Microstructure, structural and magnetic phase transitions of the melt spun Ni50Mn35Sn15ribbons have been examined by means of scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry and magnetic measurements. The melt spun ribbons exhibit a single phase cubic L21austenite structure at room temperature with a space group Fm−3m, and lattice parameter a = 5.956 Å. The DSC results reveal the first order reverse and forward martensitic transition (Ms= 147.4 K, Mf= 133.7 K, As= 155 K and Af= 171 K) with a thermal hysteresis of about 21.3 K around the martensitic transition between heating and cooling. The thermomagnetic measurements show that the melt spun ribbons undergo a second order magnetic transition at a Curie temperature TC= 310 K and a first order martensitic transition at TM= 160 K. The critical behavior associated with the magnetic phase transition has been investigated through the isothermal magnetization measurements around TC. The critical exponents have been estimated by several methods such as the modified Arrott plots, Kouvel-Fisher method and critical isothermal analysis. The critical exponents values β=0.456, γ=0.88 and δ=2.929 are close to those predicted from the mean field model revealing a dominated long-range order of magnetic interactions. For an applied magnetic field of 5 T, the maximum magnetic entropy change (ΔSMmax) and the relative cooling power (RCP) values around TCare of about 2.105 J/kg.K and 132.5 J/kg, respectively. (Fe1−xMnx)2P phosphide powders in the composition range 0.15 ≤ x ≤ 0.75 have been mechanically alloyed and their structural, magnetic and thermal changes with composition have been investigated by means of X-ray diffraction, 57Fe Mossbauer spectrometry, magnetization measurements and differential scanning calorimetry. The milling process induces changes in the crystal phase diagram of the (Fe1−xMnx)2P system. The XRD results reveal the coexistence of a bcc Fe(Mn)-type, hexagonal (Fe2P and Mn2P-type), orthorhombic (MnP-type) and tetragonal Fe3P-type structures for all compositions. The room temperature Mossbauer spectra confirm the formation of the Fe(Mn)-type, non-stoichiometric Fe2P-type, FeP-type and Fe3P-type structures. Saturation magnetization exhibits a comparable behavior to that of the average hyperfine magnetic field. The DSC scans show the existence of several endothermic and exothermic peaks in the temperature range (100–700) °C related to different phase transitions. The endothermic peak at about 582–589 °C can be related to the ferromagnetic/paramagnetic transition temperature (Curie temperature, TC) of the Fe(Mn)-type structure.

Nanocrystalline Cu50Ni50 alloy powder was prepared by the mechanical alloying process in high-energy planetary ball mill P7 under an argon atmosphere. Structural, microstructural, morphological, and magnetic properties were followed by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy coupled with EDX analysis, and vibrating sample magnetometry. The mixing of Cu and Ni powders at the atomic level leads to the formation, after 30 h of milling, of two fcc NiCu structures having crystallite sizes of about 15.6 and 65.9 nm and close lattice parameters of about 3.5783 and 3.5794 A that would correspond to Ni 41.8Cu 58.1 (40.75 %) and Ni 40.6Cu 59.4 (59.25 %) compositions, respectively. Magnetic measurements reveal that the obtained powders are typical soft magnetic materials. According to the Mr/Ms ratio, the grains are either pseudo-single domain or multidomain.

Anemia is a common consequence of cancerous disease. In lung cancer its prevalence is 37.6%, and its incidence after chemotherapy treatment is 80%. It is a prognostic factor for survival and may affect the efficacy and safety of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Objective: To estimate the prevalence and incidence of anemia in patients with lung cancer. Methods: retrospective study including all patients treated for lung cancer who had at least one anemic episode during 3 years. Results: The analysis included 264 lung cancer patients with hemoglobin less than 80% of normal, anemia was found in 33.7% of patients before any treatment, and in 66.3% of those treated with chemotherapy. The median age was 62 years ( Conclusion: Both the prevalence and incidence of anemia in lung cancer should be taken into consideration because of the strong correlation between anemia and quality of life and the prognosis of patients with.

Mechanically alloyed Fe73.5Si13.5 B 9Nb3Cu1 powders were used as feedstock materials for depositing nano/amorphous coatings by high-velocity oxy-fuel thermal spraying process. Morphology, structure, microstructure, hyperfine, and magnetic properties have been investigated by scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, Mossbauer spectrometry, and vibrating sample magnetometer. The coating structure consists of bcc Fe(B)-type, bcc Fe(Si)-type, and amorphous phases. The crystallite sizes of Fe(Si) and Fe(B) solid solutions increase after spraying to about (72–82) and (48–81) nm, respectively. The Mossbauer spectrometry results reveal the presence of Fe2B boride. The squareness ratio M r/ M s and the coercivity values of the coatings decrease with increasing the number of passes.

The critical exponents around the ferromagnetic–paramagnetic (PM-FM) phase transition and the magnetocaloric effect in the nanocrystalline (NC) Cu50Ni50 powders have been investigated. The alloy powder exhibits a second order magnetic phase transition. For a field change of 1 and 7 T, - Δ S M peak increases from 0.30 to 1.54 J/kg.K, respectively, and the relative cooling power values were found to vary between 43.6 and 271.9 J/kg. The critical behavior has been studied in details by using the modified Arrott plots and critical isotherm plots. The obtained critical exponent values β = 0.505 , γ = 1.062 and δ = 3.037 are close to those predicted from the universal theory of mean-field model. This suggests that the magnetic interactions are long range around the Curie temperature, TC. Low cost magnetocaloric NC CuNi powders are good candidates for magnetic cooling applications.

Mechanical alloying was used to prepare Fe 57 Co 21 Nb 7 B 15 (7Nb) and Fe 61 Co 21 Nb 3 B 15 (3Nb) powder mixtures in a high-energy planetary ball mill under argon atmosphere. Thermal stability, structural and magnetic properties were followed by differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray diffraction, vibrating sample magnetometry and Mossbauer spectrometry. For the Fe 57 Co 21 Nb 7 B 15 powders, an amorphous matrix (∼69%) where nanocrystalline bcc FeCo, bcc Nb(B), tetragonal Fe 2 B and orthorhombic Fe 3 B type phases were embedded is reached after 96 h of milling. However, for the Fe 61 Co 21 Nb 3 B 15 mixture, the partially amorphous structure (∼75%) is achieved within 48 h of milling. Further milling time (up to 96 h) gives rise to the primary crystallization of α-Fe in addition to bcc FeCo, orthorhombic FeB, tetragonal Fe 2 B and tetragonal Fe 3 B type borides. Lower Nb content powders (3Nb) exhibit higher saturation magnetization, Ms, higher coercive field, Hc, and lower glass transition temperature values than those of the 7Nb powders.

Partially amorphous Fe57Co21Nb7B15 powder mixture was prepared by mechanical alloying in a high energy planetary ball-mill under argon atmosphere. Thermal stability, magnetic properties, structural and morphological changes during the milling process were followed by differential scanning calorimetry, vibrating sample magnetometry, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. A duplex nanostructure of Fe(Co) and Fe-boride nanocrystals within an amorphous matrix is achieved on further milling time. Depending on the structural state of the milled powders, two or several overlapping exothermic peaks over the temperature range 100–700 °C were revealed in the DSC scans. The saturation magnetization and coercivity values are of about 111 emu g−1 and 59 Oe, respectively, after 96 h of milling.

Introduction Les pneumonies aigues communautaires (PAC) sont des infections du poumon frequentes et potentiellement graves acquises en dehors de toute hospitalisation ou de soins. Le pneumocoque est le principal germe. Elles constituent un probleme de sante publique et demeurent une urgence diagnostique et therapeutique du fait des risques de complications en l’absence d’un traitement precoce qui est probabiliste dans la majorite des cas. Methodes Etude prospective sur 8 mois (decembre 2015 a juillet 2016) portant sur 52 cas de PAC recus au pavillon des urgences du CHU de Bab-El-Oued avec description de leur profil clinique, radiologique, biologique et evolutif. Une radiographie thoracique, FNS, hemocultures et antigenurie en cas de suspicion de legionellose ont ete faites systematiquement. Le CURB65 a ete utilise pour decider de l’hospitalisation. Resultats Durant la periode suscitee, 52 cas de PAC ont ete releves. Le sex-ratio H/F a 1 (27 femmes et 25 hommes) avec un âge moyen de 65 ans (20 a 95 ans). Cinquante pour cent des patients sont fumeurs dont 2 fumeurs de cannabis. Trente-huit cas (73 %) presentent une comorbidite :cardiovasculaire 22 cas (42,3 %), diabete type II 18 cas (34,61 %), asthme 8 cas (15,38 %), BPCO 5 cas (9,61 %) et 2 cas d’insuffisance renale. La symptomatologie est dominee par les signes fonctionnels respiratoires : toux productive 47 cas (90 %) et generaux (65 %). Seize patients (30,77 %) ont presente des signes extra-respiratoires digestifs et neurologiques. La radiographie thoracique standard objectivait un syndrome alveolaire dans 51 cas (98 %), un syndrome interstitiel dans un cas (1,92 %) et association avec une image pleurale : 01 cas (13 %). L’atteinte pulmonaire etait unilaterale dans 51 cas (98 %). La FNS montrait une hyperleucocytose dans 44 cas (84,62 %), l’hemoculture etait positive dans un cas (staphylocoque aureus) de meme pour l’antigenurie antilegionelle realisee chez 16 patients (30,77 %). Pour le CURB65, 41 cas avaient un score inferieur a 2 (78,84 %) avec une prise en charge en ambulatoire et superieur ou egal a 2 dans 11 cas (21,16 %) hospitalises dont 5 en reanimation. L’antibiotherapie probabiliste amoxicilline-acide clavulanique etait la plus prescrite dans 30 cas (57,70 %). L’evolution etait favorable dans 49 cas (94,23 %). On a enregistre 3 deces chez des patients âges de plus de 80 ans. Conclusion Les PAC sont frequentes en consultation d’urgences de pneumologie, le plus souvent traitees de facon empirique car la documentation microbiologique est difficile a obtenir. Un diagnostic precoce et un traitement oriente permettent de reduire la mortalite.

In Algeria, the emergency hospital is the main pillar of primary care medicine. Study objective Description medical characteristics, and management of patients consulting for respiratory emergencies. Prospective: study of persons presenting to the emergency department of Bab El Oued hospital, as part of an unscheduled consultations for respiratory symptoms during the period of the investigation. The collection is made from November 1, 2014 to January 20, 2015. Data collection was done by doctors in their care at the emergency center using a questionnaire. Results: During the survey period, 123 patients were collected. The largest recourse levels concerned the over 70 years (40 cases). 47% of patients had consulted the emergency department for the current episode at 2.8 times on average, and 21 patients were in exploration with an average time between the last consultation and reliance on emergency 10 days. In 30% of cases, the situation that led to consult dated from the same day but in 70% of cases, she dated back or several days. Half of the patients had at least one associated comorbidity. The reasons for consultation were: dyspnea, cough and fever. In 43 % of cases, it was a simple consultation with no associated therapeutic procedure and the most prescribed treatment to patient discharge were antibiotics. Diagnoses made at the end of treatment were dominated by acute respiratory infections followed by COPD exacerbations. The majority of patients returning home after their passage to emergencies, but 21 were hospitalized. The average length of stay in the emergency center was 2.3 days. Conclusion: The majority of emergencies received during the investigation period was not considered real emergencies.

The aim of our study was to determine the frequency and reasons for emergency room visits of patients with lung cancer and the procedures and results of their treatment. Patients and methods: Retrospective study on all patients with lung cancer monitoring within the hospital of Bab El Oued pulmonology department from January 2008 to November 2014 and has submitted an acute symptoms requiring emergency consultation. Results: Among the 858 patients with lung cancer followed in the pulmonology department during this period, 718 had emergency consultation, primarily for poor general condition 37.7%, respiratory complaints 40.6%, pain 19%, convulsion 12% or severe infectious syndrome 2%. The reason for consultation was mainly due to toxicity of treatment in 35% of cases and tumor progression in 29.8% of cases. The main diagnoses were superior vena cava syndrome 5.4%, brain metastases 15.6%, spinal cord compression 5.9%, pleural and pericardial effusions 10.2%, infection severe 2%, respiratory distress 2.8%, thromboembolic disease 13.3%, grade 3/4 anemia 23.6%, grade 3-4 neutropenia 8%, thrombocytopenia grade 3-4 4%, hyponatremia 3.1% and hypocalcemia 0.8%. The main treatments given included a decompressive radiation therapy in 21.7% of patients, anticoagulants in 13.3% of cases, a blood transfusion in 23.6% of cases and corticosteroids 23.8%, antibiotics 13, 3%. In the short term, mortality was 3.4%. Conclusion: Lung cancer patients frequently consult the emergency department for complications related to cancer or its treatment this underlines the importance of early use of supportive care alongside the oncological treatment.

Introduction La charge de morbidite du cancer bronchique primitif (CBP) du sujet âge devient importante dans les services de pneumologie. Dans notre service, de 2008 a 2016, 33,3 % des patients traites pour cancer bronchique avaient plus de 70 ans. Notre travail avait pour objectif d’estimer la survie globale et d’etudier l’importance des facteurs pronostiques dans une population de 308 patients âges de plus de 70 ans, porteurs de CBP, colliges de janvier 2008 a juin 2016. Methodes Pour la plupart des patients, le bilan initial comportait au minimum une endoscopie bronchique, une tomodensitometrie thoracique et une echographie abdominale. En chimiotherapie de premiere ligne, l’association pemetrexed, carboplatine ± avastin etait administree en 1re ligne en cas de CBNPC de type non epidermoide. Une bitherapie a base de carboplatine et une molecule de 3e generation (gemcitabine, vinorelbine) etait donnee en cas d’epidermoide. La reponse a la chimiotherapie etait evaluee apres 3 cycles, selon les criteres RECIST et les toxicites selon les criteres OMS. Les resultats des donnees etaient exprimes en nombres et pourcentages. Les taux de survie etaient calcules par la methode de Kaplan-Meier et presentes avec leurs intervalles de confiance a 95 %. Une methode de test log-rank etait utilisee pour la comparaison des courbes de survie. Resultats Les 308 cas (9,6 % femmes, 90,4 % hommes) se repartissaient en 92,2 % CBNPC (49,6 % epidermoides, 45,4 % adenocarcinomes) et 7,8 % CPC. L’âge median au diagnostic etait de 74 ans, 14,6 % etaient non-fumeurs et 55,8 % des ex fumeurs. Au total, 67,9 % des patients avaient au moins une comorbidite, 1,6 % avaient un PS egal a 0 et 28,2 % un PS ≥ 2. L’etude du TNM retrouvait 9,2 % des cas aux stades I et II ; 31,2 % stade III et 59,7 % stade IV. Les resultats de la 1re ligne de chimiotherapie montraient : 36,6 % de RO, 22,6 % de stabilisation et 40,9 % de progression tumorale. La mediane de survie globale etait de 8,312 mois (6,947–9,678), le taux de survie a 1 an etait de 35,1 %. Une meilleure survie etait correlee au sexe feminin, a l’absence de tabagisme, a un PS ≤1 et au TNM. Conclusion Toutes les options therapeutiques standard du cancer bronchique peuvent etre discutees chez le sujet âge mais, le vieillissement physiologique et la frequence des comorbidites modifient le rapport benefice-risque des traitements, ce qui souligne la necessite de la mise en place d’une reelle strategie de prise en charge de cette frange de la societe.

Introduction En Algerie, les urgences hospitalieres constituent le pilier principal de la medecine de premier recours et le pavillon des urgences (PU) represente un important point d’accueil de ces urgences. Objectif de l’enquete Description des caracteristiques sociodemographiques, medicales et de prise en charge des patients consultants pour urgences respiratoires. Methodes Etude prospective incluant toute personne se presentant au PU pour symptomes respiratoires du 1 er novembre au 18 decembre 2014. Le recueil des donnees etait fait par les medecins du service de pneumologie lors de leur garde au PU, en utilisant un questionnaire comportant les motifs de recours, les caracteristiques des patients et de la pathologie et un descriptif de la prise en charge realisee au PU. Resultats Au total, 83 patients (52 hommes et 31 femmes) ont ete colliges. Le taux de recours le plus eleve concernait les plus de 70 ans. La plupart des patients se rendaient aux urgences dans la journee. Quarante-sept pour cent des patients avaient deja consulte au PU pour l’episode en cours a raison de 2,8 fois en moyenne et 18 patients etaient en exploration avec un delai moyen entre la derniere consultation et le recours aux urgences de 10 jours. Dans 30 % des cas, la situation qui amenait a consulter datait du jour meme mais dans 70 % des cas, elle remontait a plusieurs jours. La moitie des patients avaient au moins une comorbidite associee. Les motifs de consultation etaient par ordres de frequence, la dyspnee, la toux, la fievre et la douleur thoracique. Toute la population enquetee avait beneficie d’au moins un examen complementaire. Dans 43,3 % des cas, il s’agissait d’une consultation simple sans geste therapeutique associe et les traitements les plus prescrits a la sortie du patient etaient une antibiotherapie suivie des broncho-dilatateurs. Les diagnostics retenus a la fin de la prise en charge etaient domines par les infections respiratoires aigues suivi des exacerbations de BPCO. La majorite des patients rentraient chez eux apres leur passage aux urgences, mais 16 etaient hospitalises. La duree moyenne de sejour au PU etait de 2,3 jours. Conclusion La majorite des urgences recues au cours de la periode d’enquete n’etait pas considerees comme des urgences reelles (43,3 % de consultations et chez 70 % des patients le probleme medical remontait a plusieurs jours), cette situation tres frequente dans les centres d’urgence retarde la prise en charge des cas graves et genere un desordre et differents problemes pour l’equipe de garde.

Introduction Les carcinomes bronchiques primitifs chez l’adolescent sont rares. Contrairement aux localisations secondaires, ils ne representent que moins de 1 a 2 % de tous les cancers diagnostiques chez le patient de 15 a 19 ans [1] . Leur prise en charge est particulierement complexe, adaptee aux particularites affective, sociale et psychologique de l’adolescent. Methodes Nous rapportons 0 observation de tres jeunes patients atteints de cancer bronchique primitif colliges dans notre service de 2011 a 2016. Resultats Les trois patients, sans antecedent pathologique ni habitudes toxiques, etaient âges de 16, 17 et 20 ans. Le sex ratio H/F etait de 2/1, le mode revelateur etait principalement la toux chronique. Chez les trois patients, le tableau radio-clinique et l’aspect endoscopique etait evocateur d’un cancer dans un contexte de conservation de l’etat general. Les types histologiques retrouves etaient un adenocarcinome et deux muco-epidermoide. L’evolution a moyen terme a ete favorable pour les 3 patients. L’exerese de la tumeur, chez 2 patients (stade TNM I et II) avait permis une remission totale avec absence de recidive tumorale en cours d’evolution, patients vivants a ce jour (soit 7 et 121 mois apres le diagnostic). Pour le 3e cas (tumeur de stade IV), une chimiotherapie palliative a ete administree et la survie globale etait de 21 mois. Conclusion Le cancer broncho-pulmonaire chez l’adolescent est rare, son pronostic depend du type histologique et du stade d’extension de la maladie au moment du diagnostic. Sa prise en charge est particuliere, elle doit repondre aux problematiques specifiques de l’adolescence (scolarite ; prise en charge psychologique ; besoins sociaux ; preservation de la fertilite…).

Introduction En plus de son efficacite en premiere ligne dans le traitement du CBNPC avec mutation EGFR, l’erlotinib a aussi demontre un benefice de survie significatif en 2 e /3 e ligne therapeutique chez des patients non selectionnes. Objectif de l’etude Analyse de la tolerance et de l’efficacite de l’erlotinib en traitement de rattrapage dans des CBNPC a statut mutationnel EGFR inconnu. Methodes Etude retrospective portant sur tous les patients atteints d’un CBNPC suivi de 2008 a 2014 et ayant recu de l’erlotinib apres echec d’une premiere ligne de chimiotherapie (devant la non-disponibilite des moyens de recherche d’une mutation activatrice de l’EGFR, l’erlotinib ne pouvait etre administre qu’en deuxieme ou troisieme ligne). Resultats Vingt-trois cas etaient eligibles a recevoir l’erlotinib a 150 mg/j, 36 cas en 2 e intention (CBNPC non epidermoide, ayant progresse apres chimiotherapie de 1 re ligne a base de pemetrexed), et 47 cas en 3 e ligne (apres echec du docetaxel ou pour raison de toxicite). Chez les 83 patients (8 femmes non fumeuses et 75 hommes dont 54,4 % fumeurs actifs et 10,5 % non-fumeurs), l’âge median etait de 56 ans. Le PS etait egal a 2 dans 8,3 % des cas (PS = 1 : 70 % ; PS = 0 : 21,7 %), l’adenocarcinome etait majoritaire a 72 % contre 28 % d’epidermoide, les stades avances (IV : 55 % et III : 45 %). La duree du traitement etait en moyenne de 6 mois. Les effets secondaires rencontres etaient des diarrhees de grade I/II chez 25 % des patients, une toxicite cutanee chez 65 % des cas (dont 6 severes). Le taux de controle de la maladie etait de 51,6 % ; une amelioration clinique avec meilleure qualite de vie etait constatee chez 43,3 % des patients. La mediane de survie globale etait de 16,6 mois. Le taux de survie a 1 an etait de 69 % et a 2 ans de 31 %, aucune difference significative n’est retrouvee en fonction du sexe, de l’histologie et du tabagisme. Conclusion Dans le CBNPC, l’erlotinib constitue un traitement de choix en 2 e et 3 e ligne therapeutique du fait de son profil de tolerance et d’efficacite.

Introduction L’observation clinique quotidienne met en evidence une grande heterogeneite dans le devenir des patients atteints de CBNPC et la valeur pronostique potentielle de nombreux facteurs a ete rapportee dans une abondante litterature. Patients et methodes Le but de notre etude, menee de facon prospective, etait d’analyser le statut vital de tous les nouveaux cas de CBNPC diagnostiques entre janvier 2011 et juin 2013 et d’en rechercher les facteurs qui influencaient la survie. Resultats Chez les 180 patients colliges, le sex-ratio etait de 11,8 hommes pour une femme. L’âge median au diagnostic etait de 60 ans, 16,1 % etaient non-fumeurs et 47,8 % des patients avaient au moins une comorbidite. A l’entree de l’etude, tous les patients avaient un PS > 2, 29 patients (16,1 %) avaient un important amaigrissement, 67,8 % presentaient un examen clinique normal et 58,9 % des patients avaient au moins une anomalie au bilan biologique de routine. L’etude du TNM retrouvait 27,8 % des tumeurs au stade III et 62,8 % au stade IV. L’adenocarcinome etait le type histologique le plus frequent (72,8 %), suivi du carcinome epidermoide (25 %). La mediane de survie globale etait de 13,9 mois, le taux de survie a 1 an etait de 56,7 %. Les analyses uni variees ont montre l’influence pejorative sur la survie d’un amaigrissement de pres de 10 % au diagnostic, de l’existence d’une anomalie au bilan biologique initial (anemie, hyperleucocytose, hyponatremie, hypo-albuminemie et elevation du taux LDH), un stade TNM avance. En analyse multivariee deux variables ont ete associees, de maniere independante, avec une meilleure survie un amaigrissement inferieur a 10 % et l’absence d’anemie au bilan initial.

Fe 61 Co 21 Nb 3 B 15 powder mixture was prepared by mechanical alloying process in a high energy planetary ball mill. Structural and thermal changes of the milled powders were followed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Mossbauer spectrometry and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Both XRD and Mossbauer spectrometry results reveal the formation, after 48 h of milling, of a highly disordered amorphous-like structure where nanometer-sized iron borides were embedded. A mechanical recrystallisation process gives rise to the formation of α-Fe and α-FeCo nanograins on further milling. The occurrence of structural disorder in the milled powders might be confirmed by broad exothermic reaction in the DSC scans which consists of several overlapping exothermic peaks. Such behaviour originates from recovery, strain relaxation, grain growth and crystallisation.

X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) were used to investigate the phase identification and the thermal behaviour of the mechanically alloyed Fe57Co21Nb7B15 powders. The diffusion of B into the Nb lattice leads, after 1 h of milling, to the formation of a bcc Nb(B) solid solution with a lattice parameter close to a = 0.3425 nm. The solid state reaction between Fe and B gives rise to the formation of Fe23B6 and Fe2B boride phases after 3 and 6 h of milling, respectively. On further milling (96 h), an amorphous matrix (∼80%), where nanocrystalline bcc α-Fe, bcc Nb(B), Fe2B and Fe3B phases were embedded, is obtained. The broad exothermic reaction in the DSC scans consists of several exothermic peaks and spreads over the entire temperature range 100-700°C. The enthalpy release at temperatures below 300°C can be attributed to recovery and strain relaxation. Crystallisation and grain growth are the dominating processes at high temperatures.
