Graphene has attracted much attention at various research fields due to its unique optical, electronic and mechanical properties. Up to now, graphene has not been widely used in optoelectronic fields due to the lack of large-area uniform doped graphene (n-doped and p-doped) with smooth surface. Therefore, it is rather desired to develop some effective doping methods to extend graphene to optoelectronics. Here we developed a novel doping method to prepare large-area (> centimeter scale) uniform doped graphene film with a nanoscale roughness(RMS roughness ∼1.4 nm), the method (nano-metal film doping method) is simple but effective. Using this method electron doping (electron-injection) may be easily realized by the simple thermal deposition of Ag nano-film on a transferred CVD graphene. The doping effectiveness has been proved by Raman spectroscopy and spectroscopic ellipsometry. Importantly, our method sheds light on some potential applications of graphene in optoelectronic devices such as photodetectors, LEDs, phototransistors, solar cells, lasers etc.

Abstract Background Skeletal muscles are vital for daily function, yet assessing their injuries remain challenging. We aimed to elucidate the effectiveness of 68Ga-FAPI-04 in evaluating skeletal muscle remodeling. Results C2C12 cells were subjected to graded H2O2 stimulation in vitro, revealing an initial rise and subsequent decline in fibroblast activation protein (FAP) expression as H2O2 concentration increased. In vivo, a murine triceps surae injury model was created using various solutions to simulate normal repair, mild repair failure, and severe repair failure. Assessments were conducted on days 1, 3, 7, and 14 using PET, MRI, and ultrasound. With 68Ga-FAPI-04, the normal and mild repair failure groups showed significantly higher SUVmax and T/B ratios on day 1 compared to the severe repair failure group. These values gradually decreased in the normal repair group, becoming negligible after day 7. MRI results for the normal repair group showed low to moderate signal intensity by day 7. A clinical study retrospectively evaluated post-hip arthroplasty patient images at intervals of 1 month, 2–3 months, 5–6 months, and over 7 months. In these patients, 18F-FDG SUVmax and volume remained relatively stable over time, while 68Ga-FAPI-04 SUVmax initially increased, then decreased, with a consistent reduction in volume. Conclusion In skeletal muscle injuries, FAP demonstrates a distinctive mechanism of action, and 68Ga-FAPI-04, in comparison to other tests, more precisely captures alterations in lesion site uptake intensity and volume. This case report describes a 62-year-old male with a notable medical history, including surgically treated bladder cancer and the suspicion of metastatic disease. He underwent 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging as part of the initial diagnostic workup, which identified several marginally hypodense hepatic lesions. These lesions exhibited metabolic activity that was slightly lower than the surrounding hepatic parenchyma, raising concerns for metastatic involvement. Subsequent 18F-DOTATATE PET/CT imaging significantly expanded the diagnostic perspective by identifying multiple somatostatin receptor (SSTR)-positive lesions, not only in the liver but also in lymph nodes and bones. This marked an important diagnostic advancement over the initial FDG PET/CT findings, showcasing the superior sensitivity of 18F-DOTATATE PET/CT in detecting SSTR-expressing tumors. Pathological evaluation after these imaging studies confirmed the diagnosis of a rectal neuroendocrine tumor (NET) with extensive hepatic metastasis, altering the clinical management and therapeutic approach for the patient. This case underscores the pivotal role of integrating 18F-DOTATATE and FDG PET/CT in the diagnostic and therapeutic management of neuroendocrine tumors, highlighting the complementary nature of these imaging modalities. The findings advocate for the use of 18F-DOTATATE PET/CT in cases where NETs are suspected, particularly for its enhanced sensitivity in detecting SSTR-positive lesions across various sites, thereby facilitating a more comprehensive disease assessment and informed therapeutic planning.

Abstract Background To investigate the value of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) semi-quantitative parameters, including the lesion diameter, maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax), maximum standardized uptake value corrected for lean body mass (SULmax), metabolic lesion volume (MLV), and total lesion glycolysis (TLG), for classifying hepatic echinococcosis. Methods In total, 20 patients with 36 hepatic echinococcosis lesions were included in the study. Overall, these lesions were categorized as hepatic cystic echinococcosis (HCE) or hepatic alveolar echinococcosis (HAE) according to the pathological results. Multiple semi-parameters including the maximum diameter, SUVmax, SULmax, MLV, and TLG were measured to classify HCE and HAE compared with the pathological results. The receiver operator characteristic curve and area under the curve (AUC) of each quantitative parameter were calculated. The Mann–Whitney U test was used to compare data between the two groups. Results In total, 12 cystic lesions and 24 alveolar lesions were identified after surgery. There were significant differences in SUV max, SUL max, MLV, and TLG between the HAE and HCE groups (Z = − 4.70, − 4.77, − 3.36, and − 4.23, respectively, all P 0.05). The best cutoffs of SUV max, SUL max, MLV, and TLG for the differential diagnosis of HAE and HCE were 2.09, 2.67, 27.12, and 18.79, respectively. The AUCs of the four parameters were 0.99, 0.99, 0.85, and 0.94, respectively. The sensitivities were 91.7%, 87.5%, 66.7%, and 85.6%, respectively, and the specificities were 90.1%, 91.7%, 83.3%, and 90.9%, respectively. Conclusion 18F-FDG PET/CT semi-quantitative parameters had significant clinical value in the diagnosis and pathological classification of hepatic echinococcosis and evaluation of clinical treatment.

Abstract Tuberculosis (TB) stands as the second most fatal infectious disease after COVID‐19, the effective treatment of which depends on accurate diagnosis and phenotyping. Metabolomics provides valuable insights into the identification of differential metabolites for disease diagnosis and phenotyping. However, TB diagnosis and phenotyping remain great challenges due to the lack of a satisfactory metabolic approach. Here, a metabolomics‐based diagnostic method for rapid TB detection is reported. Serum metabolic fingerprints are examined via an automated nanoparticle‐enhanced laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry platform outstanding by its rapid detection speed (measured in seconds), minimal sample consumption (in nanoliters), and cost‐effectiveness (approximately $3). A panel of 14 m z−1 features is identified as biomarkers for TB diagnosis and a panel of 4 m z−1 features for TB phenotyping. Based on the acquired biomarkers, TB metabolic models are constructed through advanced machine learning algorithms. The robust metabolic model yields a 97.8% (95% confidence interval (CI), 0.964‐0.986) area under the curve (AUC) in TB diagnosis and an 85.7% (95% CI, 0.806‐0.891) AUC in phenotyping. In this study, serum metabolic biomarker panels are revealed and develop an accurate metabolic tool with desirable diagnostic performance for TB diagnosis and phenotyping, which may expedite the effective implementation of the end‐TB strategy.

Abstract Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a substantial pathology of the urinary system with a growing prevalence rate. However, current clinical methods have limitations for managing RCC due to the heterogeneity manifestations of the disease. Metabolic analyses are regarded as a preferred noninvasive approach in clinics, which can substantially benefit the characterization of RCC. This study constructs a nanoparticle‐enhanced laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry (NELDI MS) to analyze metabolic fingerprints of renal tumors (n = 456) and healthy controls (n = 200). The classification models yielded the areas under curves (AUC) of 0.938 (95% confidence interval (CI), 0.884–0.967) for distinguishing renal tumors from healthy controls, 0.850 for differentiating malignant from benign tumors (95% CI, 0.821–0.915), and 0.925–0.932 for classifying subtypes of RCC (95% CI, 0.821–0.915). For the early stage of RCC subtypes, the averaged diagnostic sensitivity of 90.5% and specificity of 91.3% in the test set is achieved. Abstract Background Immunotherapy or apatinib alone has been used as third-line adjuvant therapy for advanced or metastatic gastric/gastroesophageal junction (G/GEJ) tumors, but the efficacy of combining them with each other for the treatment of patients with advanced or metastatic G/GEJ is unknown; therefore, we further evaluated the efficacy and safety of immunotherapy combined with apatinib in patients with advanced or metastatic G/GEJ. Methods The main search was conducted on published databases: Embase, Cochrane library, PubMed.The search was conducted from the establishment of the database to December 2023.Clinical trials with patients with advanced or metastatic G/GEJ and immunotherapy combined with apatinib as the study variable were collected. Review Manager 5.4 software as well as stata 15.0 software were used for meta-analysis. Results A total of 651 patients from 19 articles were included in this meta-analysis. In the included studies, immunotherapy combined with apatinib had a complete response (CR) of 0.03 (95% CI: 0.00 -0.06), partial response (PR) of 0.34 (95% CI: 0.19–0.49), stable disease (SD) of 0.43 (95% CI: 0.32–0.55), objective response rate (ORR) was 0.36 (95% CI: 0.23–0.48), disease control rate (DCR) was 0.80 (95% CI: 0.74–0.86), and median progression-free survival (PFS) was 4.29 (95% CI: 4.05–4.52), median Overall survival (OS) was 8.79 (95% CI: 7.92–9.66), and the incidence of grade ≥ 3 TRAEs was 0.34 (95% CI: 0:19-0.49). PR, ORR, DCR, median PFS and median OS were significantly higher in the immunotherapy and apatinib combination chemotherapy group (IAC) than in the immunotherapy combination apatinib group (IA). And the difference was not significant in the incidence of SD and grade ≥ 3 TRAEs. Conclusion This meta-analysis shows that immunotherapy combined with apatinib is safe and effective in the treatment of advanced or metastatic G/GEJ, where IAC can be a recommended adjuvant treatment option for patients with advanced or metastatic G/GEJ. However, more large multicenter randomized studies are urgently needed to reveal the long-term outcomes of immunotherapy combined with apatinib treatment.

Abstract To investigate the hypolipidemic and modulation effects of probiotics, the golden hamster of hyperlipidemia model was established and intervened with Lactobacillus fermentum GLF‐217 (GLF‐217) and lovastatin (LOV) for 6 weeks. Body weight and serum biochemical indexes were measured, and liver, colonic contents, and feces were collected after autopsy for pathological and gut microbiota analysis. The results showed that the intervention of GLF‐217 and LOV could significantly reduce serum lipid levels and liver fat accumulation in golden hamsters on a high‐fat diet, more importantly, the LOV intervention could cause damage to the liver. The LOV intervention significantly reduced the contents of short‐chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in the colonic and downregulated the abundance of SCFAs‐producing bacteria, but GLF‐217 intake increased butyric acid, thus reducing blood lipids and protected the liver. This study elucidates the possible mechanism of the hypolipidemic effect of probiotics in terms of regulating gut microbiota.

Abstract Endometrial cancer (EC) stands as the most prevalent gynecological tumor in women worldwide. Notably, differentiation diagnosis of abnormity detected by ultrasound findings (e.g., thickened endometrium or mass in the uterine cavity) is essential and remains challenging in clinical practice. Herein, we identified a metabolic biomarker panel for differentiation diagnosis of EC using machine learning of high-performance serum metabolic fingerprints (SMFs) and validated the biological function. We first recorded the high-performance SMFs of 191 EC and 204 Non-EC subjects via particle-enhanced laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (PELDI-MS). Abstract Background As a gold-standard quantitative technique based on mass spectrometry, multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) has been widely used in proteomics and metabolomics. In the analysis of MRM data, as no peak picking algorithm can achieve perfect accuracy, manual inspection is necessary to correct the errors. In large cohort analysis scenarios, the time required for manual inspection is often considerable. Apart from the commercial software that comes with mass spectrometers, the open-source and free software Skyline is the most popular software for quantitative omics. However, this software is not optimized for manual inspection of hundreds of samples, the interactive experience also needs to be improved. Results Here we introduce MRMPro, a web-based MRM data analysis platform for efficient manual inspection. MRMPro supports data analysis of MRM and schedule MRM data acquired by mass spectrometers of mainstream vendors. With the goal of improving the speed of manual inspection, we implemented a collaborative review system based on cloud architecture, allowing multiple users to review through browsers. To reduce bandwidth usage and improve data retrieval speed, we proposed a MRM data compression algorithm, which reduced data volume by more than 60% and 80% respectively compared to vendor and mzML format. To improve the efficiency of manual inspection, we proposed a retention time drift estimation algorithm based on similarity of chromatograms. The estimated retention time drifts were then used for peak alignment and automatic EIC grouping. Compared with Skyline, MRMPro has higher quantification accuracy and better manual inspection support. Conclusions In this study, we proposed MRMPro to improve the usability of manual calibration for MRM data analysis. MRMPro is free for non-commercial use. Researchers can access MRMPro through http://mrmpro.csibio.com/ . All major mass spectrometry formats (wiff, raw, mzML, etc.) can be analyzed on the platform. The final identification results can be exported to a common.xlsx format for subsequent analysis.

Abstract Background Plate design is a necessary and time-consuming operation for GC/LC-MS-based sample preparation. The implementation of the inter-batch balancing algorithm and the intra-batch randomization algorithm can have a significant impact on the final results. For researchers without programming skills, a stable and efficient online service for plate design is necessary. Results Here we describe InjectionDesign, a free online plate design service focused on GC/LC-MS-based multi-omics experiment design. It offers the ability to separate the position design from the sequence design, making the output more compatible with the requirements of a modern mass spectrometer-based laboratory. In addition, it has implemented an optimized block randomization algorithm, which can be better applied to sample stratification with block randomization for an unbalanced distribution. It is easy to use, with built-in support for common instrument models and quick export to a worksheet. Conclusions InjectionDesign is an open-source project based on Java. Precise healing of wounds in the oral and maxillofacial regions is usually achieved by targeting the entire healing process. The rich blood circulation in the oral and maxillofacial regions promotes the rapid healing of wounds through the action of various growth factors. Correspondingly, their tissue engineering can aid in preventing wound infections, accelerate angiogenesis, and enhance the proliferation and migration of tissue cells during wound healing. Recent years, have witnessed an increase in the number of researchers focusing on tissue engineering, particularly for precise wound healing. In this context, hydrogels, which possess a soft viscoelastic nature and demonstrate exceptional biocompatibility and biodegradability, have emerged as the current research hotspot. Additionally, nanofibers, films, and foam sponges have been explored as some of the most viable materials for wound healing, with noted advantages and drawbacks. Accordingly, future research is highly likely to explore the application of these materials harboring enhanced mechanical properties, reduced susceptibility to external mechanical disturbances, and commendable water absorption and non-expansion attributes, for superior wound healing.

Abstract Therapeutic cancer vaccines fail to produce satisfactory outcomes against solid tumors since vaccine‐induced anti‐tumor immunity is significantly hampered by immunosuppression. Generating an in situ cancer vaccine targeting immunological cold tumor microenvironment (TME) appears attractive. Here, a type of free‐field based whole‐body ultrasound (US)‐driven nanovaccines are constructed, named G5‐CHC‐R, by conjugating the sonosensitizer, Chenghai chlorin (CHC) and the immunomodulator, resiquimod (R848) on top of a super small‐sized dendrimeric nanoscaffold. Once entering tumors, R848 can be cleaved from a hypoxia‐sensitive linker, thus modifying the TME via converting macrophage phenotypes. The animals bearing orthotopic pancreatic cancer with intestinal metastasis and breast cancer with lung metastasis are treated with G5‐CHC‐R under a free‐field based whole‐body US system. Benefit from the deep penetration capacity and highly spatiotemporal selectiveness, G5‐CHC‐R triggered by US represented a superior alternative for noninvasive irradiation of deep‐seated tumors and magnification of local immune responses via driving mass release of tumor antigens and “cold‐warm‐hot” three‐state transformation of TME. In addition to irradiating primary tumors, a robust adaptive anti‐tumor immunity is potentiated, leading to successful induction of systemic tumor suppression. The sono‐nanovaccines with good biocompatibility posed wide applicability to a broad spectrum of tumors, revealing immeasurable potential for translational research in oncology.

Paederia foetida L. leaf (PFL) is recognized for its uric acid-lowering. However, the key compounds and their mechanisms of countering hyperuricemia remain unclear. In this study, bioaffinity ultrafiltration in combination with UPLC-ESI-QTrap-MS/MS was used to screen and identify potential xanthine oxidase (XO) inhibitors in the purified PFL extract, and the possible mechanisms of their interaction were investigated by molecular docking. The experimental results showed that the purified PFL extract exhibited excellent antioxidant and anti-XO effect. Further the results of enzyme inhibition experiments in vitro showed that luteolin-7-O-glucoside (IC50 = 61.41 μg/mL), astragalin (IC50 = 114.89 μg/mL), quercitrin (IC50 = 124.50 μg/mL), dihydromyricetin (IC50 = 296.32 μg/mL), cyanidin-3-O-rutinoside (IC50 = 373.82 μg/mL), kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside (IC50 = 450.10 μg/mL) and (-)-epigallocatechin (IC50 = 610.48 μg/mL) in purified PFL extract were the major contributors to the XO inhibitory activity, and confirmed this finding. Molecular docking revealed these inhibitors interact with critical XO residues through hydrogen bonding, hydrophobic, and electrostatic interactions, highlighting flavonoids in purified PFL extract as potent XO inhibitors. This work provides insight into flavonoids in the purified PFL extract as potent XO inhibitors.

Abstract Background Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry is widely used in untargeted metabolomics for composition profiling. In multi-run analysis scenarios, features of each run are aligned into consensus features by feature alignment algorithms to observe the intensity variations across runs. However, most of the existing feature alignment methods focus more on accurate retention time correction, while underestimating the importance of feature matching. None of the existing methods can comprehensively consider feature correspondences among all runs and achieve optimal matching. Results To comprehensively analyze feature correspondences among runs, we propose G-Aligner, a graph-based feature alignment method for untargeted LC–MS data. In the feature matching stage, G-Aligner treats features and potential correspondences as nodes and edges in a multipartite graph, considers the multi-run feature matching problem an unbalanced multidimensional assignment problem, and provides three combinatorial optimization algorithms to find optimal matching solutions. In comparison with the feature alignment methods in OpenMS, MZmine2 and XCMS on three public metabolomics benchmark datasets, G-Aligner achieved the best feature alignment performance on all the three datasets with up to 9.8% and 26.6% increase in accurately aligned features and analytes, and helped all comparison software obtain more accurate results on their self-extracted features by integrating G-Aligner to their analysis workflow. G-Aligner comprehensively considered potential feature correspondences between all runs, converting the feature matching problem as a multidimensional assignment problem (MAP). In evaluations on three public metabolomics benchmark datasets, G-Aligner achieved the highest alignment accuracy on manual annotated and popular software extracted features, proving the effectiveness and robustness of the algorithm.

With the continuous improvement of biological detection technology, the scale of biological data is also increasing, which overloads the central-computing server. The use of edge computing in 5G networks can provide higher processing performance for large biological data analysis, reduce bandwidth consumption and improve data security. Appropriate data compression and reading strategy becomes the key technology to implement edge computing. We introduce the column storage strategy into mass spectrum data so that part of the analysis scenario can be completed by edge computing. Data produced by mass spectrometry is a typical biological big data based. A blood sample analysed by mass spectrometry can produce a 10 gigabytes digital file. By introducing the column storage strategy and combining the related prior knowledge of mass spectrometry, the structure of the mass spectrum data is reorganized, and the result file is effectively compressed. Data can be processed immediately near the scientific instrument, reducing the bandwidth requirements and the pressure of the central server. Here, we present Aird-Slice, a mass spectrum data format using the column storage strategy. Aird-Slice reduces volume by 48% compared to vendor files and speeds up the critical computational step of ion chromatography extraction by an average of 116 times over the test dataset. Aird-Slice provides the ability to analyze biological data using an edge computing architecture on 5G networks.

This article presents a coordinated control method used for wireless power transfer (WPT) systems. This method can improve WPT system transmission efficiency while maintaining the constant output voltage. First, the topology of the DC–DC converter is selected and the equivalent circuit model of the WPT system is established. Then, the WPT system characteristics are discussed and the mutual inductance estimation process is presented. Furthermore, the coordinated control method is proposed, where the constant voltage output is achieved by connecting the Buck–Boost converter after the diode rectifier. Meanwhile, the optimal phase shift angle is calculated and sent to the controller to achieve maximum transmission efficiency tracking control, according to the measured load voltage and current. Finally, simulations and experiments are adopted to verify the proposed coordinated control method. The experimental results indicate that the average system transmission efficiency is increased by 1.80% and the efficiency fluctuation is decreased by 2.67% when the system load resistance varies, while the average system transmission efficiency is increased by 1.80%, and the efficiency fluctuation is decreased by 3.14% when the mutual inductance changes. This means the proposed coordinated control method is effective under the conditions of the WPT load and mutual inductance variations.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is an irreversible and difficult-to-treat neurodegenerative disease. It is necessary to search for reliable biomarkers for the early diagnosis of AD in a timely and effective manner in high-risk or preclinical AD populations. Studies have shown that neurogenic exosomes in the blood can be effectively used as biomarkers for AD. Objective: In this meta-analysis, we aimed to find reliable biomarkers (Aβ42, T-tau, and P-tau181 in peripheral blood neurogenic exosomes) for the early diagnosis of AD to provide theoretical support for the early diagnosis of high-risk or preclinical AD populations. Methods: By searching the literature database, relevant studies on AD diagnostic markers were collected. The study period was from April 1, 2012, to April 1, 2022. The average concentrations of Aβ42, T-tau, and P-tau181 in the exosomes of the AD group and healthy control group were compared using RevMan 5.3 software. ObjectiveSpinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3), also known as Machado-Joseph disease (MJD), is a rare neurodegenerative disease for which there is no specific treatment. Very few cases have been treated with single-target deep brain stimulation (DBS), and the results were not satisfactory. We applied multi-target DBS to an SCA3/MJD patient and performed positron emission computed tomography (PET) before and after DBS to explore the short-term clinical therapeutic effect.Materials and methodsA 26-year-old right-hand-dominant female with a family history of SCA3/MJD suffered from cerebellar ataxia and dystonia. Genetic testing indicated an expanded CAG trinucleotide repeat in the ATXN3 gene and a diagnosis of SCA3/MJD. Conservative treatment had no obvious effect; therefore, leads were implanted in the bilateral dentate nucleus (DN) and the globus pallidus internus (GPi) and connected to an external stimulation device. The treatment effect was evaluated in a double-blind, randomized protocol in five phases (over a total of 15 days): no stimulation, GPi, DN, or sham stimulation, and combined GPi and DN stimulation. 18F-fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose and dopamine transporter PET, Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia, Fahn-Tolosa-Marin Clinical Rating Scale for Tremor (FTM), Burke-Fahn-Marsden Dystonia Rating Scale (BFMDRS), and SF-36 quality of life scores were compared before and after DBS.ResultsThe Total Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia scores improved by ~42% (from 24 to 14). The BFMDRS movement scores improved by ~30% (from 40.5 to 28.5). The BFMDRS disability scores improved by ~12.5% (from 16 to 14). Daily living activities were not noticeably improved. Compared with the findings in pre-DBS imaging, 18F-fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose uptake increased in the cerebellum, while according to dopamine transporter imaging, there were no significant differences in the bilateral caudate nucleus and putamen.ConclusionMulti-target acute stimulation (DN DBS and GPi DBS) in SCA3/MJD can mildly improve cerebellar ataxia and dystonia and increase cerebellar metabolism.

The target recognition performance of steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP)-based brain-computer interfaces can be significantly improved with a training-based approach. However, the training procedure is time consuming and often causes fatigue. Consequently, the number of training data should be limited, which may reduce the classification performance. Thus, how to improve classification accuracy without increasing the training time is crucial to SSVEP-based BCI system. This study proposes a transfer-related component analysis (TransRCA) method for addressing the above issue. In this method, the SSVEP-related components are extracted from a small number of training data of the current individual and combined with those extracted from a large number of existing training data of other individuals. The TransRCA method maximizes not only the inter-trial covariances between the source and target subjects, but also the correlation between the reference signals and SSVEP signals from the source and target subjects. The proposed method was validated on the SSVEP public Benchmark and BETA datasets, and the classification accuracy and information transmission rate of the ensemble version of the proposed TransRCA method were compared with those of the state-of-the-art eCCA, eTRCA, ttCCA, LSTeTRCA, and eIISMC methods on both datasets. The comparison results indicate that the proposed method provides a superior performance compared with these state-of-the-art methods, and thus has high potential for the development of a SSVEP-based brain-computer interface system with high classification performance that only uses a small number of training data.

Background: To investigate the effect of rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone (R-CHOP) chemotherapy on brain glucose metabolism in patients with diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Methods: Seventy-two patients with newly diagnosed DLBCL underwent FDG PET/CT brain and whole-body scans at baseline (PET0), in the interim of chemotherapy (PET2), and at the end (PET6) of chemotherapy. All three brain scans of each patient were analyzed using statistical parametric mapping software. Results: Compared with the PET0 scan, the PET2 and PET6 scans revealed a significantly higher glucose metabolism throughout the whole brain, with the PET6 scan revealing a higher metabolism than the PET2 scan. Patients with a complete response (CR) displayed decreased glucose metabolism in the lingual gyrus and increased glucose metabolism in the pons after chemotherapy compared with the findings in patients with partial responses or progressive disease. Conclusions: Brain glucose metabolism was affected by R-CHOP treatment throughout the entire chemotherapy protocol.

Abstract Multivariate time series are widely used in industrial equipment monitoring and maintenance, health monitoring, weather forecasting and other fields. Due to abnormal sensors, equipment failures, environmental interference and human errors, the collected multivariate time series usually have certain missing values. Missing values imply the regularity of data, and seriously affect the further analysis and application of multivariate time series. Conventional imputation methods such as statistical imputation and machine learning-based imputation cannot learn the latent relationships of data and are difficult to use for missing values imputation in multivariate time series. This paper proposes a novel Time and Location Gated Recurrent Unit (TLGRU), which takes into account the non-fixed time intervals and location intervals in multivariate time series and effectively deals with missing values. We made necessary modifications to the architecture of the end-to-end imputation model $${E}^{2}$$ E 2 GAN and replaced Gated Recurrent Unit for Imputation (GRUI) with TLGRU to make the generated fake sample closer to the original sample. Experiments on a public meteorologic dataset show that our method outperforms the baselines on the imputation accuracy and achieves a new state-of-the-art result.

PurposeTo investigate the diagnostic value of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (18F-FDG PET), as an imaging biomarker, for predicting pathological response and prognosis of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients treated with Lenvatinib and programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitors as a conversion therapy.MethodsA total of 28 unresectable HCC patients with BCLC stage B or C were treated with Lenvatinib and PD-1 inhibitors before surgery. The 18F-FDG PET/CT scans were acquired before pre- (scan-1) and post-conversion therapy (scan-2). The maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax), TLR (tumor-to-normal liver standardized uptake value ratio), and the percentages of post-treatment changes in metabolic parameters (ΔSUVmax [%] and ΔTLR [%]) were calculated. Major pathological response (MPR) was identified based on the residual viable tumor in the resected primary tumor specimen (≤10%). We report a rare case of spindle cell rhabdomyosarcoma. Sarcomas generally exhibit an abnormal increased FDG uptake on 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging, while spindle cell rhabdosarcomas exhibits a significantly increased lesion uptake on 68Ga FAPI PET/CT imaging compared to 18F-FDG. This case suggests that 68Ga-FAPI PET/CT has potential value in evaluating spindle cell rhabdomyosarcoma.

Camera devices are being deployed everywhere. Cities, enterprises, and more and more smart homes are using camera devices. Fine-grained identification of devices brings an in-depth understanding of the characteristics of these devices. Identifying the device type helps secure the device safe. But, existing device identification methods have difficulty in distinguishing fine-grained types of devices. To address this challenge, we propose a fine-grained identification method based on the camera deviceso inherent features. First, feature selection is based on the coverage and differences of the inherent features type. Second, the features are classified according to their representation. A design feature similarity calculation strategy (FSCS) for each type of feature is established. Then the feature weights are determined based on feature entropy. Finally, we present a device similarity model based on the FSCS and feature weights. And we use this model to identify the fine-grained type of a target device. We have evaluated our method on Dahua and Hikvision camera devices. The experimental results show that we can identify the deviceos fine-grained type when some inherent feature values are missing. Even when the inherent feature pmissing rateq is 50%, the average accuracy still exceeds 80%.

Abstract Background With the precision of the mass spectrometry (MS) going higher, the MS file size increases rapidly. Beyond the widely-used open format mzML, near-lossless or lossless compression algorithms and formats emerged in scenarios with different precision requirements. The data precision is often related to the instrument and subsequent processing algorithms. Unlike storage-oriented formats, which focus more on lossless compression rate, computation-oriented formats concentrate as much on decoding speed as the compression rate. Results Here we introduce “Aird”, an opensource and computation-oriented format with controllable precision, flexible indexing strategies, and high compression rate. Aird provides a novel compressor called Zlib-Diff-PforDelta (ZDPD) for m/z data. Compared with Zlib only, m/z data size is about 55% lower in Aird average. With the high-speed decoding and encoding performance of the single instruction multiple data technology used in the ZDPD, Aird merely takes 33% decoding time compared with Zlib. We have downloaded seven datasets from ProteomeXchange and Metabolights. They are from different SCIEX, Thermo, and Agilent instruments. Then we convert the raw data into mzML, mgf, and mz5 file formats by MSConvert and compare them with Aird format. Aird uses JavaScript Object Notation for metadata storage. Aird-SDK is written in Java, and AirdPro is a GUI client for vendor file converting written in C#. They are freely available at https://github.com/CSi-Studio/Aird-SDK and https://github.com/CSi-Studio/AirdPro . Conclusions With the innovation of MS acquisition mode, MS data characteristics are also constantly changing. New data features can bring more effective compression methods and new index modes to achieve high search performance. The MS data storage mode will also become professional and customized. ZDPD uses multiple MS digital features, and researchers also can use it in other formats like mzML. Aird is designed to become a computing-oriented data format with high scalability, compression rate, and fast decoding speed.

BackgroundThe diagnosis of a periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) is always a difficult point in research on the surgery of joints. The current diagnostic criteria include a comprehensive analysis of multiple tests; however, there are no effective visual examinations yet that can differentiate between aseptic loosening and the PJI.Case presentationThis case report describes four patients with symptomatic total hip arthroplasty (THA), two cases of loosening and two cases of infection. Although the four cases were correctly diagnosed by the tissue culture, preoperative tests and pathological examination could not effectively distinguish an infection from a non-infection. Based on a preclinical study and theoretical feasibility, gallium-68 (68Ga)-labeled fibroblast activation protein inhibitor positron emission tomography/computed tomography (68Ga-FAPI PET/CT) was performed. Through 68Ga-FAPI PET/CT scanning, not only were the causes diagnosed correctly but the lesions were also located.ConclusionWhen the lesion is located between the bone and the prosthesis, 68Ga-FAPI PET/CT could differentiate aseptic loosening from periprosthetic joint infection (PJI). 68Ga-FAPI PET/CT has clear advantages over routine examinations and has a prospective application in detecting PJI.

Gear honing is a cost-efficient method for the finishing of hardened gears in which material removal is realized through honing wheel and workpiece gear interactions. There are a number of indicators used for evaluating the degrees of these interactions, among which specific energy is a more appropriate one than the others since it is capable of quantifying the amount of energy consumption during the material removal process. Nevertheless, models for the prediction of specific energy in gear honing have not been thoroughly investigated. This work presents a theoretical model of specific energy to quantitatively evaluate the material removal efficiency in the external gear honing process. To develop the model, an analytical material removal rate and a honing force model are proposed, and the feasibility of the proposed model is validated against external gear honing experiments. The correlations of specific energy with processing parameters are investigated and the material removal efficiency scores of external gear honing and grinding are compared and discussed. The present approach enables an in-depth understanding of the abrasive–material interactions in the gear honing process and the effects of processing parameters on material removal efficiency.

Several methods have been used to assess heavy metal contamination in sediments. However, an assessment that considers both composite heavy metal speciation and concentration is necessary to accurately study ecological risks. This study improved the potential ecological risk index method and calculated the toxicity coefficients of seven heavy metals: Arsenic (As), Cadmium (Cd), Chromium (Cr), Copper (Cu), Nickel (Ni), Lead (Pb), and Zinc (Zn). The newly calculated toxicity coefficients were validated by using previously published heavy metal distribution data of the Henan section of the Yellow River. The calculation procedure is based on the principle that the abundance of heavy metals in the environment and their bioavailable forms affect the toxicity of heavy metals. The toxicity coefficients for the seven heavy metals were calculated as follows: As = 10, Cd = 20, Cr = 5, Cu = 2, Ni = 5, Pb = 5, Zn = 1. Ecological risk assessment of the Henan section of the Yellow River using the improved toxicity coefficients revealed that the ecological risk of Cd and total heavy metals is higher than previous calculations, reaching the strength and moderate risk levels, respectively. The improved potential ecological risk index method is more sensitive to heavy metal pollution and thus provides a better indication of ecological risk. This is a necessary improvement to provide more accurate pollution assessments.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the effectiveness of a new tracer (S)-1-(4-(6-(dimethylamino)quinoxalin-2-yl)phenoxy)-3-fluoropropan-2-ol ([18F]-S16), in distinguishing patients with AD from HCs.MethodsPaired [18F]-S16 and [18F]-THK5317 scans were acquired in five patients with AD, six HCs, one subject with a semantic variant of primary progressive aphasia (sv-PPA) and one subject with probable progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). Dynamic PET scanning was performed over 90 min after injection of the tracers. Standardized uptake values (SUV) and cortical-to-cerebellum standardized uptake value ratios (SUVRs) were used for tau deposition semi-quantization. A voxel-based analysis was employed to assess the uptake difference between populations.Results[18F]-S16 exhibited excellent blood-brain-barrier penetration. AD patients showed increased cortical [18F]-THK5317 and [18F]-S16 binding. Compared to HCs, AD patients showed significantly increased cortical [18F]-S16 uptake in the bilateral occipital cortex, posterior cingulated cortex/precuneus, and lateral frontal cortex. Notable [18F]-S16 uptake was observed in the basal ganglia and brainstem compared to the neocortex. A substantial [18F]-S16 signal was detected in the basal ganglia and midbrain in a patient with probable PSP and in the bilateral anterior temporal cortex in a sv-PPA patient.Conclusion[18F]-S16 might be of help to detect tau protein in vivo.

The constitutive androstane receptor (CAR, NR3I1) belongs to nuclear receptor superfamily. It was reported that CAR agonist TCPOBOP induces hepatomegaly but the underlying mechanism remains largely unknown. Yes-associated protein (YAP) is a potent regulator of organ size. The aim of this study is to explore the role of YAP in CAR activation-induced hepatomegaly and liver regeneration. TCPOBOP-induced CAR activation on hepatomegaly and liver regeneration was evaluated in wild-type (WT) mice, liver-specific YAP-deficient mice, and partial hepatectomy (PHx) mice. The results demonstrate that TCPOBOP can increase the liver-to-body weight ratio in wild-type mice and PHx mice. Hepatocytes enlargement around central vein (CV) area was observed, meanwhile hepatocytes proliferation was promoted as evidenced by the increased number of KI67+ cells around portal vein (PV) area. The protein levels of YAP and its downstream targets were upregulated in TCPOBOP-treated mice and YAP translocation can be induced by CAR activation. Co-immunoprecipitation results suggested a potential protein–protein interaction of CAR and YAP. However, CAR activation-induced hepatomegaly can still be observed in liver-specific YAP-deficient (Yap–/–) mice. In summary, CAR activation promotes hepatomegaly and liver regeneration partially by inducing YAP translocation and interaction with YAP signaling pathway, which provides new insights to further understand the physiological functions of CAR.

Although 17β-estradiol (E2) can be locally synthesized in the brain, whether and how brain-derived E2 (BDE2) impacts neurogenesis with aging is largely unclear. In this study, we examined the hippocampal neural stem cells, neurogenesis, and gliogenesis of 1, 3, 6, 14, and 18-month (Mon) female rats. Female forebrain neuronal aromatase knockout (FBN-ARO-KO) rats and letrozole-treated rats were also employed. We demonstraed that (1) the number of neural stem cells declined over 14-Mon age, and the differentiation of astrocytes and microglia markedly elevated and exhibited excessive activation. KO rats showed declines in astrocyte A2 subtype and elevation in A1 subtype at 18 Mon; (2) neurogenesis sharply dropped from 1-Mon age; (3) KO suppressed dentate gyrus (DG) neurogenesis at 1, 6 and 18 Mon. Additionally, KO and letrozole treatment led to declined neurogenesis at 1-Mon age, compared to age-matched WT controls; (4) FBN-ARO-KO inhibited CREB-BDNF activation, and decreased protein levels of neurofilament, spinophilin and PSD95. Notably, hippocampal-dependent spatial learning and memory was impaired in juvenile (1 Mon) and adulthood (6 Mon) KO rats. Taken together, we demonstrated that BDE2 plays a pivotal role for hippocampal neurogenesis, as well as learning and memory during female aging, especially in juvenile and middle age.

Abstract Objective Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is featured by early metastasis and late diagnosis. MicroRNA-301 (miR-301) is known to participate in diverse cancers. Nevertheless, effects of miR-301 on ESCC remain unexplored. Thus, we aim to explore the role of miR-301 in ESCC progression. Methods Expression of miR-301 and phosphatase and tensin homologue (PTEN) in ESCC tissues and cell lines was assessed. Next, the screened cells were treated with altered miR-301 or PTEN oligonucleotide and plasmid, and then, the colony formation ability, cell viability, migration, invasion, cell cycle distribution and apoptosis of ESCC cells were assessed. Moreover, tumor growth and microvessel density (MVD) were also assessed, and the targeting relationship between miR-301 and PTEN was affirmed. Results MiR-301 was upregulated, and PTEN was downregulated in ESCC tissues and cells. KYSE30 cells and Eca109 cells were selected for functional assays. In KYSE30 cells, inhibited miR-301 or overexpressed PTEN suppressed cell malignant behaviors, and silenced PTEN eliminated the impact of miR-301 inhibition on ESCC progression. In Eca109 cells, miR-301 overexpression or PTEN inhibition promoted cell malignant behaviors, and PTEN overexpression reversed the effects of miR-301 elevation on ESCC progression. The in vivo assay revealed that miR-301 inhibition or PTEN overexpression repressed ESCC tumor growth and MVD, and miR-301 elevation or PTEN reduction had contrary effects. Moreover, PTEN was targeted by miR-301. Conclusion Taken together, results in our study revealed that miR-301 affected cell growth, metastasis and angiogenesis via regulating PTEN expression in ESCC.

Purpose – This paper aims to reschedule the freight train timetable in case of disturbance to restore the train services as soon as possible. Design/methodology/approach – Hence, an integer linear programming model for the real-time freight heavy-haul railway traffic management is developed in case of large primary delays caused by the delayed cargos loading. The proposed model based on the alternative graph at the microscopic level depicts the freight train movements in detail. Multiple dispatching measures such as re-timing and re-ordering are taken into account. Moreover, two objective functions, namely, the total final delays and the consecutive delays, are minimized in the freight trains dispatching problem. Findings – Finally, a real-world computational experiment based on the Haolebaoji-Ji’an freight heavy-haul railway is implemented. The results of all disrupted cases are obtained within 10 s. The results give insight into that the consecutive delays are more than the total final delays when the same disrupted situation and the consecutive or total final delays increase as the primary delays increase. Originality/value – An integer linear programming model based on the alternative graph for the real-time freight heavy-haul railway traffic management is developed in case of large primary delays caused by the delayed cargos loading. The method can be developed as the computer-aided tool for freight train dispatchers.

BackgroundThe thioflavin T derivative, 11C-Pittsburgh-B (PIB), is used for Alzheimer's disease imaging because it specifically binds to β-amyloid protein deposits in the brain. The aim of this study was to estimate the diagnostic value of combined 11C-PIB positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance (PET/MR) in cardiac amyloidosis (CA).MethodsWe enrolled 23 heart failure patients with suspected CA based on echocardiographic and electrocardiograph findings. All patients underwent cardiac 11C-PIB PET/MR and non-cardiac biopsy within one week. We also enrolled eight healthy volunteers that underwent cardiac 11C-PIB PET/MR as a control group. The cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) protocol included cine imaging, late gadolinium enhancement (LGE), and native and post-contrast T1 mapping. Extracellular volume (ECV) was measured using pre- and post-contrast T1 mapping images. LVEF, IVSD, LVPW, LVmass, LVESV, LVEDV, native T1 value, ECV, and maximum uptake of myocardial tissue-to-blood background ratio (TBR) values were obtained from PET/MR images in all patients and healthy subjects.ResultsThirteen out of twenty-three heart failure patients were clinically diagnosed with CA. The remaining 10 patients were CA-negative (non-CA patient group). Twelve of the thirteen CA patients showed diffuse transmural LGE patterns, whereas LGE was either absent or patchy in the non-CA patients. The diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of TBRmax were 92.3 and 100%, respectively, at a cut-off value of 1.09. Several CMR imaging parameters (LVEF, IVSD, LVmass, LVEDV, LVESV, LVPW, native T1 value and ECV) and TBR showed significant differences between CA patients, non-CA patients, and healthy controls (P < 0.05). Native T1 mapping values positively correlated with TBRmax values in CA and non-CA patients (r = 0.38, P = 0.0004).Conclusions11C-PIB PET/MRI is a valuable tool for the accurate and non-invasive diagnosis of CA because it distinguishes CA patients from non-CA patients and healthy subjects with high specificity and sensitivity. Moreover, native T1 mapping values positively correlated with TBRmax values in CA and non-CA patients. In the future, larger cohort studies are necessary to confirm our findings.

The main residue and the co-crystallized solvent molecule aggregate to discrete pairs via a classical O—H...O hydrogen bond with a distance of 2.8581 (7) Å between the methanol OH donor and the quinazolinone O=C acceptor.

Abstract Organic matter production and decomposition primarily modulate the atmospheric O2 and CO2 levels. The long term marine primary productivity is controlled by the terrestrial input of phosphorus (P), while the marine P cycle would also affect organic matter production. In the past 540 million years, the evolution of terrestrial system, e.g. colonization of continents by vascular land plants in late Paleozoic, would certainly affect terrestrial P input into the ocean, which in turn might have impacted the marine primary productivity and organic carbon burial. However, it remains unclear how the marine P cycle would respond to the change of terrestrial system. Here we reconstruct the secular variations of terrestrial P input and biological utilization of seawater P in Phanerozoic. Our study indicates that riverine dissolved P input and marine P biological utilization (i.e. the fraction of P being buried as organophosphorus) are inversely correlated, suggesting the coupling of continental P input and marine P cycle. We propose an increase of P input would elevate surface ocean productivity, which in turn enhances marine iron redox cycle. Active Fe redox cycle favors the scavenging of seawater P through FeOOH absorption and authigenic phosphate formation in sediments, and accordingly reduces the bioavailability of seawater P. The negative feedback of marine P cycle to terrestrial P input would keep a relatively constant organic carbon burial, limiting the variations of surface Earth temperature and atmospheric O2 level.

Abstract Background G-protein-coupled estrogen receptor (GPER/GPR30) is a novel membrane-associated estrogen receptor that can induce rapid kinase signaling in various cells. Activation of GPER can prevent hippocampal neuronal cell death following transient global cerebral ischemia (GCI), although the mechanisms remain unclear. In the current study, we sought to address whether GPER activation exerts potent anti-inflammatory effects in the rat hippocampus after GCI as a potential mechanism to limit neuronal cell death. Methods GCI was induced by four-vessel occlusion in ovariectomized female SD rats. Specific agonist G1 or antagonist G36 of GPER was administrated using minipump, and antisense oligonucleotide (AS) of interleukin-1β receptor antagonist (IL1RA) was administrated using brain infusion kit. Protein expression of IL1RA, NF-κB-P65, phosphorylation of CREB (p-CREB), Bcl2, cleaved caspase 3, and microglial markers Iba1, CD11b, as well as inflammasome components NLRP3, ASC, cleaved caspase 1, and Cle-IL1β in the hippocampal CA1 region were investigated by immunofluorescent staining and Western blot analysis. The Duolink II in situ proximity ligation assay (PLA) was performed to detect the interaction between NLRP3 and ASC. Immunofluorescent staining for NeuN and TUNEL analysis were used to analyze neuronal survival and apoptosis, respectively. We performed Barnes maze and Novel object tests to compare the cognitive function of the rats. Results The results showed that G1 attenuated GCI-induced elevation of Iba1 and CD11b in the hippocampal CA1 region at 14 days of reperfusion, and this effect was blocked by G36. G1 treatment also markedly decreased expression of the NLRP3-ASC-caspase 1 inflammasome and IL1β activation, as well as downstream NF-κB signaling, the effects reversed by G36 administration. Intriguingly, G1 caused a robust elevation in neurons of a well-known endogenous anti-inflammatory factor IL1RA, which was reversed by G36 treatment. G1 also enhanced p-CREB level in the hippocampus, a transcription factor known to enhance expression of IL1RA. Finally, in vivo IL1RA-AS abolished the anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, and anti-apoptotic effects of G1 after GCI and reversed the cognitive-enhancing effects of G1 at 14 days after GCI. Conclusions Taken together, the current results suggest that GPER preserves cognitive function following GCI in part by exerting anti-inflammatory effects and enhancing the defense mechanism of neurons by upregulating IL1RA.

In order to investigate the formation mechanism of the residual stress and residual strain in a nitrate ester plasticized polyether (NEPE) propellant grain during the curing and cooling process, the temperature, curing degree and stress/strain of the NEPE propellant grain during the curing and cooling process were analyzed via ABAQUS finite element software. The results indicate that there is a temperature gradient in the NEPE propellant grain during curing at 50 °C. The maximum temperature difference is about 5 °C and the maximum temperature is located on the center of propellant grain. At the end of curing, the temperature in the interior of the grain tends to be uniform. The curing degree in the NEPE propellant grain during the curing process has the same trend as temperature. The residual stress/strain of the NEPE propellant grain during the curing and cooling down processes are mainly composed of curing shrinkage stress/strain in the curing process and thermal stress/strain in the cooling down process. The curing shrinkage stress and strain in the curing process account for 19% and 31% of the whole process, respectively. The thermal stress and thermal strain in cooling down process account for 75% and 69% of the whole process, respectively. The thermal stress and thermal strain in the curing process can nearly be ignored. The residual stress and residual strain calculated by the traditional method is larger than that obtained in this paper. The maximum deviation of the residual stress and residual strain are about 8% and 17%, respectively.

Ferromagnetic materials are widely used in the manufacturing of key parts of energy equipment, due to their good mechanical properties, such as in nuclear power and pipes. Mechanical stress exists inside of these key parts during operation. Stress can be estimated indirectly by nondestructive testing methods that measure the magnetic flux leakage signals on the surface of the structure, which is of great importance for ensuring the safety of the equipment. However, the physical mechanism of the stress and magnetic field in the magnetization of ferromagnetic materials is still unclear, leading to limited applications of the technique in practice. In this paper, magnetization tests were carried out to investigate magnetization changes under the coupling effect of stress and a noncoaxial magnetic field. Two identical Q195 low-carbon steel specimens were tested. Specimen 1 was subjected to magnetic field values successively increasing from 0 A/m to 6000 A/m under constant uniaxial tension at different angles θ between the field and stress axis. Specimen 2 was subjected to the same magnetic field under different levels of stress at an angle of 0°. The surface magnetic induction B of the specimens was measured and analyzed at each angle of stress–field orientation and at different levels of stress. It was found that there was a difference in the direction between the B and the magnetic field H at different angles θ. The magnetization curves correlated to the angle θ and the stress levels. The behavior of the derived maximum differential permeability and maximum magnetic induction could be used for the nondestructive evaluation of stress magnitude and direction in materials already in service.

Global cerebral ischemia can elicit rapid innate neuroprotective mechanisms that protect against delayed neuronal death. Brain-derived 17β-estradiol (BDE2), an endogenous neuroprotectant, is synthesized from testosterone by the enzyme aromatase (Aro) and is upregulated by brain ischemia and inflammation. Our recent study revealed that G1, a specific G-protein-coupled estrogen receptor 1 (GPER) agonist, exerts anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic roles after global cerebral ischemia (GCI). Herein, we aimed to elucidate whether G1 modulates the early inflammatory process and the potential underlying mechanisms in the ovariectomized rat hippocampal CA1 region. G1 was found to markedly reduce pro-inflammatory (iNOS, MHCII, and CD68) and to enhance anti-inflammatory (CD206, Arginase 1, IL1RA, PPARγ, and BDNF) markers after 1 and 3 days of reperfusion after GCI. Intriguingly, the neuroprotection of G1 was blocked by the Aro inhibitor, letrozole. Conversely, the GPER antagonist, G36, inhibited Aro-BDE2 signaling and exacerbated neuronal damage. As a whole, this work demonstrates a novel anti-inflammatory role of GPER, involving a synergistic mediation with BDE2 during the early stage of GCI.

In this paper, variations in the normal component of the magnetic field BZ on the surface of Q195 steel specimens produced by simultaneous application of noncoaxial DC magnetic field and stress were studied by tensile tests. It was found that there was no shift in the direction of BZ variations when the specimens were magnetized parallel to stress, whereas the direction of BZ variations shifted a slight angle relative to the DC magnetic field when the specimens were magnetized perpendicular to stress. The amplitude of BZ increased with stress from 0 MPa to 120 MPa when the stress was parallel to the DC magnetic field. On the contrary, the amplitude of BZ decreased with stress from 0 MPa to 120 MPa when the stress was perpendicular to the DC magnetic field. The mechanisms underlying the experimental characteristics are also discussed. This research provides the possibility for quantitative inspection of the stress in ferromagnetic steels using surface magnetic field measurements.
