin D, DBP, FLCs, and cryoglobulins levels were measured. Based on cryoglobulins, patients were divided in three subgroups (without cryoglobulins, type II, and type III).We didn't find any significant differences in vitamin D and DBP levels between HCV patients' main groups and HBD. Serum FLCs levels were significantly higher in HCV patients than in HBD. FLCs ratio among patients' subgroups did not reveal differences.Our results confirm the presence of an increased serum level of FLCs in HCV patients and suggest that nor vitamin D and DBP or FLC levels can be considered reliable biomarkers for discriminating different stages of HCV-associated chronic liver diseases and/or HCV-associated extrahepatic manifestation. We confirm that serological FLCs levels are significantly higher in patients than in HBD as a signature of B cell activation in course of HCV infection.

An effective output voltage regulation method using harmonic burst control is presented. This method can greatly improve operating performance of the full-bridge series-resonant dc-dc converter (SRC) applied to electric vehicle (EV) battery charging. The proposed harmonic burst control not only provides load regulation, but it also achieves soft switching at both turn-ons and turn-offs under all load conditions. As a result, it improves the system efficiency over 10% for light-load conditions without any extra hardware, compared to that of the traditional frequency modulation method. Moreover, it has much smaller pulsed power over a wide range load compared to the traditional bang-bang burst control. Theoretical analysis of the series-resonant circuit and power loss analysis are discussed in detail in this paper. Experimental results based on a 1-kW prototype with 20-cm air gap between the primary and secondary sides of the series-resonant converter are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

In this paper the Z-source converter is introduced to power factor correction (PFC) applications. The concept is demonstrated through a wireless power transfer (WPT) system for electric vehicle battery charging, namely Z-source resonant converter (ZSRC). Due to the Z-source network (ZSN), the ZSRC inherently performs PFC and regulate the system output voltage simultaneously, without adding extra semiconductor devices and control circuitry to the conventional WPT system such as conventional PFC converters do. In other words, the ZSN can be categorized as a family of the single stage PFC converters. In addition, the ZSN is suitable for high power applications since it is immune to shoot-through states, which increases reliability and adds a boost feature to the system. The ZSRC-based WPT system operating principle is described and analyzed in this paper. Simulations, and experimental results based on a 1-kW prototype with 20-cm air gap between the system primary and secondary side are presented to validate the analysis, and demonstrate the effectiveness of the ZSN in the PFC of the WPT system.

Monoclonal plasma cell proliferative disorders comprise a wide spectrum of diseases associated to clonal B-cell expansion. Serum protein electrophoretic profile (SPEP) and circulating free light chains (FLCs) levels are the mainstay of diseases management. Recently, soluble (s) Syndecan-1 (SDC1, CD138) produced by myeloma plasma cells has been suggested in the monitoring and follow-up of patients with myeloma. The aim of our study is to evaluate sCD138 in addition with FLCs and SPEP for the screening of patients with different evolutive disease pathways.Sera from 73 patients with monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS), 120 smoldering and 42 multiple myeloma (SMM and MM, respectively), 70 HCV-related mixed cryoglobulinemia (MC), 35 B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (B-NHL) and sera from 50 healthy donors (HD), were tested for sCD138, FLCs (assessed by means of ELISA and turbidimetric assay, respectively) and electrophoresis pattern (performed on Capillarys system) for the generation of a novel biomarker score (BS).Our results were grouped according to the two main lines of disease progression (vs. MM or B-NHL): in one group we found BS mean values of 0.2, 3.4, 5.3, 7.1 for HD, MGUS, SMM and MM, respectively; in the other group of 0.2, 4.4, 6.7 for HD, MC and B-NHL.We showed that BS mean values follow the ingravescence disease status towards the two main lines of progression to cancerous conditions; it could represent an additional useful tool in the management of screening and/or follow-up.

This paper presents a universal power converter building block (PCBB) with isolation transformer which can perform various functionalities such as charging (G2V), vehicle to grid (V2G) regenerative capability, and vehicle to load (V2L) feature. This converter can output different types of voltage, such as AC or DC, high voltage or low voltage, singlephase or three-phase. With different combinations of modularized PCBB, various voltage and power rating can also be achieved. The control algorithms for each operation mode are explained, including G2V, V2G, and V2L. Simulation results are accompanied to validate its capability. To achieve high power density, SiC MOSFET power module with high frequency switching is adopted along with the isolation transformer of nanocrystalline core. Overall, this paper extends a promising circuit topology of multiple practical and essential features for vehicle electrification.

In this paper, the effects of the resonant network characteristic and control variables on the dc-link capacitor of a wireless charger are investigated for electric vehicles, by deriving an analytical expression for the capacitance in terms of the resonant network parameters and system control variables. With this equation, the minimum dc-link capacitance needed can be obtained to keep the dc-link voltage ripple within a desired limit for a wide load range. A comparison between the conventional series-primary resonant networks in terms of the dc-link capacitance needs is presented as well as simulation results to validate the derived equation.

Population aging results in urgent needs of interventions aimed at ensuring healthy senescence. Exercise often results in healthy aging, yet many molecular mechanisms underlying such effects still need to be identified. We here investigated whether the age-dependent accumulation of oxidative and methylglyoxal- (MG-) related molecular damage could be delayed by moderate exercise in the mouse ovary, an organ that first exhibits impaired function with advancing age in mammals. CD1 female mice underwent two- or four-month treadmill-based running through the transition from adult to middle age, when ovaries show signs of senescence, and markers of protection against reactive oxygen species (ROS) and MG were measured. The long-term exercise reduced the protein oxidative damage in the ovaries (P<0.01), and this was linked to the preservation of the glutathione peroxidase protection against ROS (P<0.001), as well as to the increased glutathione availability (P<0.001). Conversely, even though the age-related deactivation of the MG-targeting systems was partially prevented by the long-term running programme (P<0.001), exercised mice were not protected from the age-dependent glycative burden. In summary, lately initiated regular and moderate exercise limited some changes occurring in the ovaries of middle-aged mice, and this might help to develop nonpharmacological cointerventions to reduce the vulnerability of mammalian ovaries towards redox dysfunctions.

This study evaluates the effect of 4 months supplementation with 2% and 5% taurine (w/w) on the retina of diabetic rats. In non-diabetic rats, taurine does not modify glycemia, body weight, retinal conjugated dienes (CD), lipid hydroperoxide (LP), and Na(+)K(+)ATPase activity. In diabetic rat, at 2, 4, 8, 16 weeks following the onset of diabetes, retinal CD and LP are significantly and progressively increased, while pump activity is gradually and significantly reduced. In taurine supplemented diabetic rats, glycemia is not affected but lipid peroxidation is significantly decreased. Finally, taurine preserves ATPase activity being 5% more effective than 2% taurine. We conclude that taurine supplementation ameliorates biochemical retinal abnormalities caused by diabetes, thereby suggesting that taurine may have a role in the prevention of retinal changes in diabetes.

The residual resistance of severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) mice to human graft is the main factor in conditioning both the extent of human cell reconstitution and the xenograft-to-xenograft variability. We have recently shown that an early and massive murine granulocyte recruitment is the main event in the SCID mouse reaction to the human graft.Here, we evaluate the importance of mouse granulocytes in the restriction of human cell engraftment in SCID mice. We injected SCID mice with a monoclonal antibody to murine granulocytes.Injection of this antibody resulted in a marked depletion of polymorphonuclear cells in the hematopoietic organs of SCID mice. This depletion was associated with a significant increase in both the growth of human cell lines of different hematopoietic origin and the engraftment of human peripheral blood leukocytes. Moreover, the abolishment of the early granulocyte reaction markedly reduced the xenograft-to-xenograft variation, a major shortcoming of these xenochimeric models.These results provide new insights into the control of the natural immune response of SCID mice against human graft. Furthermore, treatments aimed at controlling the acute inflammatory reaction of SCID mouse-to-human cell transplantation can be considered useful experimental approaches for increasing the xenograft-to-xenograft reproducibility.

Two-equivalent oxidation of metmyoglobin (MbIII) by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) yields an oxoferryl moiety (MbIV) plus a protein radical which presumably originates from the conversion of tyrosines to tyrosyl radicals (-MbIV). In the absence of electron donors, MbIII oxidation is followed by (i) heme degradation or (ii) tyrosyl radical-dependent reactions, such as irreversible dimerization or covalent binding of the heme group to the apoprotein. Moreover, the oxidizing equivalents of H2O2-activated MbIII promote the peroxidative decomposition of polyunsaturated fatty acids. In this study, water-soluble short chain coenzyme Q analogs (CoQ1H2 and CoQ2H2) were found to reduce the oxoferryl moiety, preventing heme degradation and regenerating MbIII and, more slowly, MbIIO2. CoQ1H2 and CoQ2H2 were also found to reduce tyrosyl radicals generated by UV irradiation of tyrosine solutions. Accordingly, CoQ1H2 and CoQ2H2 effectively prevented tyrosyl radical-dependent reactions such as the dimerization of sperm whale myoglobin and heme-apoprotein covalent binding in horse heart myoglobin. By competing for the oxidizing equivalents of hypervalent myoglobin, CoQ1H2 and CoQ2H2 also prevented the peroxidation of arachidonic acid. Collectively, these studies suggest that the proposed function of coenzyme Q as a naturally occurring antioxidant might well relate to its ability of reducing H2O2-activated myoglobin. Coenzyme Q should therefore mitigate cardiac or muscular dysfunctions that are caused by an abnormal generation of H2O2.

Bordetella pertussis toxin B-oligomer (PTX-B) has been shown to inhibit HIV infection and replication in vitro. The potential anti-viral effect of PTX-B was tested here in an in vivo surrogate model of HIV infection, i.e. SCID mice reconstituted with human peripheral blood leukocytes (PBL) (hu-PBL-SCID) and infected with a CCR5-dependent (R5) HIV-1 strain. SCID mice inoculated intra-peritoneal (i.p.) with PTX-B and then infected with the R5 strain SF-162 were sacrificed 7 days later and analyzed for human PBL (hu-PBL) lymphoid tissue reconstitution, infection of hu-PBL, plasma viremia and viral rescue from ex vivo-cultivated i.p. hu-PBL. Unlike mice treated with 500 ng per animal of PTX-B showing no evidence of viral inhibition, daily administration of PTX-B (50 ng per mouse) strongly inhibited virus infection and replication, as determined by undetectable viremia, absence of infected hu-PBL and lack of rescue of infectious HIV in most animals. Furthermore, PTX-B injection 2 h before and twice after infection prevented HIV-1 infection and replication in all (10/10) tested animals. Thus, PTX-B potently inhibited virus infection and replication in hu-PBL-SCID mice, supporting the hypothesis that it may represent a new pharmacological agent against HIV-1 infection.
