Abstract The adaptability of insects to hosts has long been a focal point in the study of insect-plant interactions. The pea aphid (Acythosiphon pisum), a significant pest of numerous leguminous crops, not only inflicts direct economic losses but also disseminates various plant viruses. To understand how pea aphids adapt to diverse alfalfa varieties. We analyzed the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) of pea aphids in distinct alfalfa varieties using transcriptome sequencing, and subsequently conducted functional validation of these genes. Comparative analysis between pea aphids feeding on susceptible and resistant strains revealed that DEGs in aphids feeding on resistant strains were primarily associated with transcriptional enrichment in the sugar, amino acid, protein, and lipid metabolism pathways. Fourteen DEGs related to adaptation of the pea aphid to alfalfa were chosen, including five carboxylesterases (CarE), four cytochrome P450s, three glutathione S-transferases, and two peroxidases (POD). RT-qPCR results indicated significant up-regulation of two carboxylesterase genes and two peroxidase genes after 24 h of feeding resistant alfalfa (Gannong 5, GN5) compared to the susceptible varieties (Hunter River, LRH), particularly highlighting the high expression levels of ApCarE4 and ApPOD3. Simultaneously, RNAi-induced knockdown of ApCarE4 and ApPOD3 led to a higher mortality of pea aphids in the alfalfa Hunter River. These results indicate that ApPOD3 and ApCarE4 are involved in the detoxification of metabolic functions in the adaptation of pea aphids to host switching. These findings contribute to the understanding of pea aphid adaptation to host plants and lay a foundation for further exploration of the physiological roles of carboxylesterase and peroxidase genes in pea aphids.

Abstract In order to reduce the interference of abnormal energy big data and improve the accuracy of anomaly cleaning and detection, this paper proposes a method for cleaning abnormal energy big database based on sparse self-coding. Firstly, the abnormal data detection method based on multi-criteria evaluation is used to analyze the spectral feature distribution of abnormal energy big data. By using chaotic time series reconstruction model, robust local weighted regression analysis and sparse self-coding method, the feature decomposition of time series of energy data is realized. Then, according to the periodicity of the original sequence, the original sequence is segmitated adaptively to represent the morphological characteristics of the abnormal energy data sub-sequences driven by dynamic carbon emissions, and the anomaly index of each sub-sequence is obtained by AFCM algorithm. Secondly, an energy anomaly evaluation model based on LOF value is established. Finally, the output decision function of data cleaning is constructed to realize the abnormal energy big data cleaning. The test results show that the error detection rate of this method is 0.24%, the missing detection rate is 0.27%, the cleaning rate can reach 99.49%, and the cleaning time is less than 2s.

Abstract The construction of databases of detrital zircon is important for Earth science research. A total of 27,915 U–Pb ages and 4,968 Hf isotopic compositions of detrital zircons from the upper Paleozoic–Mesozoic strata of the North China Block were compiled from articles in the Web of Science and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure. This dataset yields five age groups, at 3.9–1.0 Ga, 1,000–540 Ma, 540–360 Ma, 360–240 Ma and 240–95 Ma. The 3.9–1.0 Ga group has two peaks at ~2.5 and ~ 1.85 Ga. The 1,000–540 Ma and 540–380 Ma groups have three peaks at ~920 Ma, 780–750 Ma and ~ 440 Ma. Detrital zircon grains with ages of 360–240 Ma have multiple age peaks at ~380, ~320, ~280 and ~250 Ma. The group with ages of 240–95 Ma yields four peak ages at ~220, ~180, ~160 and ~120 Ma. Corresponding εHf(t) values range from −81.3 to +41.9, with two‐stage Hf model ages (TDM2) of 4,335–204 Ma. This dataset provides a comprehensive and systematic archive of detrital zircon data for Paleozoic–Mesozoic successions in the North China Block, which can be used to track tectono‐sedimentary and crustal evolution. In using this dataset, two issues need to be considered. First, the number of detrital zircon analyses from each sample varies markedly, which may influence the interpretation of the dataset. Second, there may be large uncertainties in the stratigraphic ages assigned to the samples.

Abstract Background Plant-specific TIFY proteins play crucial roles in regulating plant growth, development, and various stress responses. However, there is no information available about this family in Artemisia argyi, a well-known traditional medicinal plant with great economic value. Results A total of 34 AaTIFY genes were identified, including 4 TIFY, 22 JAZ, 5 PPD, and 3 ZML genes. Structural, motif scanning, and phylogenetic relationships analysis of these genes revealed that members within the same group or subgroup exhibit similar exon-intron structures and conserved motif compositions. The TIFY genes were unevenly distributed across the 15 chromosomes. Tandem duplication events and segmental duplication events have been identified in the TIFY family in A. argyi. These events have played a crucial role in the gene multiplication and compression of different subfamilies within the TIFY family. Promoter analysis revealed that most AaTIFY genes contain multiple cis-elements associated with stress response, phytohormone signal transduction, and plant growth and development. Expression analysis of roots and leaves using RNA-seq data revealed that certain AaTIFY genes showed tissue-specific expression patterns, and some AaTIFY genes, such as AaTIFY19/29, were found to be involved in regulating salt and saline-alkali stresses. In addition, RT-qPCR analysis showed that TIFY genes, especially AaTIFY19/23/27/29, respond to a variety of hormonal treatments, such as MeJA, ABA, SA, and IAA. This suggested that TIFY genes in A. argyi regulate plant growth and respond to different stresses by following different hormone signaling pathways. Conclusion Taken together, our study conducted a comprehensive identification and analysis of the TIFY gene family in A. argyi. These findings suggested that TIFY might play an important role in plant development and stress responses, which laid a valuable foundation for further understanding the function of TIFY genes in multiple stress responses and phytohormone crosstalk in A. argyi.

Abstract Background The initial randomized, double‐blinded, actively controlled, phase III ANEAS study (NCT03849768) demonstrated that aumolertinib showed superior efficacy relative to gefitinib as first‐line therapy in epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)‐mutated advanced non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Metastatic disease in the central nervous system (CNS) remains a challenge in the management of NSCLC. This study aimed to compare the efficacy of aumolertinib versus gefitinib among patients with baseline CNS metastases in the ANEAS study. Methods Eligible patients were enrolled and randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to orally receive either aumolertinib or gefitinib in a double‐blinded fashion. Patients with asymptomatic, stable CNS metastases were included. Follow‐up imaging of the same modality as the initial CNS imaging was performed every 6 weeks for 15 months, then every 12 weeks. CNS response was assessed by a neuroradiological blinded, independent central review (neuroradiological‐BICR). The primary endpoint for this subgroup analysis was CNS progression‐free survival (PFS). Results Of the 429 patients enrolled and randomized in the ANEAS study, 106 patients were found to have CNS metastases (CNS Full Analysis Set, cFAS) at baseline by neuroradiological‐BICR, and 60 of them had CNS target lesions (CNS Evaluable for Response, cEFR). Treatment with aumolertinib significantly prolonged median CNS PFS compared with gefitinib in both cFAS (29.0 vs. 8.3 months; hazard ratio [HR] = 0.31; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.17‐0.56; P < 0.001) and cEFR (29.0 vs. 8.3 months; HR = 0.26; 95% CI, 0.11‐0.57; P < 0.001). The confirmed CNS overall response rate in cEFR was 85.7% and 75.0% in patients treated with aumolertinib and gefitinib, respectively. Competing risk analysis showed that the estimated probability of CNS progression without prior non‐CNS progression or death was consistently lower with aumolertinib than with gefitinib in patients with and without CNS metastases at baseline. No new safety findings were observed. Conclusions These results indicate a potential advantage of aumolertinib over gefitinib in terms of CNS PFS and the risk of CNS progression in patients with EGFR‐mutated advanced NSCLC with baseline CNS metastases. Abstract Background Spheno-orbital meningioma (SOM) represents a unique variant of sphenoid wing meningiomas, distinguished by its propensity for bone infiltration and cranio-orbital involvement. SOM exhibits a considerable incidence of misdiagnosis and recurrence. Purposes To elucidate the clinical, radiological, and pathological characteristics of SOM. Methods Review of electronic medical records, histopathology, radiological images and follow-up information of 100 SOM patients. Results Of the 100 patients (28 males, 72 females) with SOM, mean age was 46.8 ± 12.6 years and prevalent symptoms were proptosis (99%). All the CT scans showed hyperostosis with 89.3% of the hyperostosis having an irregular edge. In MRI scans, dural tail sign was observed across all patients and the cranio-orbital tumors often penetrated temporal muscle (74.1%), extraocular muscle (74.1%) and lacrimal gland (63%). All the 100 patients underwent surgical intervention, and among them, 62 individuals received postoperative radiotherapy. Grade I resections had a lower recurrence rate(16.7%), which further decreased with the addition of radiotherapy(13.9%). In contrast, all patients with grade II or higher grade resections without radiotherapy experienced recurrence, indicating a higher risk associated with less complete tumor removal. The pathological examination revealed that intraorbital sections exhibited comparable tumor density to intraorbital SOM tumors, along with increased fibrous density but decreased vascular distribution. Conclusions Radiological characteristics of SOM included cranio-orbital tumors, hyperostosis of the sphenoid wing with an irregular edge, and dural tail sign. Combination of gross total resection and adjuvant radiotherapy was recommended to minimize recurrence rate. Intracranial SOM tumors tended to be softer and more bleed-prone than intraorbital sections, necessitating surgical precision.

This research evaluated the effects of copper (Cu) on intestinal antioxidant capacity and apical junctional complex (AJC) in juvenile grass carp. A total of 1080 healthy juvenile grass carp (11.16 ± 0.01 g) were fed six diets including different dosages of Cu, namely 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 mg/kg (Cu citrate [CuCit] as Cu source) and 3 mg/kg (CuSO4·5H2O as Cu source). The trial lasted for 9 weeks. The findings revealed that dietary optimal Cu supplementation (2.2 to 4.1 mg/kg) promoted intestinal growth, including intestinal length, intestinal length index, intestinal weight, and intestinal somatic index (P 0.05). Zirconia (ZrO2) ceramic has excellent mechanical properties and superior chemical stability, making it widely used in aerospace, microelectronics, biomedicine, and mechanical manufacturing. However, due to its difficult-to-machine characteristics, traditional machining methods struggle with fabricating large-aspect-ratio (LAR) microchannels in zirconia ceramics. This study compares direct laser machining (DLM) and waterjet-assisted laser micromachining (WJALM) in preparing LAR zirconia microchannels, focusing on surface morphology, heat-affected zones, microhardness, chemical and phase composition. Subsequently, parameter experiments of WJALM were carried out to achieve superior machined quality LAR zirconia microchannels by assessing the geometric profile and ablation-area-ratio. Experimental results indicated that WJALM significantly surpasses DLM, achieving a 46 % decrease in areal surface roughness (Sa), WJALM reduced the heat-affected zone depth by approximately 37 % compared to DLM. The WJALM process also enhanced the ablation-area-ratio by 61 %, achieving superior machining quality under optimized conditions of 27 W laser power, 100 mm/s scanning speed, and 8 m/s waterjet velocity.

Abstract Yaks live in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau for a long time where oxygen is scarce, but can ensure the smooth development of testis and spermatogenesis. The key lies in the functional regulation of the Sertoli cells under hypoxia. In this study, we sequenced yak Sertoli cells cultured in normal oxygen concentration (Normoxia) and treated with low oxygen concentration (Hypoxia) by whole transcriptomics, and screened out 194 differentially expressed mRNAs (DEmRNAs), 934 differentially expressed LncRNAs (DELncRNAs) and 129 differentially expressed miRNAs (DEmiRNAs). GO and KEGG analysis showed that these differential genes were mainly concentrated in PI3K-AKT, MAPK, RAS, and other signaling pathways, and were associated with glucose metabolism, tight junction, steroid hormone synthesis, cell fusion, and immunity of yak Sertoli cells. We constructed the gene interaction network of yak Sertoli cells in hypoxia and screened out the relationship pairs related to glucose metabolism and tight junction. The results suggested that the changes in energy metabolism, tight junction, and immune regulation of yak Sertoli cells under hypoxia might provide favorable conditions for spermatogenesis. This study provides data for further study on the role of non-coding RNA in testis development and spermatogenesis of yak.

Abstract Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) is characterized by intrusive thoughts and repetitive, compulsive behaviors, with childhood trauma recognized as a contributing factor to its pathophysiology. This study aimed to delineate brain functional aberrations in OCD patients and explore the association between these abnormalities and childhood trauma, to gain insights into the neural underpinnings of OCD. Abstract Background Pyrethroid chemicals are one of the main acaricides used against ticks. Resistance to these chemicals has been reported to be associated with mutations in the voltage-gated sodium channel (VGSC) gene of the Rhipicephalus microplus. This study investigates R. microplus resistance to pyrethroids in Guangxi region of China, marking one of the first research efforts in this area. The findings are intended to provide vital baseline for the effective implementation of localized tick control strategies. Methods From March to July 2021, 447 R. microplus tick samples were collected from five prefecture-level cities in Guangxi. Allele-specific polymerase chain reaction (AS-PCR) was used to amplify segments C190A and G215T of the domain II S4-5 linker and T2134A of domain III S6 in the VGSC, to detect nucleotide mutations associated with resistance to pyrethroid acaricides. Subsequent analyses were conducted to ascertain the prevalence, types of mutations, and genotypic distributions within the sampled populations. Results Mutations within VGSC gene were identified across all five studied populations of R. microplus, although the mutation rates remained generally low. Specifically, the most prevalent mutation was C190A, observed in 4.9% of the samples (22/447), followed by G215T at 4.0% (18/447), and T2134A at 1.3% (6/447). The distribution of mutations across three critical sites of the VGSC gene revealed four distinct mutation types: C190A, G215T, C190A + G215T, and T2134A. Notably, the single mutation C190A had the highest mutation frequency, accounting for 4.3%, and the C190A + G215T combination had the lowest, at only 0.7%. The analysis further identified seven genotypic combinations, with the wild-type combination C/C + G/G + T/T predominating at a frequency of 90.4%. Subsequently, the C/A + G/G + T/T combination was observed at a frequency of 4.3%, whereas the C/C + T/T + T/T combination exhibited the lowest frequency (0.2%). Additionally, no instances of simultaneous mutations at all three sites were detected. Geographical differences in mutation types were apparent. Both samples from Hechi to Chongzuo cities exhibited the same three mutation types; however, C190A was the most prevalent in Hechi, while G215T dominated in Chongzuo. In contrast, samples from Beihai to Guilin each exhibited only one mutation type: G215T occurred in 12.5% (4/32) of Beihai samples, and C190A in 7.5% (4/53) of Guilin samples. Conclusions These findings underscore the relatively low frequency of VGSC gene mutations in R. microplus associated with pyrethroid resistance in the Guangxi, China. Moreover, the variation in mutation types and genotypic distributions across different locales highlights the need for regionalized strategies in monitoring and managing pyrethroid resistance in tick populations. This molecular surveillance is crucial for informing targeted control measures and mitigating the risk of widespread resistance emergence. Graphical Abstract

Abstract Associations between psychiatric disorders and digestive tract cancers have been proposed. However, the causal link between these factors remains unclear. This study pioneers Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to explore the genetic link between psychiatric disorders and digestive tract cancers risk. We analysed data on six psychiatric disorders [schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder (MDD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and panic disorder (PD)] and digestive tract cancers [esophagus cancer (EC), gastric cancer (GC), and colorectal cancer (CRC)] from genome-wide association studies databases. Using instrumental variables identified from significant single nucleotide polymorphism associations, we employed the inverse variance weighted (IVW) method alongside the weighted median (WM) method and MR-Egger regression. The results revealed no causal link between psychiatric disorders and the risk of EC or GC. Psychiatric disorders were not identified as risk factors for CRC. Notably, PD demonstrated a lower CRC risk (OR = 0.79, 95% CI 0.66–0.93, P = 0.01). This MR analysis underscores the lack of a causal association between psychiatric disorders and digestive tract cancers risk while suggesting a potential protective effect of PD against CRC.

Abstract Purpose To evaluate the availability, cost, affordability of anti-cancer medicines in Nanjing, Jiangsu. Methods A longitudinal tracking investigation study was performed to collect information about 24 essential anti-cancer medicines (EAMs) and 17 innovative anti-cancer medicines (IAMs) in 26 healthcare institutions in Nanjing from 2016 to 2020. The availability, cost, drug utilization and affordability of EAMs and IAMs were investigated. Results The availability of EAMs showed no significant changes in Nanjing, but the availability of IAMs showed a significant increase in 2018 and 2019 and tended to stabilize in 2020. For EAMs, the DDDc(Defined Daily Dose cost) of LPGs (Lowest-Priced Generics) showed no significant changes, and the DDDc of OBs (Originator Brands) and IAMs significantly decreased. The DDDs(Defined Daily Doses) of EAMs (LPGs) showed a decreasing trend since 2016 and rose again in 2019. Overall, the DDDs of EAMs (LPGs) decreased by 25.18% between 2016 and 2020, but the proportion selected for clinical treatment remained at 67.35% in 2020. The DDDs of EAMs (OBs) and IAMs both showed an increasing trend year by year, with a proportional increase of 207.72% and 652.68%, respectively; but the proportion selected for clinical treatment was only 16.09% and 16.56% respectively in 2020. EAMs (LPGs) had good affordability for urban residents but poor affordability for rural residents; the affordability of EAMs (OBs) and IAMs was poor for both urban and rural residents. Conclusions There were no significant changes in the availability and cost of EAMs (LPGs), whose lower prices showed better affordability. Although their relative change in drug utilization showed a decreasing trend, they still dominated clinical treatment. Driven by the national drug price negotiation (NDPN) policy, the availability of IAMs was on the rise. It is necessary to further develop and strengthen policies for essential medicines procurement assessment to improve the accessibility of EAMs.

Abstract Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a complex neurodegenerative condition. 5α-epoxyalantolactone (5α-EAL), a eudesmane-type sesquiterpene isolated from the herb of Inula macrophylla, has various pharmacological effects. This work supposed to investigate the improved impact of 5α-EAL on cognitive impairment. 5α-EAL inhibited the generation of nitric oxide (NO) in BV-2 cells stimulated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) with an EC50 of 6.2 μM. 5α-EAL significantly reduced the production of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), while also inhibiting the production of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) proteins. The ability of 5α-EAL to penetrate the blood–brain barrier (BBB) was confirmed via a parallel artificial membrane permeation assay. Scopolamine (SCOP)-induced AD mice model was employed to assess the improved impacts of 5α-EAL on cognitive impairment in vivo. After the mice were pretreated with 5α-EAL (10 and 30 mg/kg per day, i.p.) for 21 days, the behavioral experiments indicated that the administration of the 5α-EAL could alleviate the cognitive and memory impairments. 5α-EAL significantly reduced the AChE activity in the brain of SCOP-induced AD mice. In summary, these findings highlight the beneficial effects of the natural product 5α-EAL as a potential bioactive compound for attenuating cognitive deficits in AD due to its pharmacological profile. Oxidation behaviors of a Ni–Cr–W based superalloy were investigated in terms of microstructural characteristics. It was found that the specimens with small grains present a better oxidation resistance owing to their higher density of grain boundaries. Based on analyses of the products of oxidation, the oxidation kinetics, the morphologies and the structures of oxide scales, the oxidation mechanisms correlated with the outward diffusions of metal cations were proposed. The results of this work indicated that grain refinement is one of effective measures to enhance the oxidation resistance of the investigated alloy.

Hesperidin is a kind of flavonoids, which has the biological activities of antioxidation, anti-inflammation, antibacterial, anti-virus, anti-allergy, anti-cancer, heart protection and neuroprotection. More and more studies have begun to pay attention to the therapeutic prospect of hesperidin in central nervous system (CNS) diseases. This paper describes its current role in the treatment of central nervous system diseases, especially stroke, and discusses its bioavailability, so as to provide a theoretical basis for the clinical application of hesperidin.

BackgroundThe complex relationship between insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) levels and heart failure (HF) is not fully understood, particularly across different populations and conditions. This meta-analysis aims to elucidate the dual perspectives of IGF-1 levels in the general population, HF patients, and individuals with treatment-naïve acromegaly, highlighting IGF-1 as a biomarker and potential therapeutic target in HF management.MethodsStudies were searched across multiple electronic databases up to January 2024 and independently identified by reviewers. The outcomes were analyzed using RevMan 5.4 and STATA 15.ResultsA total of 25 articles were ultimately included in the analysis. Six studies compared IGF-1 levels between HF patients and non-HF controls, revealing significantly lower IGF-1 levels in HF patients (mean difference −20.93; 95% CI −37.88 to −3.97; p = 0.02). This reduction was consistent across various HF subtypes and severities. Through the above simulation analysis, we will conduct in-depth research on the specific impact of project risks on ship maintenance projects, and analyze and verify the positive role and practical significance of project risk management in project risk control and project efficiency improvement. In the process of the above research content, methods and measures for risk management of ship maintenance projects are proposed, providing scientific and efficient risk management suggestions for such projects, improving the scientific management efficiency of ship maintenance projects, and contributing to the improvement of the quality and efficiency of project management.

The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) SARS-CoV-2 virus epidemic continues to exhibit a sporadic onset trend due to the continuous variation of the novel coronavirus. However, the psychological impact of the pandemic persists. It is crucial to reflect on our experiences to better prepare for future large-scale infectious diseases. During outbreaks of infectious diseases, patients may still require orthopaedic surgery. It is crucial to prioritize the safety of medical staff and establish procedures to ensure their protection. However, with the implementation of a series of standardized operational protection procedures, orthopaedic surgeons can safely perform their duties without the risk of contracting COVID-19. There is no doubt that the orthopaedic occupational exposure protection process and perioperative management plan for global infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, require a standardized summarization process and a narrative review.

We report a novel widely tunable Ka-band optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) realized by integrating a Mach–Zehnder modulator (MZM), a thermally-tunable add-drop micro-ring resonator (MRR), and a Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI) on the thin film lithium niobate platform, with the MZM and the MRR sequentially situated in one of the MZI arms. The MZM is for modulating the optical carrier, while the add-drop MRR is for selecting a single modulation sideband to beat with the unmodulated optical carrier from the other arm of the MZI, such that the OEO oscillation frequency is determined by the frequency spacing between the optical carrier and the selected modulation sideband, while the frequency tuning range is determined by the free spectral range of the MRR. By tuning the resonances of the add-drop MRR, the oscillation frequency can be tuned from 20 to 35 GHz, with the phase noises of −85 dBc/Hz @10 kHz and −116 dBc/Hz @100 kHz in the whole tuning range, which represent much higher oscillation frequency, much wider frequency tuning range, and lower phase noise than those of the photonic integrated OEOs realized with other material platforms reported previously.

BackgroundMandibular defects pose significant challenges in reconstructive surgery, and scaffold materials are increasingly recognized for their potential to address these challenges. Among various scaffold materials, Beta-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) is noted for its exceptional osteogenic properties. However, improvements in its biodegradation rate and mechanical strength are essential for optimal performance.MethodsIn this study, we developed a novel β-TCP-based scaffold, CFBB, by calcining fetal bovine cancellous bone. To enhance its properties, we modified CFBB with Chitosan (CS) and Zinc (Zn), creating three additional scaffold materials: CFBB/CS, CFBB/Zn2+, and CFBB/Zn2+/CS. We conducted comprehensive assessments of their physicochemical and morphological properties, degradation rates, biocompatibility, osteogenic ability, new bone formation, and neovascularization both in vitro and in vivo.ResultsOur findings revealed that all four materials were biocompatible and safe for use. The modifications with CS and Zn2+ significantly improved the mechanical strength, osteogenic, and angiogenic properties of CFBB, while concurrently decelerating its resorption rate. Among the tested materials, CFBB/Zn2+/CS demonstrated superior performance in promoting bone regeneration and vascularization, making it a particularly promising candidate for mandibular reconstruction.ConclusionThe CFBB/Zn2+/CS scaffold material, with its enhanced mechanical, osteogenic, and angiogenic properties, and a controlled resorption rate, emerges as a highly effective alternative for the repair of oral mandible defects. This study underscores the potential of combining multiple bioactive agents in scaffold materials to improve their functionality for specific clinical applications in bone tissue engineering.

Chemodynamic therapy (CDT), designed to trigger a tumor-specific hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) reaction generating highly toxic hydroxyl radicals (·OH), has been investigated for cancer treatment. Unfortunately, the limited Fenton or Fenton-like reaction rate and the significant impact of excessive reducing glutathione (GSH) in the tumor microenvironment (TME) have severely compromised the effectiveness of CDT. To address this issue, we designed a dual-responsive nanoplatform utilizing a metal-polyphenol network (MPN) -coated multi-caged IrOx for efficient anti-tumor therapy in response to the acidic TME and intracellular excess of GSH, in which MPN composed of Fe3+ and tannic acid (TA). Initially, the acidic TME and intracellular excess of GSH lead to the degradation of the MPN shell, resulting in the release of Fe3+ and exposure of the IrOx core, facilitating the efficient dual-pathway CDT. Subsequently, the nanoplatform can mitigate the attenuation of CDT by consuming the excessive GSH within the tumor. Finally, the multi-caged structure of IrOx is advantageous for effectively implementing photothermal therapy (PTT) in coordination with CDT, further enhancing the therapeutic efficacy of tumors. Moreover, the outstanding Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) (T1/T2) multimodal imaging capabilities of IrOx@MPN enable early diagnosis and timely treatment. This work provides a typical example of the construction of a novel multifunctional platform for dual-responsive treatment of tumors.

Objective: This study aim to quantify the differences in knee biomechanics during gait between knee osteoarthritis (KOA) patients and healthy individuals. Methods: Twenty KOA patients (4 males and 16 females, 66.2 ± 7.7 years) and twenty controls (16 males and 4 females, 64.8 ± 5.4 years) were recruited for gait test using the motion capture system and force-platform system. The spatiotemporal parameters, knee kinematics and kinetics, and tibiofemoral contact force (TFCF) were calculated using an improved musculoskeletal model. Results: KOA patients walked with reduced speed (48.6 %), stride length (32.9 %), stride height (33.0 %), time proportions of single-support phases (19.2 %), increased gait cycle time (31.0 %), time proportions of stance (8.5 %) and double-support phases (57.7–75.9 %). KOA patients had significant smaller peak flexion angle (29.1 %), flexion ROM (50.6 %) and peak flexion moment (90.2 %), greater peak adduction moment (KAM) (40.7 %), peak rotation moments (KRM) (50.0 %), KAM impulse (106.2 %) and KRM impulse (126.0 %). In proximodistal direction, greater medial TFCF impulse (238 %), total and medial first-peak TFCF (9.6 % and 15.2 %), and smaller lateral peak TFCF (33.3 %) and TFCF impulse (38.4 %) were found in KOA patients. Besides, significant differences were found in the total, medial and lateral peak TFCFs and TFCF impulses in mediolateral direction, and the medial and lateral TFCFs and TFCF impulses in anteroposterior direction. Conclusions: Significant differences were found in the spatiotemporal parameters, knee kinematics and kinetics, and TFCF between the two groups. The results of this study have important implication for clinicians and rehabilitation physicians. These quantified biomechanical differences can provide data support for the personalized and quantified rehabilitation strategies, give suggestions for the exercises of KOA patients, help monitor disease, evaluate surgical treatment, and develop more effective preoperative planning and postoperative rehabilitation strategies.

BackgroundThe approval of eslicarbazepine acetate (ESL) by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2013 marked an advancement in the treatment of adult patients with partial-onset seizures. However, there still remains a paucity of real-world studies regarding the adverse events (AEs) associated with this compound. The principal aim of the present study was to scrutinize ESL-related AEs by leveraging data from the US Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) database.MethodsBy extracting all available data since the FDA approval of ESL (2013Q4-2024Q1), disproportionality analysis was performed using reporting odds ratio (ROR), proportional reporting ratio (PRR), Bayesian confidence propagation neural network (BCPNN) and multi-item gamma Poisson shrinker (MGPS) algorithms. AE signals that simultaneously met the requirements of all four algorithms were identified as significant positive signals. Demographic information, time of onset and gender-specific signal detection were also examined. In addition, a special screening process for designated medical events (DME) was implemented to focus on the evaluation and comparison of safety signals within DME and System Organ Classification (SOC) level, as well as SMQ (Standardised MedDRA Queries) level. Stratified analysis by logistic regression is employed to examine the variations across different gender (male and female) and age groups (65 years old).ResultsA total of 5,719 AE reports and 1,907 reported cases were obtained. ESL related AEs were identified in relation to 27 SOCs, among which the significant positive SOCs were nervous system disorders, injury poisoning and procedural complications, etc. There were 86 severely disproportional preferred terms that complied with the four algorithms. Most AEs occurred within the first month after treatment. According to the 86 valuable positive signals with DME screening results, 3 signals of dermatitis exfoliative, stevens-johnson syndrome, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms were consistent with PT signals on the DME-list, with the 3 PTs focusing on skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders and hypersensitivity. Males are more commonly affected by seizures than females. Seizures, hyponatremia, and confusional states were more frequently observed in the elderly population, while aggression, irritability, DRESS (drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms), and abnormal behavior were found to be more common in the pediatric population. Both the children and elderly groups exhibited a higher proportion of agitation than the adult group.ConclusionOur research enhances the safety and tolerability profile of ESL, but the clinical use of ESL should be noticed and avoided in relation to AEs since it raises the risk of dermatitis exfoliative, stevens-johnson syndrome. Particular attention should be paid to DRESS in children and hyponatremia in the elderly.

Objective: Real-world studies assessing the effectiveness of the BBIBP-CorV vaccine in low and middle-income countries are limited. We evaluated the BBIBP-CorV vaccine's effectiveness in reducing COVID-19 symptomatic disease, hospitalisation, severe disease, and mortality during the third wave of the pandemic in Sri Lanka. Methods: We conducted a test-negative case-control study in North Central Province from May 2021 to February 2022. Evidence of vaccination was obtained from the national registry. The PCR-positive patients were cases, while negative individuals were controls. Adjusted vaccine effectiveness (aVE) was computed for fully, partially, and non-vaccinated groups in reducing symptomatic disease, hospitalisation, severe disease, and mortality. Results: Our study involved 3305 cases and 3418 controls. The overall aVE for preventing PCR-positive infection in fully vaccinated was 30·8 % (95 % CI:17·9–41·6). In fully vaccinated over 60 years, the overall aVE was 72·3 % (95 % CI: 49·7–84·8). Full vaccination with BBIBP-CorV is effective in reducing hospitalisation, severe COVID-19 disease, and death, with aVE rates of 70·3 % (95 % CI: 57·9–79·0), 88·9 % (95 % CI: 81·8–93·2), and 92·3 % (95 % CI: 84·8–96·1) respectively. Conclusion: Individuals who have received two doses of the BBIBP-CorV vaccine are protected against hospitalisation, severe COVID-19 disease, and death. Duration of protection against hospitalisation, severe COVID-19, and fatal COVID-19 sustained at least 121 days, with no sign of waning during that time.

ObjectiveTo explore the link between plasma aldosterone concentration (PAC) and the prevalence of metabolic dysfunction-related fatty liver disease (MAFLD) in hypertensive patients.MethodsWe analyzed data from 41,131 hospitalized patients from January 1, 2014, to December 31, 2023. Multivariate logistic regression models tested associations, with threshold, subgroup, and sensitivity analyses conducted to validate findings.ResultsFor each 5-unit increase in PAC, the risk of MAFLD rose by 1.57 times, consistent even in the fully adjusted model. The odds ratios for the Q2, Q3, and Q4 groups compared to Q1 were 1.21, 2.12, and 3.14, respectively. A threshold effect was observed at 14 ng/dL, with subgroup and sensitivity analyses supporting these results.ConclusionsThis study reveals a significant positive association between elevated PAC levels and the prevalence of MAFLD in hypertensive patients. These findings underscore the imperative for further large-scale, prospective studies to validate and expand upon this correlation.

The integration between infrared detection and modern microelectronics offers unique opportunities for compact and high-resolution infrared imaging. However, silicon, the cornerstone of modern microelectronics, can only detect light within a limited wavelength range (< 1100 nm) due to its bandgap of 1.12 eV, which restricts its utility in the infrared detection realm. Herein, a photo-driven fin field-effect transistor is presented, which breaks the spectral response constraint of conventional silicon detectors while achieving sensitive infrared detection. This device comprises a fin-shaped silicon channel for charge transport and a lead sulfide film for infrared light harvesting. The lead sulfide film wraps the silicon channel to form a “three-dimensional” infrared-sensitive gate, enabling the photovoltage generated at the lead sulfide-silicon junction to effectively modulate the channel conductance. At room temperature, this device realizes a broadband photodetection from visible (635 nm) to short-wave infrared regions (2700 nm), surpassing the working range of the regular indium gallium arsenide and germanium detectors. Furthermore, it exhibits low equivalent noise powers of 3.2×10−12 W·Hz−1/2 and 2.3×10−11 W·Hz−1/2 under 1550 nm and 2700 nm illumination, respectively. These results highlight the significant potential of photo-driven fin field-effect transistors in advancing uncooled silicon-based infrared detection.

Abstract Squamous promoter binding protein-like (SPL) genes encode plant-specific transcription factors (TFs) that play essential roles in modulating plant growth, development, and stress response. Pea (Pisum sativum L.) is a coarse grain crop of great importance in food production, biodiversity conservation and molecular genetic research, providing genetic information and nutritional resources for improving agricultural production and promoting human health. However, only limited researches on the structure and functions of SPL genes exist in pea (PsSPLs). In this study, we identified 22 PsSPLs and conducted a genome-wide analysis of their physical characteristics, chromosome distribution, gene structure, phylogenetic evolution and gene expression patterns. As a result, the PsSPLs were unevenly distributed on the seven chromosomes of pea and harbored the SBP domain, which is composed of approximately 76 amino acid residues. The phylogenetic analysis revealed that the PsSPLs clustered into eight subfamilies and showed high homology with SPL genes in soybean. Further analysis showed the presence of segmental duplications in the PsSPLs. The expression patterns of 22 PsSPLs at different tissues, developmental stages and under various stimulus conditions were evaluated by qRT-PCR method. It was found that the expression patterns of PsSPLs from the same subfamily were similar in different tissues, the transcripts of most PsSPLs reached the maximum peak value at 14 days after anthesis in the pod. Abiotic stresses can cause significantly up-regulated PsSPL19 expression with spatiotemporal specificity, in addition, four plant hormones can cause the up-regulated expression of most PsSPLs including PsSPL19 in a time-dependent manner. Therefore, PsSPL19 could be a key candidate gene for signal transduction during pea growth and development, pod formation, abiotic stress and plant hormone response. Our findings should provide insights for the elucidating of development regulation mechanism and breeding for resistance to abiotic stress pea.

Abstract Background The National Drug Price Negotiation (NDPN) policy has entered a normalisation stage, aiming to alleviate, to some extent, the disease-related and economic burdens experienced by cancer patients. This study analysed the use and subsequent burden of anticancer medicines among cancer patients in a first-tier city in northeast China. Methods We assessed the usage of 64 negotiated anticancer medicines using the data on the actual drug deployment situation, the frequency of medical insurance claims and actual medication costs. The affordability of these medicines was measured using the catastrophic health expenditure (CHE) incidence and intensity of occurrence. Finally, we used the defined daily doses (DDDs) and defined daily doses cost (DDDc) as indicators to evaluate the actual use of these medicines in the region. Results During the study period, 63 of the 64 medicines were readily available. From the perspective of drug usage, the frequency of medical insurance claims for negotiated anticancer medicines and medication costs showed an increasing trend from 2018 to 2021. Cancer patients typically sought medical treatment at tertiary hospitals and purchased medicines at community pharmacies. The overall quantity and cost of medications for patients covered by the Urban Employee Basic Medical Insurance (UEBMI) were five times higher than those covered by the Urban and Rural Resident Medical Insurance (URRMI). The frequency of medical insurance claims and medication costs were highest for lung and breast cancer patients. Furthermore, from 2018 to 2021, CHE incidence showed a decreasing trend (2.85–1.60%) under urban patients’ payment capability level, but an increasing trend (11.94%–18.42) under rural patients’ payment capability level. The average occurrence intensities for urban (0.55–1.26 times) and rural (1.27–1.74 times) patients showed an increasing trend. From the perspective of drug utilisation, the overall DDD of negotiated anticancer medicines showed an increasing trend, while the DDDc exhibited a decreasing trend. Conclusion This study demonstrates that access to drugs for urban cancer patients has improved. However, patients’ medical behaviours are affected by some factors such as hospital level and type of medical insurance. In the future, the Chinese Department of Health Insurance Management should further improve its work in promoting the fairness of medical resource distribution and strengthen its supervision of the nation’s health insurance funds.

Abstract Given that competing hypotheses about the causal relationship between work motivation and job performance exist, the current research utilized meta-analytic structural equation modeling (MASEM) methodology to detect the causal relationships between work motivation and job performance. In particular, completing hypotheses were checked by applying longitudinal data that include 84 correlations (n = 4389) from 11 independent studies measuring both work motivation and job performance over two waves. We find that the effect of motivation (T1) on performance (T2), with performance (T1) controlled, was positive and significant (β = 0.143). However, the effect of performance (T1) on motivation (T2), with motivation (T1) controlled, was not significant. These findings remain stable and robust across different measures of job performance (task performance versus organizational citizenship behavior), different measures of work motivation (engagement versus other motivations), and different time lags (1–6 months versus 7–12 months), suggesting that work motivation is more likely to cause job performance than vice versa. Practical and theoretical contributions are discussed.

Abstract The humidity has often been measured through a single point sensor. Where, the humidity could be varied at different locations as well as depending on environmental conditions. The present paper developed the dual point humidity measuring sensor by using a polymer optical fiber (POF) based on a single illuminating fiber. The sensor’s basic structure is to twist two fibers and bend them at a certain radius. However, the dual point sensor is developed through the cascading of twisted micro bend (TMB-1 and TMB-2). The twisting of fibers couples the light from one fiber to another fiber through the side coupling method. An increase in the humidity level leads to a change in the reflective index, which helps to get variation in coupled light intensity. To measure the humidity, the dual point sensors are placed into the control humidity chamber at two random positions. The power reading variation is significantly linear when the humidity level increases from 30 to 80%. The sensor has a fast response of about 1 s and a recovery time of about 4 s. Furthermore, the chemical coating is applied to improve the sensor’s sensitivity. Between 30 and 80% range of humidity, the both sensors of dual point TMB-1 and TMB-2 have appropriate sensitivity and detection limits, which is about 680.8 nW/% and 763.9 nW/% and 1.37% and 1.98%, respectively. To measure the humidity at variable positions, the present dual points humidity sensor is well-stable, easy, and straightforward, which uses a less expensive method.

Abstract High-altitude hypoxia acclimatization requires whole-body physiological regulation in highland immigrants, but the underlying genetic mechanism has not been clarified. Here we use sheep as an animal model for low-to-high altitude translocation. We generate multi-omics data including whole-genome sequences, time-resolved bulk RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq and single-cell RNA-Seq from multiple tissues as well as phenotypic data from 20 bio-indicators. We characterize transcriptional changes of all genes in each tissue, and examine multi-tissue temporal dynamics and transcriptional interactions among genes. Particularly, we identify critical functional genes regulating the short response to hypoxia in each tissue (e.g., PARG in the cerebellum and HMOX1 in the colon). We further identify TAD-constrained cis-regulatory elements, which suppress the transcriptional activity of most genes under hypoxia. Phenotypic and transcriptional evidence indicate that antenatal hypoxia could improve hypoxia tolerance in offspring. Furthermore, we provide time-series expression data of candidate genes associated with human mountain sickness (e.g., BMPR2) and high-altitude adaptation (e.g., HIF1A). Our study provides valuable resources and insights for future hypoxia-related studies in mammals.

The weak gel strength of Dosidicus gigas surimi restricts its applications in surimi products. However, the addition of hydrocolloids effectively improve this drawback. Psyllium husk powder (PHP) contains high levels of dietary fiber and forms a good quality hydrocolloid when dissolved in water. In this study, different concentrations of PHP were mixed with D. gigas surimi, and the cooking properties, gel properties, cold storage changes, water distribution and microstructure of the composite gel imitation noodles were studied. The addition of PHP deepened the color of the samples, and made the surimi obtain ductility and stretchability similar to grain noodles. When the level of PHP was approximately 10%, the water absorption reached saturation, and the water solubility and water-holding capability began to reduce. The gel strength and tensile modulus showed increasing trends, and the relative tensile rate reached the maximum value of 3.08 when 10% PHP was added. After refrigeration, the sample became softer and less viscous. Microstructure observations revealed that as more PHP was added, the surface became smoother and tighter and the gel network was more uniform. Overall, the composite gel imitation noodles formed by the addition of 10% PHP had the best quality.

In this work, the forming mechanism of dislocation in laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) built IN738LC alloy was elucidated by studying the intrinsic relationships between the density and distribution of dislocation and the orientation and size of dendrite. The substructures with different dislocation densities and cell spacings were customized by controlling solidification conditions, and analyzed by multi-scale characterizing methods. The results show that an increase in geometrically necessary dislocation (GND) density from 1.48 × 1014 to 1.82 × 1014m−2 is accompanied by a decrease in cell spacing from 1046 nm to 640 nm as the solidification rate increases. However, the relationship between GND density and cell spacing doesn't follow Ashby's model. This indicates that GNDs are not entirely generated by thermal strain itself. On the other hand, the characterization results of cell structures show that a number of misfit dislocations are formed by the thermal strain induced deflection growth of the dendrites. These prove that the dislocations are comprehensively generated by thermal strain itself and dendritic deflection growth.

In this paper, the microstructure and mechanical properties of SLM-GH3230 superalloy treated by different post treatments (single hot isostatic pressing and heat treatments after hot isostatic pressing) were studied. The micro-morphologies show that the grains along building direction after HIP + HT are mainly columnar grains, which is consistent to that after single HIP. The granular precipitates distribute intergranularly and intragranularly after HIP, but gradually re-dissolve into matrix with the increase of the temperature of the post HT processes. XRD and EDS analyses results indicate that the matrix mainly consists of austenitic γ phase and the granular precipitates are mainly M6C carbides enriched in W element. The average grain size decreases after HT compared to that after HIP, and the crystallographic orientation of grains tends to be more uniform. The Vickers hardness decreases after HIP and HIP + HT processes within a certain degree. According to tensile test results, the sample shows a better combination of strength and plastic performance under HIP+1250 °C/30 min processing, which can also be verified by the characteristic of the fracture morphology with more tearing dimples.

Marine equipment is an important measure to support China’s construction of a marine power, as stated in the report of the Chinese Communist Party’s 20th National Congress on “developing the marine economy, protecting the marine ecological environment, and accelerating the building of a marine power”. In recent years, China’s marine equipment industry has developed rapidly, but there are still some problems. The industry is large but not strong enough. And the basic theoretical innovation and core key technologies are difficult to meet the needs of national strategic development. Based on Schumpeter’s innovation theory, this paper investigates the innovative ability of product innovation, process innovation, demand innovation, supply chain innovation and production organization innovation in China’s marine equipment manufacturing industry, and on the basis of summing up three kinds of innovative drive modes, put forward seven developing paths for the development of China’s marine equipment manufacturing industry.

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a malignant disease of the hematologic system. The current treatment is based on chemotherapeutic drugs, which are becoming less effective due to drug resistance. TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) is an apoptotic protein used to treat cancer that does not affect healthy cells. In recent years, however, ALL cells (e.g., U937) have become more resistant to TRAIL. A novel andrographolide derivative (AND7) with high efficiency and low toxicity was synthesized and combined with TRAIL after the optimal combination ratio was screened using U937 cells. We used peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from patients before the initial treatment of ALL as a model and PBMCs from healthy subjects as a control to determine the mechanism underlying ALL treatment. AND7/TRAIL combination treatment was shown to prevent the original TRAIL-resistant cells from activating the caspase-8/caspase-3 pathway through DR4/DR5 and promote apoptosis via expression of ROS and the apoptotic gene, P53, to achieve an anti-cancer effect. Notably, this study demonstrated that the AND7/TRAIL combination enhanced the anti-cancer effect of AND7 and improved TRAIL resistance. Therefore, the AND7/TRAIL combination is promising for treating ALL and lays the foundation for clinical research.

The decision-making process of wind–photovoltaic–hydropower systems involves knowledge from many fields. Influenced by the knowledge level of the decision-maker and the attribute information of the scheme set, there exists a certain uncertainty in the indicator weights. In view of this, this paper proposes a stochastic multi-criteria decision-making framework for scheduling of wind–photovoltaic–hydropower systems, which overcomes the difficulty of uncertainty in indicator weights or even completely unknown information about indicator weights at the time of decision-making. The Stochastic Multi-criteria Acceptability Analysis (SMAA) theory and the VIKOR model are introduced, and the proposed SMAA–VIKOR model makes the indicator weight space explicit. The study shows that the proposed SMAA–VIKOR model can overcome the obstacle of decision-makers’ lack of information on indicator weights. The ranking acceptability indicators calculated by the model show a more obvious trend of advantages and disadvantages, which gives full confidence to the decision-making group to formulate a plan to be implemented. It breaks through the bottleneck of group decision-making, which is difficult to make effective decisions due to the condition of incomplete information, and enriches the library of stochastic multi-criteria decision-making methods for the scientific formulation of scheduling schemes of wind–photovoltaic–hydropower systems under uncertainty conditions. HIGHLIGHTS A stochastic multi-criteria decision-making framework for wind–photovoltaic–hydropower systems is proposed.; The SMAA–VIKOR model is proposed to clarify the indicator weight space.; The proposed SMAA–VIKOR model can overcome the obstacle of decision-makers’ lack of information on indicator weights.;

Abstract The topological photonics plays an important role in the fields of fundamental physics and photonic devices. The traditional method of designing topological system is based on the momentum space, which is not a direct and convenient way to grasp the topological properties, especially for the perturbative structures or coupled systems. Here, we propose an interdisciplinary approach to study the topological systems in real space through combining the information entropy and topological photonics. As a proof of concept, the Kagome model has been analyzed with information entropy. We reveal that the bandgap closing does not correspond to the topological edge state disappearing. This method can be used to identify the topological phase conveniently and directly, even the systems with perturbations or couplings. As a promotional validation, Su–Schrieffer–Heeger model and the valley-Hall photonic crystal have also been studied based on the information entropy method. This work provides a method to study topological photonic phase based on information theory, and brings inspiration to analyze the physical properties by taking advantage of interdisciplinarity. Abstract Meningeal lymphatic vessels (mLVs) play a pivotal role in regulating metabolic waste from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). However, the current limitations in field of view and resolution of existing imaging techniques impede understanding the stereoscopic morphology and dynamic behavior of mLVs in vivo. Here, we utilized dual-contrast functional photoacoustic microscopy to achieve wide-field intravital imaging of the lymphatic system, including mLVs and glymphatic pathways. The stereoscopic photoacoustic microscopy based on opto-acoustic confocal features has a depth imaging capability of 3.75 mm, facilitating differentiation between mLVs on the meninges and glymphatic pathways within the brain parenchyma. Subsequently, using this imaging technique, we were able to visualize the dynamic drainage of mLVs and identify a peak drainage period occurring around 20–40 min after injection, along with determining the flow direction from CSF to lymph nodes. Inspiringly, in the Alzheimer’s disease (AD) mouse model, we observed that AD mice exhibit a ~ 70% reduction in drainage volume of mLVs compared to wild-type mice. With the development of AD, there is be continued decline in mLVs drainage volume. This finding clearly demonstrates that the AD mouse model has impaired CSF drainage. Our study opens up a horizon for understanding the brain’s drainage mechanism and dissecting mLVs-associated neurological disorders.

Abstract Due to the scattered distribution and poor clustering of abnormal clusters in energy big data, the ability to detect anomalies is poor. Therefore, a high-energy data anomaly clustering detection method based on redundant convolutional encoding is proposed. Quantitative analysis of the coupling characteristics of electrical thermal gas optical time series for multi energy users based on Copula function, and incorporating quantitative values into multi energy feature indicators to extract the energy consumption behavior characteristics of multi energy users. Utilize redundant convolutional codecs to recombine and structurally encode abnormal features of energy big data, and capture multi energy coupling time features using coupling time capsule layers. Then, coupling time features are synthesized through fully connected linear regression layers to generate anomalous clustering feature components, and the energy time series data is then transformed into feature values of the time series in three-dimensional space. Based on this, a comprehensive energy system and massive multi energy user energy big data anomaly clustering analysis are carried out to determine the optimal number of multi energy users. Then, based on linear layers, the electricity heat gas light load characteristic map of multi energy users is transformed into one-dimensional form, and an energy big data anomaly clustering detection model is constructed to complete anomaly detection. The simulation results show that the proposed method has excellent feature clustering performance, detection accuracy above 98.7%, fast convergence speed, and an error rate below 0.1, which has reliable application value.

Defect-free SLM-IN 738LC superalloy samples were fabricated using selective laser melting (SLM). The as-built samples exhibit a cellular structure with fine carbides, γ′ phases, and high-density dislocations at the cell boundary and nano-size γ′ phases in the interior, resulting in excellent deformation resistance and favorable mechanical properties at room temperature, with a yield strength (YS) of 970 MPa, an ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of 1263 MPa, and an elongation (EL) of 33%. This study investigates the evolution behavior of the γ′ phase at different solid solution treatment (SHT) temperatures and its impact on alloy strength and toughness. The 1020 + AHT sample exhibits a uniform distribution of coarse γ′ phases. The samples subjected to 1070 + AHT and 1120 + AHT display a bimodal distribution of γ′ phases. When the SHT temperature was further increased, fine spherical γ′ phases are evenly distributed in the 1160 + AHT and 1200 + AHT samples. Moreover, the γ/γ′ eutectics at the grain boundaries gradually dissolve with increasing SHT temperature, whereas the size and fraction of carbides increase. The room temperature tensile test of the 1070 + AHT sample demonstrated a favorable balance between strength and plasticity (YS = 1217 MPa, UTS = 1472 MPa, EL = 9.25%). This is attributed to the synergistic strengthening effect of the bimodal distribution of the γ′ phase. The temperature-dependent deformation behavior of the 1070 + AHT sample was analyzed at 23 °C, 800 °C, 900 °C, and 1000 °C. At 23 °C, numerous dislocations accumulated around the γ/γ′ interfaces. When the temperature increased to 800–900 °C, the dislocations shearing γ′ phases is activated and the alloy remained high strength. At 1000 °C, both the dislocation shearing and dislocation bypassing mechanisms coexist, resulting in a decrease in the strength of the alloy and an increase in its plasticity. This work provides scientific and theoretical support for SLM-IN 738LC parts with favorable properties.

The Al–50Si alloy, designed for effective heat dissipation in electronic components, was subjected to a two-stage heat treatment process to optimize its microstructure and achieve high thermal conductivity (TC). Two distinct temperature stages were strategically chosen: 850 °C and 550 °C, respectively, with the former operating above and the latter below the eutectic point. The first stage at 850 °C led to the isolation of independent Si particles, each closely associated with individual Al crystal with grain size of approximately 1 mm. Subsequent heat treatment at 550 °C skillfully eliminated introduced eutectic Si through Ostwald ripening. Consequently, the impediments posed by grain boundaries to the movement of electrons and phonons were significantly reduced, yielding an exceptionally high TC of approximately 180 Wm−1K−1, closely approaching the theoretical TC value (∼193 Wm−1K−1) for the Al–50Si alloy. This work paved a new path for the design of outstanding thermal properties in Al–Si electronic packaging materials.

AbstractAims Composer is a classic case for investigating the plasticity effect of musical composition on the brain. As an essential brain region associated with prediction and decision, the orbitofrontal cortex exhibits the significant difference in many studies between composers and controls. Meanwhile, these studies also show that musical composition induces changes in cognitive networks, such as auditory and attentional functions. However, these structural and functional connectivity changes are often measured independently, making it crucial to exam the link between these two changes in order to further understand the neuroplasticity of musical composition.Methods In this work, we recruited 18 composers and 20 controls under resting-state functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) scanning. First, based on the Tract-Based Spatial Statistics method, we found the differences in white matter skeleton between composers and the controls. Subsequently, we compared the differences in structural connectivity by probabilistic tracing from the orbitofrontal cortex. Finally, we examined the functional difference between groups.Results We found that composers had higher anisotropy scores and mean diffusion rates in white matter regions such as the corpus callosum, anterior radiating corona, anterior and posterior branches of the internal capsule than the control group. Functional connectivity also provided evidence for the more robust relationship between the orbitofrontal cortex and other regions, such as attentional networks.Conclusion This experiment suggests that the structural and functional connectivity between the orbitofrontal cortex and other higher cognitive areas of composers is stronger than nonmusicians, which improves the understanding of the effect of composition training on structural and functional neuroplasticity.

ABSTRACTForest dynamics provide important information on the ecological environment. The Three-North Shelter Forest Program (TNSFP) is one of the world’s largest reforestation/afforestation programs, however the actual changes in forest cover in the Three-North Regions (TNR) of China resulting from this program are highly uncertain. This study quantified changes in fractional forest cover (FFC) at 30 m using Landsat data from 1996 to 2020. Using the Google Earth Engine platform, more than 40,000 images from Landsat-5, Landsat 7 and Landsat-8 were integrated, and the annual surface reflectance was normalized based on the multi-band least squares regression and maximum normalized difference vegetation index composite method. An ensemble learning model trained using high-resolution Gao-Fen 2 satellite imagery was used to generate the FFC long time-series product. FFC showed an increasing trend with average rates of 0.022/10a in the last 25 years, and 0.03/10a after 2010 largely corresponding to the fourth and fifth phases of the TNSFP. There are significant regional differences in the relationship between FFC and air temperature ([Formula: see text] = 0.37) and precipitation ([Formula: see text] = 0.49). The increased air temperature in arid and less rainy areas inhibit the FFC increase, whereas the increase in precipitation had a promoting effect. FFC appeared more sensitive to changes in solar radiation and heat conditions in humid and rainy areas. The attribution analysis revealed that 34% of FFC changes were caused by climatic variables and 66% were caused by non-climatic factors. Among them, afforestation associated with the TNSFP significantly increased FFC, and forest fire is a key factor of forest change in the Greater Khingan Ranges and Lesser Khingan Ranges regions. Planting single tree species caused biological disasters in forests of Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia. Further analysis of the increased FFC using high-level satellite products demonstrated an improvement in environmental conditions with cooler land surface temperature and higher vegetation gross primary production over the TNR.

Abstract The transition metal‐catalyzed multi‐component cross‐electrophile sulfonylation, which incorporates SO2 as a linker within organic frameworks, has proven to be a powerful, efficient, and cost‐effective means of synthesizing challenging alkyl–alkyl sulfones. Transition metal catalysts play a crucial role in this method by transferring electrons from reductants to electrophilic organohalides, thereby causing undesirable side reactions such as homocoupling, protodehalogenation, β‐hydride elimination, etc. It is worth noting that tertiary alkyl halides have rarely been demonstrated to be compatible with current methods owing to various undesired side reactions. In this work, a zinc‐promoted cross‐electrophile sulfonylation is developed through a radical‐polar crossover pathway. This approach enables the synthesis of various alkyl–alkyl sulfones, including 1°‐1°, 2°‐1°, 3°‐1°, 2°‐2°, and 3°‐2° types, from inexpensive and readily available alkyl halides. Various functional groups are well tolerated in the work, resulting in yields of up to 93%. Additionally, this protocol has been successfully applied to intramolecular sulfonylation and homo‐sulfonylation reactions. The insights gained from this work shall be useful for the further development of cross‐electrophile sulfonylation to access alkyl–alkyl sulfones.

Hidden champions are SMEs with strong global competitiveness in specialized fields but low profile. China’s hidden champions show less internationalization compared to their global peers, despite niche market dominance. Consequently, an exploration of the internationalization trajectories and determinants for China’s hidden champions is essential. This study utilizes fsQCA to investigate the internationalization strategies of 91 hidden champions, from China, using the “Efficiency-Structure-Environment” analytical framework. Five principal causal pathways for international operations are illustrated, categorized into three main driving models: “Efficiency-Environment,”“Efficiency-Structure,” and “System Interaction,” with the first model being the most dominant. The study further classifies hidden champions by ownership, finding that both state-owned and private enterprises predominantly follow the “Efficiency-Structure” driving model. Additionally, when classified by certification types, all categories are found to align with the “System Integration” model. Notably, the international path for cultivation hidden champions is also well-explained by the “Efficiency Dominance” model. Lastly, the study delineates industry-specific models: general equipment manufacturers employ the “Efficiency-Structure” model, special equipment manufacturers use the “Structure-Environment” model, and the computer industry follows the “System Integration” model.

BackgroundPrior research has highlighted the association between uric acid (UA) and the activation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). However, the specific relationship between aldosterone, the RAAS’s end product, and UA-related diseases remains poorly understood. This study aims to clarify the impact of aldosterone on the development and progression of hyperuricemia and gout in hypertensive patients.MethodsOur study involved 34534 hypertensive participants, assessing plasma aldosterone concentration (PAC)’s role in UA-related diseases, mainly hyperuricemia and gout. We applied multiple logistic regression to investigate the impact of PAC and used restricted cubic splines (RCS) for examining the dose-response relationship between PAC and these diseases. To gain deeper insights, we conducted threshold analyses, further clarifying the nature of this relationship. Finally, we undertook subgroup analyses to evaluate PAC’s effects across diverse conditions and among different subgroups.ResultsMultivariate logistic regression analysis revealed a significant correlation between the occurrence of hyperuricemia and gout and the elevation of PAC levels. Compared to the first quartile (Q1) group, groups Q2, Q3, and Q4 all exhibited a significantly increased risk of occurrence. Moreover, the conducted RCS analysis demonstrated a significant nonlinear dose-response relationship, especially when PAC was greater than 14 ng/dL, with a further increased risk of hyperuricemia and gout. Finally, comprehensive subgroup analyses consistently reinforced these findings.ConclusionThis study demonstrates a close association between elevated PAC levels and the development of UA-related diseases, namely hyperuricemia and gout, in hypertensive patients. Further prospective studies are warranted to confirm and validate this relationship.

Resumo Fundamento: O antibiótico quimioterápico antraciclina doxorrubicina (DOX) pode induzir cardiotoxicidade cumulativa e levar à disfunção cardíaca. RNAs não codificantes longos (lncRNAs) podem funcionar como importantes reguladores na lesão miocárdica induzida por DOX. Objetivo: Este estudo tem como objetivo investigar o papel funcional e o mecanismo molecular do RNA antisense lncRNA OXCT1 1 (OXCT1-AS1) na lesão celular miocárdica induzida por DOX in vitro. Métodos: Cardiomiócitos humanos (AC16) foram estimulados com DOX para induzir um modelo de lesão celular miocárdica. A expressão de OXCT1-AS1, miR-874-3p e BDH1 em células AC16 foi determinada por RT-qPCR. A viabilidade das células AC16 foi medida pelo ensaio XTT.
