Der Wandel von konventionellen Antriebskonzepten hin zu Alternativen wie der Brennstoffzellentechnologie vollzieht sich in einem sehr dynamischen Umfeld. Entsprechend komplex gestaltet sich die Problemstellung, eine Fabrik zum gegenwärtigen Zeitpunkt mit langfristigem wirtschaftlichem Erfolgspotential zu dimensionieren. Im folgenden Beitrag wird ein Ansatz vorgestellt, der die Einbeziehung der Umweltsituation in den Fabrikplanungsprozess ermöglicht. Unter Anwendung des System Dynamics-Ansatzes wird ein Simulationsmodell aufgebaut, welches die Auswirkungen von Umwelteinflüssen auf die Kapazitätsdimensionierung darstellt. Dabei werden Umweltdaten aus dem öffentlichen, technologischen und wirtschaftlichen Umfeld der Brennstoffzellenfertigung erhoben. Die so erhobenen Daten dienen als Grundlage für die Bestimmung von Modellierungsparametern, welche die wesentlichen Umwelteinflüsse repräsentieren. Im anschließenden Simulationslauf wird das dynamische Zusammenspiel der Einflüsse betrachtet und mit einer monetären Bewertung untersetzt. Die aus dem Simulationsmodell gewonnenen Ergebnisse belegen, dass die weitgehende Berücksichtigung von Umweltdaten im Umfeld der Brennstoffzellenfertigung praktikabel ist und zu vorteilhafteren Planungsergebnissen beitragen kann. The shift from conventional drive concepts to alternatives such as fuel cell technology is taking place in a very dynamic environment. The problem of dimensioning a factory with long-term economic success potential is correspondingly complex. In the following paper an approach is presented which allows the inclusion of environmental factors into the factory planning process. Using the System Dynamics approach, a simulation model is built which represents the effects of environmental influences on capacity dimensioning. Environmental data from the public, technological and economic environment of fuel cell manufacturing are collected. The collected data serves as a basis for the determination of modeling parameters, which represents the main environmental influences. In the subsequent simulation run, the dynamic interaction of the influences is considered and underpinned with a monetary evaluation. The results obtained from the simulation model prove that the extensive consideration of environmental data in the environment of fuel cell production is practicable and can contribute to more advantageous planning results.

The planning of factories and production processes is subject to constantly changing requirements and has always been challenged by uncertain future forecasts. Factory planning projects initiated for the production of innovative products are particularly affected. For these products, there is almost no historical or empirical data available, so the forecasts can only be based on estimated influencing variables and data from similar products. Accordingly, the risk that the selected capacity does not match the actual market demand is higher. While the capacity of a factory represents a long-term investment decision, the spread of innovations can fail within a short timeframe or occur far below the expected level. For this reason, it can be assumed that insights from innovation research offer a planning advantage in forecasting the production potential. Regarding an increasing number of global product innovations, the evaluation of empirical data by means of suitable models and methods is becoming more and more accurate in order to reflect typical market patterns based on recurring customer behaviour. This paper takes up these trends and proposes an approach how innovation metrics can be included in the capacity dimensioning process of factory projects. For this purpose, the BASS diffusion model is used to realistically map different market scenarios for the required capacity curves.

The biological transformation of added value is seen as one of the key aspects in applied research. Bio- inspired methods and technologies will affect factories of the future and enable them to cope with changing boundary conditions and the rising necessity of sustainability. This results in a higher demand for flexibility and transformation ability of the comprised production systems. To elaborate topics like these, Fraunhofer initiated strategic collaborative research projects. The current project aims at developing aspects of the biological transformation, whereof organic bio-inspired factories is one. Different research focal points were identified as enabling technologies on different levels of the well-established automation pyramid. The paper highlights the aspects “facility layout planning”, “behavioral modeling of production systems” and “skill-based controller programming” as enabling technologies. Solution approaches for the addressed aspects are discussed and future steps towards a flexible and sustainable production are shown.

Die Aufwandsreduzierung in Montageprozessen und angrenzender Produktionsbereiche, wie Logistik und Instandhaltung, bei gleichzeitiger Sicherung der Qualitätsanforderungen bestehen nicht erst seit kurzem als Herausforderungen für Unternehmen in verschiedenen Branchen. Im Zuge des steigenden, internationalen Wettbewerbsdruckes gewinnt die Flexibilität und Effizienz von Planungsprozessen insbesondere für KMU an Bedeutung. Mit guter Planung können später anfallende Kosten bereits durch frühzeitige Entscheidungen vermieden werden. Digitale Planungswerkzeuge und Menschmodelle stellen eine softwareseitige Unterstützung bei der Visualisierung, Analyse und Simulation in unterschiedlichen Einsatzgebieten dar. In dem Beitrag wird anhand mehrerer Beispiele gezeigt, wie Planungsergebnisse zweckabhängig unter Anwendung von Montage- und Fabrikplanungssoftware effizient erzielt werden können. Es wird zudem dargestellt, wie sich unterschiedliche inhaltliche Themenfelder (z.B. Taktabstimmung, Ergonomiebewertung, Montagefähigkeit etc.) in frühzeitige Planungsphasen integrieren lassen. Anhand der Anwendungsfälle wird gezeigt, dass aktuelle Simulationswerkzeuge schon bei geringem Detailgrad und damit geringem Modellierungsaufwand erhebliche Erkenntnisse mit sich bringen und zur Optimierung unterschiedlichster Produktionsprozesse beitragen können.
