Child sexual abuse (CSA) is a terrible type of maltreatment that occurs in all countries and social statuses, but due to the shame and taboo that it creates, it is still riddled with myths and false beliefs that make it difficult for the population and the authorities to adequately determine its prevalence. The objective of this work was to explore what Mexican women know about CSA. The participants were Mexican women (N = 499) who filled out a questionnaire comprising ten items referring to truths and myths about CSA, indicating their degree of agreement with them on a Likert scale. The results showed that although Mexican women have quite adequate knowledge about CSA, they still hold wrong beliefs about the child's feelings toward the abuser or the child victim becoming an adult abuser. Likewise, differences were found in the myths and truths about CSA held by women under 40 and over 40 years of age. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper presents an innovative methodology for the prevention of child sexual abuse (CSA): animated cartoons. CSA is a political, social, educational, and psychological problem that affects many children according to the World Health Organization (WHO). That is why prevention becomes an essential tool for the protection of children. Children are increasingly accustomed to the use of digital media, both for learning and for entertainment. In response to this evolution on how information is transmitted and according to the tradition that cartoons have always had of transmitting values such as friendship, ecology, or solidarity, a 15-minute long video was developed. This video is an animated cartoon, presenting a story. It is composed of music, six friends, and three fantasy characters, and it was designed for children to learn resources to ask for help in case they are suffering CSA. The video is accompanied by a workbook through which both children and adults reinforce what they have learned in the cartoons and learn additional keys for their protection. Data from the first pilot studies carried out to test the effectiveness of this methodology are also presented, with promising results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Bullying is a problem within the school context and with important consequences for the victim. The scientific literature has shown that emotional intelligence (EI) enhances the role of cohabitation within the school context. This systematic review aims to analyze the evidence of the role of EI in bullying. Results show greater levels of emotional perception in students involved in bullying and lower levels of emotional understanding and regulation compared to students not involved in these behaviors. In addition, gender differences in their levels of EI were found among students involved in bullying. Child sexual abuse (CSA) is a terrible type of maltreatment that can have serious physical and psychological consequences for victims. These consequences include shame and are often taboo in conversation, which makes CSA very difficult to see. Therefore, multiple myths exist about CSA that can lead to misperceptions regarding issues such as its context, prevalence, and consequences. What is unknown cannot be addressed; therefore, the aim of this work was to investigate Spanish participants' knowledge about CSA as well as examine gender and educational level differences. A 10-item questionnaire comprising myths and truths about CSA was developed, taking into account existing literature. Participants (N = 1,540) had to rate their level of agreement with the statements. Some important aspects of CSA remain unclear, particularly in terms of the background of the victims (e.g., gender, educational level, CSA prevalence). Significant differences in the perception of CSA between men and women and among those with various educational levels were found: Men and people with lower levels of education held more myths about CSA. In conclusion, better knowledge about CSA is needed to get people involved in its prevention. The purpose of this case study is to present practical examples of interventions carried out in clinical practice using mindfulness techniques. In recent years, it has been demonstrated that mindfulness is a powerful treatment, able to produce changes at both biological and physiological levels as well as on well-being, through the reduction of the symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and ruminative thoughts. This study is of a psychological intervention mainly focused on mindful breathing, meditation, and exercises of self-compassion in two patients (women aged 31 and 44 years) with anxious and depressive symptoms. Some of the exercises used and the results obtained are explained: reduction of anxiety, reduction of depressive symptoms, and increase of well-being. Cancer is a serious disease with important consequences both physical and psychological. There exist aspects such as resilience or ability to thrive on adversity that can contribute to a better adjustment to the situation, acceptance, finding the meaning of the traumatic experience, and even benefits of it. This study aims to perform a review on what has been found within the oncological population mostly studied (breast cancer and other types of oncological diseases, pediatric, palliative care, as well as family and/or caregivers) regarding resilience. The focus is three-sided: to show the role of resilience throughout the disease and after the patients' recovery, and its importance as an aspect to be developed in the psychological treatment that the oncological patient receives. The conclusions indicate that resilience is shown to be a necessary variable for the positive cooping of cancer and recovery, both in patients and in family members. We introduce and discuss several ways of extending the inner measure arisen from the closed injective hull of an ideal of linear operators to the multilinear case. In particular, we consider new measures that allow to characterize the operators that belong to a closed injective ideal of multilinear operators as those having measure equal to zero. Some interpolation formulas for these measures, and consequently interpolation results involving ideals of multilinear operators, are established. The present study explored the mediating role of cognitive and affective components of empathy in the relationship between happiness and positive and negative affect in adolescents with Asperger Syndrome (AS) and their non-AS peers. For that purpose, we measured empathy, subjective happiness, and affect experienced by a group of 42 adolescents with AS compared to 44 of their non-AS peers. Adolescents in both groups were matched on age, sex, and IQ, and were administered a battery of measures assessing their self-reports of empathy, perspective-taking, subjective happiness, and positive and negative affect. Findings revealed that adolescents with AS, in contrast to their peers without AS, reported less subjective happiness, less positive affect, and lower affective balance. No differences were found between the two groups on negative affect. A mediating role of both cognitive and affective components of empathy was found between happiness, positive affect, and affective balance experienced in relation to AS. We prove that for a large class of Banach function spaces continuity and holomorphy of superposition operators are equivalent and that bounded superposition operators are continuous. We also use techniques from infinite dimensional holomorphy to establish the boundedness of certain superposition operators. Finally, we apply our results to the study of superposition operators on weighted spaces of holomorphic functions and the $F(p, \alpha , \beta )$ spaces of Zhao. The Eyes Test-Child version (Baron-Cohen, Wheelwright, Spong, Scahill, & Lawson, 2001) is a test that measures advanced theory of mind (ToM) skills through an emotional recognition task. The test was designed for the diagnosis of emotional recognition and mentalization, and it has been widely used across different cultures as a tool for the diagnosis of disorders associated with a deficit in ToM skills, such as autism spectrum disorders, schizophrenia or behavioral disorders. This study reports the preliminary validation of the Spanish "Eyes Test-Child Version" in an adolescent nonclinical population. We examined distribution of response, item difficulty, and scores on the Spanish version with a sample of 354 adolescents aged 14 to 16 years. Additionally, we analyzed whether the right responses were associated with age and gender. Results showed that distribution of response, item difficulty, and scores on the Spanish sample coincided with the original version. Eyes Test scores were not related to the age of adolescents. We study projections and injections between projective tensor products spaces or spaces of polynomials and we show that the example of a polynomial constructed in [4], that is neither p-dominated nor compact, can be identified with the projection map of the symmetric tensor product onto the space. This paper introduces the class of p 1 , … , p m , σ , q , ν -nuclear m-linear operators between Banach spaces, as an intermediate space between the class of nuclear multilinear operators and the whole class of all bounded multilinear operators. In this paper we undertake a detailed study of factorization schemes for summing linear and nonlinear operators. The main aim of this study was to analyze the frequency and effectiveness of mood-regulation strategies that people use when they feel sad, and to examine how these mood-regulation strategies are associated with the emotion management subscale of an EI ability measure, and with depression symptoms. The sample was composed of 400 participants. The measures used were the Self Regulating Strategies of Mood Questionnaire, the Beck Depression Inventory, and the subscale of Emotion Management of the Mayer, Salovey, Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test. Results showed that the most effective strategy to regulate sadness was "call, talk to, or be with someone". Higher scores in emotional management were associated with lower scores in depression, as well as the use of different mood-regulation strategies to reduce sadness. Moreover, the emotion management subscale accounted for some of the variance in depression beyond mood-regulation strategies. Finally, the implications of these findings are discussed. This article has two clear motivations, one technical and one practical. The technical motivation unifies in a single formulation a huge family of inequalities that have been produced separately over the last ninety years in different contexts. But we do not just join inequalities; our method also creates a family of inequalities that were invisible by previous approaches. The practical motivation is to show that our new approach has the strength to attack various problems. We study norm attaining properties of the Arens extensions of multilinear forms defined on Banach spaces. Among other related results, we construct a multilinear form on ℓ1 with the property that only some fixed Arens extensions determined a priori attain their norms.
