Abstract: Abstract We present a study of Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 π 0 $$ {\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0{\pi}^0 $$ , Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 η $$ {\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0\eta $$ , and Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 η ′ $$ {\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0{\eta}^{\prime } $$ decays using the Belle and Belle II data samples, which have integrated luminosities of 980 fb −1 and 426 fb −1, respectively. We measure the following relative branching fractions B Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 π 0 / B Ξ c 0 → Ξ − π + = 0.48 ± 0.02 stat ± 0.03 syst , B Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 η / B Ξ c 0 → Ξ − π + = 0.11 ± 0.01 stat ± 0.01 syst , B Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 η ′ / B Ξ c 0 → Ξ − π + = 0.08 ± 0.02 stat ± 0.01 syst $$ {\displaystyle \begin{array}{c}\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0{\pi}^0\right)/\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right)=0.48\pm 0.02\left(\textrm{stat}\right)\pm 0.03\left(\textrm{syst}\right),\\ {}\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0\eta \right)/\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right)=0.11\pm 0.01\left(\textrm{stat}\right)\pm 0.01\left(\textrm{syst}\right),\\ {}\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0{\eta}^{\prime}\right)/\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right)=0.08\pm 0.02\left(\textrm{stat}\right)\pm 0.01\left(\textrm{syst}\right)\end{array}} $$ for the first time, where the uncertainties are statistical (stat) and systematic (syst). By multiplying by the branching fraction of the normalization mode, B Ξ c 0 → Ξ − π + $$ \mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right) $$ , we obtain the following absolute branching fraction results B Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 π 0 = 6.9 ± 0.3 stat ± 0.5 syst ± 1.3 norm × 10 − 3 , B Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 η = 1.6 ± 0.2 stat ± 0.2 syst ± 0.3 norm × 10 − 3 , B Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 η ′ = 1.2 ± 0.3 stat ± 0.1 syst ± 0.2 norm × 10 − 3 , $$ {\displaystyle \begin{array}{c}\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0{\pi}^0\right)=\left(6.9\pm 0.3\left(\textrm{stat}\right)\pm 0.5\left(\textrm{syst}\right)\pm 1.3\left(\operatorname{norm}\right)\right)\times {10}^{-3},\\ {}\mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0\eta \right)=\left(1.6\pm 0.2\left(\textrm{stat}\right)\pm 0.2\left(\textrm{syst}\right)\pm 0.3\left(\operatorname{norm}\right)\right)\times {10}^{-3},\\ {}\mathcal{B}\left({\varXi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0{\eta}^{\prime}\right)=\left(1.2\pm 0.3\left(\textrm{stat}\right)\pm 0.1\left(\textrm{syst}\right)\pm 0.2\left(\operatorname{norm}\right)\right)\times {10}^{-3},\end{array}} $$ where the third uncertainties are from B Ξ c 0 → Ξ − π + $$ \mathcal{B}\left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^{-}{\pi}^{+}\right) $$ . The asymmetry parameter for Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 π 0 $$ {\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0{\pi}^0 $$ is measured to be α Ξ c 0 → Ξ 0 π 0 = − 0.90 ± 0.15 stat ± 0.23 syst $$ \alpha \left({\Xi}_c^0\to {\Xi}^0{\pi}^0\right)=-0.90\pm 0.15\left(\textrm{stat}\right)\pm 0.23\left(\textrm{syst}\right) $$ .

Abstract: Abstract We present the result of a search for the charged-lepton-flavor violating decay τ − → μ − μ + μ − using a 424 fb −1 sample of data recorded by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB e + e − collider. The selection of e + e − → τ + τ − events is based on an inclusive reconstruction of the non-signal tau decay, and on a boosted decision tree to suppress background. We observe one signal candidate, which is compatible with the expectation from background processes. We set a 90% confidence level upper limit of 1.9 × 10 −8 on the branching fraction of the τ − → μ − μ + μ − decay, which is the most stringent bound to date.

Abstract: Abstract We present a measurement of the ratio R μ = B τ − → μ − ν ¯ μ ν τ / B τ − → e − ν ¯ e ν τ $$ {R}_{\mu }=\mathcal{B}\left({\tau}^{-}\to {\mu}^{-}{\overline{\nu}}_{\mu }{\nu}_{\tau}\right)/\mathcal{B}\left({\tau}^{-}\to {e}^{-}{\overline{\nu}}_e{\nu}_{\tau}\right) $$ of branching fractions B $$ \mathcal{B} $$ of the τ lepton decaying to muons or electrons using data collected with the Belle II detector at the SuperKEKB e + e − collider. The sample has an integrated luminosity of 362 ± 2 fb −1 at a centre-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV. Using an optimised event selection, a binned maximum likelihood fit is performed using the momentum spectra of the electron and muon candidates. The result, R μ = 0.9675 ± 0.0007 ± 0.0036, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic, is the most precise to date. It provides a stringent test of the light-lepton universality, translating to a ratio of the couplings of the muon and electron to the W boson in τ decays of 0.9974 ± 0.0019, in agreement with the standard model expectation of unity.

Abstract: Abstract We present measurements of the branching fractions of eight B ¯ 0 $$ {\overline{B}}^0 $$ → D (*)+ K − K S ∗ 0 $$ {K}_{(S)}^{\left(\ast \right)0} $$ , B − → D (*)0 K − K S ∗ 0 $$ {K}_{(S)}^{\left(\ast \right)0} $$ decay channels. The results are based on data from SuperKEKB electron-positron collisions at the Υ(4S) resonance collected with the Belle II detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 362 fb −1. The event yields are extracted from fits to the distributions of the difference between expected and observed B meson energy, and are efficiency-corrected as a function of m(K − K S ∗ 0 $$ {K}_{(S)}^{\left(\ast \right)0} $$ ) and m(D (*) K S ∗ 0 $$ {K}_{(S)}^{\left(\ast \right)0} $$ ) in order to avoid dependence on the decay model. These results include the first observation of B ¯ 0 $$ {\overline{B}}^0 $$ → D + K − K S 0 $$ {K}_S^0 $$ , B − → D* 0 K − K S 0 $$ {K}_S^0 $$ , and B ¯ 0 $$ {\overline{B}}^0 $$ → D* + K − K S 0 $$ {K}_S^0 $$ decays and a significant improvement in the precision of the other channels compared to previous measurements. The helicity-angle distributions and the invariant mass distributions of the K − K S ∗ 0 $$ {K}_{(S)}^{\left(\ast \right)0} $$ systems are compatible with quasi-two-body decays via a resonant transition with spin-parity J P = 1− for the K − K S 0 $$ {K}_S^0 $$ systems and J P = 1+ for the K − K* 0 systems. We also present measurements of the branching fractions of four B ¯ 0 $$ {\overline{B}}^0 $$ → D (*)+ D s − $$ {D}_s^{-} $$ , B − → D (*)0 D s − $$ {D}_s^{-} $$ decay channels with a precision compatible to the current world averages.

Abstract: Abstract We present an analysis of the process e + e − → π + π − Υ(nS) (where n = 1, 2, or 3) reconstructed in 19.6 fb −1 of Belle II data during a special run of the SuperKEKB collider at four energy points near the peak of the Υ(10753) resonance. By analyzing the mass distribution of the π + π − Υ(nS) system and the Born cross sections of the e + e − → π + π − Υ(nS) process, we report the first observation of Υ(10753) decays to the π + π − Υ(1S) and π + π − Υ(2S) final states, and find no evidence for decays to π + π − Υ(3S). Possible intermediate states in the π + π − Υ(1S, 2S) transitions are also investigated, and no evidence for decays proceeding via the π ∓ Z b ± $$ {\pi}^{\mp }{Z}_b^{\pm } $$ or f 0(980)Υ(nS) intermediate states is found. We measure Born cross sections for the e + e − → π + π − Υ(nS) process that, combined with results from Belle, obtain the mass and width of Υ(10753) to be (10756.6 ± 2.7 ± 0.9) MeV/c 2 and (29.0 ± 8.8 ± 1.2) MeV, respectively. The relative ratios of the Born cross sections at the Υ(10753) resonance peak are also reported for the first time.

Abstract: Abstract We report results from a study of B ± → DK ± decays followed by D decaying to the CP-even final state K + K − and CP-odd final state K S 0 π 0 $$ {K}_S^0{\pi}^0 $$ , where D is an admixture of D 0 and D ¯ 0 $$ {\overline{D}}^0 $$ states. These decays are sensitive to the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa unitarity-triangle angle ϕ 3. The results are based on a combined analysis of the final data set of 772 × 106 B B ¯ $$ B\overline{B} $$ pairs collected by the Belle experiment and a data set of 198 × 106 B B ¯ $$ B\overline{B} $$ pairs collected by the Belle II experiment, both in electron-positron collisions at the Υ(4S) resonance. We measure the CP asymmetries to be A $$ \mathcal{A} $$ CP+ = (+12.5 ± 5.8 ± 1.4)% and A $$ \mathcal{A} $$ CP− = (−16.7 ± 5.7 ± 0.6)%, and the ratios of branching fractions to be R $$ \mathcal{R} $$ CP+ = 1.164 ± 0.081 ± 0.036 and R $$ \mathcal{R} $$ CP− = 1.151 ± 0.074 ± 0.019. The first contribution to the uncertainties is statistical, and the second is systematic. The asymmetries A $$ \mathcal{A} $$ CP+ and A $$ \mathcal{A} $$ CP− have similar magnitudes and opposite signs; their difference corresponds to 3.5 standard deviations. From these values we calculate 68.3% confidence intervals of (8.5 ° < ϕ 3 < 16.5 ° ) or (84.5 ° < ϕ 3 < 95.5 ° ) or (163.3 ° < ϕ 3 < 171.5 ° ) and 0.321 < r B < 0.465.

7. Multidisciplinary management of locally recurrent rectal cancer with carbon ion radiotherapy followed by prophylactic removal of the irradiated bowel: a case report

Abstract: Abstract Background Locally recurrent rectal cancer (LRRC) involving the upper sacrum is typically incurable, and palliative treatment is the only option for most patients, resulting in a poor prognosis and reduced quality of life. Carbon ion radiotherapy (CIRT) has emerged as a promising modality for treating LRRC. This report presents a case of LRRC with sacral involvement that was managed via multidisciplinary therapy incorporating CIRT. Case presentation A 55-year-old male was diagnosed with an anastomotic recurrence of rectal cancer 15 months after undergoing anterior resection. Computed tomography (CT) suggested that the lesion was at an anastomosis site and broadly adherent to the upper sacrum, and colonoscopy confirmed the diagnosis of LRRC. Histopathological examination of the biopsy specimens revealed adenocarcinoma cells and that lesion was genetically RAS-wild. Induction chemotherapy with mFOLFOX6 and panitumumab was used as the first treatment. The recurrent lesion shrank and no signs of distant metastasis were observed after 11 cycles, although the range of the lesions attached to the sacrum remained unchanged. Therefore, we provided CIRT for this inoperable lesion and prophylactically removed the radiation-exposed bowel including the recurrent lesion, because radiation-induced ulcers can cause bleeding and perforation. Despite the presence of considerable fibrosis in the irradiated region, the operation was successful and the postoperative course had no untoward incidents. He is still recurrence-free 24 months following surgery, despite the lack of adjuvant chemotherapy. This is the first report of CIRT followed by CIRT-irradiated bowel removal for an unresectable anastomosis recurrent lesion. Conclusions The clinical course of this case suggests that CIRT could be a potentially effective therapeutic option for LRRC involving the bowel, as long as the prophylactic removal of the irradiated bowel is performed at the optimal time. Further research involving larger sample sizes is warranted to validate the findings and conclusions of this case report.

8. ASSESSMENT OF LIGHT ENVIRONMENT FOR HERBACEOUS VEGETATION IN SEMI-NATURAL GRASSLAND USING TIME-SERIES UAV DATA

Abstract: Grasslands are important ecosystems containing unique biodiversity. It has been reported that some herbaceous species inhabiting grassland reduced its number and became extremely rare. Restoring these species as well as maintaining the grassland are key issues. Light environment is crucial for plant growth and survival. It is particularly important to evaluate light environment of microsite for herbaceous vegetation. In this paper, NDVI, vegetation biomass and gap fraction were estimated using time-series UAV data, and compared to photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD), solar radiation and gap fraction measured by traditional ground-based techniques to validate its utility in accessing light environment for herbaceous vegetation in semi-natural grassland. The results showed that UAV derived variables displayed overall good correlations with ground derived variables: relative PPFD, relative solar radiation and gap fraction. Analysis of time-series UAV data revealed that UAV derived NDVI and vegetation biomass were not suitable for evaluating light environment when vegetation attains its maturity. UAV derived gap fraction was most resilient to change of vegetation growth. UAV derived methods have advantage in evaluating light environment in microsite without disturbing valuable plants and would help restoring semi-natural grassland.

Abstract: Abstract A new measurement of inclusive-jet cross sections in the Breit frame in neutral current deep inelastic scattering using the ZEUS detector at the HERA collider is presented. The data were taken in the years 2004–2007 at a centre-of-mass energy of $$318\,\,\textrm{GeV}$$ 318 GeV and correspond to an integrated luminosity of $$347\,\,\textrm{pb}^{-1}$$ 347 pb - 1 . The jets were reconstructed using the $$k_t$$ k t -algorithm in the Breit reference frame. They have been measured as a function of the squared momentum transfer, $$Q^2$$ Q 2 , and the transverse momentum of the jets in the Breit frame, $$p_{\perp ,\text {Breit}}$$ p ⊥ , Breit . The measured jet cross sections are compared to previous measurements and to perturbative QCD predictions. The measurement has been used in a next-to-next-to-leading-order QCD analysis to perform a simultaneous determination of parton distribution functions of the proton and the strong coupling, resulting in a value of $$\alpha _s(M_Z^2) = 0.1142 \pm 0.0017 \text {~(experimental/fit)}$$ α s ( M Z 2 ) = 0.1142 ± 0.0017 (experimental/fit) $${}_{-0.0007}^{+0.0006} \text {~(model/parameterisation)}$$ - 0.0007 + 0.0006 (model/parameterisation) $${}_{-0.0004}^{+0.0006} \text {~(scale)}$$ - 0.0004 + 0.0006 (scale) , whose accuracy is improved compared to similar measurements. In addition, the running of the strong coupling is demonstrated using data obtained at different scales.

Abstract: Abstract We measure CP asymmetries and branching-fraction ratios for B ± → DK ± and Dπ ± decays with D → K S 0 $$ {K}_{\textrm{S}}^0 $$ K ± π ∓, where D is a superposition of D 0 and D ¯ $$ \overline{D} $$ 0. We use the full data set of the Belle experiment, containing 772 × 106 B B ¯ $$ B\overline{B} $$ pairs, and data from the Belle II experiment, containing 387 × 106 B B ¯ $$ B\overline{B} $$ pairs, both collected in electron-positron collisions at the Υ(4S) resonance. Our results provide model-independent information on the unitarity triangle angle ϕ 3.

Abstract: Abstract The exclusive photoproduction reactions γp → J/ψ(1S)p and γp → ψ(2S)p have been measured at an ep centre-of-mass energy of 318 GeV with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 373 pb −1. The measurement was made in the kinematic range 30 < W < 180 GeV, Q 2 < 1 GeV2 and |t| < 1 GeV2, where W is the photon-proton centre-of-mass energy, Q 2 is the photon virtuality and t is the squared four-momentum transfer at the proton vertex. The decay channels used were J/ψ(1S) → μ + μ − , ψ(2S) → μ + μ − and ψ(2S) → J/ψ(1S)π + π − with subsequent decay J/ψ(1S) → μ + μ − . The ratio of the production cross sections, R = σ ψ(2S) /σ J/ψ(1S), has been measured as a function of W and |t| and compared to previous data in photoproduction and deep inelastic scattering and with predictions of QCD-inspired models of exclusive vector-meson production, which are in reasonable agreement with the data.

Abstract: Abstract The HERAPDF2.0 ensemble of parton distribution functions (PDFs) was introduced in 2015. The final stage is presented, a next-to-next-to-leading-order (NNLO) analysis of the HERA data on inclusive deep inelastic ep scattering together with jet data as published by the H1 and ZEUS collaborations. A perturbative QCD fit, simultaneously of $$\alpha _s(M_Z^2)$$ α s ( M Z 2 ) and the PDFs, was performed with the result $$\alpha _s(M_Z^2)= 0.1156 \pm 0.0011~\mathrm{(exp)}~ ^{+0.0001}_{-0.0002}~ \mathrm{(model}$$ α s ( M Z 2 ) = 0.1156 ± 0.0011 ( exp ) - 0.0002 + 0.0001 ( model $$\mathrm{+ parameterisation)}~ \pm 0.0029~\mathrm{(scale)}$$ + parameterisation ) ± 0.0029 ( scale ) . The PDF sets of HERAPDF2.0Jets NNLO were determined with separate fits using two fixed values of $$\alpha _s(M_Z^2)$$ α s ( M Z 2 ) , $$\alpha _s(M_Z^2)=0.1155$$ α s ( M Z 2 ) = 0.1155 and 0.118, since the latter value was already chosen for the published HERAPDF2.0 NNLO analysis based on HERA inclusive DIS data only. The different sets of PDFs are presented, evaluated and compared. The consistency of the PDFs determined with and without the jet data demonstrates the consistency of HERA inclusive and jet-production cross-section data. The inclusion of the jet data reduced the uncertainty on the gluon PDF. Predictions based on the PDFs of HERAPDF2.0Jets NNLO give an excellent description of the jet-production data used as input.

Abstract: Abstract Collective behaviour of final-state hadrons, and multiparton interactions are studied in high-multiplicity ep scattering at a centre-of-mass energy s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 318 GeV with the ZEUS detector at HERA. Two- and four-particle azimuthal correlations, as well as multiplicity, transverse momentum, and pseudorapidity distributions for charged-particle multiplicities N ch ≥ 20 are measured. The dependence of two-particle correlations on the virtuality of the exchanged photon shows a clear transition from photoproduction to neutral current deep inelastic scattering. For the multiplicities studied, neither the measurements in photoproduction processes nor those in neutral current deep inelastic scattering indicate significant collective behaviour of the kind observed in high-multiplicity hadronic collisions at RHIC and the LHC. Comparisons of PYTHIA predictions with the measurements in photoproduction strongly indicate the presence of multiparton interactions from hadronic fluctuations of the exchanged photon.

Abstract: Background: As populations age and pandemics continue, grief disrupts the health and productivity of increasingly bereaved populations. While funerals can reconnect old friends and relations to provide psycho-social support, and satisfying funeral participation reportedly reduces such psychiatric complications of grief, the psychological effects of recent restrictions on funerals remains unclear. This first English report of open-ended responses to a Japan-wide survey sheds some light on this by looking at Japanese psychological reflections on their funerals. Objectives: To determine what aspects of funerals the Japanese bereaved feel psycho-socially valuable or conversely problematic, and for what reasons. Setting: Data were collected using anonymized all-Japan postal surveys from 2019 to 2020. Participants: 288 recently-bereaved chief mourners submitted 353 open-ended responses discussing their experiences and feelings about the funerals they conducted. Method: Anonymized data were divided into positive, regrets, vacillations, and negative comments about the subjects most frequently cited. Results: Most commonly cited were funeral directors (64), attendees (56), ritual/ceremony (49), and the need for (pre-)planning (40). Respondents profoundly appreciated funeral directors' support, and regretted not having planned better or invited more people to the funeral. Dissatisfaction tended to focus on unexplained expenses and mistakes or offenses in rituals. Many also criticized their doctors for not realistically forecasting their loved ones' demise. Conclusions: Responses validated that responsive funeral directors can significantly support their clients through early acute grief, and that inviting more celebrants to a full funeral facilitates psycho-social support and may obviate future regrets. Rituals too provide memorable means to help survivors deal with grief. Medical professionals should psychologically encourage terminal patients' families to communicate while patients are still coherent; families are strongly advised to discuss funeral plans with their elders before the end of life.

18. Hemostatic effects of kyukikyogaito in dienogest treatment

Abstract: Purpose of Investigation: A frequent side effect of treatment with dienogest (DNG) is irregular bleeding. The present study investigated the benefits of adding traditional Japanese Kampo medicine (kyukikyogaito), which has known hemostatic effects, on DNG treatment. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study assessed the occurrence of irregular bleeding in 175 patients following oral administration of DNG (2 mg/day) for three months or more. The authors also investigated the clinical hemostatic effects of kyukikyogaito (TJ-77; 9.0 g/day) administered for 30 days in patients with irregular bleeding. Results: The frequency of irregular bleeding in patients who received DNG was 80.0%. The continuation rates for DNG treatment were 62.3% in the DNG alone group and 85.0% in the DNG plus kyukikyogaito group (p = 0.016). The efficacy of kyukikyogaito among patients with irregular bleeding was 82.6%. Conclusion: Administration of kyukikyogaito, which includes Artemisia leaf and donkey glue, was effective and could improve the continuation rate for DNG treatment by reducing irregular bleeding.

Abstract: Grasslands are important ecosystems to provide various economic and ecological services. In Japan, grassland of Miscanthus sinensis, which is a tall, perennial grass species, has been one of the symbolic landscape and require efficient monitoring system for better management. In this study, canopy height and biomass of M. sinensis in semi-natural grassland are estimated using time-series UAV imagery and structure from motion (SfM) and multi-view stereo (MVS) technique. The effect of complex topography on estimation of the canopy height and biomass is analysed as well as monitoring growth of M. sinensis. The results showed that UAV derived maximum canopy height and biomass have significant correlation with vegetation survey data producing R2 value of 0.92 and 0.78, respectively. The effect of topographic landforms was found to be smallest on top of the hill, followed by slope. Valley-like sunken place was affected worst. Analysis using time-series UAV data revealed that growth of M. sinensis is different between the landforms, and the best time to estimate its biomass was different between them. In order to accurately estimate canopy height and biomass of tall grass species such as M. sinensis, it is important to take plant growth stage into consideration as well as topographic landforms.

Abstract: Abstract Two-particle azimuthal correlations have been measured in neutral current deep inelastic ep scattering with virtuality Q 2 > 5 GeV2 at a centre-of-mass energy s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 318 GeV recorded with the ZEUS detector at HERA. The correlations of charged particles have been measured in the range of laboratory pseudorapidity −1.5 < η < 2.0 and transverse momentum 0.1 < p T < 5.0 GeV and event multiplicities N ch up to six times larger than the average 〈N ch〉 ≈ 5. The two-particle correlations have been measured in terms of the angular observables c n{2} = 〈〈cosnΔφ〉〉, where n is between 1 and 4 and ∆φ is the relative azimuthal angle between the two particles. Comparisons with available models of deep inelastic scattering, which are tuned to reproduce inclusive particle production, suggest that the measured two-particle correlations are dominated by contributions from multijet production. The correlations observed here do not indicate the kind of collective behaviour recently observed at the highest RHIC and LHC energies in high-multiplicity hadronic collisions.

Abstract: Accreting supermassive black holes (SMBHs) located at the centers of galaxies are typically surrounded by large quantities of gas and dust. The structure and evolution of this circumnuclear material can be studied at different wavelengths, from the submillimeter to the X-ray. Recent X-ray studies have shown that the covering factor of the obscuring material tends to decrease with increasing Eddington ratio, likely due to radiative feedback on dusty gas. Here we study a sample of 549 nearby ( z ≲ 0.1) hard X-ray (14–195 keV) selected nonblazar active galactic nuclei (AGN) and use the ratio between the AGN infrared and bolometric luminosity as a proxy of the covering factor. We find that, in agreement with what has been found by X-ray studies of the same sample, the covering factor decreases with increasing Eddington ratio. We also confirm previous findings that showed that obscured AGN typically have larger covering factors than unobscured sources. Finally, we find that the median covering factors of AGN located in different regions of the column density–Eddington ratio diagram are in good agreement with what would be expected from a radiation-regulated growth of SMBHs.

Abstract: Abstract Background Deficiency of DNA mismatch repair (MMR) induces microsatellite instability (MSI). Pembrolizumab, an antibody targeting PD‐1 (an immune checkpoint inhibitor), is more effective against MMR‐deficient tumours than against MMR‐proficient tumours. The status of MMR is a useful biomarker for predicting the effectiveness of pembrolizumab administration. Although the status of MMR has attracted attention in skin tumours, there are few reports on MSI in extramammary Paget's disease (EMPD). Objectives To evaluate the status of MMR in patients with EMPD. Materials & Methods One hundred one patients with EMPD were included. MMR status of the genomic DNA of each subject was analysed using Promega panel (approved as a companion diagnostic agent for the administration of pembrolizumab). Results MSI testing showed the occurrence rates of MSI‐high (more than two markers are unstable), MSI‐low (one marker is unstable) and MSS (all markers are stable) tumour tissues were 0% (0/101), 1.0% (1/101) and 99.0% (100/101), respectively. Conclusion The status of MMR may not be useful for the potential therapeutic application of pembrolizumab.

Abstract: A new Super-Kamiokande (SK) search for Supernova Relic Neutrinos (SRNs) was conducted using 2853 live days of data. Sensitivity is now greatly improved compared to the 2003 SK result, which placed a flux limit near many theoretical predictions. This more detailed analysis includes a variety of improvements such as increased efficiency, a lower energy threshold, and an expanded data set. New combined upper limits on SRN flux are between 2.8 and 3.0 nu_e cm^-2 s^-1 > 16 MeV total positron energy (17.3 MeV E_nu).

Abstract: Abstract Charm production in charged current deep inelastic scattering has been measured for the first time in e ± p collisions, using data collected with the ZEUS detector at HERA, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 358 pb−1. Results are presented separately for e + p and e − p scattering at a centre-of-mass energy of s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 318 GeV within a kinematic phase-space region of 200 GeV2 < Q 2 < 60000 GeV2 and y < 0.9, where Q 2 is the squared four-momentum transfer and y is the inelasticity. The measured cross sections of electroweak charm production are consistent with expectations from the Standard Model within the large statistical uncertainties.

Abstract: Herbaceous vegetation on riverdike is important to prevent soil erosion, which may lead to collapse of riverdikes and consequently severe flooding. To keep suitable vegetation condition and secure visibility of riverdike for inspection, managers need to know where thick and tall herbaceous vegetation grows on riverdikes in a cost effective manner. This paper aims to derive vertical structure of herbaceous vegetation on riverdike using UAV LiDAR. UAV LiDAR based indices, V-bottom, V-middle and V-top; presence of vegetation in bottom vegetation (0–50 cm), middle vegetation (50–100 cm) and top vegetation (>100 cm) respectively, were calculated and compared to field survey data for validation. The results showed that UAV LiDAR based assessment strongly correlated with field based assessment in middle and top vegetation with R2 = 0.67 and 0.85, respectively. However, it displayed only moderate correlation in bottom vegetation (R2 = 0.36). It was found that bottom vegetation might be underestimated when forb species or falling grass species is abundant in middle vegetation. However, underestimated place can be easily checked using proposed UAV LiDAR based V-bottom and V-middle values. The vertical structure information derived by proposed method would be valuable assets for vegetation management on riverdike.

Abstract: Abstract Measurements of open charm and beauty production cross sections in deep inelastic ep scattering at HERA from the H1 and ZEUS Collaborations are combined. Reduced cross sections are obtained in the kinematic range of negative four-momentum transfer squared of the photon $$2.5~\hbox {GeV}^2\le Q^2 \le 2000\, \hbox {GeV}^2$$ 2.5GeV2≤Q2≤2000GeV2 and Bjorken scaling variable $$3 \cdot 10^{-5} \le x_\mathrm{Bj} \le 5 \cdot 10^{-2}$$ 3·10-5≤xBj≤5·10-2 . The combination method accounts for the correlations of the statistical and systematic uncertainties among the different datasets. Perturbative QCD calculations are compared to the combined data. A next-to-leading order QCD analysis is performed using these data together with the combined inclusive deep inelastic scattering cross sections from HERA. The running charm- and beauty-quark masses are determined as $$m_c(m_c) = 1.290^{+0.046}_{-0.041} \mathrm{(exp/fit)}$$ mc(mc)=1.290-0.041+0.046(exp/fit) $${}^{+0.062}_{-0.014} \mathrm{(model)}$$ -0.014+0.062(model) $${}^{+0.003}_{-0.031} \mathrm{(parameterisation)}$$ -0.031+0.003(parameterisation) GeV and $$m_b(m_b) = 4.049^{+0.104}_{-0.109} \mathrm{(exp/fit)}$$ mb(mb)=4.049-0.109+0.104(exp/fit) $${}^{+0.090}_{-0.032} \mathrm{(model)}$$ -0.032+0.090(model) $${}^{+0.001}_{-0.031} \mathrm{(parameterisation)}~\mathrm{GeV}$$ -0.031+0.001(parameterisation)GeV .

Background Phase mapping using software of ExTRa Mapping is a new tool to clarify the localization of rotor in atrial fibrillation (AF), but the spatial distribution of rotor in right atrium (RA) and the effect of ablation is not clear compared with left atrium (LA). Purpose This study sought to investigate the spatial distribution of rotor in RA and the safety and effectiveness of RA rotor ablation after pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) in patients with persistent AF. Methods ExTRa mapping with a 20-polar Reflexion catheter in RA was performed in 2nd or 3rd ablation for recurrent AF after PVI in 16 patients with persistent AF (including 4 patients with long standing >1 year AF, 15 men, mean age 67±7.7years old, mean LAD 42±5.4mm, mean EF 57±11%). Rotor was defined as NPAs (non-passively activated areas) in which the percentage of the non-passively activated period in the recording time of 5 seconds is over 50%. RA was divided into 5 areas of crista terminalis (CT), septum (Sept), free wall of RA appendage (fRAA), septal side of RAA (sRAA), behind aorta (Ao), and distribution of NPAs was investigated. RA minimal ablation to NPAs was performed to avoid sinus node and phrenic nerve. The outcomes of AF recurrence were analyzed. Results NPAs in RA were observed in 15 of 16 cases, and 67% of cases in CT, 75% in Sept, 80% in fRAA, 20% in sRAA, and 43% in Ao. RA minimal ablation was performed in 21 NPAs in 8 patients to avoid sinus node and phrenic nerve. In a mean follow-up of 307±204 days, freedom from any atrial tachyarrhythmias without antiarrhythmic drugs was achieved in 9 of 16 patients (56%). In 4 (80%) of 5 patients in whom more than 75% area of NPAs were eliminated, sinus rhythm was maintained. There was no serious complication. Conclusion Rotor in RA existed relatively frequently in septum, fRAA and CT. RA rotor ablation was safe and could be a new strategy after PVI for persistent AF.

Abstract: A search for a narrow baryonic state in the pKS0 and p‾KS0 system has been performed in ep collisions at HERA with the ZEUS detector using an integrated luminosity of 358pb−1 taken in 2003–2007. The search was performed with deep inelastic scattering events at an ep centre-of-mass energy of 318GeV for exchanged photon virtuality, Q2, between 20 and 100GeV2. Contrary to evidence presented for such a state around 1.52 GeV in a previous ZEUS analysis using a sample of 121 pb−1 taken in 1996–2000, no resonance peak was found in the p(p‾)KS0 invariant-mass distribution in the range 1.45–1.7 GeV. Upper limits on the production cross section are set.

Abstract: An absolute measurement of the Λ_{c}^{+} lifetime is reported using Λ_{c}^{+}→pK^{-}π^{+} decays in events reconstructed from data collected by the Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB asymmetric-energy electron-positron collider. The total integrated luminosity of the data sample, which was collected at center-of-mass energies at or near the ϒ(4S) resonance, is 207.2 fb^{-1}. The result, τ(Λ_{c}^{+})=203.20±0.89±0.77 fs, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic, is the most precise measurement to date and is consistent with previous determinations.

42. Edge-spin-derived magnetism in few-layer MoS2 nanomeshes

Abstract: Magnetism arising from edge spins is highly interesting, particularly in 2D atomically thin materials in which the influence of edges becomes more significant. Among such materials, molybdenum disulfide (MoS2; one of the transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) family) is attracting significant attention. The causes for magnetism observed in the TMD family, including in MoS2, have been discussed by considering various aspects, such as pure zigzag atomic-structure edges, grain boundaries, and vacancies. Here, we report the observation of ferromagnetism (FM) in few-layer MoS2 nanomeshes (NMs; honeycomb-like array of hexagonal nanopores with low-contamination and low-defect pore edges), which have been created by a specific non-lithographic method. We confirm robust FM arising from pore edges in oxygen(O)-terminated MoS2-NMs at room temperature, while it disappears in hydrogen(H)-terminated samples. The observed high-sensitivity of FM to NM structures and critical annealing temperatures suggest a possibility that the Mo-atom dangling bond in pore edge is a dominant factor for the FM.

Abstract: OBJECTIVE: To retrospectively evaluate the clinical outcomes of pre-operative endovascular coil embolisation (ECE) for chronic pulmonary aspergillosis (CPA).METHODS: We evaluated surgical patients with CPA between November 2016 and April 2020. Pre-operative ECE for CPA with severe adhesions was selectively performed to reduce intra-operative blood loss. ECE procedures, operative procedures, intra-operative blood loss and complications were evaluated.RESULTS: Twenty-eight patients (21 males and 7 females; median age: 55 years) were included in the study. Of the 28 patients, 8 (28.6%) underwent pre-operative ECE. Technical success rate in pre-operative ECE was 100%. The median time required for ECE procedures was 123 min. The median number of vessels embolised per procedure was 2.5. The median period between embolisation and surgery was 5 days. Major complications were observed in three patients (10.7%). There were no significant differences between patients with and without pre-operative ECE in operative time (284 vs. 365 min, respectively, P = 0.7602) and intra-operative blood loss (294 vs. 228 mL, respectively, P = 0.8987).CONCLUSIONS: Pre-operative ECE for CPA appears to be feasible and safe; however, its role in reducing intra-operative blood loss needs further investigation.

45. Association between the changes in walking speed during 6 months after discharge and subsequent prognosis in older patients with heart failure: report from a multicenter prospective cohort study

Abstract: Background Walking speed (WS) is one of the key components of physical frailty associated with a prognosis in patients with heart failure (HF). However, the prognostic impact of changes in WS after discharge in patients with HF remains to be examined. Purpose The purpose of this study was to examined the association between the change in WS during 6 months after discharge and subsequent prognosis in older patients with HF. Methods This study was performed as a sub-analysis of the multicenter cohort study in Japan (FLAGSHIP). We analyzed patients hospitalized for HF aged ≥65 years whose WS was measured at discharge and after 6 months of discharge. Based on the patterns of WS at the two points, patients were divided into four groups (A: WS ≥0.98 m/s both at discharge and 6-month; B: ≥0.98 m/s at discharge, Results A total of 890 patients were included in this study (Group A: n=386, B: n=51, C: n=143, D: n=310). There was a significant difference in HF rehospitalization after 6-month of discharge among the four groups (Log-rank test, p=0.01, Figure 1). In the crude model, hazard ratio (HR) of group B compared with A was 2.26 [95% confidence interval: 1.19–4.27, p=0.013], HR of C was 1.00 [0.56–1.77, p=0.988], and HR of D was 1.66 [1.11–2.47, p=0.013]. In model 1, HR of B was 2.12 [1.11–4.07, p=0.023], HR of C was 0.99 [0.56–1.75, p=0.964], and HR of D was 1.56 [1.01–2.42, p=0.047]. In model 2, HR of B was 0.95 [0.45–1.97, p=0.897], HR of C was 0.67 [0.35–1.26, p=0.212], and HR of D was [0.25–0.80, p=0.007]. Conclusion Although slow WS is associated with poor prognosis, the prognosis might be improved if WS increases by 6 months after discharge. Abstract: Background Mutations in the LMNA gene encoding Lamin A/C, a major component of the nuclear lamina, cause laminopathies including dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). DCM patients with LMNA mutations have particularly severe clinical courses such as heart transplantation and death due to heart failure. However, underlying mechanisms of LMNA-induced DCM remains elusive. Methods and results We identified LMNA Q353R mutation in a DCM family with severe heart failure. We generated Q353R heterozygous knock-in mice, which showed sarcomere dysplasia and perinatal lethality. Integrative single-cell analyses of the fetal murine hearts and patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes (iPSCMs) revealed that transcriptional regulation of cardiomyocyte maturation/development genes governed by TEAD1 was impaired in LMNA mutant cardiomyocytes. Protein array and immunostaining uncovered increased binding of TEAD1 to mutant Lamin A/C protein and abnormal localization of TEAD1 at the nuclear periphery. Furthermore, TT-10, a Hippo pathway inhibitor, rescued the dysregulation of cardiac developmental genes in LMNA mutant cardiomyocytes. Single-cell RNA-seq of cardiac tissues from DCM patients with the LMNA Q353R mutation confirmed the dysregulated expression of TEAD1 and its target genes. These results demonstrated abnormal interaction between TEAD1 and mutant Lamin A/C impairs structural maturation of cardiomyocytes and suggests that LMNA Q353R-related DCM can be treated through intervention in the Hippo pathway. Conclusion TEAD1 trapped by mutant Lamin A/C protein at the nuclear membrane perturbs transcriptional maturation in LMNA Q353R-related DCM. Funding Acknowledgement Type of funding sources: None.

47. Frailty and use of treatment in patients with heart failure and reduced ejection fraction

Abstract: Background In heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), drugs including angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEi)/ angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB), beta-blockers, and mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (MRA) have been shown to have robust survival benefits. However, these guideline-recommended therapies remain underutilized in clinical practice. Frailty is common in HFrEF and may lead to underprescription of life-saving therapy. Purpose We aimed to investigate the association between physical frailty and the use of evidence-based pharmacological therapy for HFrEF, and the impact of this on prognosis Methods The FLAGSHIP study included patients hospitalized for acute HF and data on physical frailty were collected prospectively. Of the total 3,272 patients registered in the FLAGSHIP study, 1,041 HFrEF patients (70 years; 73% male) with left ventricular ejection fraction ≤40% were analyzed and were divided into 4 groups by severity of frailty: category I (n=371) [least frail], II (n=275), III (n=224), and IV (n=171) [most frail]. Results An ACEi/ARB was prescribed in 76% of category I and 53% of category IV patients; for a beta-blocker these proportions were 94% and 76%, respectively; for an MRA they were 55% and 46%, respectively. The proportion of patients using receiving all 3 drugs decreased as frailty increased, with approximately twice the rate of use of triple therapy in category I patients (40.2%) compared to category IV patients (23.4%) [p Conclusions Prescription of guideline-recommended therapy decreased as the severity of frailty increased in patients with HFrEF. Sub-optimal medical therapy was associated with a worse outcome and underprescription of guideline-recommended therapy may contribute to the poor prognosis associated with frailty. Abstract: Samples of the carbonaceous asteroid Ryugu were brought to Earth by the Hayabusa2 spacecraft. We analyzed 17 Ryugu samples measuring 1 to 8 millimeters. Carbon dioxide–bearing water inclusions are present within a pyrrhotite crystal, indicating that Ryugu’s parent asteroid formed in the outer Solar System. The samples contain low abundances of materials that formed at high temperatures, such as chondrules and calcium- and aluminum-rich inclusions. Abstract: Periodontitis is an oral chronic infection/inflammatory condition, identified as a source of mediators of inflammation into the blood circulation, which may contribute to exacerbate several diseases. There is increasing evidence that inflammation plays a key role in the pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Although inflammation is present in both diseases, the exact mechanisms and crosslinks between periodontitis and AD are poorly understood. Therefore, this article aims to review possible comorbidity between periodontitis and AD. Here, the authors discuss the inflammatory aspects of periodontitis, how this oral condition produces a systemic inflammation and, finally, the contribution of this systemic inflammation for worsening neuroinflammation in the progression of AD.

50. Robust spin-current injection in lateral spin valves with two-terminal Co2FeSi spin injectors

Abstract: We demonstrate generation and detection of pure spin currents by combining a two-terminal spin-injection technique and Co2FeSi (CFS) spin injectors in lateral spin valves (LSVs). We find that the two-terminal spin injection with CFS has the robust dependence of the nonlocal spin signals on the applied bias currents, markedly superior to the four-terminal spin injection with permalloy reported previously. In our LSVs, since the spin transfer torque from one CFS injector to another CFS one is large, the nonlocal magnetoresistance with respect to applied magnetic fields shows large asymmetry in high bias-current conditions. For utilizing multi-terminal spin injection with CFS as a method for magnetization reversals, the terminal arrangement of CFS spin injectors should be taken into account.
