Abstract

Disjointly strictly singular inclusions between variable Lebesgue spaces $L^{p(\cdot)}(\mu)$ on finite measure are characterized. Suitable criteria in terms of the (bounded or unbounded) exponents are given. It is proved the equivalence of $L$-weak compactness (also called almost compactness) and disjoint strict singularity for variable Lebesgue space inclusions. For infinite measure any inclusion $L^{p(\cdot)}(\mu) \hookrightarrow L^{q(\cdot)}(\mu)$ is not disjointly strictly singular. No restrictions on the exponent are imposed.

Abstract

The first part of this paper surveys several results on the lattice structure of variable exponent Lebesgue function spaces (or Nakano spaces) $\lpv$. In the second part strictly singular and disjointly strictly singular operators between spaces $\lpv$ are studied. New results on the disjoint strict singularity of the inclusions $ L^{p(\cdot)}(\Omega) \hookrightarrow L^{q(\cdot)}(\Omega)$ are given.

Abstract

Background Thoracoscopic repair of esophageal atresia (EA) with tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF) is becoming an increasingly widespread technique; there is still controversy about its indication in certain patients. Our objective is to analyze if potential risk factors such as major congenital heart disease (CHD) or low birth weight (LBW) are a limitation to this approach. Methods Retrospective study (2017–2021) of patients with EA and distal TEF who underwent thoracoscopic repair were included. Patients with LBW less than 2,000 g or major CHD were compared with the rest. Results Twenty-five patients underwent thoracoscopic surgery. Nine patients (36%) had major CHD. Five of them (20%) were LBW less than 2,000 g, and only 8% (2/25) presented both risk factors. There were no differences in terms of operative time, conversion rate, tolerance evaluated with gasometric parameters (pO2 , pCO2 , pH) or complications (anastomotic leak and stricture, both early or during follow-up) in patients with major CHD and LBW (1,473 ± 319 vs. 2,664 ± 402 g). One conversion to thoracotomy was performed in a neonate weighing 1,050 g due to anesthetic intolerance. There was no recurrence of TEF. One patient died at the age of 9 months, due to major uncorrectable heart disease. Conclusion Thoracoscopic repair of EA/TEF is feasible technique in patients with CHD or LBW, with similar results to other patients. Abstract

In this paper, we study the existence of infinite dimensional closed linear subspaces of a rearrangement invariant space on [0,1] every nonzero element of which does not belong to any included rearrangement invariant space of the same class such that the inclusion operator is disjointly strictly singular. We consider Lorentz, Marcinkiewicz and Orlicz spaces. The answer is affirmative for Marcinkiewicz spaces and negative for Lorentz and Orlicz spaces. We give two weak compactness Andô type criteria in variable exponent Lebesgue spaces Lp(·) (Ω) on infinite measures. This extends some results of [13] given in the case of finite measures. Abstract

In this contribution we report on the synthesis and characterization of NIR-I luminescent silica nanoparticles doped with the chiral luminescent (CrN6)-N-III complex [Cr(dqp)(2)](3+) (dqp = 2,6-di(quinolin-8-yl)pyridine), Cr@SiO(2)NPs, as well as on their post-functionalization with the highly luminescent Eu(tta)(3)(phen-Si) (tta = 2-Thenoyltrifluoroacetonate; phen-Si = phenanthroline silica precursor), EuCr@SiO(2)NPs. These hybrid materials were prepared via reverse micelle techniques. Electronic microscopy analyses determined an average particle size of 94 nm with the Cr complex randomly distributed into the silica matrix. The EuCr@SiO(2)NPs material displays the characteristic ruby-like emission arising from the metal-centered spin-flip transitions within the 730-750 nm range (13 500-12 700 cm(-1)) together with the Eu-centered D-5(0 )-> F-7(J) (J = 0-4) transitions in the red region of the electromagnetic spectrum. CPL measurements showed two mirror-image polarized bands ascribed to the Cr(E-2 -> (4)A(2)) and Cr(T-2(1) -> (4)A(2)) with dissymetry factor (g(lum)) in the range of 0.1-0.2. The encapsulated Cr-III complex showed larger quantum yield (4%) and longer excited state lifetime (336-1500 mu s) compared to the non-encapsulated complex, providing an enhanced CPL brightness of 80 M-1 cm(-1) in aerated media. Abstract

La enseñanza de las ciencias sociales en el siglo XXI, demanda establecer nuevos criterios curriculares entre los cuales deben considerarse las concepciones de organizar el currículo por competencias y capacidades. Por otro lado, también se deben establecer criterios temáticos a considerarse para un adecuado aprendizaje de las ciencias sociales, partiendo de un proceso de actualización científica de los conocimientos. Los criterios didácticos que deberán considerarse para un proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de las ciencias sociales en el Perú del siglo XXI, adecuado a los tiempos y con criterios de trabajo colaborativo y cooperativo.
