Abstract

This paper describes the architecture and implementation of the HERA-B framework for online calibration and alignment. At HERA-B the performance of all trigger levels, including the online reconstruction, strongly depends on using the appropriate calibration and alignment constants, which might change during data taking. A system to monitor, recompute and distribute those constants to online processes has been integrated in the data acquisition and trigger systems., Comment: Submitted to NIM A. 4 figures, 15 pages

Abstract

Free electron LASer in Hamburg (FLASH) at DESY is a user facility with laser-like radiation source in the VUV and soft X-ray range. It is also a pilot facility for the future XFEL. A fast data acquisition system (DAQ) to support the accelerator operation and the user experiments was developed. The system collects data from hundreds of ADC channels in the range of 1M up to 2G samples per second. In addition it allows collecting images from digital video cameras. All the data is collected in a shared memory of a central multiprocessor computer. Several processes are used to calculate e.g., the orbit, energy or photon flux, or are used as feedback loops to improve the stability of the linac. A long time archiving of the collected data from the accelerator and from the FEL experiments on a 24 TB disk and finally on a tape is provided. The whole system is integrated in the DOOCS control system of FLASH. It is a novel approach to combine a fast DAQ system with a accelerator control system. Abstract

The HERA-B experiment was dedicated for the measurement of charge conjugation space inversion (parity) (CP)-violation in decays of neutral B-mesons and for investigating the physics of charmed particles. One of the experimental requirements is a highly selective on-line filtering of data due to high interaction rates and a low signal-to-background ratio. This demands a hierarchical trigger and a high bandwidth data acquisition system. The challenge for the data acquisition (DAQ) system is a readout free of deadtime, which requires an unprecedented speed of storing and processing the data. In this paper, we will outline the general architecture and hardware implementation of the HERA-B DAQ. 9th International Particle Accelerator Conference, IPAC 2018, Vancouver, Canada, 29 Apr 2018 - 4 May 2018, The FLASHForward project at DESY is an innovative beam-driven plasma-wakefield acceleration experi-ment integrated in the FLASH facility, aiming to accelerate electron beams to GeV energies over a few centi-metres of ionised gas. These accelerated beams are tested for their capability to demonstrate exponential free-electron laser gain; achievable only through rigorous analysis of both the driver and witness beam's phase space.The thematic priority covered in here the control system part of FLASHForward.To be able to control, read out and save data from the diagnostics into DAQ, the DOOCS control system has been integrated into FLASH Forward. Laser beam control, over 70 cameras, ADCs, timing system and mo-torised stages are combined into the one DOOCS control system as well as vacuum and magnet controls. Micro TCA for Physics (MTCA.4) is the solid basic computing system, supported from high power worksta-tions for camera read-out and normal Linux computers.

Abstract

Extreme-ultraviolet to x-ray free-electron lasers (FELs) in operation for scientific applications are up to now single-user facilities. While most FELs generate around 100 photon pulses per second, FLASH at DESY can deliver almost two orders of magnitude more pulses in this time span due to its superconducting accelerator technology. This makes the facility a prime candidate to realize the next step in FELs—dividing the electron pulse trains into several FEL lines and delivering photon pulses to several users at the same time. Hence, FLASH has been extended with a second undulator line and self-amplified spontaneous emission (SASE) is demonstrated in both FELs simultaneously. FLASH can now deliverMHzpulse trains to two user experiments in parallel with individually selected photon beam characteristics. First results of the capabilities of this extension are shown with emphasis on independent variation of wavelength, repetition rate, and photon pulse length.

В статье анализируется проблема экономической безопасности России в связи с введением эмбарго в ответ на ряд ограничений и запретов со стороны стран ЕС и США. Разбор опыта политики импортозамещения в зарубежных странах, положительные и отрицательные тенденции. The article analyzes the problem of the economic security of Russia in connection with the introduction of the embargo in response to the imposed sanctions. В статье рассматриваются проблемы обеспечения экономической безопасности на региональном уровне, особое место отводится бюджетной и налоговой системе РФ, движению капитала, валютному регулированию и инвестиционной политике на государственном уровне как основным проблемам в сфере не только экономической безопасности страны, в целом и регионов в частности, но и национальному вектору развития. The problems of economic security at the regional level, special emphasis on fiscal and tax system of the Russian Federation, as well as the movement of capital, foreign exchange regulation and investment policy at the state level, as the main problems with the field, not only the economic security of the country as a whole and in the regions particular, but also national development vector.
