Makale, WOS:000959740900001, The significant technological advances observed in the 21st century and resulting sociological changes require social adaptation. These changes created an essential role for the teachers to instruct the changing qualifications. The present study aimed to determine the profile of preschool teachers in Turkey. Thus, this research was designed as a descriptive study. The study group included 652 teachers. Most of the teachers participating in the research were female participants. Most of the teachers are graduates of pre-school education. However, there are also teachers who have graduated from child development and other fields. The "Turkish Preschool Education Student Profile Questionnaire" developed by Erkan et al. (2001) was adapted by the authors to research the teacher profile. When the findings were examined, it was found that 86% of the teachers participated in educational activities, and these educational activities generally participated in in-service trainings, scientific conferences and cultural events belonging to the ministry; they usually participate in these activities whenever they have the opportunity; the reasons for participating in educational activities are usually due to the lack of time and family situations; It has been determined that the hobbies of teachers are reading books, music, movies, theater and social media. In addition, it was determined that most of the teachers willingly chose pre-school education, as the reason for this, they generally showed that they love children and love to teach. Teachers stated that they volunteered to be a preschool teacher and that they love and care about children. The findings are discussed in the light of the relevant literature. Then recommendations are given., 21. yüzyıl ile ortaya çıkan muazzam teknolojik değişim ve buna bağlı olarak gelişen sosyolojik değişim, toplumların bu süreci yaratmasını ve buna uyum sağlamasını zorunlu kılmıştır. Bu süreçte yaşanan değişimin bir sonucu olarak öğretmenler, değişen niteliklerin topluma aktarılmasında önemli bir role sahiptir. Bu araştırma, Türkiye'de çalışmakta olan okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin profilini belirlemeyi amaçlamıştır. Bu amaçla bu araştırma, betimsel araştırma ile desenlendirilmiştir. Çalışma grubu 652 öğretmenden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin çoğunu kadın katılımcılar oluşturmuştur. Öğretmenlerin çoğu okul öncesi eğitimi mezunudur. Bununla birlikte çocuk gelişimi ve diğer alanlardan mezun olan öğretmenler de mevcuttur. Erkan ve diğerleri tarafından 2001 yılında geliştirilen “Türkiye'de Okul Öncesi Eğitim Öğrenci Profiline Ait Anket” araştırmacılar tarafından uyarlanarak öğretmen profili için uygun hale getirilmiştir. Bulgular incelendiğinde öğretmenlerin %86’sının eğitsel aktivitelere katıldığı, bu eğitsel aktivitelerin genellikle bakanlığa ait hizmet içi eğitimler, bilimsel konferanslar ve kültürel etkinlikler olduğu; bu etkinliklere genellikle fırsat bulduklarında katıldıkları; eğitsel etkinliklere katılma nedenlerinin genellikle zaman bulma sıkıntısı ve ailesel durumlardan kaynaklı olduğu; öğretmenlerin hobilerinin kitap okuma, müzik, film, tiyatro ve sosyal medya şeklinde sıralandığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca öğretmenlerin birçoğu isteyerek okul öncesi eğitimi seçtiğini, bunun nedeni olarak da genellikle çocukları ve öğretmeyi sevmelerini belirtmiştir. Öğretmenler, okul öncesi öğretmenliğini isteyerek yaptıklarını, çocukları sevdiklerini ve önemsediklerini belirtmişlerdir. Bulgular ilgili alanyazın ışığında tartışılmıştır. Ardından önerilere yer verilmiştir.

Purpose This study aims to develop a perception scale of gender role in disaster management and examine related factors. Design/methodology/approach A total of 1,167 individuals were reached in the main trial. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were applied to test the validity of the final scale form, respectively. Findings The scale was developed as unidimensional with two positive items and 17 negative items. The mean scores of the participants were in the positive perception group. The 19-item model is a reliable and valid instrument for measuring the perception of gender role specific to disaster management. Practical implications Determining the perceptions of the people will guide the policies related to gender equity and equality and activities to be carried out in the disaster management field. This tool can be used to raise awareness related to gender perceptions in the disaster preparedness activities. Originality/value The “Perception Scale of Gender Role in Disaster Management” which is a reliable and robust tool to determine the perception of gender role specific to the disaster management was developed in this study. This tool can contribute to address the needs and capacities and provide influencive strategy development through gender analysis.

Bu araştırmada ortaokula devam eden ergenlerin bilinçli farkındalık ve psikolojik iyi oluş düzeylerinin cinsiyete ve sınıf düzeyine göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı ve bilinçli farkındalık puanlarının psikolojik iyi oluş düzeylerini yordayıp yordamadığı araştırılmıştır. Ayrıca bilinçli farkındalık ile psikolojik iyi oluş arasındaki ilişki ve bu ilişkide cinsiyetin düzenleyici etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemi 2021-2022 eğitim öğretim yılında Ankara’nın Çankaya ilçesindeki bir devlet okulunun beşinci, altıncı, yedinci ve sekizinci sınıfına devam eden 149’u kadın ve 184’ü erkek olmak üzere toplam 333 öğrenciden oluşmuştur. Araştırmada bilinçli farkındalık düzeyini belirlemek için Çocuk ve Ergenler için Bilinçli Farkındalık Ölçeği (ÇEBFÖ), psikolojik iyi oluş düzeylerini belirlemek için de Stirling Çocuklar İçin Duygusal ve Psikolojik İyi Oluş Ölçeği (SÇDPİOÖ) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada ölçek puanlarının normallik varsayımı basıklık ve çarpıklık katsayıları incelenerek değerlendirilmiştir. Normallik varsayımının sağlanması nedeniyle verilerin analizinde t testi, ANOVA, regresyon analizi ve Pearson Korelasyon Katsayısı kullanılmıştır. Ölçeklerin yapı geçerliğinin test edilmesinde doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA) kullanılmıştır. ÇEBFÖ’nün Cronbach alfa değeri .70, SÇDPİOÖ’nin ise .90 olarak bulunmuştur. Araştırmada kadın ve erkek öğrencilerin bilinçli farkındalık puan ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark gözlenmiştir. Bilinçli farkındalık ve psikolojik iyi oluş puanları sınıf düzeyine göre anlamlı farklılık göstermemiştir. Bilinçli farkındalığın psikolojik iyi oluşun anlamlı bir yordayıcısı olduğu bulunmuştur. Kız öğrencilerde bilinçli farkındalığın psikolojik iyi oluşu yordama etkisi erkek öğrencilerde daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Bulgular literatür çerçevesinde tartışılmış ve önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Computerized Adaptive Classification Tests (CACT) aim to classify individuals effectively with high classification accuracy and few items over large item pools. The characteristic features of the item pool include the number of items, item factor loadings, the distribution of the Test Information Function, and dimensionality. In this study, we present the results of a comprehensive simulation study that was examined how item selection methods (MFI-KLI), ability estimation methods (EAP-WLE) and classification methods (SPRT-CI) were affected by strong and weak unidimensional item pools. Findings of the study indicate that CI had always produced results with classification accuracy similar to SPRT but with a test length of almost half. Additionally, KLI and MFI item selection methods were not affected by the item pool characteristic as weak or strong unidimensionality. From findings of this study, it can be recommended to use CI with EAP in CACT studies, whether the item pool is weak or strong unidimensional, but WLE only under strong unidimensional item pools. Additionally, EAP and SPRT methods are recommended to prefer in the weak unidimensional item pool.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, puanlayıcıların çalışma yılı olarak ele alınan mesleki kıdem farklılıklarının, farklı standart belirleme yöntemleri ile elde edilen kesme puanlarına etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmada Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından 2014-15 ve 2015-1016 eğitim ve öğretim yıllarında sekizinci sınıf öğrencilerine ortak sınav şeklinde uygulanan Temel Eğitimden Orta Öğretime Geçiş sınavı 1. dönem matematik sorularının ayırt edicilik açısından en iyi 20 maddesinden oluşturulan çoktan seçmeli matematik başarı testi kullanılmıştır. Söz konusu test, Ankara ilindeki ortaokullardan seçkisiz örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenen 907 sekizinci sınıf öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Maddelerin Angoff, Nedelsky ve Ebel standart belirleme yöntemleri ile değerlendirilmesi amacıyla hazırlanan uzman değerlendirme formu ile aynı okullarda görevli ve hali hazırda sekizinci sınıflarda ders vermekte olan 40 matematik öğretmeninin değerlendirmeleri alınmıştır. Elde edilen kesme puanları Genellenebilirlik Kuramı ile analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda; Angoff, Nedelsky ve Ebel standart belirleme çalışmalarında, mesleki olarak daha kıdemli olan puanlayıcı grubunun kesme puanları belirlemede göreceli olarak daha tutarlı olduğu görülmüştür. Kıdem seviyesinin artmasının yanı sıra puanlayıcı gruplarının çalışma yılı açısından homojenleşmesinin de belirlenen standartların tutarlılığını artırabileceği görülmüştür.

The Aurora-a test battery was applied to 520 students who were between the ages of 9 and 12 attending public and private schools in Istanbul to create the Turkish version of the Aurora-a Intelligence Test Battery (Aurora-a_TR), which was developed for children aged 9-12 years based on the Triarchic Intelligence Theory. The three sub-test scores that measured verbal intelligence in the original form were excluded from the analyses since they were not suitable for statistical analysis. The validity evidence of Aurora-a_TR test was obtained by Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Reliability Analyses. The analyses supported the three-factor Triarchic Intelligence Model with strong evidence, which also included the fourteen subtests. It was recommended in this study to re-apply Aurora-a_TR on a different sampling with the tests that were re-adapted into Turkish for 3 verbal content tests, which could not be tested in the present study.

The testlet comprises a set of items based on a common stimulus. When the testlet is used in the tests, there may violate the local independence assumption, and in this case, it would not be appropriate to use traditional item response theory models in the tests in which the testlet is included. When the testlet is discussed, one of the most frequently used models is the testlet response theory (TRT) model. In addition, the bi-factor model and traditional 2PL models are also used for testlet-based tests. This study aims to examine the item parameters estimated by these three calibration models of the data properties produced under different conditions and to compare the performances of the models. For this purpose, data were generated under three conditions: sample size (500, 1000, and 2000), testlet variance (.25, .50, and 1), and testlet size (4 and 10). For each simulation condition, the number of items in the test was fixed at i = 40 and 100 replications were made under each condition. Among these models, it was concluded that the TRT model gave less biased results than the other two models, but the results of the bi-factor model and the TRT were more similar as the sample size increased. Among the examined conditions, it was determined that the most effective variable in parameter recovery was the sample size.

In this study, whether item position effects lead to DIF in the condition where different test booklets are used was investigated. To do this the methods of Lord’s chi-square and Raju’s unsigned area with the 3PL model under with and without item purification were used. When the performance of the methods was compared, it was revealed that generally, the method of Lord’s chi-square identified more items with DIF than did the method of Raju’s unsigned area. The differentiation of the booklets with respect to item position resulted in a higher number of items displaying DIF with item purification conditions. Based on the findings of the present study, to avoid the occurrence of DIF due to item position effects, it is recommended to position the same items across different booklets in similar locations when forming different booklets.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, fen bilimleri ve matematik performansı üzerinde evdeki öğrenme kaynakları, okul öncesi eğitim alma ve ilkokula başlamadan önce okuma, yazma ve sayma etkinlikleri yapma değişkenlerinin etkisini incelemektir. Çalışmanın örneklemini TIMSS 2015 uygulamasına katılan N=6456 4. Sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Bağımsız değişkenlerin fen bilimleri ve matematik dersi performansı üzerindeki etkisi ANOVA ile analiz edilmiştir. Analizler sonucunda TIMSS ve Türkiye örnekleminde evdeki öğrenme kaynakları arttıkça öğrencilerin fen bilimleri ve matematik başarısının artmakla birlikte Türkiye’deki öğrenciler TIMSS ortalamasına göre evdeki öğrenme kaynakları açısından oldukça zayıf durumdadır. Okul öncesi eğitim alan öğrencilerin fen bilimleri ve matematik performansı okul öncesi eğitim alamayanlardan daha yüksektir. Ancak TIMMS 2015 verisinde fen bilimleri ve matematik ortalama puanları okul öncesi eğitim süresine göre düzenli bir şekilde artış gösterirken Türkiye verisinde böyle doğrusal bir ilişki bulunmamıştır. Hem TIMSS hem de Türkiye örnekleminde ilkokula başlamadan önce ailede çocukla yapılan okuma yazma ve sayma etkinliklerinin sıklığı ile fen bilimleri ve matematik başarı arasında doğrusal pozitif yönlü bir ilişki mevcuttur., The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of home resources for learning, students who attended preprimary education and early literacy and numeracy activities before beginning primary school on mathematics and science performance. The sample of the study consists of N=6456 4th year students who participated in TIMSS 2015. The effect of independent variables on mathematics and science performance was analyzed by ANOVA. According to the results, as home resources for learning increase, math and science performance increases both Turkey and TIMSS 2015 samples. However, the amount of home resources for learning in Turkey are quite insufficient compared to TIMSS 2015 average. The mathematics and science performance of students who attend pre-school is higher than those of student who had not attended pre-school. There is positive linear relationship between early childhood education attendance rates and math as well as science performance in TIMSS 2015, but there is no such relationship in Turkey. Both in Tukey and TIMSS 2015 samples, there is positive and linear relationship between frequency of early literacy and numeracy activities before beginning primary school and math performance as well as science.

In this study,the relationship between subtest and total test was investigated by usinghierarchical item response theory models in order to contribute to reliablesubtest and total test score estimates. The RMSE and reliability of the totaltest score and subtest scores estimated by the Higher Order, Bi-factor andhierarchical MIRT models in the study were compared under the conditions of thesize of the correlations between the subtests, subtest length and number ofsubtests. In addition, the performance of three models used in the research wasexamined on TEOG 2015 data. As a result of the study, in almost all conditions,when the correlation between the subtest and the subtest length increased, theRMSE of the ability parameters decreased and the reliability increased for thetotal test score obtained from the three estimation models. Under allconditions, the lowest RMSE values and the highest reliability values were yieldedfrom Hierarchical MIRT model for subtest score recovery and from HierarchicalMIRT model for total test score recovery. In addition, all models estimatedRMSE and reliability values close to each other at 0.8 level of correlation fortotal test score recovery. The RMSE values of the ability parameters for thesubtest scores in two and three dimensional data were found to be not affectedby the correlation level between the subtests while the subtest lengthdecreased in the Hierarchical MIRT model; were found to decrease as thecorrelation between subtest and subtest length in the Higher Order model andwere found to decrease as the subtest length increased, but significantlyincreased as the correlation between the subtests increased in the Bi-factormodel., Buaraştırmada güvenilir alt test ve toplam test puanı kestirimleri konusuna katkısağlamak amacıyla alt test ve toplam test arasındaki ilişki hiyerarşik maddetepki kuramı modelleri ile araştırılmak istenmiştir. Çalışmada Üst Düzey Sıralı(Higher Order), İki Faktör (Bi-factor) ve hiyerarşik çok boyutlu madde tepkikuramı (ÇBMTK) modelleri ile kestirilen toplam test puanının ve alt testpuanlarının RMSE ve güvenirlik değerleri alt test sayısı, alt test uzunluğu vealt testler arasındaki korelasyonların büyüklüğü koşulları altındakarşılaştırılmıştır. Ayrıca TEOG 2015 verileri üzerinde araştırmada kullanılanüç kestirim modelinin performansı incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda iki ve üç boyutlu verilerde hemen hemen tümkoşullarda alt test uzunluğu ve alt testler arasındaki korelasyonun arttıkça üçkestirim modelinden elde edilen toplam test puanı için yetenek parametrelerikestirim hatasının azaldığı, kestirim güvenirliğinin ise arttığı bulunmuştur.Toplam test puanları için Hiyerarşik ÇBMTK model ile tüm koşullarda en düşükRMSE değeri ve en yüksek güvenirlik değeri elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca korelasyonun0.8 düzeyinde toplam test puanı için tüm modeller birbirine yakın RMSE vegüvenirlik değerleri ile kestirim yapmıştır. İki ve üç boyutlu verilerde alt testpuanı için kestirilen yetenek parametrelerinin RMSE değerleri, Hiyerarşik ÇBMTKmodelde alt test uzunluğu arttıkça azalırken alt testler arasındaki korelasyondüzeyinden etkilenmediği; Üst Düzey Sıralı modelde alt test uzunluğu ve alttestler arasındaki korelasyon arttıkça azaldığı; İki Faktör modelde ise alttest uzunluğu arttıkça azalırken alt testler arasındaki korelasyon arttıkçaönemli düzeyde arttığı bulunmuştur.

Bu calismanin amaci Ogretim Uyesi Yetistirme Programi (OYP) arastirmagorevlilerinin yurt ici ve yurt disinda almis olduklari dil egitimlerine iliskin goruslerininbelirlenmesidir. Buna gore yurt icinde dil egitimi almis 10 OYP arastirma gorevlisi ve yurtdisinda dil egitimi almis 11 OYP arastirma gorevlisi ile 5 acik uclu sorudan olusan yariyapilandirilmisgorusme formu ile yuz yuze gorusmeler yapilarak dil egitimlerine iliskingorusleri alinmistir. Veri analizinde icerik analizi yontemi kullanilmistir. Arastirmasonucunda, OYP arastirma gorevlilerinin yurt ici dil egitiminden akademik ve genelĐngilizce olmak uzere iki yonden beklentileri oldugu ortaya cikmistir ve bircok arastirmagorevlisi yurt ici dil egitiminin bu beklentilerini karsilamadigini belirtmistir. Arastirmagorevlileri yurt ici dil egitimi sirasinda en fazla sinav-is kaygisi ve barinma konusundasikinti yasamislardir. Ayrica arastirma gorevlileri dil egitimini etkili bulmadiklarinibelirtmislerdir. Son olarak, arastirma gorevlileri hem YOK’e hem de diger arastirmagorevlilerine bu surec ile ilgili onerilerde bulunmuslardir. Yurt disinda dil egitimi almisolan OYP arastirma gorevlilerinin dil egitimine iliskin en onemli beklentilerinin isekonusma, makale yazabilme ve sunum yapabilme becerilerini gelistirmek oldugugorulmustur. Arastirma gorevlilerinin yurt disinda barinma, ogretmen nitelikleri vesiniflardaki Turk ogrenci sayisi bakimindan sorunlar yasadiklari ve bu sorunlarin cozumunusaglayamadiklari soylenebilir. OYP arastirma gorevlilerinin yurt disi dil egitimlerinikonusma becerisi ve akademik Đngilizce acisindan etkili bulmadiklari; bir baska deyisle dilegitiminin beklentilerini karsilamadigi ortaya cikmistir. OYP arastirma gorevlilerinin yurtdisi dil egitimine yonelik onerilerine bakildiginda ise Đngiltere, ABD, Kanada gibi anadiliĐngilizce olan ulkelerin tercih edilmesinin, siniflardaki Turk ogrenci sayisininazaltilmasinin ve kurslar yerine universiteler gibi akademik ortamlarda Đngilizceogrenilmesinin ilk siralarda yer aldigi gorulmektedir.
